On closer reading, I realise that I've not noticed such a checkbox option as Only text. Didn't know its existence until now! I confirm the bug on LO 4.1.0.2. Furthermore, I need to add that there's no need (at least in this version) to copy the selection and paste in the right with box. Just highlighting the selection and activating AutoCorrect Options will have the selection automatically pasted in the said box. Also, the button is (now) labeled New (not Replace). Internal and external HSQLDB-databases could be opened at the same time. If this is possible by only some lines of code in a macro for the external database I don't know, why it should not be possible to do the same in the internal code. There must only be a point which says to LO: For internal databases use the hsqldb.jar in the internal path of LO and it would work. We couldn't say, that this is a wontfix-candidate. Hurlbut temla...@gmail.com --- I finally found a resolution. In Linux, any user has a hidden configuration directory that forms automatically. Mine must have gotten corrupted somewhere along the way. (I never had this problem when I did fresh installs on my platform.) So on another user's advice, I took these steps: 1. Rename the configuration directory from LibreOffice to LibreOffice-backup so LO can't find it. (But so I can find it again if I have to.) 2. Open LO and open any document. Result: LO rebuilds the configuration directory and files from scratch--and Find-and-Replace behaves as expected. I don't know how the configuration directory got corrupted, or why that should cause a Find-and-Replace problem. Maybe the configuration became obsolete from one build to the next. Anyway, that's my fix. Thought you all should know. In Writer, if sidebar shows e.g. Styles Formatting pane at first, and I then switch it to show the Properties pane, then the units for spacing and indent boxes are (inches) for half a second and then switch to cm. If the numeric value is not 0, then that is converted, too, although the result is a bit off, compared to Format - Paragraph dialog: if I set e.g. 0.55 cm space below paragraph via Format - Paragraph, and then switch sidebar to Properties pane, it shows first 0.00, then 0.22 and then 0.56 cm. In addition, paragraph fill colour switches from blue to none on the sidebar (no paragrah fill colour is set). In Calc, the text rotation box and cell background colour misbehave in a similar way. I'm using 4.1.1.2 .deb-files from TDF, but this behaviour is also visible in 4.1.0.0.beta2 and most likely already earlier.
