At this point, I'd have no concern about dumping the JAB based AT, and
putting any additional effort into refining the XAccessible roles and
keyboard interface with the native bridge.

I have working IA2 based AT verified with latest NVDA and Delete JAB
patch applied [1]. Tested on Win7 64 bit, MSVC 2010, debug build.

Can we have a go for merging that patch to master?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44812] Sort ignores links from local url buttons to cells in the sorted range

2013-12-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #4 from andréb and...@laposte.net ---
Created attachment 90293
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=90293action=edit
sample of problem

This shows the problem.

If the col-1 is sorted (the initial state), each button is linked to a word
beginning with the first 3 letters displayed on the button.

If col-2 is sorted, each button remains linked to the same location, and does
not move with the cell content.
Easily seen, as no button points to a word beginning with the first 3 letters.

If col-1 is again sorted (returning to the initial state), each button again is
linked ot a word beginning with the first 3 letters, as the cells have returned
to their initial position, and the links did not move with the content.

One use case for this would be a table where content is regularly added
randomly, and then table is sorted.
The buttons would no longer point to the same cell content.

Note that if lines (or colomns) were inserted in the correct location, then the
links would move with the insertion, and would continue to point to the correct
cell content.

(In reply to comment #3)
Note: the behavior of sorting may depend on the way you define your links.
Generally you should use HYPERLINK() function.

It is defined by the formula + button definition controls, presumably using the
hyperlink function behind the scenes.

Note that the action for defining a hyperlink is strangely called
open a page web (« Ouvrir la page web »)
instead of a more appropriate
 open a hyperlink
or better
 define a hyperlink
I would be very surprised if it is not usually used for local references.

As readily seen in the definitions, all the links are defined relative to the
current sheet, in the form of
 #a10

In the initial screen of LibreOffice, if I hover the mouse over the recently
viewed items (thumbnails), I expect the mouse icon to change from tilted
arrow to hand with a pointing finger icon.

Further, I expect the mouse to be animated when I click.

But the mouse shows no interaction with the thumbnails: It does not change

When using vertical toolbars, the Font Name and Font Size (and probably
other) buttons do not work as triggers for drop-down menus, as they do in
horizontal mode.

Font Name at least opens the Character dialogue, which is not the expected
behavior.

Font Size does nothing at all.

Feels like vertical toolbar users are second-class citizens, which is curious
given the prevalence of small widescreen monitors on laptops in which vertical
space is at a premium and two-up is not practical.

Using 4.1.2.3 on Mac OS X 10.9.

This function requires search vector to be sorted in ascendant order.
I can see that this is the case in your sceenshot but :
You may not inculde the headers in the search vector.
The field name name false the result : A1:A16 is not sorted, A2:A16 is.

=BUSCAR(Fred;A2:A16;F2:F16) will gives you the expected result.

The recent documents list in the new start center is not completely accessible.
In particular, it doesn't produce the proper events when you navigate through
the documents list using the arrow keys.

Steps to reproduce it:

* Enable screen reader.
* Open LibreOffice start center.
* Navigate with tab until you reach the recent documents list.
* Now use the arrows to highlight a different document. You will see that no
voice notification of this change is emitted.

You can also open the accerciser tool and check the focus events in the
event monitor tab. You will see that no events happen when you navigate
through the documents, but they happen when you use tab to move to other places
in the window.

It would also be good to add an event to notify that you have tabbed into the
recent documents area.

And I tried export .odt to .pdf by LibreOffice 4.0.6. that works great.

Yeah, this is intentional, see the long discussion at bug 61186 about trying to
make the bundle of options and dialogs behave in some logical fashion.

The summary is that now to force the printer to only use the default paper size
from the printer preferences then manually select the option Use only paper
size from printer preferences under the options tab.

We do have lcms2 in the build and we do splat out emit the sRGB standard
profile, in ICC format, in a stream, per IEC61966-2.1 into our pdf files as a
dump.

We don't make any other use of this stuff as far as I can see so.

Here is an interesting additional information.
At first i edited(only field content to anonymize) the original file with
TextPad Editor and saved it.
After this i could open the file by selecting Open with - LibreOffice Calc
in the context menu.

Then i tried to anonymize the original file by using the windows editor which
worked and LibreOffice Calc still can't open the file out of the Windows
Explorer (as the original one).

What is wrong with MS Excel 2003 XML Output?

Thank you for investigating. =)

all of our .xls files (saved with LO 4.0.4) have dotted lines on screen and
won't print most lines with LO 4.1.3.2.

As a workaround our colleagues are now saving those .xls as .ods files and
everything is fine.

This is why we are afraid of upgrading LO versions, those side effects with old
.xls are hard to understand for our users.
For me this is a excel compatibility problem and currently a point against LO.

@bfoman: Thanks for the heads up on those mailing lists. I wasn't aware of the
UX-Advice and Accessibility mailing lists. I will most likely post to them in
due course. UI developers need to be aware of these accessibility issues for
visually impaired users.

Default UI colours are fine, as long as two things are taken into
consideration.

1. Enabling overriding UI colours with the underlying Accessibility theme of
the host operating system, if one is active. LibreOffice has done this well in
the past. Now it is broken in this respect.

2. Enabling visually impaired users to customise to UI look and colours as much
as possible. In the specific case of visual stress/irlen syndrome, being able
to customise colours (especially background and text colours) to precise RGB
values is very important.

Hard coding a white background in a UI is one of the worst things a UI
developer can do for those with Visual Stress.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72022] Integrated help ignored if installed

2013-12-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72022

Hello Jean-Baptiste, *,
I can confirm it with LO Version: 4.2.0.0.beta2 Build-ID:
1a27be92e320f97c20d581a69ef1c8b99ea9885d and installed Germanophone help- as
well as langpack ... :( But I reported it in the past on the QA ML
(http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-qa/2013-November/005635.html
and
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/libreoffice-qa/2013-November/005822.html),
which were ignored for whatever reason ... :( This one should be fixed really
fast and I think, it should be added to the MAB 4.2 bug.
HTH
Thomas.

Works fine for me. Have you tried re-setting your user profile? Is this with
all files or only one specific file? If the latter, please attach that file.

Does the problem persist with LO 4.2b1?
http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED.
Thanks :)

--- Comment #4 from Michael Stahl mst...@redhat.com ---

i think generally we don't want Writer's weird abuse of
\u000x code points to leak out into client code...

this commit looks related:

commit b0f170d7df9cff12535d2ecfd146b32b745a8ef8
Author: Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com
AuthorDate: Wed Jul 18 17:00:52 2012 +0100

0xFFF9 is a better choice for CH_TXTATR_INWORD than 0x0002.

a) the default properties for the code point make it not split a word it
appears in into two different words in any break mode we have. Which is
what we
want from a CH_TXTATR_INWORD

b) unicode TR#20 gives for the interlinear annotation anchor: What to do
if
detected: In a proxy context or browser context, remove U+FFF9, so when we
need to strip it from text to run that text through e.g. the spellchecker
or
word counting then there's a solid precedent for stripping it

In addition I *do* want the footnote placeholder to break the word it
appears
in, that gives the desired wordcount and cursor travelling behaviour

The BREAKWORD and other *random* selection of CH_TXTATR are still odd
choices,
and there's way too many of them.

but apparently that is not in the libreoffice-3-6 branch
so there must be another change here...

commit 1c6f5a16d83a87d7f2233e5c7e60ab5f39546225
Author: Michael Stahl mst...@redhat.com
AuthorDate: Tue Feb 12 19:43:16 2013 +0100

fdo#60668: filter out fieldmark chars from Index entries:

SwTxtNode::GetExpandTxt must filter out all dummy characters used to
represent fields, footnotes, field marks, etc.

... hmm but that doesn't do anything with CH_TXTATR_INWORD.

@RS: The attached file is UTF-8 with BOM. Removing the BOM makes LO detect the
file correctly. It's the same observation as at Bug 46262 comment 9.

The detection fails in filter/source/xmlfilterdetect/filterdetect.cxx in

Maxim, please not this fast, the other thread is dead since 2012.

This BUG is new and LO 4.0.4 opened the file correctly.

We got those files from a big marketing agency in germany and i'm sure we are
not the only company which has to deal with UTF-8 BOM XML files.

Sorry, I should have done more testing.
The formula was working in LO 4.1.3.2 as it stood but isn't working in 4.2
because the first 4 rows are blank.
The original formula was this =MATCH(TODAY(),A1:A2000) and returns the cell ref
for the last cell in the range that has today's date.
If I change it in LO 4.2 to: =MATCH(TODAY(),A5:A2000)+4 - it works as I want
it.

I don't know if you would still consider this a bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69416] XProofreader: footnote no special character anymore

2013-12-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69416

--- Comment #5 from Michael Stahl mst...@redhat.com ---
ok now with a breakpoint in ModelToViewHelper::ModelToViewHelper()
/ SwDoc::Spell() it's obvious that footnotes get a
CH_TXTATR_BREAKWORD and no longer CH_TXTATR_INWORD ...
is that intentional?

ok ModelToViewHelper::ModelToViewHelper() is what expands
fields footnotes too in this case (why do we have N different
expand-node-text functions?).

ah so this commit is probably what changed this:

commit f8f05d43de8728db58c8224c8aebf31ff570b6fc
Author: Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com
AuthorDate: Tue Jul 17 14:03:28 2012 +0100

Resolves: fdo49629 GotoEndOfWord fails with footnote at word end

a) remove special handling of 0x0002 in our custom icu rules.
Which brings us a step closer to getting rid of at least
some of them in favour of the defaults
b) expand the 0x02 in SwTxtNode::BuildConversionMap like we
   do for fields so

Good side effect is our word count and character count now take into
account
the actual footnote indicator text, as does our cursor travelling. Both of
which are more word-alike.
