https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70024 Priority: medium Bug ID: 70024 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FORMATTING: New autocorrect entries lose formatting [Regression] Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: luke...@btconnect.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.1.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Problem description: New autocorrect entries are forced as text only regardless of the text-only tick box status. All formatting is lost when creating new entries. This used to work in older versions of OpenOffice (circa 2009), but does not work in later versions or LibreOffice Steps to reproduce: 1. Select formatted text on page (Formatted differently so you can tell if it has worked later) 2. Tools - AutoCorrect options, add a new replace entry. (Make sure text only is not ticked) 3. Go back to document and use the autocorrect entry 4. Observe the custom formatting is lost and the new text has same formatting as current document. Current behavior: Formatting is lost even when text only is not ticked. Expected behavior: (From help page) You can use the AutoCorrect feature to apply a specific character format to a word or abbreviation. Select the formatted text in your document, open this dialog, clear the Text only box, and then enter the text that you want to replace in the Replace box. With: Enter the replacement text, graphic, frame, or OLE object that you want to replace the text in the Replace box. If you have selected text, a graphic, a frame, or an OLE object in your document, the relevant information is already entered here. Text only: Saves the entry in the With box without formatting. If anybody runs into a similar problem here are the steps that worked for me: 1) Open a Terminal and navigate to the folder where you keep the corrupted ods. 2) Now create a new folder named 'repair' and cd to it: mkdir repair cd repair/ 3) Now extract the files with the following command: unzip ../corrupted.ods 4) The folder 'repair' now contains several files folders, including 'content.xml' which you should edit (you don't need a special XML editor, you can use every text editor). DON'T touch the other files in that directory! 5) Now we're going to create the repaired file: zip -r ../repaired.ods ./* I had to find replace a ton of entries and make sure to only delete every second entry (which was causing the problem in the first place. That's why i suggest you to use EMACS to mark XML Errors automatically and you may easily delete the error giving lines. The yellow one is a filled polygon and the black ones are thick lines. It is no bug, that they are treated different. If I reduce the size of the .svg object, the width of the black lines are reduced the same as the yellow object. That is correct, because resizing the whole image adds an additional transformation on the image, as it is done for all images. The object is treated as image. If I break the .svg and group the result, and then reduce the size of the group, the width of the black lines are not changed. That is correct, because now you have no longer an image, but single, scalable objects. For lines only length is effected be resizing, not stroke width; try it with a new line. The yellow object is a filled object with width and height and resizing effects width and height. There is no error at all.
