https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54166 --- Comment #12 from Joel Madero --- This is not a bug - JBF has explained why. If you have the right fonts installed then there is no problem. Notes on your solution: We cannot install fonts like this - we'd have to scour the internet for the fonts and then somehow install them upon finding that the font isn't installed. Furthermore we can't really test for a "close font" without details about the current font which isn't there. Furthermore, fonts like Calligra are owned by Microsoft so there is no way we could install them (even if we had a mechanism to do so) JBF - my recommendation is NOTABUG - can you confirm? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67779 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #3 from Mike Kaganski --- This problem is caused by using "MS Shell Dlg" font. Please note that LO displays the font name in italics (and will show warning tooltip if you hover the mouse over it) indicating that the font is not available and is substituted. According to Microsoft (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd374112.aspx), MS Shell Dlg is a "logical font" that map to different real fonts on different systems (system-specific). They are used in user interface elements, and should not be used in documents that are intended to look identically wherever used. Naturally, MS software does support these mappings. But I feel that using these "fonts" is a bad thing per se, and should be avoided by document authors. If you set the font manually to Microsoft Sans Serif (Font Mapping on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista and Windows 7), the rendering will be much better. I mark this as "NOTABUG", but if you feel this incorrect, please reopen it with a description. It could be an enhancement request to support these MS-specific custom mappings (though it will be inherently system-dependent, and thus inappropriate in editing software). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67866 Mike Kaganski changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski --- According to ISO 32000-1:2008 Document management -- Portable document format -- Part 1: PDF 1.7, section 14.9.2 Natural Language Specification: "The natural language used for text in a document shall be determined in a hierarchical fashion, based on whether an optional Lang entry (PDF 1.4) is present in any of several possible locations. At the highest level, the document’s default language (which applies to both text strings and text within content streams) may be specified by a Lang entry in the document catalogue (see 7.7.2, “Document Catalog”). Below this, the language may be specified for the following items: •Structure elements of any type (see 14.7.2, “Structure Hierarchy”), through a Lang entry in the structure element dictionary. •Marked-content sequences that are not in the structure hierarchy (see 14.6, “Marked Content”), through a Lang entry in a property list attached to the marked-content sequence with a Span tag." The document in LO, AFAICT, doesn't have the "default language" (though a specific LO configuration does have default language - but this is a GUI concept). Instead, different parts of the document have their own languages. It may happen that the whole document has one language, but generally, this is not the case. Thus, it is not always possible to determine "document language" that should be put into PDF document catalogue (which is displayed in the UI). But please note that there's no requirement that each hierarchy level be set. If you open the LO-generated tagged PDF in a plain text editor, you may see that there are entries for distinct elements like "/Lang(pt-BR)" or "/Lang(ru-RU)". So a screen reader has the necessary information when reading a section. I close this as NOTABUG, but if you feel that it is incorrect, please reopen it with comment why you feel so. Possibly it could be an enhancement request to fill the highest-level Lang entry (in document catalogue) when there's only one language in the document. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48463] FILESAVE: as .xls (MSO2003) creates malformed links to external files - saving as ods works fine
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48463 --- Comment #35 from Cor Nouws --- Hi Michael, I know that regularly miss things, or make mistakes (not that I think that I'm particularly stupid, but mostly because the number of (different) topics that I give attention to, is basically a little too much. Which is stupid of course..) Therefore, when some days ago someone filed a bug that happened to be a duplicate of this one and that I spent some time on I carefully looked at the history of this bug, and found that it was me (I didn't remember this) who some time ago, beacuse of how I understood comment 17 , added 'Windows OS' to the summary and at the same time removed the keyword 'regression'. That made me look at the various comments again, also of the duplicate bugs, which gave me the impression that the changes I made before to the summary/keyword, could_ be wrong. So I did some additional tests, and indeed could confirm the described behaviour: - external link to a file on a non Windows platform (Linux) works fine in ODS but not in XLS. - that this wasn't a problem in 3.4.x – the first 3.5-build that I have available, (3.5.0-beta1.a) does have the problem. Now I was confused by how to understand comment 17 , so to take it serious, I had asked some extra information. As I understood it, that confirmed that Windows OS is not relevant in this issue. That it was mentioned in the other comment was confusing or maybe related to another topic. I don't know. Anyway, in this issue it is the file type that is relevant. Thus all I wanted to know is which person is the best to look at the filter. Of course I apologise if I was wrong. And obviously had no intention to be rude nor impolite to anyone. If my question turned out to have that effect. I seriously apologise. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47662] EDITING: Inconsistent / unintuitive reference link handling for check boxes and other form fields when Copying Sheets
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47662 --- Comment #9 from Stephan van den Akker --- The reason I mentioned aoo#29848 is that the sheet references in the data ranges are always presented as absolute (e.g. $Sheet1.A1). This implies to the user that if you move or copy a sheet the chart will still reference the same sheet. The actual behaviour of Calc >= 3.3 is that references to the chart's own sheet are in fact relative, and that it should be presented to the user as such (e.g. Sheet1.A1). IMO references to sheets should follow the same rules as references to cells: $ means absolute, no "$" means relative.
