So NOTABUG. Fixed would be if an actual code change fixed this.

Michael, the unreadable output during uninstallation shows up even in a very
plain Latin script -using Windows XP installation. I have seen it myself and I
used a Swedish XP, and I certainly don't know Syriac or other complex script
languages and had not set XP to use any such.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69632] New: V. 1.0.6: Porting LibreOffice Impress remote to Firefox OS platform

2013-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69632
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: V. 1.0.6: Porting LibreOffice Impress remote to
Firefox OS platform
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: other
  Reporter: diaz.bast...@ymail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Android Impress Remote
   Product: LibreOffice

This is a request for LO impress remote developers.

Really, Impress remote is a great tool and I is essential when making
presentations to my students.

However, it would be good to support the new Firefox OS platform, a platform
that truly free and gradually be available to the public as a more economical
alternative.

I do not know the direct implications, but support an application through web
technology, could be an amazing base for other uses of this tool (remote
presentation with WebRTC?)

It may not be a priority, but I hope to be considered for your to do list.

Thanks

yes...it still doesn't print correctly in landscape. It prints English
text the same way...in portrait, not landscape. I have checked both the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69630] New: Possible incomplete registry modification

2013-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69630

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69630
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Possible incomplete registry modification
  Severity: critical
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: a...@core.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

For Windows 7 Home Premium both cases explained below.
I installed 4.1.1.2 update in a Dell XPS8700 desktop with no problem.
Then I went to my ASUS netbook which had version 4.1.0. I downloaded and
installed 4.1.1.2 but it won't run. It complains msvcrt100.dll cannot be found.
Well, msvcrt100.dll definitely is in C;\Windows\system32.

In addition, I believe but I can't prove now that using Windows 7 Home Premium
DOS PROMPT and commanding "telnet" used to work until I did the 4.1.1.2 update.
Now the netbook says that telnet from that command line won't work because
telnet does not exist. I followed Windows 7 instructions to re-enable telnet
but I get the same message. YET I can run C:\Windows\System32\telnet.exe with
no trouble but that's the hard way to start telnet.

I am interpreting these several problems and symptoms to 4.1.1.2 in x32
in Windows 7 Home Premium having incompletely rebuilt the registry. I could be
wrong but that's what I think it is.

So after these problems, I installed the latest Apache OpenOffice and it runs
fine. But the LO 4.1.1.2 problem still exists afterwards. I am fearful of what
else 4.1.1.2 might have broken.

i highlight some numbers from a range and note all the numbers have a "tick"
quote before them (ie, ' ).

I want to do a find all and replace with nothing. Find and replace reports the
tick mark (ie ' ) isn't there! but it's on every number when i select the
cells.

I can manually backspace-delete the tick..that works but find and replace no
can do.

I thought this was way past beta version of calc in linux mint, yet am finding
very basic errors.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69603] writer hangs going to second page

2013-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

typescript with backtrace from warning "missing next new upper"

I confirm that LibreOffice hangs when would move the caret
into page two of the attached file. Indeed, it pegs the CPU so hard
that my entire desktop became unresponsive. So, best to try this
running LibreOffice at low priority.

During the loop, LibreOffice filled the terminal buffer with the
message (newline added):

warn:legacy.osl:3161:1:sw/source/core/layout/flowfrm.cxx:2526:
 - missing next new upper

The attached typescript around line 335 has a backtrace from the
warning.

My LibreOffice is master commit 9e969eb, fetched 2013-09-03,
configured with:

--enable-option-checking=fatal
--enable-dbgutil
--enable-crashdump
--without-system-postgresql
--without-myspell-dicts
--without-help
--with-extra-buildid
--without-doxygen
--with-external-tar=/home/terry/lo_hacking/git/src
--disable-werror

built on ubuntu-natty (11.04) 32-bit, running on ubuntu-quantal
(12.10) 64-bit.

HTH,
Terry.

DOCX containing 'Table-of-Contents'

Problem description:
When loading a DOCX in LO that has a table-of-contents (ToC) in it - and
exporting it back to DOCX - it loses some of the ToC's flags.
The flags in questions are:
'\h' - Inserts TOC entries as hyperlinks.
'\z' - Hides tab leader and page numbers in Web layout view.
'\u' - Builds a table of contents by using the applied paragraph outline level.

The flags info was from this page:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/word-help/field-codes-toc-table-of-contents-field-HP005186201.aspx

Steps to reproduce:
1. Load the attached DOCX in LO
2. Save as NEW.DOCX
3. Examine the NEW.DOCX's 'document.xml' file
4. Table-of-contents flags are missing

Current behavior:
LO should loses the table-of-contents flags

Expected behavior:
LO should preserve the table-of-contents flags

Note:
It would be nice to support *ALL* flags that 'ToC' might have,
but this bug is about these 3 specific flags that are in the attached DOCX.

In addition,
the '\o' flag is not preserved.

>From the link
http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/word-help/field-codes-toc-table-of-contents-field-HP005186201.aspx

'\o' ==> Builds a table of contents from paragraphs formatted with built-in
heading styles. For example, { TOC \o "1-3" } lists only headings formatted
with the styles Heading 1 through Heading 3. If no heading range is specified,
all heading levels used in the document are listed. Enclose the range numbers
in quotation marks.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: pasqual.milvaq...@gmail.com

ms word file with mail merge fields (.doc version)

mail merge fields are correctly read by libreoffice in .doc/.dot files but this
compatibility seems to broken in .docx/.dotx files

when a mail merge field from a .docx file is read by libreoffice is displayed
as plain text

I have checked it using ms office 2007 to convert a document between .doc and
.docx formats and the problem seems to be in libreoffice. I pass the documents
as test case

the first libreoffice version in which I have seen the problem is 3.6.3 but in
4.1.1 the problem is still present

best regards

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69609] New: registrymodification.xcu in presets folder not copied to newly created profiles.

2013-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69609

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 69609
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: registrymodification.xcu in presets folder not copied
to newly created profiles.
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: jl...@mail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

When a user starts LibreOffice for the first time, the
~/.config/libreoffice/4/user folder is created from the contents of
/usr/lib/libreoffice/presets folder. However, if IT puts a customized
registrymodifications.xcu file in the presets folder, it is not copied or
merged into the "fresh" one that is created. This is true in the two OS's I
tested: windows (4.0.0.3) and linux (4.1.1).

I don't know if this file is excluded by design or if LibreOffice has already
created and opened a fresh config file before beginning to populate the new
profile with the presets version (in which case the presets' version would
probably fail to overwrite the open file).

My expectation is that it would be copied over and not excluded. Since the
purpose of the presets folder is to allow IT to define standard configurations
and registrymodifications.xcu is the main location of customized configuration
settings, I consider this to be a fairly serious bug from a corporate
perspective.

Clarification of reproduction:

1. background of the page has a picture of the whole area.
2. write any text in the document
3. in addition, an image with transparency insert, like a signature (gif, png)!
4. creating a PDF
5. confirm the dialogue that transparency is removed

When you open this PDF in Acrobat Reader you can see the text only for a short
moment. After completely loading the file the text an the image disappears. You
only see the image from the background.

This effect does not occur if no additional transparency image is inserted.

Test with the example file.

I tried this again in 4.1.1.2. F5 starts from slide 1, Shift-F5 starts from the
current slide in the editor, whether I tick or untick the box "Always with
current page" ( I did a restart on Impress) but at all time this tick remains
set so cannot be cleared at all.
Shift-F5 as an option to invoke the slide at the current position in the editor
is still not mentioned in the help files. I think it would be a good idea to
simply remove the setting and add an icon in the toolbar that invokes Shift-F5
as ade2 suggested.

As you can see from that log (line 34), it uses Visual C++ 2012, which comes
with SDK 8.0 according to
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/chuckw/archive/2012/08/15/visual-studio-2012-and-windows-8-0-sdk-rtm-are-now-available.aspx.

Also according to
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vcblog/archive/2012/10/08/10357555.aspx, Visual Studio
2012 Update 1 contains a repacked version of previous SDK (7.1) which can be
used with VC 2012 to target WinXP.

Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.5.1 rc
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Hyperlink, that contains German Umlauts (like ä, ö, ü) will not be recognized
as URLs.

1. write: find more information on the city on www.münchen.de.
www.münchen.de (even http:\\www.münchen.de) will not be recognized as a
hyperlink.
2. If you do it by insert > hyperlink, enter www.münchen.de it will noch work
(error occurs, note like "the URL could not be handed over to an
application..." sorry, I only get a German note)
Workaround to 2: you have to insert as destination "http:\\www.münchen.de" this
works.

If the automatic detection of URL is activated, then ANSI URLs should be
convertet to hyperlinks.

Maxim,
the question about the operating system arises whenever there is no log
assembly. The Win-x86@39 does not contain such the file
(build-name_build_info.txt). I have to guess what is the reason for the failure
start.
