Behaviour for this bug has improved under MacOS running LO v4.1.2.2 Build ID:

example ODT (using LO) to DOC and DOCX and opening these files under the
indicated versions of LO and Word version shows:

File Open Problems

DOCWord a. Endnotes positioned on wrong (first) page.
  b. First endnote has carriage return and tab between
 identifier and text.
  c. Footnote and endnotes all display[1] with a leading tab.
DOCLO Only (b) as above.
DOCX Word Only (a) and (c) as above.
DOCX LO d. Visible tab character prior to text of each footnote/endnote.

[1] Whether this is merely a display issue I am uncertain.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70024] New: FORMATTING: New autocorrect entries lose formatting [Regression]

2013-10-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70024

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70024
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: New autocorrect entries lose formatting
[Regression]
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: luke...@btconnect.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

New autocorrect entries are forced as text only regardless of the text-only
tick box status. All formatting is lost when creating new entries. This used to
work in older versions of OpenOffice (circa 2009), but does not work in later
versions or LibreOffice

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select formatted text on page (Formatted differently so you can tell if it
has worked later)
2. Tools - AutoCorrect options, add a new replace entry. (Make sure text
only is not ticked)
3. Go back to document and use the autocorrect entry
4. Observe the custom formatting is lost and the new text has same formatting
as current document.

Current behavior:
Formatting is lost even when text only is not ticked.

Expected behavior:
(From help page)

You can use the AutoCorrect feature to apply a specific character format to a
word or abbreviation. Select the formatted text in your document, open this
dialog, clear the Text only box, and then enter the text that you want to
replace in the Replace box.

 With:
Enter the replacement text, graphic, frame, or OLE object that you want to
replace the text in the Replace box. If you have selected text, a graphic, a
frame, or an OLE object in your document, the relevant information is already
entered here.

Text only:
Saves the entry in the With box without formatting. When the replacement is
made, the text uses the same format as the document text.

Problem description: A MS Word docx file was opened in LibreOffice 4.1.1.2. The
date field in the text - which normally sits in a single cell, aligned right,
is placed in a line and aligned left.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open testdocument.docx in LibreOffice 4.1.1.2

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open testdocument.docx in LibreOffice.
2. Open testdocument.docx in MS Office.

Bug 67743 relates to adding new entries, I can add new AutoCorrect entries, but
they lose all formatting (font size, colour, style, line breaks etc) and use
the formatting of the document instead.

I installed Version: 4.1.2.3 Build ID: 40b2d7fde7e8d2d7bc5a449dc65df4d08a7dd38

Sorry, can not confirm.

With LO 4.1.2.3, on Windows 7-64 the replacement of € symbol works correctly.
All cell content remains intact.

Correct from either simple field and replace all, or done with the regular
expression check box.

FWIW functions correctly the same with current LODev 4.2.0alpha+

Can you provide a better test case of what you perceive is wrong? Otherwise
resolving WFM.

On the same sample file do a Find and Replace and Find . (period) and Replace
with , (comma)

In my system (forgot to mention it is Windows XP x86 en_US) all characters
(other than space) are replaced with a comma.

This bug also affects the new 4.0.6.1 release

Can you replicate this? If it doesn't happen on your system then it might be a
Windows XP bug?

Please do not close this until further verification.

Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at position

Hi,

Calc files somehow can corrupt like this. There is a solution I've faced this
before.

Change the file extension to zip and extract it.

Open the content.xml with Emacs or other XML editors showing errors, carefully
delete the error giving tags save it and re-zip the extraction. Rename the zip
extension to ods.

You may find similar solutions on internet.

If you cannot recover, you may send the file to me and i can try(probably
tomorrow night).

Also you may see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68543

Updating this with some info and good news: FILE IS WORKING AGAIN! :)

 Super-happy.

If anybody runs into a similar problem here are the steps that worked for me:

 1) Open a Terminal and navigate to the folder where you keep the corrupted
 ods.
 2) Now create a new folder named 'repair' and cd to it:
  mkdir repair
  cd repair/
 3) Now extract the files with the following command:
  unzip ../corrupted.ods
 4) The folder 'repair' now contains several files folders, including
'content.xml' which you should edit (you don't need a special XML editor,
you can use every text editor). DON'T touch the other files in that
 directory!
 5) Now we're going to create the repaired file:
  zip -r ../repaired.ods ./*

I had to find replace a ton of entries and make sure to only delete every
second entry (which was causing the problem in the first place.

That's why i suggest you to use EMACS to mark XML Errors automatically and you
may easily delete the error giving lines. Next time try it (i hope you will not
face it again) ;)

To Maxim, Jorendc, Reisi007 and Zeki: you guys have been super responsive
and I'm really thankful that you all were willing to help me out.

This is a great community! :)

Thanks, thats the community :)

I can't open .doc files in LibreOffice 4.1* releases running Xubuntu 12.04.
Instead, I get the general error message referencing script.xlb. I have tried
most of the fixes I found online -- corrupt profile, replacing script.xlb --
and none worked.

This bug appeared mysteriously after running 4.1.1.2 for a week or so without
any problem. I had a file open that I had created and saved as a .doc file, and
went to open an older .doc file. That's when I got the error message.

I uninstalled 4.1.1.2 and installed 4.1.0.4 and the same thing happened. I
uninstalled 4.1.0.4 and installed 4.0.5.2 and all seems to be working.

I can confirm it with LibreOffice 4.1.1.2. I've tried to open the file with
Gnumeric and the file opens normally, no error messages, no format erros, no
performance problems.

If you resave the file with Gnumeric in ods format, LO can open the file
without any problems.

As far as i know Microsoft's ODF version causes this warning, but i dont know
is it possible to corrupt the file in saving process.

Can not reproduce in LibreOffice 4.1.2.3 Ubuntu 13.04 X86.

I reported this as a Windows bug so it doesn't make sense that you close it
 because it works under Ubuntu.

There are normally no pure Windows bugs in that part of the code. Actually that
sounds like a bug that was fixed in 4.1.2.3 and was a regression in 4.1.2.2.

Comparison of the chart in Excel 2010 and LibreOffice 4.1.1.2

Checked with LibreOffice 4.1.1.2(portable) Not better than previous ones. Also
the color is missing now. untreaded and treated has now come and title borders
are better but still the tile level is cut by 2,5.

You may see the difference in screenshot, Excel 2010 vs LibreOffice

I was not closing this bug, just posting a comment. Before I was posting I
noticed that this bug was closed as WFM and when I was posting It became New so
I just trying to set what it was. This is my mistake.

For this bug report, Pedro will you please make sure that in your find and
replace window the Regular Expression option is not checked?

When you replace . with (blank) and the Regular Expression option is on,
everything in the cells is replaced as blank. (replace . with , will
replace everything as ,).

@Pedro,

Sorry, but I can not reproduce either of your test cases with your sample
document if running under 32-bit Windows XP Pro (en-US) as guest OS on VMWare
Workstation

LibreOffice
Version: 4.1.2.3
Build ID: 40b2d7fde7e8d2d7bc5a449dc65df4d08a7dd38

Unable to reproduce either test case with your sample document and steps as
noted. The € sign (or € sign and following spaces) are correctly copied,
pasted into the Search for box, and are replaced with any entry (or blank) as
made in the Replace with box.

Following replacements cells may then be auto formatted to column general data
format. Or if columns set to 2 place decimal numeric, right justified--correct
replacement, never any data loss/corruption.

And replacing . with , only affects the single . and no other
manifestation (e.g. you space - comma issue).

So, using the CTL+H Find Replace - Replace All does not corrupt data in
any fashion. Simply not seeing issues in either Windows XP or Windows 7 64-bit
OS installs. Do you make any changes to the auto-correct? Did you remove your
per-user configuration prior to first use so you start with a default profile?

Sorry, but again resetting Resolved WFM.

I just upgraded to 4.1.1.2 and found that I couldn't open the application. The
OS reported that the installation was corrupted. I did a fresh download (as I'd
already deleted the DMG files) and tried again, with the same result. I then
tried installing the application without subsequently applying the en-GB
language pack. All was well. I conclude that installation of the language pack
is causing the corruption.

If you open the attached .odg, select all, export to PNG, export selected only,

It looks like a slight miscalculation of the pixel area that would be taken up

@Kendy,

A bit late, but got around today to doing an /A administrative install of TB 39

Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 0d0d3a0540dad2d0f417e21df1183dfc33964357
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2013-09-30_23:58:26

I'd installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86),
11.0.60610.1, signed June 10 2013.

But on launch I am receiving error:

soffice.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point GetTickCount64 could not be located in the dynamic
link library KERNEL32.dll

Looks to be the same issue as OP, but on 32-bit XP. So question if the TB 39
build system has the Visual Studio Update 3 apparently needed to support
Windows XP builds, and if the _WIN32_WINNT declaration is set correctly?
Should we be able to run this on 32-bit Windows XP? If so what C++ runtime is
needed if not the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 3

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69649] FILEOPEN: Import DOCX renders page numbers wrong in Table-of-Contents

--- Comment #2 from Adam CloudOn rattles2...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #1)
It looks like you reported the bug twice.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 69655 ***

Thomas. This is not a duplicate.
Bug 69655 talks about the level of the Table-of-Contents, meaning - in the
original file you have in the ToC - 'Heading 1', 'Heading 1.1' etc.. and in the
exported file you only have the first level ('Heading 1', 'Heading 2', etc..)

Bug 69649 talks about the actual page numbers in the ToC that are being
imported wrong.
In the original file the page number of the last entry is page #15, and in the
file imported by LO - the page number of the last page is page #16.

So these are 2 different import bugs (that both relate to Table-of-Contents).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69655] FILEOPEN: DOCX import of Table-of-Contents renders the ToC's levels wrong

2013-10-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

*** Bug 69649 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

Thomas. These are not duplicates.

Hello,

I reproduced a crash on Win7 with LibO Version: 4.1.2.3
Build ID: 40b2d7fde7e8d2d7bc5a449dc65df4d08a7dd38

1. Create a spreadsheet similar to CrashPivotTable.ods
   a. create a table with text in column A (Data1), and values in column B
(Data2)
   b. select table, Data Pivot Table Create, Current selection
   c. set Data1 from column A in Row Field, Data2 from column B in Data Field,
with sum
   d. filter Data1 with only some values (for instance only A)
= table is reduced from 1 row
   e. enter text just below the table
2. Filter with all Data1: the table should increase its size and may overwrite
the text below the table
= LibO ask The destination range is not empty. Overwrite existing contents?
3. Answer No

I agree that it is designed to work that way, but the design is faulty: if the
user specifies a range when setting up the pivot table, then the user wants
THAT range to be used -- he does not want Calc ignoring the user's range
selection and generate one on its own (without even so much as a warning, mind
you) that is hundreds of thousands of cells smaller!

ctrl_plus_move.png

1. Open new document in Writer.
2. Click on Show Draw Functions button from toolbar.
3. At the bottom of screen drawing toolbar is displayed. Click on Rectangle
icon.
4. Draw rectangle on canvas.
5. Press and hold CTRL key, click and hold on rectangle (notice mouse icon is
changed to plus icon (see attachment). Move mouse to some other location on
canvas and release keyboard and mouse left button.
Expected: Rectangle is copied to new location.
What happens: No object is copied.

Compare above steps (except step 2) to Draw:
Expected: Rectangle is copied to new location. After mouse release two
rectangles exists on canvas.
What happens: Exactly what is written above in Expected.

So CTRL+move works fine in Draw, but it does not work in Writer.

It is funny that mouse icon does change in Writer indicating coping is going to
perform after mouse release, but no icon is displayed in Draw despite coping
working fine.

This behaviour is present still in LibreOffice 4.0.5-2.1

Options = LibreOffice = View Icon size and style set to Small and
Oxygen.

Attached image shows Template Manager Icons not following that setting, also
ignores my Global (KDE) setting of Icons Only.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70040] [SVG] Resizing Image does not work properly

Same as I already told on the mailing-list. The yellow one is a filled polygon
and the black ones are thick lines. It is no bug, that they are treated
different.

If I reduce the size of the .svg object, the width of the black lines are
reduced the same as the yellow object. That is correct, because resizing the
whole image adds an additional transformation on the image, as it is done for
all images. The object is treated as image.

If I break the .svg and group the result, and then reduce the size of the
group, the width of the black lines are not changed. That is correct, because
now you have no longer an image, but single, scalable objects. For lines only
length is effected be resizing, not stroke width; try it with a new line. The
yellow object is a filled object with width and height and resizing effects
width and height.

There is no error at all.

I use Version:
4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 32dcd60b47b78c5afa3885bd3a392b511ca713c3
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2013-09-30_01:41:28

Is it really worth it to have a bug open for something that is not an error in
the source code, and not an error in an official build, but just a suboptimal
configuration of a tinderbox? Where do we promise that tinderbox builds would
be usable on XP?

So it is, and that is no error. The equivalent to the sheet in Calc is not the
layer but the slide. Calc has more than one layer for a sheet too, but there
exists no UI to show these layers, same in Writer or Impress. Only Draw has a
UI to let you manipulate the layers directly.

Nevertheless it is a valid request, to change the UI, to show the layers in an
order the user wants. I change the issue type accordingly

need to build with --with-windows-sdk=7.1A flag

Looking at the full build logs suggests that is not yet happening for the TB 39
