[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67932] New: PRINTING: error printing several "solid" horizontal borders in xls files

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67932

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67932
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: PRINTING: error printing several "solid" horizontal
borders in xls files
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: guest250...@mail.ru
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 83872
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83872&action=edit
sample of "printed with errors" file. it was cleared cause contained "personal
data".

I'm from Russia, so my English is not perfect ;)

Problem description: every month I print timesheet. previously it was "normal"
(LibreOffice 4.0.3), after upgrade to LibreOffice 4.1.0 I've "lost" 10
horizontal "solid" Lines per page... downloaded 4.0.4, after downgrade got
normal print (in 4.0.4)

Steps to reproduce:
1. open existing document
2. press print
3. got "lost" horizontal lines on 2 and 3rd sheets.

Current behavior: some horizontal solid lines didn't printed in version 4.1.0,
but well printed in 4.0.3 or 4.0.4

Expected behavior: all horizontal solid lines should be printed.

"cleared" version of document attached. (only 2nd and 3rd sheets with no
personalized data)
There is also a problem with "deleting" non used "vba macros", but it's not so
"hard" problem...

Operating System: Windows XP
Version: 4.1.0.4 release

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62769] Compatibility with MS Word and Skydrive

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62769

I do not have a Mac. But I use LO and Skydrive for quite long time. And I have
no problems there.

I suppose that there is some problem in Mac app for SkyDrive, that prevents it
to upload the modified document to MS server. There's no "criteria" that MS
established: the Skydrive accepts just any file you put there; in MS Windows,
when I use MS SkyDrive app for Windows, the only requirement is that it is not
blocked by an editing software - so, while I have a document open in LO, it is
not synchronized to Skydrive, but as soon as I close it, app detects it and
synchronizez successfully.

The text in the attachment 83859 is in single text frame, empty lines between
labels make the alignment.

Looks like the frame is positioned by its center (correctly), but paragraph
spacing is choosen incorrectly (it should be ~112% instead of 125%).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54924] Export objects with transparency to PDF/A corrupts non-transparent gradients

ZIP containing Inkscape SVG/PDF and Draw PDF/A-1a of Inscape SVG.

Thanks Chris and kitaets for the clarification about the issue. I feel it would
be helpful if we could obtain a PDF/A-1 document that contains a
non-transparent gradient as a confirming example. The source does not need to
be an LO document. I ask this because I am not sure how a non-transparent
gradient is calculated and stored. Can anyone point to a definition of how a
two-colour, non-transparent, single-gradient is calculated/stored? Do either
layer use transparency?

I can import an SVG created in Inkscape v0.48.3.1.r9886 (refer attached), which
contains a basic gradient from 100% blue to 100% magenta and it exports from
Draw v4.1.0.4 under GNU/Linux to PDF/A-1 without the blacking out effect in the
original example. The resulting PDF does however suffer from incorrect angle of
gradient and poor gradient quality. Can others create some two-colour,
non-transparent, single-gradient object tests using different applications /
graphic formats?

Saving Bitmap/Hatch/Arrowhead etc... list in invlaid storage does not warn user
and does not save.

Steps to reproduce, for Arrowheads (same for other graphics objects)

1) Draw a line in any document.

2) Select Line, open context menu, click on Line

3) Select Arrow Styles tab. Click the Save button. The save dialog opens to
define path and filename.

4) Select an invalid path, e.g. / or /home or /sbin (non-writable folder)

Results: File is not saved. No warning for user.

Expected result: A warning message telling the user that the save operation
failed.

The issue is in

bool SvxXMLXTableExportComponent::save(

found in

/svx/source/xml/xmlxtexp.cxx

that does not return false on unsuccessful save operation.

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: when page scaling factor is >100%, thin
border lines (0.05pt) are exported to PDF with
different line widths, some are practically invisible
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.5.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

When page scaling factor is >100%, thin border lines (0.05pt) are exported to
PDF with different line widths, some are practically invisible.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new spreadsheet.
2. Apply black thin borders (0.05pt).
3. Menu Format->Page...->Sheet->Scaling mode: Reduce/enlarge printout; Scaling
factor: 130%
4. Export to PDF with default settings.

Expected result: the borders are visible and consistent in resulting PDF.

Actual result: the borders have different widths: some look normal, some have
zero width (almost invisible at any zoom, up to 6400%).

This problem happens at any scaling factor >100%. Scaling factors <=100% are
OK.

Please note that this is not a reader-dependent problem: if you import the PDF
to draw, you may see that these hairlines are thinner there, too. Setting line
widths in imported drawing makes this clear.

The test kit is attachment 83868 from bug 67898.

Affected: all versions starting from 3.5.5.3 up to 4.1.0.4.
Not affected: 3.5.4.2 -> regression.

Tested under Win7x64.

any own update mechanism, and are not allowed to have any. Just saying. Whether

Roman after save and reopen) with Impress version 4.1.0.4 from
ppa:libreoffice/ppa .

My primary difference is that font settings are lost also for the root graphics
style "Default". Highly annoying and makes Impress pretty much unusable for
editing any presentation.

This defect should have much higher priority since it is very basic
functionality that is completely broken.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67919] New: AXMenuButton's should implement AXShowMenu

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67919

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67919
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: AXMenuButton's should implement AXShowMenu
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: m...@dusek.me
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Overview:
Currently it's impossible to show menu of AXMenuButtons with VoiceOver.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Find some enabled AXMenuButton - e.g. the "New" button in Writer toolbar
(usually top-most left-most button in the toolbar area)
2. Move VoiceOver cursor to it (e.g. by turning VoiceOver on by Cmd-F5 and then
pressing F6 once to land on "New selected menu button"
3. Try showing the button's menu (as opposed to pressing it)

Actual results:
There is no way, VO-Shift-M does nothing, VO-Space presses the button

Expected results:
There is a way - VO-Shift-M shows the button menu as opposed to pressing the
button with VO-Space

Regression:
Tested on OS X 10.8.4 with LibreOffice master
(39a78087890fb9255a5e47220bac6cfb956fcfe0)

Notes:
Implementing the AXShowMenu action to show the menu it the way to go.

In Writer, each paragraph forms a standalone AXTextArea. So if one moves cursor
between paragraphs, VoiceOver announces "edit text Insertion on word: can
after character: a ". But from
the perspective of the VoiceOver user, they just moved "one line", so such huge
announcements are unsubstantiated and confusing.

Solution one is to have an AXTextArea for the whole page or even document. That
would be a bit non-trivial to implement.

Other solution is to have separate AXTextArea's like now, but they should not
be isolated - we should group them using AXSharedTextUIElements. E.g. while
Pages has an AXTextArea for each page (or each column on each page), it groups
them all using AXSharedTextUIElements and VoiceOver then behaves as if it was
one huge AXTextArea and does not announce the strange messages.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67917] New: Moving by word right moves to the beginning of next word, not end of current word on OS X

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67917

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67917
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Moving by word right moves to the beginning of next
word, not end of current word on OS X
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: m...@dusek.me
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Summary:
When moving by word right on OS X (e.g. using Option-right arrow), the text
cursor ends right before the first character of the next word instead of right
after the last character of the current word. This is inconsistent with other
apps on OS X and probably causes VoiceOver to also read in a way inconsistent
with other apps on OS X when moving word right.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have this text in Writer: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"
2. Put cursor right before "q" in the word "quick"
3. (optional) Turn on VoiceOver (e.g. using Cmd+F5)
4. Press Option-right arrow to move word right

Expected results:
The cursor ends right after "k" in word "quick" and before the space. If
optional step 3. was taken, then VoiceOver will read word "quick"

Actual results:
The cursor ends right before "b" in word "brown" and after the space. If
optional step 3. was taken, then VoiceOver will read word "brown"

Regression:
Tested on OS X 10.8.4 with LO 4.2 master (commit
39a78087890fb9255a5e47220bac6cfb956fcfe0).

Notes:
LO behavior is inconsistent with how other apps behave - for example of the
apps:
* TextEdit
* Pages
* Mail
* Safari
* TextMate
* pretty much any app on OS X

I also think this is the cause of why VoiceOver reads inconsistently with these
other apps when moving by word right.

What is more "amusing" is that the documentation for -[NSResponder
moveWordRight:] basically says LO way is right even though no OS X app behaves
that way and instead behaves according to "Expected results" above :-)

  Reporter: m...@dusek.me
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master

   Product: LibreOffice

Summary:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have a text in Writer with 2 paragraphs
2. Put text cursor in the first one of them
3. Switch VoiceOver on (Cmd+F5), notice it focuses on the paragraph with
keyboard focus (= first paragraph)
4. Move VoiceOver cursor to the next paragraph (VO-right arrow)

Keyboard focus stays at the current (first) paragraph

Notes:
Ideally all the paragraphs would form a single virtual text area using
AXSharedTextUIElements, but that's another story for a time when more serious
bugs will be fixed.

The bug exists still in LibO 4.1.0.4 (tested on windows 7)

Just open a new presentation, change the slide size to A6 and save the
document. Now close the document and open it again. When you now create a new
slide the text box is too big. Or just look at the master slide ;)

One fix for this bug (as the situation is *now*) would be to include *all*
InfoPlist.strings files in the LibreOffice.app as distributed, and not have
them installed by language pack installers.

We should also start codesigning also the Libreoffice Language Pack.app
bundles.

OS: Linux (All)

  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: Presentation

The following file
https://projects.kde.org/attachments/2/20110319-KDE4.6_release_party-skrooge.odp
crahses LibreOffice 4.1.x and the master when starting the slideshow (F5).
Tested on Ubuntu 12.04 x86-64 with LO 4.1.0.4 (stable release from TDF),
4.1.2.0.0+ (Build ID: 88fec7695f5f3c9574bc305e31120758004493c) and the master
(Build ID: d65c44020bf32713af4985f598f7b532a969247a).
It seems that the problem comes from the fade smoothly transition. If I remove
this transition there is no crash in slide show mode. If I try to add the same
transition I get a crash or a freeze.

Best regards. JBF

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62442

One can use the codesign command to verify that a signed app bundle is intact.
Running it on a LibreOffice.app that has been the target of a language pack
installation, one gets:

lilla-my:~ $ codesign --verify -v LibreOffice.app
LibreOffice.app: a sealed resource is missing or invalid
In architecture: i386
resource added:
/Users/tml/LibreOffice.app/Contents/Resources/sv.lproj/InfoPlist.strings

which indeed makes it clear that installing one or more language packs breaks
the code signature of the app bundle. The "Resources" folder is always included
when calculating the signature of an app bundle.

The language-specific InfoPlist.strings files are quite small and seem contain
translations for the names of the ODF document types:

lilla-my:~ $ iconv -f UTF-16 -t UTF-8

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43533] FILESAVE: line position get lost

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43533

I've reproduced this same behavior in Fedora 19 using Version: 4.1.0.4
Build ID: 4.1.0.4-5.fc19.

However, I found mine with "normal" right angle connectors. This is a very
irritating bug as it starts to make Draw much less useful as it cannot properly
save even slightly complex diagrams.

See my attachment "Testcase using Right Angle Connectors in 4.1.0.4" and
execute the testcase by:

- Open line_format_save_test.odg
- It should look like after.png
- Modify the diagram to look like before.png
- Save the file.
- Close and reopen the file
- It will now look like after.png

Thanks.

File Print Dialog Preview on/off mockup

The page "preview" area in the newer LO print dialog is nice for most users,
most of the time.

However, there are times when the delay required to render that preview is
annoying. It is especially annoying on slow systems, on thin clients, on
complex/big documents, and on users remotely running LO. And the negativity is
compounded since the preview is re-rendered with most UI selection/changes
(printer change, Properties, Page Layout, etc).

There should be a "Preview" on/off checkbox below the page number indicator-
and the setting remembered across sessions. We already have such an option in
the file manager dialog when using Insert->Picture->From File.

I have attached a "before and after" mockup graphic attachment.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62442] OSX 10.8.3 refuses to open LibreOffice

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Well, how do you intend to get around the Gatekeeper prompt when running
LibreOffice from the language pack installer?

Anyway, I am not sure how often the problem here actually can occur. We don't
sign the language pack installer apps, so to be able to run the language pack
installer, the user has already had to either disable Gatekeeper, or know how
to run the language pack installer without Gatekeeper getting into the way. So
then he/she can use the same skill to run the language-pack-modified
LibreOffice without Gatekeeper getting into the way;)

Actually, I find it a bit ugly to modify the app bundle in the language pack
installer. I haven't tried to look it up, but my gut feeling is that installed
app bundles (like LibreOffice.app) should be treated as read-only and not be
scribbled into by the app itself or another app even, as in this case (the
language pack installer app, LibreOffice Language Pack.app).

I think our language pack data should be put somewhere else, like in a
~/Library/LibreOffice Language Packs folder for instance, and then LibreOffice
should simply be changed to look for its language-specific files there instead.
Sounds easy to say of course, I don't know how hard it would be to implement...

Is it impossible to write the separate app to launch LO and quit it before
writing the data into the bundle? If the problem is what it seems to be, that
ought to fix it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67903] New: Print dialog preview in Draw does not update with paper size change

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67903

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67903
CC: jmadero@gmail.com
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Print dialog preview in Draw does not update with
paper size change
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: crx...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Printing and PDF export
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 83836
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83836&action=edit
Screenshot to help illustrate issue

In DRAW ONLY the print dialog preview area is not correctly updating after the
user changes the paper size. I am attaching a screenshot that helps to
illustrate.

Steps to reproduce:

* Create a Draw document
* Set page size to Tabloid/11x17
* Optionally place a full page object on the page
* File->Print
* Notice the preview is for Letter/8.5x11 sized, since that is the default
paper size for the printer
* Go under properties and change the paper size to Tabloid/11x17
* Select "OK" and notice that the preview area is still Letter/8.5x11 sized

This problem does not occur in Writer or Calc, which both seem to preview based
on the page size, not the paper size. There doesn't appear to be a "correct"
way to handle this whole situation, but it should at least be consistent for
all modules.

Shift problem is Bug 67774, so this one is only about wrong spacing in cells.

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62442

So is the consensus that the actual problem is that if the language pack
installer is run on a newly downloaded (and copied to the hard disk)
LibreOffice.app before it has been run once, the unpacking of the language pack
data into the app bundle "destroys" its integrity, and Gatekeeper will refuse
to run it?

If we continue to distribute langage packs in this fashion, as separate apps
that store data into the app bundle, there is not much we can do about this
problem.

FWIW I can confirm that reverting 2ea69ec976fa7bb681746c6580753ce1b8ea
makes it fit the window again, which isn't to say that the commit is wrong,
perhaps we need to adapt the about box use of the svg in some way to make it
fit right ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 55698] PDF export makes gradient transparent

2013-08-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55698

well, Adobe Reader is not the only one for sure... however I can tell you that
even a very old AR 7.0 release nicely display the "PDF exported from Draw
document" test file and even a Foxit Reader 5.4 does a nice job.

InkScape output seems to be more compatible than LibO output but I'm not sure
LibO must be blamed if some PDF reader cannot correctly read what other PDF
software read with no trouble.

at least I think it's not LibO 100% fault...
this is just my opinion.
