In example I sent, update charts shoud change charts in I page. But they only

As far as I correctly understand the online help, the Concordance File is
*read* during the process, not *written*...

Thank you for looking into this.

I just installed the latest LO release 4.1.3.2, the behaviour is better now.
I attached a screenshot of a spreadsheet in LO (right) and Excel (left).

Do you need the otf files for testing? On request I will send them in a private

Thank you very much

   What|Removed |Added

   Hardware|x86 (IA32) |All
 OS|Linux (All) |Windows (All)
Version|3.5.4 release |3.5.5.3 release

--- Comment #10 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
I cannot confirm this bug for GNU/Linux so it may be an old Windows-only issue.
I have tested the attachments under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 running:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

In each case I opened the XLS from comment #2 in Calc and pasted it into Draw
from the same version. The chart is pasted as expected (without a sub-title)
under each of the listed versions.

In comment #9 several above the lines fields appear to have been erroneously
changed:

- Architecture from All to x86 (IA32)
- Platform from Windows (All) to Linux (All)[1]
- Version from 3.5.5.3 to 3.5.4

Given the erroneous nature of comment #9 (it was indicated in comment #8 that
the issue of the sub-title returning as described in comment #5 is a SEPARATE
issue) I am changing all these fields back to their original values.

[1] This in particular would seem spurious as the ODG attachment was indeed
created under LO v3.5 for Windows.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68948] Other: Problem with graphs in Writer when data series in rows

2013-11-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68948

--- Comment #11 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
This would seem a clear regression. Under Ubuntu 10.04 running these versions:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

... opening the attachment to comment #2 in Calc and pasting into the
corresponding version of Writer, only v4.1.3.2 copies the chart incorrectly. I
will leave it for QA to set the Whiteboard and Keywords accordingly.

 Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW

 Ever confirmed|0 |1

--- Comment #1 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Confirmed. Status set to NEW. Platform to All/All. The version could possibly
be set back to v4.0.6.2, although the problem may stem from earlier in the
v4.0.x series as this appears to be a regression in the v4.x series. Added
Keyword regression.

I have loaded the provided attachment under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 in these
versions:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

Only v4.0.6.2 and v4.1.3.2 display the text t [°C] at top right of the chart
rotated at 90deg (it should be 0deg). Under both v4.0.6.2 and v4.1.3.2 setting
it to 0deg, saving, exiting, and reloading shows it once again displayed with
90deg rotation. Object 1/content.xml shows:

style:style style:name=ch11 style:family=chart
   style:text-properties fo:font-size=11pt fo:font-weight=bold
style:font-size-asian=9pt style:font-size-complex=9pt/
/style:style
...
chart:title svg:x=22.207cm svg:y=0.831cm chart:style-name=ch11
   text:pt [°C]/text:p
/chart:title

By comparison the [E Wh] legend at bottom right of the graph has this XML:

style:style style:name=ch6 style:family=chart
   style:chart-properties style:rotation-angle=0/
   style:text-properties fo:font-size=10.5pt fo:font-weight=bold
style:font-size-asian=9pt style:font-size-complex=9pt/
/style:style
...
chart:title svg:x=21.539cm svg:y=13.193cm chart:style-name=ch6
   text:pE [Wh]/text:p
/chart:title

I thought the style:chart-properties element with style:rotation-angle
attribute might be missing from the first title, but opening the attachment
under v3.6.7.2 and saving it under this version does not change the listed XML
at all. The older versions simply seem to render the title in correct
orientation.

This is an enhancement request. Severity set to enhancement. Platform set to
All/All. Further details in relation to comment #1 include
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.2#Chart which indicates that
bug 35712 is implementing polynomial regression.

In order for this enhancement request to be confirmed, please edit the summary
to be clear about the specific regression model required (preferably one per
bug) and provide links in a comment indicating the model. It is not clear from
the description what a rising power function is i.e., is a specific function
indicated here, or a family of functions? Do any of the links in the right-hand
sidebar of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regression_analysis list the required
function / model?

Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 59288] FORMATTING: Copying conditional formatting

2013-11-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59288

--- Comment #8 from Eike Rathke er...@redhat.com ---
(In reply to comment #7)
I also noticed that copying conditional formatting between different tables
of the same document, or between different documents, may cause all sorts of
problems with the formatting of the copied cells (also in the current LO
 4.1.2 release).

Unrelated to whatever original problems were reported in this bug, the copying
between sheets problem is fixed with bug 61946.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58920] VIEWING: Error: Reference not found should be replaced with reference-name

2013-11-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58920

--- Comment #3 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Created attachment 89678
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=89678action=edit
Screenshots taken under different LO versions of master and sub-doc 2.

Thanks for providing the example file Robert. The cross-references do indeed
appear to display an error, although to what degree this is a valid enhancement
will need a developer / expert to look into.[1] I can understand how this
particular use case might be seen as inappropriate for a cross-reference.[2] I
am attaching screenshots taken under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 running these LO
versions:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

In each case I have opened the master document (File Open GlobalDoc.odm)
and then opened the sub-document (Doc2.odt) via Navigator. In all cases the
screenshots show the Fehler: Referenz nicht gefunden (English: Error:
Reference not found) message when the sub-document is opened, as you
originally reported.

[1] Doc1.odt uses a ranged reference mark i.e., Insert Cross-reference...
Cross-references tab Set reference Name of One. XML for the anchor:

text:p text:style-name=P1
   Header
   text:reference-mark-start text:name=One/
  One
   text:reference-mark-end text:name=One/
/text:p

Doc2.odt uses a cross-reference to a known reference mark (manually entered,
rather than selected as the link is between two separate documents) i.e.,
Insert Cross-reference... Cross-references tab Insert reference Insert
reference to Reference Name of One. XML for the source:

text:p text:style-name=P1
   Here is the reference:
   text:reference-ref text:reference-format=text text:ref-name=OneFehler:
Referenz nicht gefunden/text:reference-ref
/text:p

[2] Usually a cross-reference is made within a single document. Master +
sub-documents complicate this of course, with separate documents effectively
merging to form a single document (which is why the link works fine in the
master view). I am unclear to what degree a cross-reference rather than
hyperlink (which is a more global link that also can use bookmark and reference
mark anchors) is expected to be used in this type of situation.

Bug ID: 71938
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: non printer characters grey out
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: cczelle...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Hi there

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but I could not find where else to post this.
My apologies in advance if this is wrong place to post this. I did search the
database and could find no reference for my comment.

When I activate the non-printer characters (to view), the paragraph return in
very black and bold and it interferes with text. Is there any way to grey this
out so it is visible but not intrusive?

Thanks kindly
CZ

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64886] The default chart type of a newly created chart should be elegible

2013-11-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64886

--- Comment #6 from Francisco franciscoadriansanc...@gmail.com ---
I agree that styles for charts are a better option in the long therm (I had
already filled the bug 62540 also, then it was marked as dup of 62925).
Nevertheless I also think it will take much more effort to implement, than
being able to select the default chart type.

I understand also that LibO has already many options, but that's because it can
behave as 5(+2) applications at the same time: word processor, spreadsheet,
presentation software, vector graphic app, database, +math equation editor and
charts. How many software has the LibO capabilities? With such a wide range of
fields, I think its natural that you will end with a lot of options.
I don't know really how many options are too many for an app like LibO, though
if that's the case *maybe* the problem is that's not balanced.

 (In reply to comment #0)
When a new chart needs to be created it always starts up with the default
and hast to tune to the personal or company format needs.

You can copykpaste an existing one often and then drag a new data-range to
 it.

Nevertheless: a very useful enhancement request!

 Cheers,
 Cor

That's not so easy: you must have already in the same spreadsheet a chart
formatted in the way you want. You cannot copy a formatted chart from another
file (though maybe you can insert that one sheet).

But yes, that's is what we do now ;-)

When I copy/paste values from a different spreadsheet (not a sheet within the

I'd prefer that when Conditional Formatting Rules exist that they be left as
is until I manually change them. LibreOffice doesn't really know 'what's good
for me', but I do.
The spreadsheet in the screenshots is relatively simple, a heading row followed
by many 'item' rows. There aren't any totals. Nothing special.
This is not the only sheet with this problem, I have 'many' others. I finally
got fed up waiting for somebody else to get this fixed.

Can't provide a screenshot, this happens haphazardly.

If the cell to the left has a 'not white' background and a value is entered
into the current cell which has a white background, upon pressing enter, the
current cell's background colour now matches the cell to the left.

It's also happened that the type is copied, i.e. if entering a time into a
column formatted as Time = hh:mm and the column to the left is formatted as
Date = -mm-dd nn then the entered value of 13:22 is formatted as a Date
which is really wrong since no one uses 13:32 as a Date, and the system date
format is h:m:s.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71943] New: Crashes intermittently when adding a formula to a cell

Summary: Crashes intermittently when adding a formula to a cell
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: david_ly...@blueyonder.co.uk
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.5.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 89687
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=89687action=edit
Spreadsheet that exhibits this bug

I have a fairly large and very complex spreadsheet (attached):

Number of sheets 12
Number of cells 123562
Number of pages 55

size 1.23 Mb

much calculation (typically about 200 cells aren't formulas) and many array
formulas.

Often, but not always, when I add a formula to this spreadsheet, CALC crashes
saying Calc has an unexpected error and is saving. I can then recover the
spreadsheet and adding the new formula now works. There appears to be no dump
or other information to aid diagnosis.

LibreOffice crashed with the attached spreadsheet and message.
Due to an unexpected error, LibreOffice crashed. All the files you are working
on will be saved now. The next time LibreOffice is launched, your files will be
recovered automatically.
This was run from a command prompt: there were no messages in the command
prompt.

Before the crash, I entered the formula:
=OFFSET($AG$36,ROW()-36,ROW()-36)
into cell W.J36.

It crashes only when I add a formula and enter it (and not always then).

I recovered the spreadsheet and re-entered the formula: this time it worked.
I am running 4.0.5.2 on Windows.
These are my memory options:
Undo Number of steps 20
Graphics cache
Use for LibreOffice 256MB
Memory per object 5.0 MB
Remove from memory after 00:10 hh:mm
Cache for inserted objects
Number of objects 50

So I think what he means for step #3 is the following:

1. View -- Toolbars -- Customize -- New

2. Give it a name such as macros

3. Click ok

4. Click Add and select 6 items (click add for 6 different ones)

5. Then close

6. Go through the list of 6 items and select Modify -- Change Icon

7. Try to find the icons that he used (no clue if that's important).

I think that is step 3 (usually Rainer was a lot better about this stuff, I
agree step 3 is a bit cryptic)

Thanks Florian!

Emir, would a test odt be useful in this case? Can you point out clearly what
is not displayed correctly? For people unfamiliar with arabic or hebrew text it
might not be obvious.

I think there is some misunderstanding because the procedure is very simple.
Can you please explain step by step how you proceed to protect:
- just one cell (eg cell B2)
- a column (eg C)
Waiting this information, I set the status to NEEDINFO
Best regards

Unsure what to make of this. When opening the test document with LO 4.3 latest
nightly or MS Word all I see is the word test. I'm unable to spot any
differences in the way this is displayed.

Is this bug still valid / reproducible with the latest LO release? Currently
4.1.3.2: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/

Could you please attach the document in question? That would help speed up the
process of confirming and successively fixing this bug a lot. Thanks :)

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED.
Thanks :)

I do not reproduce with version 4.1.4.0.0+ under Ubuntu 13.10 x86-64.

Please, could you describe more precisely how you increase the indent? Do you
use the tab key or the button in the Bullets and Numbering toolbar ? In both
case it works for me. What the status bar says about the numbering level after
you had increased the indent?

please, don't forget to upgrade your LibreOffice installation to the current
stable version.

Best regards. JBF
