Problem description: I cannot seem to be able to edit a custom animation freeform path. Steps to reproduce: 1. Select an object (I used a default "diamond"). On the Custom animation pane select Add > Motion Path > select Freeform line. 2. Draw the freeform line for the path. 3. Check the path by playing the Slideshow [F5] 4. Save the presentation 5. Select the path and click the< Edit points> button 6. Move some points check the path (note that the item in the icon bar does not become available!) 7. Play the animation with the button or [F5] Current behavior: The new shape of the path is not used. Expected behavior: The new shape of the freeform path is used. I did notice that dragging handles to reshape the freeform path did change the path and such a presentation could be Saved As... an new presentation. This could be a "workaround" that may be added to some documentation somewhere? https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73086 Priority: medium Bug ID: 73086 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FORMATTING: Enhancement: Additional Style Elements in Impress for graphical objects Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: bugquestcon...@online.de Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.4.2 release Component: Presentation Product: LibreOffice Problem description Currently in Impress there are 2 style categories available: - Graphical Styles - Presentation Styles I use and like the styles functionality in LibO in general very much. In Impress i defined some 10-20 styles. The problem I observe is that each style has 14 sub^elements, which require a lot of set-up work to define a few styles with all sub-elements required. All the many variations which are in Impress given are great and needed in general However, very often company regulations or personal preferences require a strong limitation of the possible features of a graphical elements. I personally use as 5 standard fillings with certain fonts but the text options require a few more variations. Thus the 5 standard fillings with certain fonts would than become 15 standard fillings with certain fonts and text feactures. This would explode the number of current Graphical Styles Proposal Add A new style category "Graphical Styles Elements" which allow creation of styles for all 14 subelements. This would allow users to create styles like Area_red Area_blue Area_gradient_ bluewhite_vertical etc Text_ top left alignement Text_ word wrap_no resize etc Line_red Line_blue LIne_redthin LIne_red thick etc Such a functionality would allow me to have a few styles for graphical objects (as they are right now) and add a few Graphical Styles Basics. The latter I could use to create the varitions of the first styles. My current work around is a list of styles I am using to adjust graphical objects the way I want them to appear in my company standard. I can be contacted for discussions and tests. But with enough space, and if people use the side > panel.. one could use that space for the toolbar that then can be hidden??? > :) In general, it's best practice to put things where they logically belong. Otherwise, inconsistency slowly creeps in and we end up with a mess. This is already apparent in e.g. the current command organization, which is one of the most frequent complaints about LibreOffice. Some things are in the menu bar, some in the toolbar, some in the panel, some in the status bar, some elsewhere, and many in several of those. There are categories like "Edit" or "Tools" in the menu bar, or "Standard" for a toolbar, where anything could belong. So... Which formula have you been using as the "target" formula for the GOAL SEEK function (in the FORMULA CELL field)? GOAL SEEK needs here a formula for the calculation. Or was your issue only regarding the designation "Formula cell must contain a formula" or an in principle issue regarding the use of GOAL SEEK? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66577] Cursor is sometimes misplaced when editing text on Mac OS X
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66577 --- Comment #36 from Bernard Mendiburu --- Dear Cosmin and Fellows Bug Commenters, If I may, I would like to insist on the fact that this is NOT a cursor bug. The cursors is, stays, remains at the right position. This is a *letter-spacing* bug that makes the text being improperly rendered when spell checking is activated. I agree, you suffer from "cursor misbehavior" but, please, keep reading: -1- Can we agree that "spell checking" should NOT change text rendering ? Yes ? Then take you favorite "wrong cursor" file and toogle spell checking on and off. Text rendering changes, OK ? More accurately, line lengths changes, sometimes expand, somtimes contract. This is the bug. Even if the cursor where behaving OK, we do not want the spell checking to wack our page desing. -2- Now that's a spellcheck text rendring issue, what about the cursor. Try this: - type - disactivate spellcheck - place the cursor when you whant to inject text, between a and b - activate spellcheck, - the cursor did NOT move on screen, even if the text did. - insert text - you get aainsertbbb Conclusion: The bug does NOT move the cursor The bug DOES move the text The bug does NOT affect text insert logic please accept my appologies for CAPPING: *THIS IS NOT A CURSOR BUG* As soon as the bug -1- is solved, the bug -2- is no longer present. As we are helping programmers finding a bug, we should pay attention not to send them searching in the wrong piece of code. (e.g. Ivan and Ivana - Serbian names) Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Calc and enter "Ivana" in the cell 2. Switch to another cell and Start typing "Ivan" to get the autocomplete 3. Press or to leave the cell Current behavior: Calc does not stop at "Ivan" when autocompleting Expected behavior: Calc should stop at "Ivan" and discard the autocomplete information. P.S.: I understand that this may cause some major changes in shortcut assignment, but the present state of things causes unintentioned and unnoticed errors. Program presents window "a1.odb". (2) Take menu options Tools > "SQL...". Program presents window "Execute SQL Statement". (3) Paste command create table t1 ( id integer not null, field1 varchar(20) not null ); into "Command to Execute" and click . LO reports status: "1: Command executed successfully." (4) Paste command CREATE TRIGGER T1_BI FOR T1 ACTIVE BEFORE INSERT POSITION 0 AS BEGIN if (new.id IS null) THEN new.id = GEN_ID(GEN_T1ID, 1); END into "Command to execute" and click . LO reports status: 2: firebird_sdbc error: *invalid request BLR at offset 23 *generator GEN_T1ID is not defined caused by 'isc_commit_transaction' This is entirely to be expected. Program presents prompt "Save Document?". (7) Click . Program fails with SIGABRT; the .odb is not updated. Note that the failure is somewhat fragile: (*) Not every SQL error in place of step (4) is followed by a crash. On the other hand, I have seen failures even when step (4) was followed by perfectly good SQL commands. (*) I am using a debug build.
