If it's a matter of simplifying and cleaning up a web-page, it'd be fantastic
to get this MAB closed with a few web edits :-) Any chance of that Christian ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68465] New: EDITING: Paste into search box puts pasted text into spreadsheet instead

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68465

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68465
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Paste into search box puts pasted text into
spreadsheet instead
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: ra...@cs.cf.ac.uk
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Pasting while the search box at the foot of the document is selected results in
text incorrectly being pasted into the spreadsheet instead.

Steps to reproduce:
Select the search box at the foot of the document
Paste (using the menu OR command-V)

Current behavior:
Text incorrectly gets pasted into the spreadsheet itself in the last used cell

Expected behavior:
Text should get pasted into the search box, if the search box has been selected

It is clear that the target of typing, and the target of pasting should ALWAYS
be the same.

This bug may have been present in earlier versions too.

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.1.0.4 release

I gave this a try, but it appears thought that this does not work with the KDE
filemenu active. When started with the backtrace option Libreoffice just
crashes for me when wanting to open the file menu, by clicking on "Save".
I have attached that backtrace, but I guess it wont help, but may be you can
tell me how to create usable backtrace anyway.

No extensions, everything done in a basic manner. Dates by hand. Formatting
also. I think two separate spreadsheets led to two separate crashes, both set
up equally plainly. I was really surprised that the finder also went down.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a LibreOffice writer window

the "Find" window. (This behavior is annoying but is not a bug...)

Justin:
- do you reproduce this with a brand new file (with just the word "test" in
it)?
- did you install any specific fonts?
- did you install any LO specific extensions?
- do you use specific export PDF options or by default ones?
- could you rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile) and give it a new try?

BTW, Tommy's comment was for the record. I mean, by default we don't know if a
bug concerns every environment or not.

The Ravin: if you prefer not testing portable version, you can rename your LO
directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile).
It'll allow to know if the bug is due to LO customization.

For the rest, I confirm there may have some false positives about virus, just
take a look to this list:

I had different but similar problem, bottom parts of font display truncated. I
took screenshot with DejaVu Serif font, other fonts have same behavior.

Maybe those generated from same root cause. Tested on LO 3.6.7 with 1366x768 &
1024x768 resolution (as far as I remember that occurs since previous 3.5.7 or
3.6.x release)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68459] New: EDITING: frames are jumping and impossible to position correctly.

2013-08-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68459

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68459
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: frames are jumping and impossible to position
correctly.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: mango.wod...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 84483
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=84483&action=edit
one .odt file with sample text and instructions to see the bug.

Problem description: Using frames in a large document together with footnotes,
and they cannot be always positioned where one wants.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create small frames with notes at right side of page.
2. document has footnotes with references at bottom of each page
3. click on side of frame, so it is selected.
4. Use up arrow key and down arrow keys

Current behavior:

As you click up arrow, the frame moves up steadily until the first paragraph on
page, when it suddenly jumps to the previous page and lans in the "footer" area
of that page. Try to press down arrow again, and it doesn't budge at all. If
the frame is too small, and the frame totally below the footnote line, and the
cursor focused onto the main text area, one can no longer move the frame at
all. (I have to "control+enter" after the previous paragraph, in order to force
it back to the follow on page).

Expected behavior:

I expect the up arrow to move the frame up to any place on the page until I
reach the top, and then for it to jump to the previous page. I also expect the
down arrow to move it back to the page it came from.

Ther is another connected bug, when a frame is deleted from within the
footnote area, I am automatically taken back to the very first page of the
document.
Operating System: Windows 7

This bug is reproducible on gnome-shell in ubuntu 13.10, which handles now
keyboard events with the new gnome-settings-daemon instead of directing them to
X. It is indeed a crucial issue for all of us who happen to work with a
non-latin language.

The plot thickens: http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=14699

This means that, with recent enough glibc, NAME_MAX+1 will be enough, even if a
fuse filesystem decides to return a longer filename (glibc will manufacture an
error instead of overflowing in that case). That is, with recent enough glibc,
using "struct dirent" directly will be enough, as in my patch.

Sorry I'dont know is necesary to translate to english.

LibreOffice when I try to export a presentation (ODP) of 11 slides, it takes
much time to generate the output (PDF Format), but at the end to see the PDF
file; This only has one page blank; being the size about 29 Kb.

The same file opened with the version Portable (4.1.0.4), leads after a few
seconds to a few 3´73 Mb PDF file, which is correct at openened all its
content; He had previously done the same with LibreOffice 4.0.4 version. and
the result was also a PDF blank of the same size.

I cannot explain the difference; I've tried the same file with OpenOffice 4,
and the result is again correct as LibreOffice Portable.

I wouldn't like them enabled by default (in many cases, they would just be
unnecessary clutter).
However, iWork shows paragraph symbols on text highlight, indicating whether
you're selecting the line break or not. Perhaps we could do that?

> Also, how about using the normal selection colour (in most cases that's
> blue, maybe except on Ubuntu where it's orange) at half the opacity as the
> colour?

I'm a bit concerned about the visibility of the characters. I'm not sure we can
always rely on the selection color providing enough contrast, especially at 50%
opacity. A single solid color would be easier to manage if bugs were to arise.

I can suggest the color #6abed3 for now, but please feel free to suggest
different ones.
