The result of Apache openoffice 4.0

I test this problem with Apache Openoffice 4.0 under Linux.
I found the result of Apache Openoffice 4.0 was the same with Libreoffice 4.0.
There must be something wrong in Libreoffice 4.1 under Linux.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68693] New: EDITING: Daten/ Gültigkeit

2013-08-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68693

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68693
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: EDITING: Daten/Gültigkeit
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: i...@ritter-it.net
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
The creation of a "Gültigkeitsbereich"[Valid value range] using a list of
values does not function any longer.

Note: Since I don't know the englisch UI of LO, I'll use the German expressions
and try to give a translation in []-brackets. Hope, that this is ok.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a new spreadsheet.

2. In cell A1 choose call menu entry "Daten/Gültigkeit".
   [Data/Validity]

3. In the dialog box "Gültigkeit"[Validity] set the value of the field
"Zulassen"[Allow] to "Liste"[List].

4. In the entry-box "Einträge"[Entries] insert the following values and
keystrokes:

   "a" "b" "c" "d"

5. Leave the dialog box by clicking "OK".

Current behavior:
Like expected, if you click into A1, at the right side of the cell A1 appears
the drop-down-symbol. But if you click on it, nothing happens, no list drops
down.
Besides this, the before entered values (a, b, c, d) won't be accepted, you get
the error message "Der eingegebene Wert ist ungültig"[The entered value ist
invalid].

If you enter again the dialog "Gültigkeit"[Validity], the entry-box "Einträge"
contains four empty lines (you can check this by walking down the list with the
cursor key). The before inserted values are vanished.

Expected behavior:
The cell A1 accepts only the values a,b,c, d or nothing (empty). If you click
on the drop-down-symbol, a list appears, from which you can choose between
these values.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68663] Label in first column of diagram don't works in reportbuilder

--- Comment #13 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de ---
OK, what I found is another bug. Forget comment4 and 6.

I see the right behavior in the preview, when I will edit the report. Then I
doubble-click on the chart. The charts show values without connection to the
first column. I could change the "Data Ranges" and set "First column as label"
off. Now the chart shows the right behavior. Saved the report. Start the
report, had a look: the information has been gone. Again opening the report for
editing and see: "Data Range" is set to "First column as label". Seems this
property hasn't been saved.

All this you could only notice, when you create x/y-charts. Its the same wrong
behavior in all versions of LO - have tested LO 3.3.4 with the same result.

Same problem as described, but reproduced even with a "short" document (e.g., a
2-page document in Writer, but same in Calc, not tested in others). When the
vertical scroll bar goes down (almost half the document), the shape do not
correspond to the clickable area.
It is more evident in large documents, of course. In large documents, the
scroll bar behaves properly only above 1/4 of the bar.
Using MacOS 10.8, but it also happened in 10.7 at the least, and since
Libreoffice 3.x (not quite sure when I first noticed).

I consider this is an important issue. It is annoying enough to prevent unaware
users from using Writer, for instance.

No, please. I can tell you this bug has been annoying me really a lot. Maybe
some users do not click at the vertical scroll bar at all, but I use it
constantly to revise documents in Writer. It makes the scroll bar unusable even
in rather short documents.

This kind of bugs gives a very bad impression of the product to MacOS users.
Not to me, but to standard users that just want to write a document, not filing
an error and patiently waiting for it to be solved.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67464

I have just checked and SVG does not render properly in writer, neither in
screen nor when exporting to PDF. If this is the way to go (I mean, converting
to SVG and then rendering) it means two problems must be solved. It seems there
is some literature on eps2svg, and inskcape imports correctly (ie: converts to
SVG) although some human interaction is requested.

Actually ctrl + enter used to work by default for line break in calc
(spreadsheet) by default earlier in 4.0.x versions. This was not a custom
setting but default.

Also I am not able to open Menu > Tools > Customize at all on Linux. It does
not bring up any dialog box.

If I understand correctly the minimal unit on the ruler should be 1/8 inch -
currently the minimal unit is 1/10 inch. If this is the problem I have already
made the adjustments necessary in my local build. The change needed is small so
I guess there should not be any problem to bring the change to the next 4.1 and
4.0 release.

Regarding your poor design remarks you have to understand that most of
developers aren't used to use imperial units and don't know the norms there -
so this is where we also rely on users to tell us if there is something wrong.

as said before in Windows (4.1.0, 4.0.4 and also 3.6.7) on clean user profile
Ctrl+Enter has no assigned function in Calc. I tested with italian
localization, I don't know if other localizations may have a different keyboard
setup... which one do you use?

> Also I am not able to open Menu > Tools > Customize at all on Linux. It does

this seems the most important bug here and I thinks you should file a separate
report for it... you should be able to open that menu...

anyway LibO 4.1.1 final has been released today... try installing this version
and see it fixes things

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68396] Messed up styles and formatting dialog with subsequent crash

2013-08-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68396

I managed to replicate it using a fresh document.

Here's a screencast.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B75pW_mdMdLXRVVYenRtWUpac1U/edit?usp=sharing

The garbled styles dialog does not occur with 4.2.0.0, but the crash does.

After recording the screencast I found that
- it's not necessary to enter any text
- it's not necessary to change style to "default style"
- it doesn't matter which style is edited
- it doesn't matter if the OK or Cancel button is used for closing the style
dialog

What is crucial for the crash to happen is:
- Nested tables
- The style dialog has to be opened using the "styles and formatting" window.
When using "Edit paragraph style" using the context menu (which opens the same
dialog) the crash will not occur.
- The context menu has to be opened and closed after the style dialog was
closed. The crash will not occur unless the context menu has been closed.

There might be other paths to replicate it, but this is what I found for now.

In case --with-system-boost is used to build LO, the boost version should be

AFAIK this check happens in core/m4/ax_boost_base.m4.
ATM it checks for boost >= 1.20

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47807] EDITING Style changes do not (always) react on undo

2013-08-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Michael Stahl changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||cedric.bosdonnat.ooo@free.f
   ||r, mst...@redhat.com
   Keywords|regression |

cannot reproduce the problem in comment #2, works fine here:

1. enter text and select
2. open stylist
3. apply "Footer" para style
4. modify "Footer"
5. change Font, OK
6. Undo
7. modify "Footer", old font is back (also in document view)

btw this appears to be a different problem (no Undo on OK/Apply)
than what is in the description,
so even if i'm doing it wrong please open a new bug for that.

regarding description:

> 8. Close the dialog selecting "Cancel"
> 9. Note that the undo icon does not have record of this change (THIS IS BUG
> #2).

of course if you cancel the dialog then no changes are made,
so why do you expect an Undo action for that?
Undo should only be created on clicking Apply or OK, which is working.

> 2. Modify a child style (for example Footer) by making any change (for
> example change the font to 20pt).
> 3. Select "Apply".
> 4. Go to the "Organizer" tab of the dialog and notice that "Contains" field
> is blank (THIS IS BUG #1, which I can confirm on WinXP32 right now).

so the Organizer tab is updated right when changing the Font, before
clicking "Apply" (i.e. it apparently displays the content of the dialog,
not the current content of the style), but clicking "Apply" appears
to clear it.

agree it's not a regression if older versions have no "Apply" button.

I have no printer available at the moment so I cannot test.

however are you still seeing this bug with your LibO?
which version do you use: 4.1.0.4 as indicated in the version field or an
earlier release?

you set platform to "all"... do you mean that you saw that bug on Windows,
Linux and Mac, or just one of those O/S?

Paste
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: mikko.ve...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Way to reproduce:
1. Copy (Ctrl-C) the content of one cell (preferably somewhere in the middle of
different full cells)
2. Go to another cell
3. Paste (Ctrl-V) and see that the content has been pasted and that this cell
is now selected
4. Press Shift and Right/Left/Up/Down arrow buttons to select neighbouring
cells.
5. See that the selection goes terribly wrong, selecting all the cells to the
very top.

 Fantastic !

Will try messing around with the collation and charsets.

I now recall getting bitten by a similar problem with OOo2.1 on OSX 10.3 or
10.4 many years ago, but at least at that time I still got data retrieval, even
if I couldn't send modified or new data to the server.

2013-08-29 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68487

Hi.

I had the same problem while creating a text document (LibreOffice 4.1.0.4 +
Win7 x64) on drive C:, in the folder "My Documents". The document included a
32-bit PNG image (509kb) stored on drive E: which is not indexed by Windows
Search Filter Host. It took about 1 minute to save the ODT file. Then I changed
the picture in the ODT to the same in 8 bits (same folder on E:, not indexed).
The saving was instantaneous, even if the ODT was stored in a place checked by
Windows Search Filter Host (e.g. "My Documents").

I also tried to save the document with the 32 bits PNG image in a folder which
is _not_ indexed by Windows and it saved it instantly !

Might it be due to the .~lock file ? Does WSFH tries to open the file in
read+write mode while the .~lock file is present, causing a latency ?
I preferred to stop Windows' file indexation for the moment. Good luck for
solving this case.

I noticed a crash in Writer which is quite serious, I'd say critical. I get if
as following:
- open new empty doc. in Writer

- press Undo
- there is a crash

it is nvidia Quadro 1000M and Intel HD Graphics 3000 in an Lenovo 520W.

Other programs on my computer do not have issues at this resolution. So
I think it might not be driver related.

Maureen,

I'm sorry that you are having problems with your printer, but your comment
doesn't help us get any further :

- is it the same printer as the one reported here originally ? If not, then
please open a separate new bug report and give details.

As you mention Wordpad, then I can only assume that you are on Windows. This
present report deals with a problem on Mac OSX connecting to a networked HP
OfficeJet 6500. Unless you have the same printer, you are commenting in the
wrong place.

Looks to me that problem doesn't occur in 4.0.4.2 and 4.1.0.2 on Ubuntu, so
it'd be recent just like bug

(In reply to comment #9)

At least on Linux, as also indicated here :

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/users/2011-June/399646.html

so this may well be Mac specific.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67223] UI: problem changing font with drop down from Formatting toolbar, if target area is not already all one font: selection in dropdown jumps up when using the mouse

I'm confused by Michael Stahl's post today (I don't understand how this problem
is a duplicate of bug 63273), but the problem I reported does seem to be fixed
in version 4.0.5.2.

Thank you.

Jan Holesovsky changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME

So this is possible in LibreOffice by using

toolbar:style="image text"

in the toolbar.xml; like eg.

Closing as worksforme; please reopen if you want to track the actual adding of
the text to the respective buttons.

Best if the design team does it themselves - all you need to do is to clone the
LibreOffice repository, find the toolbar.xml's using eg.

find . -name 'toolbar.xml'

edit them (add the toolbar:style="image text" where you want to have the text
too), and push the changes to gerrit. We'll review / merge from there.
