If the app didn't allow multiple asynchronous instances of the Template Manager
dialog, perhaps this problem would not exist ?

(In reply to comment #5)
I don't understand the Gnoem workaround described in comment #2.
What described there is not a workaround you can apply. It's what GNOME itself
do in order to support apps that don't use GIO. Note that starting with 4.1 you
have 'X-GIO-NoFuse=true' in .desktop files, so LO deals itself with network
using GIO.

It is only gvfs (via smb:// in nautilus) that doesn't lock the file.
With 'X-GIO-NoFuse=true' or without it?

This problem also exists for other file types
What do you mean? Other application that usually create locks, don't create
lock in that case?

so I don't know that it is a LibreOffice bug per se.
I'm not sure. If LO has write permissions to the share, there is no reason why
it couldn't create a lock file there.

(In reply to comment #23)
  0x0001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libreg.so.3]
  0x0001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libstore.so.3]

Ach, I see now what's going wrong. Those two libraries are private parts of LO
(cf. ure/source/README) that extensions must not link against, and their names
changed in LO 4.1, so libAntidote_32.OOo.MT.P100.so cannot find them any
longer.

There should be a workaround, creating symlinks (in
/opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib, as libAntidote_32.OOo.MT.P100.so also has a bogus
RPATH, which should be harmless but comes in handy here), but the exact recipe
would depend on your answer to comment 24.

In any event, this is an error that would need fixing in the extension. (I'm
not sure why they link against the LO-internal reg and store libraries at all,
there's not much functionality in them that should be of use for extension
developers. We did erroneously document that functionality at
api.libreoffice.org in the past, though.) If you can establish a contact to
the authors of that extension, I'd be willing to talk to them whether and how
best to address this problem.

Changing the saving behavior of 4.1 is one option. Another option is to let
the user decide how to open the file, a kind of He user, I've noticed a zm
command. How should I interpret it?. The crucial point in the discussion
with Armin was, whether an explicit decision about the interpretation is
expecting too much of average users.

Sometimes we can't even prompt the user -- e.g. if we're doing headless
document conversion on the command line (although in those cases I guess we
could print some kind of warning about the situation)

Versions 4.1 and 4.2 beta 2 do not display embedded EMF files correctly. This
used to work on version 4.0. Running on Windows.

I have attached an EMF file, and an ODT file that was created using version
4.0. The file 4.0.jpg shows the file displayed in v4.0. The file 4.2.jpg
shows the exact same file opened in v4.2 beta 2.

The same behaviour also occurred in v4.1.

Creating the file in v4.2 beta 2 also exhibits this display bug.

Yes. It has been fixed in 4.2.0 beta2.

Sorry, I said this bug occured in 4.2.0, I made a mistake - after downloading

Do you plan to fix it along 4.1.x line? (I am learning the development process

Creating a link to a named range works (e.g.
VLOOKUP(a1,'file:///C:/some/path/file1.ods'#rangename,1,0) ) even if file1.ods
is not currently open. However after saving the file with the link and
re-opening, the formula just shows #NAME (even before the update links dialog
is answered). Manually updating the links does nothing. Editing the cell (this
involves actually making a change e.g. deleting the final bracket and replacing
it) makes the formula work again.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72595] New: Other: Libreoffice disconnects RDP session on MACOSX

2013-12-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72595

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72595
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Other: Libreoffice disconnects RDP session on MACOSX
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: agoston.ti...@igseurope.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
I have a very strange problem with LibreOffice.
We provide MS Terminal Servers in a cloud. Each Terminal Server has got a
libreoffice installed. One of my customer bought a MacBook Pro and he connect
to his Terminal Server via MS RDP client. When he open a libre office document
or excel (calc) file the MS RDP session always disconnects. I tried with
another Terminal Server with an older version of Libre, but still the same
problem. I tried with a 3rd Terminal Server with MS Office and there isn't any
problem with documents opening/editing/saving. The problem only comes when
LibeOffice is running. :(
Is there any solution to this error? (I found this problem on an MS forum, but
no solution yet)
The Terminal Servers are Windows Server 2008 R2.
Additional information: From windows clients the the problem doesn't exists.

Steps to reproduce:
1. MacOSX Lion + the new MS RDP client
2. Connect to a Windows Server 2008 R2
3. Open a document and try to work with it (write, save, save as...etc)

Current behavior:

Expected behavior:
The remote desktop session disconnects.

Operating System: Windows (other)
Version: 4.1.3.2 release

Hi JBF, Thank you your advice.

I tried that next step.

1. Remove JRE
2. Remove LibreOfficeDev 4.2 beta2
3. Delete user profile
4. LibreOfficeDev 4.2 beta2 install again
5. Select custom in installer
6. uncheck Wiki-Publisher
7. Install is Finish
8. Launch LibreOfficeDev 4.2 beta2

Result is that same dialog showed endless.
LibreOfficeDev 4.2 beta2 dosen't launch.

I did the following for confirmation.
1. JRE install again
2. LibreOfficeDev 4.2 beta2 Launch
3. tool-Extention manager

There was not in the list Wiki-Pubulisher.

Is this bug same bug as bug 71179 ?

Best regards. Akira

I confirm the behaviour with attachment 84664, Windows 7 pro SP1 32 bit, MS
Visio 2007 and LibreOffice Writer, bith with version 4.1.3.2 and 4.2.0.0beta2.

Used method:
-open visio drawing with Visio
-opened existing Writer document
-in visio, selected all with Ctrl-A and copied to clipboard with Ctrl-C
-in writer:
4.2.0 : paste nor past-special were available (object too large?)
4.1.3 : paste special with Shift-Ctrl-V and selected visio object. Object
seemed to be pasted, but after minutes of busy machine, Writer crashed. The
repair-dialog appeared, but could not succeed in succesfully repairing (it did
report so) and opening the document. Only way out was to cancel repair.

Copy/paste special of parts of the Visio drawing (50% or less) does work,
though.

Visio, LibreOffice 4.1.3 and 4.2.0 were all open simultaneously.

Hardware information:
2GB RAM, pentium processor, Windows performance index 3.3

Font Embedding was definitely working on 4.1.0 and 4.1.1, as I used the feature
for the LibreOffice conference presentations to produce the relevant slide. I
do not know if it was working on 4.1.2, as I never tried it with that version.

The first time I realized that the feature was broken I was using 4.1.3, but I

There are large numbers of workarounds and ifdefs for SunStudio
in the entire code base. Since we have no interest in using
SunStudio's buggy C++ compiler (and LO has been successfully
built with GCC on Solaris or Solaris-derived OSes), all these
ifdefs are just clutter and can be removed.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45946] EDITING: Allow conversion of fields like date, variable or mail merge in selected text

2013-12-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45946

--- Comment #3 from Stian Øby Johansen stian@gmail.com ---
This also greatly affects the usefulness of reference management tools, such as
the popular Zotero. These tools have LibreOffice extensions that enable quick
insertion and auto-generation of footnote text with the use of field codes.
Before sending a scientific article to a publisher or a journal the writer will
normally need to remove said field codes.

Reference styles often mandate the use of italics or other types of styling to
references, and it is therefore very impractical that these field codes cannot
be removed without also removing the formatting. Manually adding back italics
etc. can be extremely cumbersome in a longer academic article or a book
manuscript, with hundreds of footnotes.

See also this thread on the Zotero forums:

Introducing number 0 as regular page number breaks the method to get a first
page without page number, which is described in the specification part 1
section 19.863.3
quote
Note: To display the current page number on all pages except the first or last
page, use a combination of the text:select-page and text:page-adjust

In LO4.3 the number is displayed on the first page too, in LO4.1 it is not

I've opened an empty page of calc, in cell A1 I've typed the function =today()
and the result is showed using font Arial and size 10. Now in another cell I've
typed the function =Year(A1) and in this time the result had font Arial but
the size is 6.8 and the same happens with all functions. Today is the unique
using the correct Arial 10 font, while all other functions use that reduced
Arial 6.8 font size.

The workaround suggested by Regina in comment #12 ... is not effective
for lines: the resultant files produced are basically identical

The problem is with horizontal or vertical lines with zero width, i. e. if one
of the dimensions is zero. If the line has a nonzero width or placed with an
angle, the workaround works.

Cells with conditional format in copied sheet are not refreshed automatically

Presumably a slightly different manifestation of this bug
(LO 4.1.3.2 Windows 7 - 64)

In sheet Sh1, cells A1:A8 have a red background if A1 contains a negative
value.
Conditional format works as expected.

Sh2 was created as a copy of Sh1 (right click on tab)
On modification of A1, the background of A2:A8 remains unchanged.

Some actions restoring proper display :
-- ctrl+shift+F9 (not F9 by itself)
-- moving or redimensioning the window
-- going to and from another sheet...

The LibreOffice fax wizard is not adopting all personal data into the fax
document.

Steps to reproduce: Call File - wizards - fax. In the first step choose
Business fax - Modern Fax from Private. In the second step drop the logo and in
the third step choose 'Use user data for return address'. Then go to the next
steps and finish the wizard.

You will end up with a document which language setting is English (USA)
although your LibreOffice has another language setting (e.g. German).

The fax document will not adopt your name in the header. The header always
contain only the following data:
StreetNumber, City, Zip-Code
This maybe the correct order for English (USA) but e.g. not for German. In that
case the zip-code has to be in front of the city without any comma in between.

The fields on the right side of the created fax document are empty but the fax
number.

This bug occurs also in LibreOffice 4.1.4

Tested with LibreOffice 4.2-beta2-x64 and 4.1.4-x64 on openSuSE 12.3-x64

using the Function Wizard if a function uses just a cell content as argument,
it's normal that now it retrns an interval?
Example: in a cell A1 I write the function Today() and in cell B1 want to
extract just the year. Using the Function Wizard I obtain the following output:
Year(A1:A1) while with all previous LO versions the result was simply
Year(A1).
Why this new Function Wizard single cell working? Considering that both
Year(A1:A1) and Year(A1) works good and produce the same correct result,
why to use the 1st one?
Thanks,

currently there are lots of places where manually macros
UNICODE and _UNICODE are defined:

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/archive/2004/02/12/71851.aspx

git grep DUNICODE
git grep D_UNICODE

we should rather define that globally in solenv/gbuild/com_MSC_defs.mk.

also there is no point to ever calling the archaic so-called ANSI
Win32 functions (end in *A); probably it's best to call the
UCS-2 Unicode ones directly (end in *W).

corresponding string literals can be written as Lfoo

maybe once every function call is directly to a *W function
the UNICODE _UNICODE can be removed altogether, but as a first
step it's probably best to define that globally.

The libreoffice4.1-*.desktop files in /usr/share/mimelnk/application are broken
in two ways:
1) they don't contain any localisation for the Comment field, i.e. file type
visible to user, like OpenDocument Text;
2) they specify either non-existing icons (for ODF types -- things like
oasis-text instead of libreoffice4.1-oasis-text) or no icon whatsoever (for
MSO types).

I agree that it is a cosmetic issue, but it leaves bad impression of the
product, since the content of a folder with ODF files looks ugly due to this.

Confirmed with 4.1.4.1 (that version is absent from above list, btw)
DEB-packages for x86 (as published by TDF), but this is probably already older.
Windows seems to be unaffected, can't test on Mac.

4.2.0 beta 2 is also affected.

The wizards are available to start a new fax (etc.) document from scratch. If

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72614] New: Impress hangs on creating new style

2013-12-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72614

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72614
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Impress hangs on creating new style
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: mihh...@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

When I try to create a new style via right-click in the Styles and Formatting
tab of the sidebar, Impress hangs with near-100% CPU usage.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open Impress
2) Open the Styles and Formatting tab on the sidebar
3a) Right-click on any existing style, or
3b) Right-click on empty area below existing styles
4) Choose New...

Expected result: dialog to create a new style appears.

Observed result: Impress hangs with nearly 100% CPU usage.

LibreOffice 4.1.4.2 (this version is absent from the above list), DEBs
published by TDF.

Creating a new style in a similar way works in Writer, Calc and Draw.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64533] Check out of .doc and .docx documents over CMIS does not properly redirect to working copy file

2013-12-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64533

--- Comment #18 from linzhixing tomoyuki.haya...@aegif.jp ---
How is this bug going now?
I reproduced on LibreOffice4.1.3.2 with Alfresco Community version 4.2.e and
also with a CMIS compliant server called NemakiWare(http://nemakiware.com/),
which I have developed.

In both cases, after one checked out a document(.txt, .odt) successfully, it
does not redirect to PWC but still remains the original file.
So I closed Libreoffice once, then opened a PWC.

In addition, strange to say, PWC is not showed in the folder navigation on
NemakiWare(this is allowed by CMIS specs), but when I selected a file after
reopening LibreOffice, it seemed to be directed to its PWC.

@almos
are you maybe complaining that once the password dialog pops out you cannot
enter any text in other LibO windows, until you close the password dialog?
is it this the bug you are talking about?

Thanks for reporting, but please report bugs with status UNCONFIRMED. They only
should change to NEW until someone was able to reproduce this behavior. Thanks
in advance.

But I can reproduce this behavior ;-) , tested using Mac OSX 10.9 with
LibreOffice 4.1.4.2 RC and LibreOffice Version: 4.2.0.0.beta2 Build ID:
1a27be92e320f97c20d581a69ef1c8b99ea9885d

Looks a critical bug to me.

Well, doing some tests I detected the problem is a bit bigger, it's extended to
some combinations...

If you select a box and put right click on it, choose edit Style then go to
Transparency tab and choose no transparency option, the effect is:

When you choose Gradient option in the bar tool, will be exported but to
wrong position.
When you choose Hatching option in the bar tool, will be not exported.
When you choose Bitmap option in the bar tool, will be exported, but wrong
size.
When you choose Color option in the bar tool, will be exported as expected.
