https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76310 Priority: medium Bug ID: 76310 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: ODF incompliance: Cannot use newline in formula Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: Inherited From OOo Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice OASIS OpenFormula specification allows using SPACE, TAB, LINE FEED and CARRIAGE RETURN as space characters. It also specifies that embedded newline be represented by single LINE FEED, and requires implementations to "retain whitespace entered by the original formula creator and use it when saving or presenting the formula, and should not add additional whitespace unless directed to do so during the process of editing a formula" (see http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part2.html#__RefHeading__1017970_715980110). https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69461 --- Comment #18 from NoWorries --- Thank-you for letting me know the current situation and I now know that you have a truckload of Bugs to fix. >From my perspective, I put Bugs into 2 categories. Those that can be worked around and those that cannot be worked around. I have encountered a number of Bugs that can be worked around. One is that when I inserted a ppt file, Impress would crash! I overcame this by converting the ppt file to an odp format before inserting it. Thankfully this problem no longer exists but I did find a work around! In the case of the flash before the start of a video, I cannot find any work around. Because of this, I therefore consider it a higher priority than those bugs that can be worked around. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76114 --- Comment #2 from irene...@yahoo.co.uk --- Sorry for the delay in replying. I renamed the .xls file as .html as you suggested, and had success opening it in Calc. I also tried several variations, just for your info: 1. Via File Explorer, used command 'Open With... Calc'. This opened the file correctly in Calc, showing the usual 'Import Options' box first. 2. Opened Libre Office Calc, File Open, navigated to the file. Again this opened correctly in Calc, as above. 3. Double-clicked directly on the file in File Explorer. It opened as an HTML page, as expected. 4. Opened Libre Office without choosing a specific application, then File Open, navigated to the file. It opened in Writer/Web. 5. I also went to the banking site, chose the 'Download in Microsoft Excel (xls)' option and then opted to Open the file directly with 'Libre Office Calc (default)' rather than Saving it first. It opened in Writer. Hope this is helpful! Some of these collections are quite useful already and the trend can be assumed to continue. It would be nice to make LibreOffice able to pull data from such sources of data (so that the data can be used in the document that the user creates). The integration in the UI of the data is likely specific to the data and the application. But to enable that, just being able to access data (readonly for a start) from such public git sources would be great. The question is where to implement that. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76322 Priority: medium Bug ID: 76322 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FORMATTING: Section in a header ignores manual column breaks Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: max+freedesk...@mxcrypt.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.1.1 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 96004 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=96004&action=edit Result of steps 1-5. Problem description: A multi-column section inserted in the page header treats column breaks as regular paragraph breaks. Disabling "Evenly distribute contents to all columns" moves all contents to column 1. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new Writer document 2. Insert -> Section... with 3 columns 3. Write "Test1Test2Test3" in the section, where is a column break (Insert -> Manual Break... -> Column break) and is a regular break. Column 1 should be empty, Column 2 should contain "Test1" and Column3 should contain "Test2Test3". 4. Add a page header. 5. Repeat steps 2 & 3 with the section inserted in the header. 6. Now disable "Evenly distribute contents to all columns" for both sections. In the header, all text moves to column 1, while the body section is unaffected. Current behavior: After step 5, "Test1" jumps to the left column, "Test2Test3" jumps to the middle column. After step 6, all header text jumps to the left column. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75522] corruption while copying cells to irfanview
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75522 Burak Ural changed: What|Removed |Added Component|Spreadsheet |Presentation --- Comment #12 from Burak Ural --- Moving my comments from other thread... == I am using Libreoffice 4.3.2.1 I can still confirm that this bug affects copying pictures to the image editor called Irfanview on Windows XP SP3. Upon further investigation it can be said that there is some problem in Libreoffice about copying pictures to Windows clipboard. Please note that Ms Paint can render the copied picture correctly. However there are 4 types of clipboard data in memory when copied from Libreoffice and except one, they are corrupted. Therefore some image programs rendering a corrupted image when pasted. Example; Please check attached picture files. 1- Original picture copied to Ms Paint. (orj.jpg) 2- Original picture copied and Windows Clipboard is being used to display contents, using (view--> Enhanced Metafile) (metafile.jpg) Please notice the difference in the image compared the orj.jpg 3- Original picture copied and Windows Clipboard is being used to display contents, using (view--> Picture) (picture.jpg) Please notice this is a correct display of the image which MS Paint probably using to import. 4- Original picture copied and Windows Clipboard is being used to display contents, using (view--> Bitmap) (bitmap.jpg) Please notice the corruption in the image. A lot of image software could be using the bitmap format for pasting images , and they would get corrupted image from Libreoffice most of the time. 5- There is a clipboard data type Dib Bitmap but it can not be displayed in clipboard viewer so I pass that one. Not every image is being affected as severe as the ones I attached, however this bug has affected every copied image from Libreoffice. The only workaround I have, is to paste the image to MS Paint first. Later cut the image from MS Paint , and paste it to any software I want. It works without any corruption. However it is very annoying to use this workaround instead of pasting directly to an image editor.
