.ODP Test of Custom animation freeform path.

Problem description: I cannot seem to be able to edit a custom animation
freeform path.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select an object (I used a default "diamond"). On the Custom animation pane
select Add > Motion Path > select Freeform line.
2. Draw the freeform line for the path.
3. Check the path by playing the Slideshow [F5]
4. Save the presentation
5. Select the path and click the< Edit points> button
6. Move some points check the path (note that the item in the icon bar
does not become available!)
7. Play the animation with the button or [F5]

Current behavior:
The new shape of the path is not used.

Expected behavior:
The new shape of the freeform path is used.

I did notice that dragging handles to reshape the freeform path did change the
path and such a presentation could be Saved As... an new presentation. This
could be a "workaround" that may be added to some documentation somewhere?

  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.4.2 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description
Currently in Impress there are 2 style categories available:
- Graphical Styles
- Presentation Styles

I use and like the styles functionality in LibO in general very much. In
Impress i defined some 10-20 styles. The problem I observe is that each style
has 14 sub^elements, which require a lot of set-up work to define a few styles
with all sub-elements required.

All the many variations which are in Impress given are great and needed in
general

However, very often company regulations or personal preferences require a
strong limitation of the possible features of a graphical elements.
I personally use as 5 standard fillings with certain fonts but the text options
require a few more variations. Thus the 5 standard fillings with certain fonts
would than become 15 standard fillings with certain fonts and text feactures.
This would explode the number of current Graphical Styles

Proposal
Add A new style category "Graphical Styles Elements" which allow creation of
styles for all 14 subelements.

This would allow users to create styles like
Area_red
Area_blue
Area_gradient_ bluewhite_vertical
etc

Text_ top left alignement
Text_ word wrap_no resize
etc

Line_red
Line_blue
LIne_redthin
LIne_red thick
etc

Such a functionality would allow me to have a few styles for graphical objects
(as they are right now) and add a few Graphical Styles Basics. The latter I
could use to create the varitions of the first styles.

My current work around is a list of styles I am using to adjust graphical
objects the way I want them to appear in my company standard.

I can be contacted for discussions and tests.

Hello,

Just to tell that I have no longer the bug.

Because I changed of machine ! the new one has much more memory capacities.

My LibreOffice version came from PPA, I had taken a screenshot, but it is no
longer need to attach it, I think.

-> But I will attach one message I had sometimes when LibreOffice ejected me.

It could be something to know for other bugs, for other persons who don't have
enough memory on the computer ?

-> Last thing : that bug came only when clicking on the icons of colour. If I
did changes through the "menu/format/caractère"(in french), there was no
problem.

Thank you for what you do, all the bugcatchers :)

I have reinstalled a fresh version of Ubuntu 12.04 along with my preferred and
Ubuntu approved software tools including LO. I have not had the problem since.
I would guess LO was damaged by an unofficial installation of some program that
sounded too good to pass up.

It would be my guess that this was not a LO bug. Just LO being damaged by some
other unconventional program. It works fine after reinstalling it.

Some cases with wrong results of TYPE function

The function TYPE returns the value 8 for some cases, see attached file. But
the valid values of the TYPE function are given in a table in the specification
and the value 8 doesn't exist there.

The help has "Value is a specific value for which the data type is determined.
Value 1 = number, value 2 = text, value 4 = Boolean value, value 8 = formula,
value 16 = error value." But the specification explicitly states "If a
Reference is provided, the reference is first dereferenced, and any formulas
are evaluated."

Of course you can use Ctrl-Tab to cycle between different options offered.
But the thing is , that in either situation you need to do something.

Also via Tools > Cell content > Auto imput (or similar, looking at Dutch now)
you can turn of the autoimput.

In general, it's best practice to put things where they logically belong.
Otherwise, inconsistency slowly creeps in and we end up with a mess. This is
already apparent in e.g. the current command organization, which is one of the
most frequent complaints about LibreOffice. Some things are in the menu bar,
some in the toolbar, some in the panel, some in the status bar, some elsewhere,
and many in several of those. There are categories like "Edit" or "Tools" in
the menu bar, or "Standard" for a toolbar, where anything could belong.

So... Let's not dig ourselves further into this mess, but instead let's try to
solve it. :)

I agree with Pierre Yves.
I reproduce on Windows 7/64 and OpenMandriva & Version : 4.2.0.1
I do not reproduce the bug when "Math baseline alignement" is unchecked.
But in that case, formula are not correctly aligned.

If I edit the formula : Format -> Spacing -> Category -> Borders, I get
something like 252,52 mm for each (left, right, top, bottom) instead of 0 or 1
mm.

You have not mentioned your input in the field FORMULA CELL? Which formula have
you been using as the "target" formula for the GOAL SEEK function (in the
FORMULA CELL field)? GOAL SEEK needs here a formula for the calculation.

Or was your issue only regarding the designation "Formula cell must contain a
formula" or an in principle issue regarding the use of GOAL SEEK? If it was
only regarding the designation then I would agree that in this case it would be
better and clear to name it "Formula cell must contain a formula" (probably an
easy hack).

Since there is a spelling error in your message I don't quite understand your
intention and the question itself. The problem that I point to is that Calc
autocompletes erroneously, when I don't want it to autocomplete. I noticed the
same behaviour in Writer. If I want to type "Manage", and it outputs
"Management", for instance.

You mean exactly that the workaround is to use quotes around the name?
(In that case, more applications /situations will face the same problem, I

Hi David, I have recreated the problem. Just to confirm what I am expected to
see:

When I open the file in MS word I get 2-3 pages of table of contents, nothing
else. When I open the file in LO (Windows portable or Fedora 4.1.4.2) I only
see the first 2 lines of the TOC. Does that summarise what you are seeing also?

As a FYI. I also saved the docx file as doc in word but this made no difference
when I opened in LO.

I noticed that this "bug" introduce problems on plugin for PDF to odg
conversion. If the PDF contain a group of objects with text that was scaled,
the result imported is a group scaled with text at the wrong size and position.
Maybe that the plugin try to create a group in full size and set the scale.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66577] Cursor is sometimes misplaced when editing text on Mac OS X

2013-12-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66577

Dear Cosmin and Fellows Bug Commenters,

If I may, I would like to insist on the fact that this is NOT a cursor bug.
The cursors is, stays, remains at the right position.
This is a *letter-spacing* bug that makes the text being improperly rendered
when spell checking is activated.
I agree, you suffer from "cursor misbehavior" but, please, keep reading:

-1- Can we agree that "spell checking" should NOT change text rendering ?

Yes ?
Then take you favorite "wrong cursor" file and toogle spell checking on and
off.
Text rendering changes, OK ?
More accurately, line lengths changes, sometimes expand, somtimes contract.
This is the bug.
Even if the cursor where behaving OK, we do not want the spell checking to wack
our page desing.

-2- Now that's a spellcheck text rendring issue, what about the cursor.

Try this:
- type
- disactivate spellcheck
- place the cursor when you whant to inject text, between a and b
- activate spellcheck,
- the cursor did NOT move on screen, even if the text did.
- insert text
- you get aainsertbbb

Conclusion:
The bug does NOT move the cursor
The bug DOES move the text
The bug does NOT affect text insert logic

please accept my appologies for CAPPING:

*THIS IS NOT A CURSOR BUG*

As soon as the bug -1- is solved, the bug -2- is no longer present.

As we are helping programmers finding a bug, we should pay attention not to
send them searching in the wrong piece of code.

Thanks.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73080] New: COUNTBLANK counts formula with reference to blank cell

2013-12-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73080

Bug ID: 73080
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: COUNTBLANK counts formula with reference to blank cell
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Make sure B2 is empty, that means, that it does not contain any content.
Write the formula =B2 into cell B3
Write the formula =COUNTBLANK(B2:B3) into cell A1.
Expected result: A1 shows number 1.
Seen result: A1 shows number 2.

The content of cell B3 is a formula, therefore it is not empty and may not be
counted. The specification only allows the exception, that a cell, which
contains a zero-length string, may be counted by COUNTBLANK.

Apache OpenOffice, Gnumeric, and Excel does not count cell B3 and return 1 in
the example given above.

Suggestion: LibreOffice does not count cell which has a formula that refers an
empty cell.

Make sure cell B2 is empty, that means it has no content at all.
Write formula =TYPE(B2) into cell A1.
Expected behavior: You get a number.
Seen behavior: Err:502. That is "Error: Invalid argument".

The function TYPE is specified with the Syntax: TYPE( Any value ) and the rule
"If a Reference is provided, the reference is first dereferenced, and any
formulas are evaluated." [ODF1.2 part2 section 6.13.33 TYPE]

Because of argument type "Any" the function cannot result in an error.
Gnumeric, Apache OpenOffice, and Excel return the number 1 in this case.

Suggestion: LibreOffice should return 1 in this case too.

Then Windows searches for an answer, doesn't find any, shuts down LibreOffice.

Note that the value 335544343, the value of aStatusVector[1], is
manifest in firebird/src/include/gen/iberror.h as the value of
constant isc_invalid_blr. I have observed one assignment (but not the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 73073] New: exception from evaluateStatusVector (firebird/Util.cxx:53) after SQL error

2013-12-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73073

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 73073
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: exception from evaluateStatusVector
(firebird/Util.cxx:53) after SQL error
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: lo_b...@iseries-guru.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Steps to reproduce:

(1) Run LibreOffice with command-line parameter --base to create (but
do not register) /tmp/a1.odb with embedded firebird database.
Program presents window "a1.odb".

(2) Take menu options Tools > "SQL...". Program presents window
"Execute SQL Statement".

(3) Paste command
create table t1 ( id integer not null, field1 varchar(20) not
null );
into "Command to Execute" and click . LO reports status:
"1: Command executed successfully."

(4) Paste command
CREATE TRIGGER T1_BI FOR T1
ACTIVE BEFORE INSERT POSITION 0
AS BEGIN
if (new.id IS null) THEN new.id =
GEN_ID(GEN_T1ID, 1);
END
into "Command to execute" and click . LO reports status:
2: firebird_sdbc error:
*invalid request BLR at offset 23
*generator GEN_T1ID is not defined
caused by
'isc_commit_transaction'
This is entirely to be expected. (It was an accident the first
time I did it.)

(5) Close window "Execute SQL Statement". Program returns focus to
window "a1.odb".

(6) Take menu options File > Quit. Program presents prompt "Save
Document?".

(7) Click . Program fails with SIGABRT; the .odb is not
updated.

Note that the failure is somewhat fragile:

(*) Not every SQL error in place of step (4) is followed by a crash.
On the other hand, I have seen failures even when step (4) was
followed by perfectly good SQL commands.

(*) I am using a debug build. Unless the problem is seen in a
non-debug build, I would presume that the debug build is part of
the cause of the crash.

These observations are from master commit b0926378, fetched
2013-12-06, configured as:

--enable-option-checking=fatal
--enable-dbgutil
--enable-crashdump
--without-system-postgresql
--without-myspell-dicts
--with-extra-buildid
--without-doxygen
--with-external-tar=/home/terry/lo_hacking/git/src

Can you still confirm this issue with the latest release of LO?
Can anybody else confirm this issue?
Otherwise, I would propose to close this issue.

The Character and Paragraph sections of the Properties panel, among others, are
missing the style picker, which is otherwise accessible from the toolbar.

As the panel should offer the most important properties and as we want to
encourage the use of styles, a style picker should be added to every section
for which it is relevant.
