Hi João

The site will be updated soon, AFAIK, it's just the next step in the process,
where it is available for testing in small circle first, before announcing and
mentioning on the pre-releases page.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59288] FORMATTING: Copying conditional formatting

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59288

I also noticed that copying conditional formatting between different tables of
the same document, or between different documents, may cause all sorts of
problems with the formatting of the copied cells (also in the current LO 4.1.2
release).

As with the other observations, the problems sometimes don't show up
immediately after copying, but only after saving and re-opening the document.
It seems that checking the list entries under "Format/Conditional
Formatting/Manage..." is a good indicator of whether something went wrong with
the conditional formatting.

(In general, I start to wonder if it was a good design decision to store
conditional cell formatting separate from the "normal" (static) format. If all
format settings of a certain cell were stored together in one place, it would
probably be much more robust and consistent when being copied.)

I confirm that the field definition dialog "Champ de saisie" doesn't allow to
edit the value. Effectively questionnable, just compare to "Liste de saisie"
which manage to do that.

A unavoidable level of heterogeneity remains, due to the large scope of this
usage of "fields".

To be categorized in "enhancements" ?

this feature is very useful and currently present only in Microsoft Publisher.

the feature is activated by clicking on the image then on the crop icon inside
the image toolbar.
the borders can then be dragged to crop image (not resize but crop).
the program still holds the original image in memory so it's always possibile
to adjust the cropping by revealing previously cropped section by moving the
borders again.

very handy and valuable improvement.

LibreOffice Version: 4.1.0.4 (download from LO website)

There seem to be difference between document (DOCX) generated using
command-line (--convert-to docx:"MS Word 2007 XML") and through GUI (actually
opening the document in LibreOffice and doing a "Save As" => Microsoft Word
2007/2010 XML(.docx) ) if the input document is DOCX format created using
Microsoft Office.

The Table of Contents (TOC) is getting lost if the conversion is using
command-line whereas it is preserved if done through GUI. If we compare
document.xml after extracting the documents converted through these two
formats, a large portion corresponding to Table of Contents is missing.

Expectation is that same ooxml import/export filter code path should be
executed resulting in identical files.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69900] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saved when using "between" with alphabetic strings

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69900

HI Stephano. I'm new in LibO support/QA, too. A "bug" is characterized by :
- a crash/corruption,
- a behavior contrary to the specification,
- a behavior contrary to the common sense.

The present case is none of the above three, it deserve additional analysis, in
my sense.

I would point out that a bug may sometimes be corrected by a clarification in
documentation, not in the software itself. Should I tell you to switch the
present bug to "New", what specification would you implement ?

Current behavior: the nightly builds have proven to be extremely helpful when
triaging and testing latest changes.

Expected behavior: I know builds can be created locally. But in times where
everybody is sooo busy a central solution to offer nightly builds is much more
effective. Not everybod has the disk space, time and skill required to do a
local build. If we want to improve QA we need nightly builds available for all
platforms. I'm sure this could be solved via virtual machines? If machines are
missing those should be bought by TDF. I'm sure this will be an investment that
will pay off easily.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46798] FORMATTING: Hard coded "Text Centered" in new Shapes, Text boxes and Drawing objects

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46798

I am providing an update for this bug as it has not had one for some time. The
problem as described still exists but it appears to be more complicated than
indicated, with behaviour differing according to LO Draw version, object type,
and associated style. I have tested this with these LO Draw / OS combinations:

- v3.5.7.2 Build: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b / Crunchbang v11
x86_64.
- v3.6.7.2 Build: e183d5b / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64.
- v4.0.5.2 Build: 5464147a081647a250913f19c0715bca595af2f / Ubuntu v10.04
x86_64.
- v4.1.2.2 Build: 281b75f427729060b6446ddb3777b32f957a8fb / Ubuntu v10.04
x86_64.
- v4.1.2.2 Build: 281b75f427729060b6446ddb3777b32f957a8fb / Crunchbang v11
x86_64.

For text in different objects (associated style indicated in brackets) the
default alignment [Vertical|Horizontal] across all versions appears to be:

- Line (Object without fill) = [Centred|Centred].
- Rectangle (Default) = [Centred|Centred].
- Text box (Default) = [Top|Left].
- Connector (Default) = [Centred|Centred].

I tested changing the alignment (toolbar button) and text anchor position
(right-click > Text...) and then clicking the Update Style button in the
Formatting & Styles panel to observe any effect. This required a fair amount of
re-testing b/c of the Default style being shared between shapes[1], Connector,
and Text box:

Object without fill:
- v3.5.7.2 / Crunchbang v11 x86_64 = OK
- v3.6.7.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = OK
- v4.0.5.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = OK
- v4.1.2.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = OK
- v4.1.2.2 / Crunchbang v11 x86_64 = OK

Default (shape):
- v3.5.7.2 / Crunchbang v11 x86_64 = Not OK
- v3.6.7.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = Not OK
- v4.0.5.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = Not OK
- v4.1.2.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = Not OK
- v4.1.2.2 / Crunchbang v11 x86_64 = Not OK

Default (Text box / Connector):
- v3.5.7.2 / Crunchbang v11 x86_64 = OK
- v3.6.7.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = OK
- v4.0.5.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = OK
- v4.1.2.2 / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64 = OK
- v4.1.2.2 / Crunchbang v11 x86_64 = OK

The Text box and Connector object is affected as expected when the alignment of
the text is changed and then the Default style updated i.e., any new Text box
or Connector (and vice versa) assumes the setting. Somewhat similarly, when
updating the Default style via a shape each subsequently drawn Text box or
Connector assumes the new alignment. Only shapes appear unaffected.

It is also worth noting that changes to horizontal alignment (for example, via
toolbar button) with a corresponding update to the Default style (for either
shapes or a Connector) affects the vertical alignment of a Text box (set to
Centred). This can then only be set to Top/Bottom by changing the Text anchor
settings. It is all a bit confusing to be honest, but hopefully this
information is useful to the developers.

Bug #58492 which deals with alignment in a text box (for two different methods
of drawing a text box) would appear to be related, although not necessarily a
duplicate.

[1] Rectangle, Ellipse, Basic, Symbol, Block Arrow, etc.

While the above the line details for this bug indicate All platforms, the
comments only mention Windows. I am merely providing confirmation for Linux
having tested these versions:

- v3.5.7.2 Build: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b / Crunchbang v11

x86_64.
- v4.1.2.2 Build: 281b75f427729060b6446ddb3777b32f957a8fb / Ubuntu v10.04
x86_64.
- v4.1.2.2 Build: 281b75f427729060b6446ddb3777b32f957a8fb / Crunchbang v11

The description also indicates v3.3.4 so I have set the Version accordingly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70400] Can't print with Lexmark printer

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70400

OK I jsut did some testing.
First I selected another driver.
Printing an empty page out of LO: working
Printing a page with just "test" out of LO: working
Printing the document, I first encountered the Problem: 900.43 Firmware Error
at the display of the printer (E360dn).

So what is special about the document:
It was a DOC-File altered and saved as ODT.

So I opened the file again as DOC-File and tried printing: working.
Did a smaller alteration than before and tried printing: working.

So I think it has something to do with the alterations I did to the document.
There are some forumulas in the document I edited with the formula-editor.

I can attache the documents at the end of the week but not now.

(I forgot to reference the bug id in the commit message, sorry).

With these patches, vlookup is working better - but note that different usage
will exercise different code path:
  1) if only the file containing the vlookup (afnamebestand.ods) is open:
vlookup operations are fast
  2) if the file containing the datas (matchbestand-menno.ods) is open at the
same time: vlookup are slow (but 4x faster than before the patches)

(the main culprit I believe is the caching logic used in externalrefmgr.cxx).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70491] New: FILESAVE: Cell-anchored drawing objects do not stay put after save, close, open

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70491

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 70491
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Cell-anchored drawing objects do not stay
put after save, close, open
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: e...@plicht.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.2.3 rc
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
When drawing a line into a spreadsheet _and_ anchoring this line to the cell
(not the page as is default), this line does not stay at this place when
saving, closing and reopening the document.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start a new spreadsheet
2. draw a line from one cell to another
3. change anchoring of this line to "Cell" (instead of "page")
4. Save
5. Close
6. Reopen
7. Try finding your line. If your lucky it's still on the page, up in the left
upper corner. But sometimes they are even entirely gone.

Current behavior:
Line does not stay anchored to cell after save/close.

Expected behavior:
Line or any drawing object marked as "anchored to cell" should stay where it is
after saving,closing.

Operating System: Linux (Other)
Version: 4.1.2.3 rc

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54513] Label Horizontal Pitch Not to specific Label dimensions

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54513

Winfried Donkers changed:

I just received the label dimensions from Avery Software support:

"Here are the dimensions for Avery product number 5160 or 8160:
TOP MARGIN: 0.5
SIDE MARGIN: 0.19
VERTICAL PITCH: 1.
HORIZONTAL PITCH: 2.75
LABEL HEIGHT: 1.
LABEL WIDTH: 2.63
NUMBER ACROSS: 3
NUMBER DOWN: 10
PAGE SIZE: 8.5 x 11. "

These dimensions are within 0.1mm (0.004in) of the dimensions as used in
LibreOffice. Differences are caused by rounding because the dimensions are
stored in metric units. These differences are not noticeable to users, they're
too small.

My conclusion is that there is nothing wrong with LibreOffice.

@Saltcher13:
I can only recommend that you get in touch with Avery support and tell them
that you have label sheets that differ in dimension from what they ought to be.

Marking this bug as resolved now.

(I'm curious what Avery says abou this 2.75 / 2.80in pitch matter, though.)

LibreOffice sends these mails via python see mailmerge.py for details. Its not
a difficult script to understand. Someone who has the problem should have a
look through that and debug what's going wrong. Perhaps a misuse of python,
perhaps a bug in the shipped version of python, or perhaps a buggy workaround
for an older version of python which causes trouble now.

so it seems it's not a "printer side" issue but a "document side issue".

do you encounter printing issues with other documents?

if not I think this report has to be closed and a new clean one regarding that

I like to print multiple pages on A4. The menu box tells me that it will print
two pages per sheet side by side, but the program does not do this. Instead it
prints them vertically above each other and ignores its own instruction to
print "right to left then down". I had no trouble with Libre Office 3 in this

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70481] Difference between DOCX document converted using CLI (--convert-to) and GUI (Save As)

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70481

Created attachment 87666
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=87666&action=edit
DOCX versions saved via CLI/GUI under v3572, v3672, v4052, and v4122.

There is something strange going on here. Let's ignore for a moment the fact
that the original document is a DOCX and is being converted to DOCX. I used
this command to do the CLI conversions:

$ soffice --headless --convert-to docx:"MS Word 2007 XML" orig.docx --outdir ..

Attached are examples of conversion of the original DOCX via both CLI and GUI
using these version of LO:

- v3.5.7.2 Build: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b / Crunchbang v11
x86_64.
- v3.6.7.2 Build: e183d5b / Ubuntu v10.04 x86_64.
- v4.0.5.2 Build: 5464147a081647a250913f19c0715bca595af2f / Ubuntu v10.04
x86_64.
- v4.1.2.2 Build: 281b75f427729060b6446ddb3777b32f957a8fb / Ubuntu v10.04
x86_64.

While the file size variance does tend to indicate differences between the
CLI/GUI versions, I have not examined the XML in detail to determine these
differences. I have however opened all the resulting files with each of the
above versions of LO and viewed the table of contents (ToC). Here are the
results:

- v3.5.7.2 opens all the files and displays a two-level ToC (blue level 1
headings and black level 2 headings).
- v3.6.7.2 opens the v3572, v3672, and v4052 files and displays a two-level ToC
(blue level 1 headings and black level 2 headings). Attempts to open either of
the v4122 files results in an immediate crash.
- v4.0.5.2 opens the v3572 and v3672 files and displays a single-level ToC
(blue level 1 headings are missing; black level 2 headings are visible). It
also opens the v4052 files but displays no ToC (a single line placeholder field
is visible). Attempts to open either of the v4122 files results in an immediate
crash ("soffice.bin: double free or corruption" error).
- v4.1.2.2 opens the v3572 and v3672 files and displays a single-level ToC
(blue level 1 headings are missing; black level 2 headings are visible). It
also opens the v4052 and v4122 files but displays no ToC (a single line
placeholder field is visible).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 40788] FORMATTING - Calc ignores manual breaks when "fit to number of pages" is chosen

So, I'm currently working on this problem - working on 3.6 branch but
upstreaming later this week. So far, I've added a checkbox option under Tools -
Options - Calc - Print to force manual breaks.

However, this bug: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=54993 (which
the current behaviour LO was introduced to fix, as well as for MSO interop)
rears its head when the number of pages or height/width specified in the
scaling settings conflicts with the manual breaks in the document - i.e. what
if 1 row break is specified (so the document will be 2 pages at least) and
scaling setting is to fit to 1 page? The scaling function can't converge due to
the conflict, so it bottoms out at the minimum zoom size.

What I really need now is feedback on what the most sensible way of handling
this situation would be.
- Breaks can be forced anyway, ignoring the scale settings - assuming 100%
scale, perhaps? Or scale so the number of pages == the number of breaks + 1.
- We could revert to the current behaviour and ignore breaks.
- The UI could be adapted to handle this more gracefully, e.g. putting minimum
bounds on # of pages when the force breaks option is selected, or disabling the
force breaks option if it'll cause a conflict. Doesn't account for import of
malformed documents though.

Or maybe something else. Any ideas from anyone who uses the functionality
affected by this bug?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70247] LibreOffice will not install

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70247

In response to comment #3, it sounds like the reporter is doing it right. The
"LibreOffice.app" object in the DMG (download file) is simply dragged to the
Application folder.

>download window indicated 500 + MB download was in progress

The install for MacOS is ~175 MB so that figure is not right and I am not sure
why the download would be so large. The problem may be related to the indicated
version of MacOS. Currently the system requirements page:

https://www.libreoffice.org/download/system-requirements/

... states "MacOSX 10.4 (Tiger) or higher". But I am suspicious of this because
the Feature removal / deprecation section of the v4.0 release notes:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.0#Feature_removal_.2F_deprecation

... indicated "Deprecated Mac / PPC as a platform, raising our base-line to
10.6."

I have commented about this here:

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/20666/is-there-going-to-be-a-mac-ppc-version-of-410/

I think I even sent an email to Andras Timar about it at the time, but have not
heard anything. One of those figures is wrong. For the sake of this bug
reporter, I hope it is the v4.0 release notes. Can someone from the web team be
added to this bug and clarify this aspect?

No, that does not work.

The tinderbox script save the sha of the tips and the timestamp of when they
_fetched_
but you cannot rely on the timestamp of the commits themselves as they are
routinely not in chronological order.

the commit timestamp is dated from when you created the commit... commit
appears on HEAD when they are pushed... there can be a significant amount of
time between the two event... drastic differences for feature branch that get

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65412] FORMATTING: Frame mirroring not save if horizontal position is "center"

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65412

The option "mirror on even pages" automatically changes the horizontal position
depending of the parity of page number ; if it is "centered", no effect; on
even page, an "inside" is drawn outside ans and "outside" is drawn inside.

This doesn't allow LibO to uncheck the option by itself when the position is
"centered". For instance, if you write some text with blank color on blank
background, does that allow LibO to scratch yout text characteristics (size,
bold, etc) ? Of course not : it is the same here. At best LibO can grey the
checkbox with its current content, when the horizontal position is set at
"center".

Reproduced on LibO 4.0.5.2. Simplified steps :
1. in a New empty .odt document, Insert > Frame
2. change "Anchor" to "to page" ; check the box "Mirror on even pages"
3. verify that "Position" "Horizontal" is "Center" ; Press OK
4. Save the document, close it (important) and reopen it
5. double clic on the frame border : in the dialog box, you see that the box
"Mirror on even pages" is now unchecked.

So BUG. Reproduced on LibO 4.0.5.2 Win7.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65436] FORMATTING: Hyperlink dialog 'open url' button always cuases "File Not Found" error

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65436

Typical documentation issue...

What for is The "square icon immediately to the right of the Target field" ?
- intuitivly, to open the target URL (may be to check its value)
- missed ! the Online Help says : to "Open a Web browser in which you can load
the desired URL. You can then copy and paste the URL in the Target field.".

So you are supposed to use firstly the button, secondly the target field, and
not the opposite. It works on my system...
However, I agree that getting a error message when "opening a (empty) web
browser" is not fair.

LibO 4.0.5.2 on Win7.

Spreadsheet showing problem

When a protected [No Password]excel (2007) worksheet having unprotected cells
is saved as xslx and opened in LibreOffice 4.1.2.3 it is not possible to select
the unprotected cells or to make any changes to protected cells.

The problem does not arise in 4.0.3 or if the worksheet is saved as xls.

How to recreate problem

Create sheet in excel 2007 range d4:g9 formatted as unprotected and rest of
cells protected. Fill with yellow to make it clear which cells are unprotected.
Save sheet as xslx.
Open sheet in LibreOffice 4.1.2 as released.
try and select yellow (unprotected) cell - not possible.
Select protected cell - it is possible, though it should not be since
protection set to allow selection of unprotected cells and not of protected
cells.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69900] FORMATTING: Conditional formatting not saved when using "between" with alphabetic strings

2013-10-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69900

Hi Dominique, I feel this bug falls in third category that you listed. If I set
a property (in this case the end clause of the between) I wiuld expect, it is
preserved. What puzzles me us that the "begin" clause is correctly preserved:
it looks like that a different routine is invoked in the translation between
the field appareance and the "internal" way to register the info. Possibly the
issue is that the begin clause is declared as text not yo be parsed, the end
clause to be parsed.
Therefore changing either the field declaration or the routine of the end
clause to make it/them equal to the way the begin is managed, would fix the
bug.
Last but least, I was using this conditional formatting since a couple ofyears
and only with the recent release it is no longer working.
