(In reply to comment #3)
We already ship author and licence information in the credits document,
which can be opened from the Help License information menu. The full
version number is already displayed in the About box. And that very same box
 has a “Website” button.

not sure it was 100% clear from the description, but please note this is about
the android impress remote :). (See component field).
/me can't fins this info neither

Kind regards,
Joren

doc with immutable chars (glyphs) put in the 1st line

Font face (possibly, other attributes, too) may get unchangeable (immutable) on
some material imported into document. This may happen, e.g., when inserting
(pasting) text via clipboard from PDF document open in KDE's Okular.

In the proof doc glyphs μ in the 1st line are set in unchangeable font face,
which is at that different from what's set in paragraph style. The μ glyph is
present in the fontface set in paragraph style. Neither 'Clear direct
formatting' nor 'Set default character style' have any effect on the μμμ in the
1st line. The glyph is retaining its immutability when copied and pasted
anywhere in the document.

Hello bargainsgalore622,
would you be so kind to give us a more descriptive instruction, please?
Something like
1. Go to File - New - HML Document
2. Write some text
3. Click on $something at $somethingelse
4. Do something completely different
...
? Or would you be so kind to attach a test document to this bug, please?

I tried it this way:
1. Went to File – New – HTML Document
2. Wrote some text
3. Went to View – Toolbars – Form Controls
4. Clicked on Label Fields (the button with An on it)
5. Clicked somewhere on the page and draw a square
6. Doubleclicked on this label field
7. Entered something for Name, Label, Additional information and Help
text on the tab General
8. Closed this dialog
9. Pressed CRTL+S to the save the document (during the save process I got
an error message
quote
Warning saving the document TestMitHTMLLabel:
Write Error.
Document could not be completely saved.
/quote
, but I was still able to open this file in Firefox 30.0a2 (2014-04-05) and see
my text as well as a small icon with something on it near the text I have
entered ... ;) ).

Did you do anything completely different? I can only confirm, that LO does only
insert
quote
pimg src=data: align=absmiddle/p
/quote
for this label field there.

Tested with LO Version: 4.2.3.3 Build ID:
6c3586f855673fa6a1576797f575b31ac6fa0ba3 (parallel installed, following the
instructions from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel)
with Germanophone lang- as well as helppack under Debian Testing i686.

When I try this with LO Version: 4.1.5.3 Build-ID:
1c1366bba2ba2b554cd2ca4d87c06da81c05d24, I still get this error message, but LO
does not seem to insert this icon in the resulting webpage ... :(

Sorry for the inconvenience
Thomas.

P.S.: Why did you choose Draw as a component? I think, it should be Writer, as
it is Writer/Web, which opens, when you choose File – New – HTML Document ...
;)

This is still a problem with Internet Explorer. Although Firefox is a
workaround, the fact that the template website does not work correctly with IE
will confuse a number of users. Perhaps as a temporary measure, the workaround
is explained on the website.

work my contributions are in question. I try save, even though I did your
format many times before it still acts as if not done before and I have made
the same edits to a text file over and over with no positive result. Totally
dissapointed!

 Background.
I only have 98MB of free space in drive C

kinda short of MB...

 5. The installer says Disk out of space, and the drive C is still
highlighted even though I have selected drive D as the installation
 destination.

my guess is that even if you choose D: as the final install destination, during
the installation process stuff is extracted under some temporary folder under
C: which in your case is short of space.

what do you think about it?

Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: dennisonberw...@gmail.com
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.2.1 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

The new release 4.2.2.1 is COMPLETELY USELESS.

The program constantly crashes bad location while saving so that work has to
be saved every few seconds - about 40% of the saves fail.

When the program is restarted and the file recovered, ALL pasted images from a
different pdf file that have PREVIOUSLY BEEN SAVED have been lost. This does
not always happen, but just as one moves through the work, all the previous
insertions are lost. Even when the image has been locked in position and has
survived being saved multiple times.

This makes Libreoffice completely unreliable and useless. I've tried to use
and support open office products for many, many years but the only question now
is how to get my files OUT of .odt.

All the features in the world mean nothing if the program is unreliable.

These two bugs are completely unrelated. Bug 69158 is about the gtk2 plugin,
when using with the 'oxygen-gtk' gtk2 theme. This bug is about the kde4 plugin,
and it looks much like Bug 69002 (Should we reopen it then?). Fortunately some
work was done in that area in libreoffice-4-2 branch [1], so this problem might
be already solved.

(both with installed Germanophone lang- as well as helppack under Debian

1. Rightclick on the column header from column A and chose Column Width...
and set it to 3,00cm
2. Rightclick on the column header from column B and chose Column Width...
and set it to 5,00cm
3. Selected cell A1 and B1 with Alt+ArrowLeft, but you can mark both
columns, as it would be no difference ... ;)
4. Format – Merge Cells – Merge Cells

I see the columns A and B merged into one cell/column with a width of the sum
of both column width (8cm). And I see, that the column headers A and B are both
as before (3cm and 5cm).

Did you do anything different? Or could you attach an ODS file to this bug, so

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75914] Opening document properties dialog removes line breaks from custom properties

2014-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75914

--- Comment #3 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com ---
This is because texmaths 0.39 has a workaround for the issue.
It substitutes a rarely used char for the line break.

You can test with texmaths 0.38 or writing a macro that programmatically sets a
custom property to a string with a line break.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75922] EDITING: Spelling and Grammar: English - Correct All (Change All) button corrects only a single instance

2014-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75922

Hello Peter, *,
I cannot confirm your first part of this bug with LO Version: 4.1.5.3
Build-ID: 1c1366bba2ba2b554cd2ca4d87c06da81c05d24 nor with Version: 4.2.3.3
Build ID: 6c3586f855673fa6a1576797f575b31ac6fa0ba3 (parallel installed,
following the instructions from
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel), both with
Germanophone help- as well as langpack ... :( All wrongly written words were
corrected, when I press the Correct All button.

What I did:
1. Created a new Writer document
2. Inserted Dies ist eni Test. (should be Dies ist ein Test.)
3. Marked the sentence and CP it a couple of times
4. Set the cursor at the beginning of the document
5. Pressed F7
6. Clicked on Correct All

All wrongly written eni were changed to the correctly written ein ... ;)

To your related bug: In my Germanophone version it is called AutoKorrektur,
and if you press the Help button, you will find a page to its function (though
not directly. You have to click on Menü – Extras – Rechtschreibung and on
the link Dialog Rechtschreibprüfung to get to the text
quote
AutoKorrektur
Überträgt die aktuelle Kombination aus beanstandetem Wort und korrigiertem Wort
in die Ersetzungstabelle der Funktion AutoKorrektur.
/quote

, roughly translated:

quote
AutoCorrect
Transfers the current combination of the questioned word and the corrected word
to the replacement table of the function AutoCorrect.
/quote

). You can test it, if you go to Tools – AutoCorrect Options... and search
for a word, that is missing there. Then write this word in a Writer document,
start the spellchecking dialog and press Always Correct. The word should be
in the AutoCorrect Options then. The only bug there might be, that the
AutoCorrect function is meant and therefor this button is labeled incorrectly
... :(

Please open separate bugs instead of one with several problems/bugs in it in
the future. Otherwise someone else might close them as invalid ... ;) And as
you have found this bug in Apache OpenOffice, you should report it to their
bugzilla ... ;)
Sorry for the inconvenience
Thomas.

If you have a test file, please attach it. Otherwise there's nothing we can do
 to improve your experience.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75947] Grammarchecker ignores wrongly set punctuation marks, apostrophs etc.

2014-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75947

Hello Olivier, *,
sorry for the delay, but did not find the time to answer earlier ... :(

(In reply to comment #2)
Goto Menu Tools Extension manager English spelling… Options
 Capitalization.

It solves your issue in English.

This may solve my problem in English, but not in German ... :(

In LO, grammar checking is only active for few languages by default :
 English, Hungarian and Portuguese (Brazil).

Why? Is the Germananophone community not large/important enough?

As LO devs don’t work on spell checking and grammar checking, I assume this
issue should be closed. Spell checking and grammar checking are delegated to
external teams who work specifically on these subjects.

I do not think so. This worked in the past but for whatever reason, it does not
work any longer ... :(

In German, I don’t know if someone has created a grammar checker able to
 detect these missing capitalized letters.
The extension LanguageTool may solve this problem. You should try it. I
don’t know if there is another one.

I have used LanguageTool in the past, which lead to some other problems –
especially, when you were running through MozTrap and something happens
differently than descripted in the test run ... ;)

For the French language, I should create such a rule in our GC soon.

Sophie and the French community would be pleased to hear it ... ;)
Thanks for your answer
Thomas.

Here's what I did:

1. Open LibreOffice Draw
2. Select: File -- New -- HTML Document
(It opens a new window of LibreOffice Writer/Web to edit the HTML
document)
3. In the LibreOffice Writer/Web window, click: View -- Toolbars --
Form Controls.(a popup toolbox appears).
4. In the Form Controls box, click the ABC icon for Label Field.
5. Draw a box on the page.
6. Double click the box to open Properties: Label Field.
7. In the Name section, I entered the text Test
8. In the Label section, I entered the text This is a test.
9. In the Font section, I selected: Ariel, bold, 32. (Click OK).
10. In the Anchor section, I select To Page.
(I left everything else as default then closed the Properties box).
11. Drag the Label Field box to the center of the page. ( * See
screenshot1.png).
12. Click: File -- Save As... Then enter the file name as test.html
13. Click All Formats and select HTML Document (.html).
14. Click Save.(I saved the file to /home/user1/Documents/test.html).
15. I receive an error message: Warning saving the document test: Write
Error. Document could not be completely saved. Click OK.
16. I use pcmanfm (file manager) to navigate to /home/user1/Documents and
double click on my html file test.html.
17. Firefox browser opens but no text is displayed on the webpage (ie The
Label Field text is missing). ** See screenshot2.png
I'm using Firefox 28.0 Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0)
18. I open the same html file test.html using chromium browser with the same
problem of missing text for the Label Field.
(using Chromium Version 33.0.1750.152 Ubuntu 13.10 (256984)).

PS: Thomas: Yes, LibreOffice Draw opens up a LibreOffice Writer/Web window
for the HTML Document. (not Draw).
I also followed your example and had the same problem I listed above.
(no text showing in the Label Field box when viewed in the browser).

   Screenshot attachments:

   *   screenshot1.png  (shows LibreOffice Writer/Web designing a HTML
Document with text in a Label Field box.
** screenshot2.png (shows the same HTML Document viewed in firefox
browser missing the Label Field text.).

Hope that helps, Andrew.

--- Comment #2 from Mike Fitzgerald m...@picomail.co.uk ---
Hi Sophie
I'll be as accurate as I can. The document was written, not by me, in MS Word
and emailed to me. I edited it on an PC running Windows and the latest version
of LibreOffice. When I say Save I mean save as a MS Word .doc, unless
specified otherwise.
I don't remember the exact order of things, but it was, more or less - I opened
the document and added the text which was the answers to the questions. The
Dprop and Dtrans was formatted as subscript using the Automatic setting. In
fact I've just tried it a new document and it doesn't format it as expected but
does when Automatic is deselected. One of the things I tried was
Copying/Pasting from the already formatted text in the questions. The results
were very unpredictable and it took a couple of hours to achieve a
satisfactory, printable result. I printed and saved the document and emailed it
back. Later I noticed a couple of typos and opened it up again. This was when
the formatting was all over the place. I contacted my work colleague to see if
his version was the same as mine - it was. I spent a while reformatting but
gave up and contacted you. A little later I had another go. Firstly I
unformatted everything then saved it as an .odt document. Then reformatted the
sub/superscripts and saved it again (as both .odt and .doc files) This seems to
have resolved it.

Hope this helps

PS Could you ask the development team to put a Values/Formulae
CheckBox/toggle button/in either the menu or on the formula bar in Calc,
instead of/as well as hiding it away in Tools/Options/Calc/View?

Mike

Julien, LibreOffice depends on what VC++ versions?
Sorry for the delay.
Quoting this link
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnWindows :
Compatible Visual Studio versions are 2010 and 2012. (For older branches also
2008 is supported.) Configure will try to use the most recent one. if you don't
want, use --with-visual-studio= to force the version.

If you use an Express version, you will need additional setup. The simple path
is to add --disable-atl and --disable-activex. If you need the related
features, see Getting ATL work with VS Express

Makrea: I'm not an expert but I think it depends on if the libs are built
statically (so included in the soft) or dynamically (not included in the soft
and so the dlls must be present on the system).

You may find requirements of the different platforms here:
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/system-requirements/

Also, since there's no LO 64 for Windows for the moment, only Java 32 bits can
be used.

Horst:
- did you install any LO specific extensions?
- for the test, could you rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Windows) and give it a new try?

First, please don't answer directly from your emailer but from this link:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77103#

Then, for attaching files with size 3MB, you may follow this link:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla-Attachments

Now, to investigate, we need more information:
- Did you install any LO specific extensions?
- Did you install any specific fonts?
- What's your precise Java version? (1.6? 1.7? other?), 32 or 64 bits?
- About how many images do you have in your doc?

For the test, could you rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Windows) and give it a new try?

For the rest, if a file (of any type) is really important for your, you must
think about making some backups of it.
To extract information from your odt, you can rename its extension into zip and
extract the files.

  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: wbmo...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.1.1 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

In inserting page numbers (in the format Page XX of YY) in the footnote, the
first page number is zero instead of one. So for my particular document of
seven pages, the first page read Page 0 of 7 and the last page read Page 6 of
7. I've used this format of numbering my pages many times in the past, without
these results.

I checked to see whether there were settings that I could change to have the
first page revert to 1, but didn't find anything. If this bug is not fixed, I
will not be able to number the pages on any document. So I labeled the bug as
major.

Build ID: 6c3586f855673fa6a1576797f575b31ac6fa0ba3

Same occurs in Calc and Draw (not Writer, because Formula has no Are menu
entry).

Same occurs with chart:
1. Create a new presentation
2. Insert Chart
3. Click outside to close default chart
4. Right click on chart Area, Fill = color
5. Save file
6. Reload
= Area is set to none

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77112] New: EDITING: Find box loses focus on end of document

2014-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77112

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 77112
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Find box loses focus on end of document
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: pter...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.2.1 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: When searching though a document using Ctrl+F tool the
find box will lose selection after reaching the end of the document. The focus
will move to the selection of document text and pressing Enter will delete it.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open find box Ctrl+F and search for a text string.
2. Reach the last iteration of a string. And get the message: Do you want to
continue at the beginning? LibreOffice Writer has searched to the end of the
document.
3. Choose Yes or Enter.
4. Click Enter once again.

Current behavior: The text selection is not in the find box but in the text.
And the text will be deleted.

Expected behavior: The focus should still be in the find box and pressing Enter
should keep iterating through the occurrences of the searched string in the
text.

Operating System: Debian

This is also above my capability ... :( As I have only installed LO 4.1.5.3
and 4.2.3.3, I am not sure, where I had it working in the past (without
LanguageTool, that is) and have not the disk space on my netbook to bisect
 it ... :(

Here is a mirror for portable LO :
http://ftp.igh.cnrs.fr/pub/tdf/libreoffice/portable/

You should try with LO 3.6 and 3.3.

(That’s a French mirror, but software is still international. Other mirrors I
found don’t seem to keep old versions.)

Having a large presentation due recently, I struggled with this issue on my
Fedora Linux 19's LibreOffice 4.1.5.3. Just opening up the presentation,
making a small change to some text, saving it and closing it will often result
in lost images the next time it is opened.

I have also opened Fedora bug 1084822.

Julien,,
thanks for youe message.

Here is a shortened version - to get it under 3MB. It includes all the pages
(16-54) where pasted items that have been saved disappear when the document is
reopened or where the program crashes during saving. There should be a copy
and paste from a pdf on each blank page - they always copy and paste, but would
then sometimes crash during saving, and sometimes have vanished when the
document was reopened.

no extensions added

no specific fonts installed
Java Version 7, Update 51 (build 1.7.0_51-b13)

images - a lot - probably more than 50.

thanks for your help.

For 4.2.2, just download LO from

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77115] New: In Style Formatting dialog, the layout of controls in the Options tab is confusing

2014-04-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77115

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 77115

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: In Style Formatting dialog, the layout of controls
in the Options tab is confusing
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: narayana...@outlook.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.2 rc
 Component: ux-advise
   Product: LibreOffice

This bug is essentially a continuation of Bug#76937.

The Options tab also has similar (but lesser) issues:

(a) The level list and the controls look like two columns of the same table.
So the following controls appear to be related on one-to-one basis:
1 - Number, 3/4 - character style, 5/6 - show sublevels, etc.

(b) The Start at control is tightly related to the Number control, yet
placed at the end.

(c) The Start at control conflicts with Consecutive numbering, yet both
controls are allowed to be active at the same time.

DESIRED:

1. Separate the Level list and Controls sections by drawing rectangular
outline around both, and moving them apart.

2. Move the Start at control just below the Number control.

3. Allow either Start at control or the Consecutive numbering to be active
at one time (both cannot be active together)

   Summary: UI: Input line empty
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: eggspe...@gmx.net
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.2.1 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

When having a multi-line cell (CTRL+Enter) and the first line is empty, the
input line does not show anything when activating such a cell, despite having
text inside it.

Proposal: Ignore all empty lines while evaluating what to show in the input
line.

How I stumbled upon it. Vertically aligned text over many cells and nothing
readable in the input line.

Maybe it is not even a bug, but I imagine that this is not what users expect.
It surely makes sense the way it is now, but at least I was surprised.

Thanks a lot for a great piece of software anyway,
Frank
