[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72143] New: PDF Old-style numerals in outline paragraphs get mangled in exported PDF's Outline
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72143 Priority: medium Bug ID: 72143 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: PDF Old-style numerals in outline paragraphs get mangled in exported PDF's Outline Severity: minor Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: jos...@hotmail.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.2.3 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 89981 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=89981action=edit Example Old-style numerals ODT, exported PDF, and screenshot of the latter When using old-style numerals in paragraphs that are assigned an outline-level in lowriter, these numerals are displayed correctly in the resulting PDF's text-body but become mangled in the PDF's outline. There, they are represented as instead of old-style 1, instead of old-style 2, for 3, for 4, for 5, for 6, for 7, for 8, for 9, and for 0. Given that the same glyphs are handled correctly in the text of the PDF, it might be that the text for the PDF's outline skips a characterset conversion step during the export? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Example: when I use CMYK 100-0-100-0 (percent values) I do expect a dark green. Instead this becomes a very bright green with RGB 0-255-0. When I do the same in other programs the color is more what I do expect. Gimp would convert CMYK 100-0-100-0 to RGB 0-153-74, Apple ColorSync Utility converted to RGB 0-166-108. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72035 --- Comment #2 from skopid...@gmail.com --- Dear Tim, The attached files were made running LinuxMint 13, 64 bit, or 32 bit for comparison. *Test-Original_odt-file.odt* Created with LibreOfficeWriter 4.1.3.2, 64 bit. Photo and caption are fine. Used for both exports. *TEST-LO_4-1-3-2_x64.pdf*Exported from LO Writer 4.1.3.2 64 bit. *Part of the caption is missing*! *TEST-LO_4-0-6-2_32-bit.pdf*Exported from LO Writer 4.0.6.2 32 bit *Caption is fine.** * *Screenshot-PDF-options.png* shows PDF export options (PDFA/1-a) used on both systems. You can see from these files, that when the photo and caption are exported using the 32 bit version, they come out fine. When they are exported using the 64 bit version, part of the the caption is gone. This makes me think that there has to be a bug (or at least a major difference) in the 64 bit version. I copied this graphic and caption from a large file, for the sake of simplicity. As you can see, the problem still occurred, which makes me think the problem has nothing to do with the file size. One references (links) cells from the other one for calculations. The option automatically update links in LO prefs are set. In all LO versions up to 4.0.6 it works fine with no problems. The values from the source spreadsheet appear in destination spreadsheet. Calcs are done as expected. Rising with the 4.1.x (tried all up to 4.1.3.2) now do not update the links automatically anymore. The referencing cells contain only #REF and calculation/formulars fail. Doing a manual update via Edit-Links...-Update works and all values are reread from the source spreadsheet. Opening the same spreadsheet(s) with LO versions 3.x and up to 4.0.6 work correctly, the values are linked and updated as expected. Maybe it is of concern: both spreadsheets are password protected. On loading, the password for both spreadsheets are prompted (and entered correctly). Attach two screenshots. One shows the spreadsheet opened with 4.0.6. When your macro first exports the images and then calls bitmaps.insertByName(myTempName, fileurl) the inserted file remains locked on Windows 7, so it cannot be removed (for cleanup) by the macro via kill(filename). I attach a sample presentation with one image. The macro may be started via Tools - Macro - Run, ExportTest.odp-Standard-Module1. It first exports the image into your tmp-directory, creates a new writer document, and inserts the exported image into that document. After the image was imported, you may switch to the Windows explorer and try to remove the image file by hand, and Windows tells you (translated, so the real english text may differ) The file cannot be deleted because it is still in use by LibreOffice. Until last week we still used the old LibreOffice version 3.5.6 where we never had any problems with WebDAV file locking. After switching to 4.1.3 this occured. The application shows, when opening a file that was opened before and is closed meanwhile the attached message (in english it means: File ... is locked through an other user. At the moment no further write access can't be allowed). STEPS TO REPRODUCE == - Start LibreOffice - Go to the file open dialog and enter a WebDAV URL (http://server/file.odt) and click Open - The file is opened and can be edited - Close LibreOffice (incl. Quickstart) - Start LibreOffice again - Open the same file through WebDAV again and you can't access it any more, because the server says it is locked. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72163] New: Report with Date Parameters Fails
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72163 Priority: medium Bug ID: 72163 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Report with Date Parameters Fails Severity: major Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: bmikow...@centurytel.net Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: NEW Version: 4.1.3.2 release Component: Database Product: LibreOffice I have a report with an embedded SQL statement that prompts for parameters. For example PaymentDate BETWEEN :EnterStartDate END :EnterEndDate. When I run it in LibreOffice 3.6, it functions correctly. When running the DB in LO 4.1.3.2, it gives the following error: 'The Document Report_W_Payments could not be opened. Failed to process the report.' I tried editing the report in the report builder, and I get a little more detail there when executing it. It produces a few more error lines: SQL Status: S1000 An error occurred while creating the report. An exception of type com.sun.star.lang.WrappedTargetException was caught. Failed to process the report. Failed to process the report. I then went into the SQL builder, and ran the same code interactively, supplying the same parameters, and it returns Zero rows, but does execute. If I change the criteria to for payment date to = :EnterStartDate and an additional line of =:EnterEndDate and run it interactively, I get the 62 rows that I would expect. So, it appears as if there may be a few things going on here: 1. Issues with parameter passing to the SQL engine, and 2. That the newer version of HSQL is improperly handling the between statement for date fields. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72146 --- Comment #2 from Michael Natterer mi...@gimp.org --- If you have no profile, any CMYK conversion is entirely pointless. It probably uses a naive formula that is never right in real life. I suspect you are trying CMYK colors because some print shop told you to give them a CMYK document. Did they also give you THEIR color profile? If they didn't, don't use them. They have no clue whatsoever and want to free themselves of any responsibility for correct color reproduction. A proper print shop takes your RGB document (which you can properly edit on an RGB display), do the CMYK conversion using their professional knowledge, give you a proof print and print it JUST LIKE THAT after you approved. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 35960] Add to Dictionary Contextually Words with Curly Apostrophes, Hyphens...
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35960 --- Comment #18 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #17) Are you saying the storing of the U+2019 form needs to be altered? No. But I am guessing that the original reporter was suggesting something similar. Currently the dictionary files only store U+0027 forms. This report seems to be suggesting that when a U+2019 form word is added (via spell-check to the user-defined dictionary) that the U+2019 form should be written to the file, rather than the U+0027 form as currently. If this is the case then this bug needs to be altered to an enhancement as neither OOo or LO have ever done this. My last comment was made in relation to what the average user would want to see on-screen i.e., U+2019 rather than U+0027. This can be achieved via existing means. In other words, what is keeping this bug open? :) I personally feel that this bug report can be RESOLVED as either WONTFIX (if it is made an enhancement) or NOTABUG (if left as a normal bug). As an enhancement it would involve substantially changing the way in which dictionary files are handled / stored for all words contain apostrophes. This would affect not only LO but any application accessing the system dictionary files on a GNU/Linux system. I do not feel this is a good idea. In my opinion it is not a bug but a feature (as you suggested in comment #15.) Alternatively, an option, is add to the help menu an entry about what are the not solved dangerous bugs. Fourth, and the most important, thinking as user, any option for data loss/change, without notice, is beyond than a critical bug and a high risk in their work. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61189] PDF printing mode sends no paper sizes to PS page printers
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61189 --- Comment #12 from crx...@hotmail.com --- I would rename this bug, if I had any clue what better to call it at this point. Obviously it is not the case that it doesn't send paper sizes to all PS page printers and in all environments as I originally implied. As can be seen by tmacalp's long and good testing posting, it is far from clear or simple. My own testing leaves me terminally confused. Even the behavior with PS printing is not perfect in all situations, but it appears to be much better (and more consistent) than PDF printing. This is certainly one major reason that I hope the LO team doesn't plan to drop PS printing mode anytime soon (soon probably meaning years at this point). For many of us, LO is one of the few applications where tray and media selection really matters a LOT... labels, letterhead, envelopes, transparencies, post cards, large signs, table tents, complex wide spreadsheets, card stock, etc. And that is magnified in business where there are sophisticated, multi-tray lasers and copiers, often used by multiple people and departments with complex work flows. In contrast, most other applications' printing being just simple stuff from browsers, accounting systems, Email, etc, that are all just printed on plain letter paper (or plain A4 for people in most other countries). Finally, there could be significant debate over what really is proper behavior in many circumstances, further complicating the issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72143 Khaled Hosny khaledho...@eglug.org changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG CC||khaledho...@eglug.org --- Comment #1 from Khaled Hosny khaledho...@eglug.org --- Unicode does not encode separate old style numerals, they are considered stylistic variants of the regular numerals and are handled by font features not as separate input. The character you are using are Unicode Private Use Area characters, those characters are pretty much an undefined area of Unicode and can be used for any thing. Linux Libertine happens to use them for old style numerals, and that is why it works in the document body, but it is font specific so the font your PDF reader uses for the outlines can contain totally unrelated symbols in this place. So that is basically not a bug. The proper way to use old style numerals is to activate the respective font feature, but unfortunately LibreOffice does not support this for OpenType fonts (see bug 58941), but since you are already using Linux Libertine, I suggest you use the Graphite version, Linux Libertine G, since LibreOffice supports activating Graphite features already. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72090 --- Comment #3 from Shannon W. thesqueed...@gmail.com --- It looks like the issue is (perhaps also) triggered by a tab in the Header. I could not reproduce this today using the above instructions. It is hard to pin down but I am still able to get it to reliably behave badly very quickly. One extra thing I would do is type in the header, then tab until the cursor is at the right margin. typing a few more words you can see it is automatically right-aligned. Then press return and type a little into the second line of the header. I was able to get the crash just by backspacing and altering the header all by itself. However the columns appeared to make the problem occur the other day. At some point one of two things will happen: the header will disappear, and/or LibreOffice will crash. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63384 Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Hardware|Other |All OS|Windows (All) |All Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com --- I can confirm the behaviour described. Status set to NEW. Platform set to All/All. I opened the provided file under Crunchbang 11 x86_64 running: - v3.3.4.1 OOO330m19 Build:401 - v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a Under both versions the Layout, Controls, and Dimension Lines tabs (layers) are not initially displayed. Inserting an additional layer (Layer4) does however cause the entire row of tabs (layers) to display. Behaviour is the same for drawings newly inserted as OLE objects under the two indicated versions that are then subsequently re-opened at a later point (as originally described). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
