not reproducible using LibO 4.1.2.3 under Win7 64bit.
my Notepad version is 6.1 and I can easily Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V anything.

I suggest to upgrade to 4.1.2.3 and then tell us if you still experience this
issue. In the meantime I mark this as NEEDINFO.

Document with tables that, when deleted at once, crashes LO

Hello,

I created a document with many tables that came from an HTML.
When I remove some of them, LO crashes. If I remove line by line, nothing
happens.

I'll attach the document.

How to reproduce:

1) open document
2) select all of it
3) delete

The bug seems to be in JVM. However, when I disable it, LO askes me to enable
it on restart. If I deny, it simply closes.

This is two logs generated from different JVM

Insert -> Link to external data
is not meant to work with CSV files or files of types other than spreadsheet or
HTML files. As also the online-help states the source file needs to have an
identifiable table or cell range that can be addressed, i.e. to update the
data.

Note that an entire CSV file's content can be inserted using Insert -> Sheet
from file, and can be linked (and then updated) as well by checking Link in
that dialog.

I'm closing this as notabug.

Hi Adam, LibreOffice it is not a MSoffice clone.

Seems that MS is not trying to facilitate the use of their files by other
applications, and as I have read even between MSOffice versions not all looks
equal.

I think a lot of things can make this difference, algorithms to generate the
view sure are not equals, (MS it is not open source), when LibreOffice open
docx files the parameters needs to be translated to the LibreOffice parameters
and maybe not all have a direct equivalent.

On other hand, why is right in Word?, maybe is your personal assumption, e.g. I
have not MSOffice. And if you want every one can see exactly the same, I think
better use pdf files to distribute.

Changing the Pair Kerning in Character format to Expanded 0,1 seems fine (or in
defined Paragraph style).

Please, do not set as New your reported bugs, the proper is someone, after
verify the bug, doing it.

In any case, more than a bug it should be a request for enhancement.

Hi Julien

You are right, this bug no longer makes sense. However even if all Wizards were

IIUC, the problem arises in the 32 source commits in the half-open
range 08bb8fc..992da02. Noel, I notice your name appears several
times in that range. Does any of this ring a bell with you? If not,
I apologize for the noise.

HTH,
Terry.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70357] New: Sort and clean Wiki pages!

2013-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70357

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70357
CC: webs...@global.libreoffice.org
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Sort and clean Wiki pages!
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: bjoern.michael...@canonical.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: WWW
   Product: LibreOffice

This Easy Hack is to sort and clean up Wiki pages on
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/

For example for development pages:

to those pages:
- add "[[Category:development]]" if needed
- add the menus from e.g. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development to
the page, if needed
- move pages to a subpage of Development/, if needed
  example:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/index.php?title=Development%2FImpress_Remote_Protocol&diff=76519&oldid=76518
(mediawiki will automatically create a redirect from the old page to the new
page)
- create links between related pages liberally to improve discoverability

The same applies to other categories: Marketing, Design, Website ...

Bug ID: 70355
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: DATALOSS: Graph data tables swapping data in x and y
axis in writer documents resulting in incorrect
graphs.
  Severity: blocker
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: bsm...@largo.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 87413
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=87413&action=edit
Example of bug described.

See attached document.

Open the document in LibreOffice 3.6 to see the graphs as they should be. Open
the document in versions 4.0, 4.1, or 4.2 and the x/y axis of the data tables
will be reversed causing the graphs to show incorrect data.

For example, if you were looking at it as if it were a spreadsheet, everything
from Row 1 is put into Column A, everything from Row 2 is put into Column B,
and so on.

Usually this action does not crash LibreOffice.
(to be sure, I pasted the image in the Writer doc outside the frame first -
same problem).
I guess it's related to the huge history of such a document ??

Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: tmac...@gmail.com

Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 87410
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=87410&action=edit
Screenshot of border thickness affecting presented line styles

Problem:
When applying a border to objects in various components(writer tables/calc
cells/etc...), at the default border thickness of .05px, many of the styles are
not shown as available. Only by first upping the line thickness will these
styles be visible. Many users will simply never know that they exist.

Here's the breakdown of line thickness to how many styles are shown:
less than .50pt shows 8 line styles
.50pt shows 10 line styles
.75pt shows 12 line styles
1.0pt and aboveshows 14 line styles

I could possibly understand why some of the fancier line styles wouldn't be
applicable to very small thicknesses, but the interface should at least give
some indication that they are available. I might also be reading too much into
this behavior and the real bug is that all styles really should be
presented/applied at every thickness. I could see it going either way, but
I'll write the rest of this under the assumption that it is behaving based on
intended behavior.

Suggestions:

The most reasonable solution I can think of in terms of ease of
implementation/efficacy is to simply add a text field or tool-tip simply
stating, "Increase line thickness for more line styles."

Also, the interface is set up with line style chosen first and thickness
second. If these were reversed, users would at least potentially set their
thickness first and then be presented with all of the options for the chosen
thickness. Of course, this still isn't horribly intuitive, looks funny, and
users will still probably select style first. It'd be easy to implement, but I
don't like this option.

It would be more costly to implement, but the drop down line style list could
even be enhanced to show all line styles, but with the ones that aren't
available at the current thickness greyed out. I can't think of an elegant way
to also notify users that the styles are greyed out because the thickness is
too small.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70351] New: EDITING Writer crashes when pasting images from Draw

2013-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70351

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70351
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING Writer crashes when pasting images from Draw
  Severity: critical
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: msrame...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: Inherited From OOo
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 87406
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=87406&action=edit
Files demonstrating the bug

Writer crashes if pasting images copied from Draw.

The aim is to rewrite an original image in writer. Therefore, it is selected.
The expected result is that the original image is replaced by the new one.
Pasting without having selected the image works with no problem - however, I
want the described functionality since its preserves structure of the document.

Verified in ApacheOO 3.4, ApacheOO 4.0, LibreOffice 4.0 and 4.1

To reproduce:

1. Open the attached GS4001.odg and GS4001-IntroducingLibreOffice.odt files.
2. In Writer find Figure 1 (the LO splash screen image)
3. In Draw copy one of the files on the first page, select the image in Figure
1 in Writer and hit CTRL-V. LO crashes.

The same also with other images in the files

The bug is 100% reproducible on all listed systems (64 bit ubuntu Linus)
Further observations:
The program crashes if using CRTL-V and Paste Special - Draw Format (which are
probably the same). It is OK if I select GDI Metafile or Bitmap.

Yes. If you look at the attachment I added to comment 7, you can see where the
top of the window tucks itself under the task bar (panel one in Xfce jargon).
As it doesn't happen all the time, I think it depends on else I have open.

The HTML importer is only confused by this unclosed anchor tag. I've tried
other tags like , or , but the import works fine. Also works. The only problem exists with .

A solution would be to manually end the started anchor if the next is
found, but that's some kind of spaghetti:

+++ b/editeng/source/editeng/eehtml.cxx

A far better solution for all non-well-formatted HTML documents would be to
clean them up in a first step. This could be done like

Do we want to include tidy in our project? In my opinion this could be a huge
benefit.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69030] Multiple instances of the Unity launcher icon for the same LO-App (e.g. writer) instead of grouping

2013-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69030

--- Comment #3 from Marco Trevisan (Treviño) ---
The bug itself is only partially in LO... The new version includes the
StartupWMClass strings to the .desktop file, and that's fine to improve
matching but this leads to problems in unity since LO updates the window class
values very slowly (after that it sets the new window title) and this confuses
old BAMF versions.

A workaround for precise users using LO 4.1 is just removing this key from the
.desktop files by using:

  sudo sed '/StartupWMClass=.*/d' -i
/usr/share/applications/libreoffice-*.desktop

Reproduced with 4.1.2.3 und Win7 32bit.

I think this is not a duplicate of bug 52525, hence there are several
differences:
(1) in 52525 the background colour for fields is used and not the general
background colour,
(2) in 52525 the colour is changes unintendedly.
(3) in 52525 only the numbers theirselves got background colours and not the
whole line.
(4) in 52525 the background colour toggles, if you move the cursor.

Hi dan,

thanks for the issue.
I confirm the behaviour.

However I'm not sure if it is a bug, or a not implemented feature (the Help is
not clear about it.) I set to Enhancement now. OK?

I set the version to Inherited from OOo: it has been like this since at least
3.3.0.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70347] New: Thumbnails in Cells are not visible by LibreOffice

2013-10-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70347

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70347
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Thumbnails in Cells are not visible by LibreOffice
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: kobz...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.1.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 87400
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=87400&action=edit
Sample file has mouseover-thumbnails in cells

Hi,

One of my friends shared a Stock Book spreadsheet created in Microsoft Excel.
The interesting thing, they have applied a thumbnail function to relevant
cells, which show the product's thumbnail photo on mouse over like a comment
shown.

In LibreOffice this function does not works. All cells have the comment boxes
open and empty. I don't know ods supports this feature, i have saved the file
top Ods via Microsoft Office and opened it in MS Office, it was working but
only in locale computer -i think it only saves the links to original xlsx
file-.

I don't know it is a compalitability issue/a bug or enchancement.

But having this thumbnail function seems a very useful method while working on
stuff like stock books or other inventory sheets which helps in visual
interaction.

Best Regards,
Zeki

I don't know Sean.. But I think because Sasha & OP ran old version of 3.x, but
I have newest 3.x (3.6.7) :-)

Perhaps you could also test with 3.6.7 to see whether your problem solved (not
OP's).

Done.

My understanding is that it becomes a Easyhack, as opposed to a
ProposedEasyHack when someone has checked there is no hidden bad surprise. This
has not happened. This needs someone with a clue with Microsoft Windows.

> (Side Note: What's the license on the driver?)

Need to check in the download. Probably something similar to the msvc
redistributables we already bundle?
