[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60781] ASKLIBREOFFICE: Add a list to a profile with questions which commented or answered by a registered person

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60781

I can't support an automatically opt-in subscription / follow method other than
the current inbox (envelope icon). Subscription / following is almost
universally an opt-in, rather than opt-out method by default. As someone who is
reasonably active on a couple of LO-related sites I do not want to be notified
by email / tweet / whatever of every question I answer or thread I comment in,
so this is essentially a matter of preference i.e., opt-in.

I am however happy to use the internal AskLO inbox fuction to track recent
questions / threads. The one problem I see with this request is when a correct
answer is selected that "the question should automatically disappear from this
list". I would think it less useful to have automatic disappearance than to
have these entries clearly marked. Whether this tracking enhancement is done
via the inbox or the follow list I guess is debatable.

The other point appears to be the sorting of either inbox or follow list
entries e.g., by date or alphabetic. This could be useful.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67290] New: FILESAVE: Google Docs does not open (preview) PPT files saved from Impress

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67290

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67290
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Google Docs does not open (preview) PPT
files saved from Impress
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: lili...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

When I send e-mail to someone from gmail that contains PPT presentation saved
from LibreOffice, Gmail (Google Docs) does not generate preview, which is
pretty usefull when you don't want to download it, but just to preview in
browser.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create presentation in Impress and save it in PPT
2. Sent it via g-mail account
3. Open the message and click Preview
4. Google Docs will write that it could not generate preview, but it could if
presentation is not saved from Impress

Current behavior:

Google Doc cannot open presentation saved in PPT from Impress. My personal
opinion is that Google Doc has pretty good compactability with MS Office, so I
assume that error appears while exporting to PPT from Impress.

Expected behavior:

File in PPT from Impress is saved in a way it allows other applications (such
as Google Doc) to open it.

Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.0.4.2 release

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45516] FILESAVE: "Restart Numbering" is not properly saved

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45516

I can admit that LibreOffice (v3.5.4.2) doesn't save "Restart Numbering" for
the first number of a list when saving as ODT format. Also when LibreOffice
saves as DOC format it separates the lists by using different list-styles (e.g.
WW8Num3, WW8Num4, ...) for every list and then it ignores every "Restart
Numbering" attribute for separating restarting lists at all.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40929] Restart numbering is not save for the first list in the document

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40929

I tried to reproduce this bug using LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 on Linux Mint Debain
Edition. And I can admit that this bug is correct and I could reproduce it.
However you should note that for exactly reproducing this bug you should assign
the same list-style to all the lists. To do so you must select all the lists,
then press F11 to view all kind of styles, then select the "List Styles" button
which is fifth button from the left to view all list-styles and then select the
same list-style (e.g. "Numbering 1") for all the selected lists.

After doing all these steps and saving and reopening the ODT file, the "Restart
Numbering" button is enabled for first items of all lists except the first
list.

But after saving as DOC file and reopening it, not only the "Restart Numbering"
button is disabled for all the items, but also each list now has different
list-style (i.e. WW8Num3, WW8Num4 and WW8Num5).

1. Create a new writer document
2. Set page style to Landscape
3. Insert a table
4. Set caret into a cell of the table, Format->Paragraph->Text
Flow->Hyphenation->check Automatically->OK.

Expected result: page stays landscape

Actual result: page style reverts to Default.

This doesn't happen if the page is set to landscape by using
Format->Page->Page->Orientation (thus modifying the Default style).

Tested on LO 3.6.3.2 and 4.1.0.4 under Win7x64.

Please Jim, remember not always what is desirable for one it is for other.
Or simply it is not so easy to implement, or no one have had interest in do it.
Remember this is an open source project, and is not a MS clone.

You can not omit columns selectively, but have you tried some of the proposals.
And another easy way is create a new sheet with only data to print, referred to
original data.

Ok, the documentation does say that each print range appears on a separate
page.

I'm having trouble imagining how that is a desirable feature, i.e. when would
someone want that? Is this is an intentional design decision to serve some
need? Is this a Microsoft compatibility thing?

What I really want to know is how to selectively omit columns from a
spreadsheet when printing. For example, given a spreadsheet listing event
attendees, with a sensitive column (e.g. "health status"), how could the
spreadsheet be printed without showing the sensitive column, yet otherwise
print the spreadsheet normally?

Thank you for looking into this.
You are quite right. The crash seems to be related to an extension. However, it
was not enough to simply create clear profile, since the extension was
installed for all users.

The extension is Russian spellchecker ORFO Lite. However, it only causes crash
if LO native Russian dictionary is also installed.
I will contact the extension devs to inform them.

I'm not sure if I need to rename the issue to only cover the instable paragraph
issue, or close the issue and open another one.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46447] Embedded Pictures disappear from document (presentation, .odp) contents

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46447

This feature just happened to me as well...

Ubuntu 12.10 LO v. 3.6.2.2 build ID: 360m1(build:2).

Never had that happen to me before for > 6 months. Now I used an ellipse with
text, bg color and a circular arrow for the first time and now even other
presentations that I did not even had open at the time are corrupted. But all
of them have been created within the last week with pictures copy/pasted from
GIMP. Surprising for me is the fact that all pictures where inserted the same
way, but only some have disappeared...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66025] uno.py Importing bindings causes python to crash.

It's a bit of a catch-22. If uno re-throws the exact original exception
directly, while best for regular import failures, it's worse on LO import
failures since the exception will only refer to a top level com module. And
the uno code can't know for sure which case it is in.

But it's still an ImportError, and the traceback should help. I'm wondering if
a trade-off I made in the current patch favors uno imports too much. It skips
the lowest frame from the _g_delegatee failure at a given level, which works
well for uno failures since it avoids many extra g_delegatee frames while the
"fake" uno module hierarchy is traversed, but is probably hiding needed frames
in non-uno nested import failures.

Would it be possible for you to reintroduce the httpserver error, then try the
patched version of uno.py but with the following change:

--- uno.py.patch2013-07-24 06:54:38.703357947 -0400
+++ uno.py2013-07-24 16:26:29.436937908 -0400

 # process optargs
@@ -318,3 +319,3 @@
  (name, name, x))
- e.__traceback__ = sys.exc_info()[2]
+ e.__traceback__ = python_tb

and let me know if this produces a traceback that would have worked for your
issue with httpserver (without needing to remove the uno import)? It still
won't be exactly the same as the original Python exception and traceback, but
should have all the needed references to the OpenLP code.

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources (future 4.2.0) updated today and with
4.0.3 Debian testing package, both with a brand new LO profile, I didn't
reproduce the crash. I used the testcase and did the 4.

Just to be sure it's not a problem from an extension or a buggy remnant in
profile, could you rename your LO directory profile and give it a new try? (see

Summary: FILEOPEN: EPS image colors are interpreted wrongly
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: luizl...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 rc
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

When a EPS image is inserted, the file colors are interpreted wrongly. Even
pure red (FF) becomes something lighter (but not human visible) while pure
green (00FF00) gets very different.

I generated the same image in PNG and EPS format. They seems to be correct in,
both PNG and EPS, inside inkscape and gwenview. The difference in colors inside
inkscape is not visible and probably because colors in EPS are represented by
floats.

I'll attach the eps/png file, an odt and a pdf version of an text document with
both formats inserted.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create a new text document
2. insert the EPS image
3. insert the PNG image

Current behavior:
4. Colors are visibly different

Expected behavior:
5. Besides some white space and font size, both images should look the same.

PS: EPS files does not work at all in Windows. I reported it in bug 67240
Operating System: Linux (Other)
Version: 4.1.0.4 rc

Create a table in postgresql with LO → Tools → SQL like
CREATE TABLE name ( id SERIAL, name VARCHAR(50), PRIMARY KEY (id) );
Open this table with LO 4.0.2.2 or any version before. The field "id" is shown
with "AutoField". You could enter data in the field "name". "id" is created
automatically.

Since LO 4.0.3.3 field "id" isn't shown as "AutoField". You could enter data in
the field "name". "id" shows for every row '0'. If you refresh the table "id"
shows the right incremented values.

Hi Jim, thanks for reporting.

I think it is how it works, not a bug, every range is showed in their own page.

What you can, usually is gotten putting the two first columns as Columns to
repeat in Menu/Format/Print Ranges/Edit.

Other workaround is using the Menu/Data/Group&Outline, to hide/show quickly
columns/rows.
The documentation help is here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: mjoy...@vbservices.net
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Mate Desktop Window Settings:
  [x] focus follows mouse
[ ] raise windows after delay on focus

Steps to reproduce:
1. use focus follows mouse
2. double click a csv file to open
3. move another window on top of the import dialog, leave part of the dialog
exposed
4. mouse over the dialog, the dialog moves to the top of the stack.

Current behavior:

The import dialog violates window manager settings by forcing itself to top of
display stack when focused.

Expected behavior:

The import dialog does not alter it's stack position when focused, obeying the
window manager's placement in the stack.

This is disruptive when trying to switch rapidly between windows when trying to
compare the import dialog preview to other windows open in other applications
and actually had me thinking briefly that my other app had crashed as it
"vanished" while mousing towards it.

On this 64-bit Windows 7 system, resultant Windows registry entries made to

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66025] uno.py Importing bindings causes python to crash.

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66025

Many thanks for the updates and the hard work.

Running the test on our code the errors are cleaner but we still seem to have a
problem with uno.py.

In the original OpenLP code we had an exception window which imported uno
outside the class (when the file was read). This triggered of all the import
checking. At the same time we had a bug (due to the python3 conversion in our
HTTPServer class). Uno.py just reported that HttpServer was missing and not
why.

I recoded our exception form to only import uno when it was needed and the
traces showed what the error was in HttpServer. This is now being fixed.

Whist this has cleaned things up and we have learnt by our mistakes the loss of
the original exception has not helped.

If someone knows how to throw the original exception there would seem not much
more we can do with this issue. A back port to 4.1 would be nice though.

89ea49ddacd9aa532507cbf852f2bb22b1ace28 and installed Germanophone lang- as
well as helppack under Debian Testing AMD64 ... :( When I use the Germanophone
UI, create a Writer document with only "Test" in it, and send this via "File -
Send - Create Master Document", I get the message "Das Dokument konnte nicht
erzeugt werden." (roughly translated: The document could not be created.") ...
:(
HTH
Thomas.

Seems like LO can't communicate with the printer driver. Perhaps you could also
try reverting to some old printer driver.

I've just saw that Win7 also not having built-in Kodak printer driver, so it
really depends on driver provided by manufacturer (Kodak).

Test case file: delete the "Delete me" style and LO crashes

Whenever I delete a bulleted, applied, paragraph style, LibreOffice crashes.

If I try deleting a non-bulleted applied style, everything is OK. No problem
either if I try to delete a bulleted style that’s not currently applied.

I did not try using numbered styles.

This happens in
LibreOffice 4.0.4.2 under Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 under Ubuntu 13.04

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67261] New: Selecting window from taskbar moves the focus to "Styles & Formatting" popu[ window instead of the main edit window

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67261

Bug ID: 67261
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Selecting window from taskbar moves the focus to
"Styles & Formatting" popu[ window instead of the main
edit window
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: wiraw...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.4 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Preface: I am filing this bug against 3.5.4 (actually reported as 3.5.4.2 in my
program) that shipped with Linux Debian 7 (Wheezy) stable. But I believe this
behavior is there all the way to version 4.x. I am using xfce desktop, but this
problem is also there with GNOME 2.x. Try it if other window managers and
desktops (including Windows) also have the same problem.

When I switch from one window to a LibreOffice window that has its "Styles and
Formatting" popup window showing, I can click the window icon from the xfce
taskbar and expect the main LibreOffice window (say, a writer document) to be
activated and focused on. Instead, the focus will go to the "Styles and
Formatting" popup window. This is an annoying feature because I would not
expect the focus to go there. I want the focus go directly to the main
writer/spreadsheet window. That is, unless I was focusing on the "Styles and
Formatting" popup window before moving away from that document.

Sorry if this is not clear enough. If you want clarification, please help me by
asking some questions.

Wirawan

do you remember which one was the last working LibO version?

If yes, download the corresponding portable version from this page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/winpenpack/files/X-LibreOffice/releases/

then try printing and tell us if the issue is still there

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67259] New: PDF: Charts in Writer documents do not refresh to represent new data in generated PDF

2013-07-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67259

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67259
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: PDF: Charts in Writer documents do not refresh to
represent new data in generated PDF
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: brandon.ty...@lauren.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 82941
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=82941&action=edit
Example Document

Charts in Writer documents use old ObjectReplacements/VCLMTF files when
generating PDFs.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open attached 'sample_output.odt' document. Charts correctly represent
table data.
2) Export Directly as PDF

Expected result:
The chart should represent changed table data.

Actual result:
The chart does not update, it instead loads a previous VCLMTF rendering from
the internal ObjectReplacements folder.

Build: Version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:2))
Platform: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 64-bit

Build: LibreOffice 4.0.1.2
Platform: CentOS release 5.8 (Final) 64-bit

Additional information:
If the chart is altered directly by altering the dimensions, that chart then
generates as expected in the resulting PDF.

The sample document was originally created as a template document and is
manipulated externally, presenting end users only the resulting PDF.
