I couldn't really make sense from these issues:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62032
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69813

but these seem to be related.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76225] New: paragraph's numbering style inherited from template isn't applied

2014-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76225

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 76225
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: paragraph's numbering style inherited from template
isn't applied
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.7.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

I have template with headings having specific numbering style applied to them
(setting numbers styles, positions, prefixes etc.).

If I create a document from this template, I have headings with correct
appearance of numberings, and switching numbering on paragraph off/on returns
to the correct appearance, however:

problem 1) paragraph style 'Outline & numbering' tab has 'Outline numbering'
(instead of specific name) in 'Numbering style' field, and that field is grayed
out, too.

problem 2) If a document is created from another template (or from blank) and
then assigned a template (using the Template Changer 1.2.5 extension), then
template's paragraphs' numbering styles are never propagated to the respective
paragraph styles in document, regardless of any subsequent changes to template
and LibO offering to 'update styles because template was changed' -- generic
numbering styles are used. The respective field in paragraph style looks like
in problem 1.

***

I cannot compare that with the 4 series behaviour because there's either no
DocumentInfo.Template or DocumentInfo.TemplateFileName field in 4 series
document structures, so Template Changer 1.2.5 extension doesn't work.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37837] VIEWING Writer vertically scrolling in .odt with eps becomes unresponsive for 10+ seconds

2014-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37837

Using libreoffice-writer 1:4.2.1-0ubuntu1~saucy1 on Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit and I
am experiencing this bug as well.

Would it be possible to have some details about the current status of this bug
please?

I would be so glad to be able to work efficiently in Writer with a document
containing eps. Currently, I either have to disable graphic display or use png.
I think that having a poor rendering of eps in Writer would be 100 times better
then poor vertical scrolling. I can see why some people may disagree with that
though... I'm talking only for my particular situation.

For example, I find the way Scribus is handling eps quite wonderful honestly.
eps are rendered as a low quality preview (quality can be user defined),
allowing you to move things around really smoothly. It is possible to activate
a Preview mode of the document that will improve the rendering of the eps, but
make the document less responsive.

I have a MS Spreadsheet with a file type of XLSX and it is password protected.

The file is handled correctly with "LibreOffice 4.1.5 for Mac OS X (Intel)".

The file is not handled correctly with versions 4.2.2 or 4.2.3. With these 2
versions the file is not challenged for the password and appears to open the
file showing various characters but not the correct contents.

Highlight tabs to right of Mix & Match and right click and choose Delete

They disappear and I save the pruned spreadsheet. ALL scores now seem to be in
red.

Version 4.2.2 has not fixed this!

2014-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75973

Is it a bug or enhancement ? no idea but for sure this doesn't work, first I
thought this was actually a code bug with the buffer transformation work that
was done for increasing module code size capacity ( see PCodeBuffConvertor etc.
)
So.. the bad news is that either by oversight or design actually the case here
is actually as the bug title suggests e.g. that user types are not supported
for password protected Libraries. The missing part is that the user types
(actually the names) need to be somehow stored to the binary image format ( and
of course reconstructed etc. on load )

On a more positive note it shouldn't really be too hard to add support for
this. On thing that is needed is a new version for the binary format of basic
image so that this new feature can be cleanly supported. Luckily we already
have a new version ( that was created for natively saving the new image binary
format (for supporting bigger modules) and we currently don't write the new
image version anywhere ( although all the code to support it is in place ) Why
don't we ? the reason is simple oversight, the new binary image format needed
to be introduced on a office version bump ( which at the the work was done for
that feature was in the future ) probably the whole openoffice/libreoffice
split had something to do with this ( or perhaps it was forgotten about
independantly ) but... in anycase we do have support for a new image version
already in place in the current libreoffice ( and older libreoffice ) versions.
It should be easy to introduce the new image version (with additional support
for user defined types) at the same time. I will look into it and at the very
least try and put some code pointers here (and/or maybe even a patch)

Simple 15kB spreadsheet with dotted borders will produce 577kB PDF

Some ODS or XLS spreadsheets produce hugely bloated files when exporting to
PDF. In my test file there are no embedded files, and only a subset of Times
New Roman and ArialMT fonts. Compression is set to the default 85% JPEG. This
problem appears to be related to cell border formatting.

Current behavior: When Cell borders are set to a dotted line style in the
spreadsheet, the exported PDF file is grossly over-sized; a 15kB ODS test file
grew to to 577kB.

Expected behavior: The exported PDF should not be orders of magnitude larger
than the original spreadsheet file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76219] New: CRASH i#84870: WW8: large objects in russian text may cause loop

2014-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76219

  Priority: high
Bug ID: 76219
  Keywords: regression
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: CRASH i#84870: WW8: large objects in russian text may
cause loop
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
   URL: https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=84870
  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 3.5.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

This file hangs LO on opening.

i#84870 was filed for this problem, and was already fixed for AOO 3.4.1.

Citation from original issue:
> Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2008-02-28 13:59:11 UTC
> investigations reveals the following:
> - it is not a crash, it is a layout loop
> - it is a regression - broken in OOo 2.0
> - the large as-character anchored graphic on page 67 causes the layout loop.

AOO 3.4.1, AOO 4.0.0 and AOO 4.0.1 all open the problematic file just fine.

The fix from AOO was taken and included in LO
(http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=c5a8a2c3cbcee0175127a0662e3d820ea4deea22).
So, it is considered fixed in LO.

It worked in 3.5.2.2 (in 3.5.0.3, 3.5.1.2 the file opened for a moment, but
immediately crashed LO).

But starting with 3.5.3.1, the file hangs LO again (tested with LO 3.5.3.1,
3.5.7.2, 3.6.7.2, 4.0.6.1, 4.1.5.3, 4.2.3.1 under Win7x64, and 4.2.2.1 under
Ubuntu 13.10 x64). So, regression -> priority high.

This fix is considered to cause Bug 47355 (see comments
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47355#c56 by Michael Stahl and
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47355#c65 by Björn Michaelsen).

Filing it here, to reflect its actual unfixed state.

Please disregard my entire comment #5. It appears the original post in the
freedesktop bugzilla has the edited (fixed) testcase attached and not the
original (problematic) testcase. Creating the example formulas in a new
document, exhibits the same issue i.e., diacritics above Greek characters being
cropped, and superscript against Greek characters being misplaced. Similarly,
opening the original Launchpad testcase in v4.1.4.2 and v4.2.0.4 still shows
the problem.

I am attaching the original Launchpad testcase (and obsoleting the original
freedesktop attachment) for clarity.

Screenshot in v4.1.4.2 showing correct (expected) rendering.

This bug now appears to be fixed. Under Debian 7 / Crunchbang 11 (both x86_64)
using:

- v4.1.4.2 Build ID: 0a0440ccc0227ad9829de5f46be37cfb6edcf72
- v4.2.0.4 Build ID: 05dceb5d363845f2cf968344d7adab8dcfb2ba71

... I see the formulas as in the attached (v4.2.0.4 renders the same a
v4.1.4.2). This seems to correct the problem noted in the screenshot in the
Launchpad bug (i.e., cropping and misplacement of the superscripts and
diacritics):

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/778979/+attachment/2118091/+files/Screenshot.png

Can someone please test the originally provided example using a more recent

2014-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

(In reply to comment #16)
> Is the idea in comment #15 so completely weird ?

I see nothing "weired" about having shortcut keys to activate
functions/dialogs. In fact Ctrl+K has always been the standard LO keyboard
shortcut to open the hyperlink dialog. Having a new mini hyperlink dialog, or
"Find" type bar, might be good for the simple "most use" case, but of little
value for the process I outlined in comment #10.

At the risk of boring those following this issue, my only real interest is that
the "Apply" (or any other chosen name) button in the current hyperlink dialog
returns to it's original "apply change and not close" functionality.
Unfortunately, this will not happen in the 4.2.x.x line, but has been
reinstated in the nightly builds for the 4.3 line.

No problem if I convert the file in OpenDocument format and anchor the
flowchart to the frame.
It is a bad idea to work with old and not standard format. Please use them only
as export formats when your work in ODF is finished. As it is known that you
will never have 100% compatibility with old MS format, you can expect to avoid
the risk of such kind of problem. It is the reason of the warning dialog when
you save a file in an non OpenDocument format.

That said this bug report is a duplicate of bug 46017.

I'm not running a debug version of LO, but I do now have an ubuntu crash
report. I'd rather not publish this on a public website due to the nature of
the data in the spreadsheet. However, I am willing to send it by private email
to someone listed as working for LibreOffice if needs be. It isn't small (17
MB zipped).

I have access to a dropbox if that would make it easier/safer. I'm not sure
how easy it would be for someone to decode the contents. Probably much easier
than I imagine, so I'd appreciate some advice.

If a debug version is needed I'll install it and try again.

The file with the issue

I have created a '.doc' file. I created flowcharts in it and grouped them as
one item, saved and closed the file. When I open it again, the flowcharts are
present and rendered properly. Now I create a caption for the flowcharts, save
and close it. On opening again, the flowcharts are completely gone but the
frame of the caption is only present.

The attached file has a sample flowchart on page 8. Try adding a caption to it.
Save and close it. Open it again and the flowchart disappears, leaving the
frame of the caption only.

Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: npla...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

LibreOffice Calc 4.2.2 contains a new command "Collaborate" under the "File"
menu.

When selecting it, a "Fatal error" dialog pops-up with the message
"file:///usr/lib/libreoffice/program/../share/config/soffice.cfg/tubes/ui/contacts.ui"
and the program crashes.

I see that in the folder
/usr/lib/libreoffice/share/config/soffice.cfg
there is no folder "tubes" mentioned in the message.

All this happens on Arch Linux x86_64.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76214] New: UI: segfault in SvTreeListEntry::HasChildrenOnDemand

2014-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76214

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 76214
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: UI: segfault in SvTreeListEntry::HasChildrenOnDemand
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: lo_b...@iseries-guru.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

STR:

(1) Download file BugDB.odb attached to bug 74019
.

(2) Open the file from the command line.

Program presents window BugDB.odb.

(3) In left pane, click .

In lower right pane, program presents two items: BugQuery,
GoodQuery

(4) In lower right pane, right-click BugQuery and in the pop-up menu
click Edit.

Program presents window "BugDB.odb : BugQuery ... Query Design".
Upper pane shows a list of fields in table Exchange. Lower pane
shows grid of fields selected into the query; the eleventh column
of the grid is field 1998, and the twelfth column is empty.

(5) In the lower pane, drag the slider all the way to the right.

The grid shows eight empty columns; this brings to 19 the number
of columns in the grid.

(6) Drag 1998 into the first empty column in the lower pane.

The program moves the filled-in column out of sight to the left
and adds an empty column, the twentieth, at the right.

(7) Drag successive columns from table Exchange, starting with 1999,
to cell Field of successive empty columns in the lower pane.

Program action observed:
After you drop 2007 into the twentieth column, the scroll
bar at the bottom of the lower pane is at the right end of
its area.
Program action expected:
The scrollbar should be displaced from the right end of its
area, so that you can drag it to the right, revealing more
empty columns.

(8) Close the Edit window.

Program prompts "The query has been changed ... save ...?".

(9) Click button.

Segfault. The last warning in the terminal output is (newline
added):

warn:legacy.tools:5251:1:svtools/source/contnr/treelistbox.cxx:3879:
SvTreeListBox::FillAccessibleEntryStateSet: invalid entry

This function is evident in frame 1 of the backtrace.

The preceding STR are written with column numbers and so forth as I
see them in a Query Designer window of a specific size. An experiment
with a smaller window size requires moving the scroll bar more often,
but the end result is the same.

With an embedded HSQLDB, LibreOffice also crashes, but of course the
JRE catches the segfault for its own purposes.

Alas, I cannot test other database engines until I fix my package
manager . I shall leave the status UNCO in the hope that some
hellpful triager will try another backend.

My LibreOffice is master commit 806f4d8, fetched 2014-03-04, configured:
--enable-option-checking=fatal
--enable-dbgutil
--enable-crashdump
--without-system-postgresql
--without-myspell-dicts
--with-extra-buildid
--without-doxygen
--with-external-tar=/home/terry/lo_hacking/git/src
built and running on debian-wheezy 64-bit.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76211] New: Small edit then save corrupts spreadsheet

2014-03-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76211

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 76211
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Small edit then save corrupts spreadsheet
  Severity: blocker
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: rljun...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.1.1 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 95863
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=95863&action=edit
Spreadsheet exhibiting described bug

The attached spreadsheet is a small version of the spreadsheet I use. Open it
in LibreOffice and make some small edit - changing some text field is
sufficient. Save and reopen. The table on the third sheet is corrupted - it
points to nonexistent data on the second sheet. As a result, the table on the
first sheet displays garbage as well.

Confirming this for 4.2.3.1, Ubuntu 13.10 64bit, Unity, installed from deb
packages downloaded from the LO website.

The crash happens for me also in 4.1 series (currently 4.1.3.2 from Ubuntu
repository).
