This is likely to be a duplicate of Bug 52226, but in my case (with my own
document) I did not recover the pictures after saving a copy in ODT format -
actually, even the frames disappeared completely.

I tried opening your document but LibreOffice does not want to (I even got an
error report on Ubuntu). I am using LO 4.1.5.1.

Could you give it another go with a more recent version of LO and tell us if
Bug 52226 describes exactly your problem?

In Writer 4.2 the page numbering restarts erroneously when a paragraph
identation has changed manually using the ruler handles. The page following the
change is always numbered as "1". The problem applies also to documents created

paragraph formatting from the menu.

I just finished spending over an hour reading the entire 12-year history from
the link on your stub, Jean-Marc. Many people saying the same as me.

Two comments seemed important to me. One was #202 by liotier, commenting on
what an epiphany it is for people that he teaches to use an outliner. I find
the same reaction--that when I teach others to use it, they are forever
grateful. Liotier says, "This is a recurring theme in collecting user
requirements: 19th century people don't want a car - they want a faster horse.
Just because the majority of users don't know they need an outliner doesn't
mean is would not be useful to them."

Liotier seems to me to have put his finger on the whole problem. For anyone who
knows how to use an outliner, it quickly becomes essential. For the rest of the
population, there's no demand because they've never tried it. My guess is that
includes many of the LO and OO developers. 

Hey, people! We don't want a faster horse! We want a car!

Just this year, james flowerdew made another comment, #232, which is also
pointed at the problem. He wrote "Free software that only half replaces paid
software is actually aiding it's paid competitors."

Finally, I'd like to quote Liotier, because he worked in software production
for 20 years. "But from twenty years of writing as a software projects manager,
I can testify that word processing productivity and well-structured documents
are strongly correlated to the use of the outline mode."

I also worked in software development, though not as long, as a senior
technical writer at Fujitsu. My past comments were about the issue of enhancing
creativity and ease of organizing for a nontechnical writer, because that's
what I am now. 

But as a technical writer, I also found it crucial for writing well-structured
technical documents, particularly since I was tasked to writing developer
guides in a language that I barely knew. (I wrote a jdbc class for one of my
guides which I considered a crowning achievement, because it was immediately
implemented by sales engineers.)

I also used to write everything in M$Word, and then when it was fully vetted,
I'd import it into Framemaker, which I also hooked up to print the API directly
from the javadocs, and I did my editing and writing of the javadocs in Word
using the outliner, and then used macros to format them for insertion into the
code.

The outliner was absolutely essential to doing my job as a top technical
writer. I do not understand why this has been an open issue for 12 years.

"Merge and Center Cells" button as it is in Calc. 

Please add such a button to the Impress tools.

My company is willing to fund this implementation. It doesn´t need to correctly
open MS  Office files. We just need the "surround footer" and "surround header"
options to be present for new files for editing in libreoffice, so we can
remove page borders from around header and footer, but leave them surrounding
the main text in the document.

I also see this in LibO 4.2.0 release.

Issue is severe. It is not just that the width and height of small objects is
displayed incorrectly. Big issue is that one /cannot enter/ widths or heights
smaller than 1 cm!

1. Open libreoffice draw or impress
2. Draw a little object (e.g. a 2 mm x 3 mm rectangle)
3. Select object, right click and select 'position and size' to open position
and size dialog
4. Note that object width is 1 and object height is 1 cm
5. Try to use the little arrows on the side of the boxes used to enter width
and height. Note that it is impossible to get any number smaller than 1 cm
6. Try to enter a number using the keyboard. Note that any quantity smaller
than 1 cm becomes 1 cm.

Marked as regression since this was evidently OK before LibO 4.2.

Consider rising priority. This is most likely an easy fix, but as is it makes
LibO 4.2 not acceptable for any drawing requiring some precision.

Two notes:
* before introducing this, I suggest to take a broader look at various uses of
selection lists in the suite;
* a possible alternative is that the area in which the mouse event for drop
down is widened with some px (have seen this being done for other items too)

Hi nickssaleinfo, thanks for reporting.

If I open directly your file its open in writer, right with a txt extension.
Click in the file without open it and select the type file to csv, opens fine
in calc, please see the attached screenshot.

Test file

Tested again with 4.2.0 and it's little better, but top line of comment box
still staying behinde when comment collapses.
In older versions you needed to have text bellow comment box for part of
comment box to stay on screen. In 4.2 you can reproduce it without any text.

Thanks, I didn't know about packJPG. 

However, I don't think we can use it because if we "pack" a jpeg file in the
document then other programs (OpenOffice, Calligra, MS Office for example) that
don't support packJPG (and probably never will) won't be able to show it.

Until version 4.2.0.4 it was possible to select hidden cells using the keyboard
in exactly the same way as it is possible to select visible cells. It is now
impossible to select anything other than all hidden cells between visible
cells. 

Per bug 74658 this change is apparently intentional (although I do not
understand how this is at all beneficial), so there needs to be an option to
enable to old behaviour to re-enable the workflows that depend on it.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a spreadsheet with three columns A, B and C
2. Hide column B
3. Click in cell C1 and press shift+left to select columns

Current behaviour:
Selection becomes A1:C1

Previous and desired behaviour:
Selection becomes B1:C1
