[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70182] New: Other: Exporting Graphs IS TOO DAMN HARD
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70182 Priority: medium Bug ID: 70182 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Other: Exporting Graphs IS TOO DAMN HARD Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: benigr...@gmail.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.6.2.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice This isn't a bug. I wanted to submit feedback. I'm just trying to make a bunch of graphs and export them as jpgs so I can paste them elsewhere. If I wanted to paste it into another Libre Office document that'd be fine and easy. But I don't, and it's been a tremendous pain in the ass. I should be able to just select a graph, right click and tell it to export it. This is a pretty basic and useful function. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70090 --- Comment #4 from Tor Lillqvist t...@iki.fi --- Seems to be a compiler bug. I see the crash if I compile drawing layer and svx with Clang, not if I compile them with gcc. Apparently in drawinglayer/source/processor2d/baseprocessor2d.cxx , line 64, with gcc the call to processBasePrimitive2D() refers to the one twenty lines earlier in the same file, while with Clang it refers to the one in svx/source/sdr/contact/viewobjectcontact.cxx, line 98. Whether this is a bug in Clang or gcc I don't know, or is it perhaps a grey area in the language specification? Click Text Document 3. Click FileSave As. 4. If it does not crash right away, play around with the dialog a bit; the places list on the left seems particularly crash-inducing. As a workaround, go to ToolsOptionsLibreOfficeGeneralOpen/save dialogs and check Use LibreOffice dialogs. I have not experienced any crashes with that setting enabled. Here is my backtrace: #0 0x775973d9 in raise () from /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #1 0x775987d8 in abort () from /usr/lib/libc.so.6 #2 0x7fffe58fb0cf in qt_message_output (msgType=msgType@entry=QtFatalMsg, buf=optimized out) at global/qglobal.cpp:2323 #3 0x7fffe58fb259 in qt_message(QtMsgType, const char *, typedef __va_list_tag __va_list_tag *) (msgType=msgType@entry=QtFatalMsg, msg=msg@entry=0x7fffe5a79f70 ASSERT: \%s\ in file %s, line %d, ap=ap@entry=0x7fff7fb8) at global/qglobal.cpp:2369 #4 0x7fffe58fba64 in qFatal (msg=msg@entry=0x7fffe5a79f70 ASSERT: \%s\ in file %s, line %d) at global/qglobal.cpp:2552 #5 0x7fffe58fbaa6 in qt_assert (assertion=assertion@entry=0x7fffe53d4f98 !\QClipboard: internal error, qt_xclb_wait_for_event recursed\, file=file@entry=0x7fffe53d4f40 kernel/qclipboard_x11.cpp, line=line@entry=527) at global/qglobal.cpp:2018 #6 0x7fffe4d694d8 in QX11Data::clipboardWaitForEvent (this=0x68d800, win=win@entry=58720320, type=type@entry=31, event=event@entry=0x7fff8220, timeout=timeout@entry=5000, checkManager=checkManager@entry=false) at kernel/qclipboard_x11.cpp:527 #7 0x7fffe4d6b1cc in QClipboardWatcher::getDataInFormat (this=this@entry=0x1f423e0, fmtatom=308) at kernel/qclipboard_x11.cpp:1289 #8 0x7fffe4d6b65a in QClipboardWatcher::formats_sys (this=0x1f423e0) at kernel/qclipboard_x11.cpp:1214 #9 0x7fffe4cf64a6 in QInternalMimeData::formats (this=optimized out) at kernel/qdnd.cpp:353 #10 0x7fffe4d6b3d2 in QClipboardWatcher::retrieveData_sys (this=0x1f423e0, fmt=..., requestedType=QVariant::ByteArray) at kernel/qclipboard_x11.cpp:1250 #11 0x7fffe4cf6956 in QInternalMimeData::retrieveData (this=0x1f423e0, mimeType=..., type=QVariant::ByteArray) at kernel/qdnd.cpp:368 #12 0x7fffe5a20e0e in QMimeDataPrivate::retrieveTypedData (this=optimized out, format=..., type=type@entry=QVariant::ByteArray) at kernel/qmimedata.cpp:107 #13 0x7fffe5a21a0d in QMimeData::data (this=this@entry=0x1f423e0, mimeType=...) at kernel/qmimedata.cpp:524 #14 0x7fffe699dae2 in KFilePreviewGenerator::Private::decodeIsCutSelection (this=this@entry=0x1d19e40, mimeData=mimeData@entry=0x1f423e0) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/kdelibs-4.11.2/kfile/kfilepreviewgenerator.cpp:1120 #15 0x7fffe699fb04 in KFilePreviewGenerator::Private::applyCutItemEffect (this=this@entry=0x1d19e40, items=...) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/kdelibs-4.11.2/kfile/kfilepreviewgenerator.cpp:890 #16 0x7fffe699fef4 in KFilePreviewGenerator::Private::updateIcons (this=0x1d19e40, items=...) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/kdelibs-4.11.2/kfile/kfilepreviewgenerator.cpp:534 #17 0x7fffe5a272c8 in QMetaObject::activate (sender=0x1b980f0, m=m@entry=0x7fffe70bfcc0 KDirLister::staticMetaObject, local_signal_index=local_signal_index@entry=9, argv=argv@entry=0x7fff8a30) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3547 #18 0x7fffe6cf9c25 in KDirLister::newItems (this=optimized out, _t1=...) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/build/kio/kdirlister.moc:280 #19 0x7fffe6cfb7fe in KDirLister::Private::emitItems (this=0x1bc5e10) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/kdelibs-4.11.2/kio/kio/kdirlister.cpp:2506 #20 0x7fffe6d031d4 in KDirListerCache::slotEntries (this=0x1b6, job=optimized out, entries=...) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/kdelibs-4.11.2/kio/kio/kdirlister.cpp:1260 #21 0x7fffe5a272c8 in QMetaObject::activate (sender=sender@entry=0x1fa1b40, m=m@entry=0x7fffe70befe0 KIO::ListJob::staticMetaObject, local_signal_index=local_signal_index@entry=0, argv=argv@entry=0x7fff8d00) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3547 #22 0x7fffe6ce2e34 in KIO::ListJob::entries (this=this@entry=0x1fa1b40, _t1=_t1@entry=0x1fa1b40, _t2=...) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/build/kio/jobclasses.moc:967 #23 0x7fffe6ceaad8 in KIO::ListJobPrivate::slotListEntries (this=optimized out, list=...) at /home/catlover2/abs/extra/kdelibs/src/kdelibs-4.11.2/kio/kio/job.cpp:2617 #24 0x7fffe5a272c8 in QMetaObject::activate (sender=0x1cb49c0, m=m@entry=0x7fffe70c34e0 KIO::SlaveInterface::staticMetaObject, local_signal_index=local_signal_index@entry=6, argv=argv@entry=0x7fff8f70) at kernel/qobject.cpp:3547 #25 0x7fffe6d70cb5 in

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70190] New: replace zip format by an archive format with better compression ratio (7z, tar.xz, ...)
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70190 Priority: medium Bug ID: 70190 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: replace zip format by an archive format with better compression ratio (7z, tar.xz, ...) Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: jerome.bo...@wanadoo.fr Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master Component: filters and storage Product: LibreOffice The lzma2 compression method (used by 7z or tar.xz archives formats) provides a better compression ratio than deflate (used by zip). With the right parameter, lzma2 method can use the same memory for decompression than deflate. The drawback is a slow compression. However, this could be avoided with multi core/cpu computers which are used nowadays. With recent computers, 1 process can write the uncompressed stream into a pipe. Then an other process read simultaneously the stream from this pipe and compress it with actual parallelism (1 process per cpu). I think that LibreOffice documents should use 7z format instead of zip. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70144] cannot add row to table in embedded Firebird db
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70144 Andrzej J.R. Hunt andr...@ahunt.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||lio...@mamane.lu --- Comment #2 from Andrzej J.R. Hunt andr...@ahunt.org --- I'd be interested to know what happens with other databases. In the case of HSQLDB all changes are stored directly to file due to the way the HSQLDB/.odb interaction works (and apparently HSQLDB lacks proper transaction support) -- with external databases I suspect nothing should happen until a transaction commited (as is the case with Firebird). I suspect the problem is simply that Save is erronously not enabled when we add a row, i.e. we simply have to set the Modified flag when inserting data too (as happens for most other operations). (This might be a historical artifact of Base having been tested mainly with HSQLDB?) That would however mean that in Firebird data is only ever commited to the .odb file with a Save, whereas HSQLDB always has its data stored immediately, i.e. there'd be a significant difference between the operation of the two dbs in practice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70144] cannot add row to table in embedded Firebird db
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70144 --- Comment #3 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu --- (In reply to comment #2) I suspect the problem is simply that Save is erronously not enabled when we add a row, i.e. we simply have to set the Modified flag when inserting data too (as happens for most other operations). (This might be a historical artifact of Base having been tested mainly with HSQLDB?) Yes, there is that horrendous hack that an embedded HSQLDB does a save data in the ODB on commit, which probably led to disabling the save button. With Firebird, which I understand saves the data on an explicit save the ODB action, the save button should indeed be activated on insert, modify, delete (any data change). That would however mean that in Firebird data is only ever commited to the .odb file with a Save, whereas HSQLDB always has its data stored immediately, i.e. there'd be a significant difference between the operation of the two dbs in practice. I though we already had decided they would have this difference, *but* taking care that autosaves / backup saves have fresh data (not the same data as the last save), so as to have some level of crash tolerance. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70197] [FILEOPEN/FILESAVE] crash loading autosaved presentation
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70197 --- Comment #1 from Paolo Bonzini bonz...@gnu.org --- Better description: the attached reduced testcase, when opened, segfaults libreoffice. The original crashing file was produced after a few hours of editing, and breaks again after a few hours when a good copy is restored from a backup. It also breaks after a few hours if the image tags are stripped, the presentation is opened and the pictures are put back. In case it matters, the first copy of the picture is an .svg I add with Insert/Picture, afterwards I copy-and-paste an already existing copy of the picture (the same picture occurs many times in the full presentation). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69888] Export As dialog changes document dimension when pixels are changed
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69888 --- Comment #5 from Michael Bauer f...@akerbeltz.org --- I'm not a graphics specialist *either* but when you're exporting a text or graphic in a different format, changing the resolution should not automatically change the document size. The *only* guess I can hazard is that LO is trying to maintain the same file size and that, if I increase the resolution, it reduces the document dimensions? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70157] FILEOPEN: abnormal .docx file opening
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70157 tommy27 ba...@quipo.it changed: What|Removed |Added OS|Mac OS X (All) |All Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW CC||mst...@redhat.com Summary|FILEOPEN: Writer Abends |FILEOPEN: abnormal .docx |when opening a docx file|file opening Version|4.1.1.2 release |Inherited From OOo Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #5 from tommy27 ba...@quipo.it --- @Dave retested with 4.2 alpha (Sept.10 build) and with 4.1.2.3 and earlier versions under Win7 64bit. .docx test file still opens as an empty page in 4.2 alpha and 4.1.2 while earlier versions (tried 3.3.3, 3.4.6, 3.5.7 and 4.0.5) open the .docx file but show it with incorrect formatting or with missing parts. even OOo 3.3.0 and AOO 4.0.0 opens .docx file with images but without lines and some missing text the .doc test version opens correctly in LibO/OOo/AOO versions. so there's an inherited issue from OOo opening this .docx file which eventually become worse with subsequent releases of LibO to the point that current release and alpha show it as an empty page. I changed summary notes to generic abnormal .docx file opening since: - it abends Writer on Mac - it loads file incorrectly on Windows -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66419] UI: macro call to close() or dispose() fail to terminate soffice processes
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66419 --- Comment #3 from the_lette...@outlook.com --- This bug might be a (programmatic) cousin of the same (gui) behavior shown in bug#59686 , which was confirmed in LibreOffice 4.0.0.1 rc and also 4.0.5 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59686 @Vieri, did you ever make any progress with closing programmatically? Can you post a concise set of steps to reproduce this problem, like this: 0. disable libreoffice quickstarter (verify no soffice*.* in taskmgr) 1. start scalc 2. tools macros organize macros libreoffice basic 3+. (insert appropriate steps here) N-1. look in taskmgr.exe to verify soffice is still running N. try to open another .odt (how exactly?) and it will never visually appear Methinks your bugreport is still unconfirmed, because there is no easy to confirm whether or not thisComponent.close(true) functions properly until we figure out (and reproduce) what exact steps you are trying to take. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70200] New: EDITING: copy-paste from non-LibO-text-source pastes previous clipboard contents after copy-paste from within LiboO
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70200 Priority: medium Bug ID: 70200 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: EDITING: copy-paste from non-LibO-text-source pastes previous clipboard contents after copy-paste from within LiboO Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: e...@amgeek.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: Inherited From OOo Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. open a LibO (writer) document. Copy and paste from within that LibO (writer) document to within that LibO document. 2. Open a web page or non-LibO document and copy web page text or url 3. Past that text/url into the still open LibO (writer) document Current behavior: The copied text from step 1 is pasted into the document Expected behavior: The copied text from the web page/non-LibO document should be pasted into the document. Current work around is to close all LibO documents, which clears the LibO clipboard. Re-open the LibO document and paste before doing any cut/copy from within LibO Previously reported in Bug 672196 which does not appear in current known bug list.
