If i use Format transfer tool

and use a cell as source -which earlier was combined / joined of two in row
following cells-

the target cell gets the format (i didnt proof everything: numbers /bold etc.)

BUT the target cell THEN JOINS automaticly with the -in row- following cell.

This might be too much of transfer ?!

... isnt it to differ cell format from sheet-layout ...

Summary: Background spreadsheet scrolling results in screen
corruption - Regression from LO 4.1.5
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: c...@intergate.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

On OSx 10.9.2 and with two LO 4.2.3 windows open and one of those windows a
spreadsheet with more rows than will fit in the window, with the spreadsheet
NOT the active window, when scrolling the spreadsheet one of the rows just out
of sight is duplicated and unlimited number of times. Strange thing is that the
row number column is not duplicated, i.e. appears normal and counts up/down as
appropriate, but the row contents to the right is duplicated for as long as it
is scrolled. If the window is made active the corruption goes away. This does
not happen if a Writer document is the background window.

If this seems confusing, at least on OSx, a window in the background will
scroll if the mouse pointer is hovered over the window and scrolled. The window
is not made active in this process. This problem does NOT happen with LO 4.1.5.

So the shrinking of data ranges is hurting us here. I was never a big fan of
this feature but it seems that we finally need a proper solution for the
problem.

The problem is that the content is not yet imported and we are already
importing the chart so shrinking to the used data range is wrong.

I'll limit the feature for now to cases where it won't hurt us too much and
will think about proper solutions.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: hsones...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: filters and storage
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 97485
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=97485&action=edit
Spreadsheet with custom footer

When opening an .XLS spreadsheet containing customized text in header or footer
in Calc, six zeros are added before each portion of text.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create spreadsheet in Excel (I'm using Excel for Mac 2011).
2. Add a header or footer with custom text (the problem doesn't occur when
using the predefined headers and footers)
3. Save file as XLS (the problem doesn' occur when saving as XLSX)
4. Open file in Calc
5. Go to Format->Page->Header (or Footer)-> Edit
6. Observe the six zeros before the text

Other observations:
-When you've opened the file with Calc and save it, the zeros also appear when
opening the document in Excel.

-If you delete the zeros, after having opened the file in Calc and then save
it, the zeros doesn't appear when opening in Excel.

I've only tested with Excel for Mac 2011 (14.0.0).
The problem occurs in both 4.2.3 and current master (4.3.0.0.alpha0).
I'm running OS X 10.9.1

I've attached a freshly produced spreadsheet, created in Excel for Mac 2011,
with a predefined header and a custom footer. When opened in Excel the text in
the footer is "Left" in the left section, "Middle" in the middle section, and
"Right" in the right section.

  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)

  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

When you select a word using a gesture, OSX integrated dictionary opens, but
the dictionary find a first word in a text line. For example, In "This is an
error." if I select 'error', then the dictionary will open for 'This'.

I observed this problem happened with Writer and Spreadsheet and did not test
other applications in Libreoffice, but I expect the same problem may happen in
the others.

Note:
I think this problem may not be a bug but may be just an unimplemented feature
in Libreoffice applications. When a word selected and right click to open the
context sensitive menu, "look up (dictionary)" feature is not there.

I think it will improves the usability of Libreoffice if OSX integrated
dictionary can be used in Libreoffice applications. So, if this is not bug, it
should go to new feature request.

The only extension I have installed is the mysql-connector. And I only install
software from repos.

I renamed my user folder and restarted, same results.

I do have another issue, probably not related but, libreoffice among other apps
do not recognize that the default printer has been changed. KDE and Cups both
register it as one printer but when I go to print the old default printer is
selected. Not sure it has any bearing but who knows.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77509] CRASH when Consolidate

2014-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77509

Looking at Valgrind trace, I noticed this part void lcl_AddString(rtl::OUString*&, unsigned long&, rtl::OUString const&) (consoli.cxx:80)
which appears several times.
 72 template< typename T >
 73 static void lcl_AddString( OUString*& pData, T& nCount, const OUString&
rInsert )
 74 {
 75 OUString* pOldData = pData;
 76 pData = new OUString[ nCount+1 ];
 77 if (pOldData)
 78 {
 79 memcpy( pData, pOldData, nCount * sizeof(OUString) );
 80 delete[] pOldData;
 81 }
 82 pData[nCount] = rInsert;
 83 ++nCount;
 84 }
(see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/core/tool/consoli.cxx#72)

I noticed this other lcl_AddString here:
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/svtools/source/config/extcolorcfg.cxx#238
Of course, this one doesn't use template but anyway, the first method is called
at 3 places with the same type (SCSIZE), see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/search?q=lcl_AddString&project=core&defs=&refs=&path=&hist=

Should the first one removed so the second one only would be used?

Hi Greg, please visit http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/
and notice the hint that OS X 10.8 is required.

You do have a rather old OSX. So you might need a different build, which is
still compatible with OSX 10.6

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77439] Changes for #77300 & #75741 result in very slow changes to range names

2014-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77439

--- Comment #6 from t...@tim-passingham.co.uk ---
Three things that the problem doesn't appear to be related to:

1) I turned off auto-recalculate. It's still very slow (I had hopes of this,
but to no avail)
2) I deleted all other range names (causing many cell errors). It's still very
slow.
3) I deleted around 30 sheets containing graphs of data from other sheets.
It's very slightly quicker (maybe 2 minutes instead of 2 minutes and several
tens of seconds).

In all cases one cpu was 100% busy the whole time.

So as far as I can tell so far the problem is related to the total number of
cells and sheets with data in them.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77537] New: FILESAVE: Character formatting is not preserved when file is saved, closed, and re-opened.

2014-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77537

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 77537
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Character formatting is not preserved when
file is saved, closed, and re-opened.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: other
  Reporter: jim.wilson.pub...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.2.1 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: When a cell contains text with a character format applied
to only a portion of the text, that formatting is not preserved when the file
is saved, closed, and re-opened.

Minimal steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Open a new Calc document.
2. Enter two characters of text into a cell.
3. Edit the cell contents as follows:
3a. Select one of the two characters of the text in the cell.
3b. From the menu, choose Format > Character, change the Font Family of the
selected character to something different, and click [OK].
4. Observe that the two characters are rendered in the correct, different
fonts.
5. Save the file and close it.
6. Open the file in Calc.
7. Observe that both characters now have the same font.

Current behavior:
If some of the characters in a cell are formatted differently from other
characters in the same, that formatting is not preserved when the file is
saved, closed, and re-opened.

Expected behavior:
When a spreadsheet file is opened, the character formatting of the cell
contents should match what was present when the file was last saved.

So my master builds from the day before yesterday (14/04), whether built with

supported video file into an Impress slide via (Insert - Image/Video) - I
always get the error "unsupported format". This is the case too with the test

Update :

In my 64 bit OSX master builds (4.3 alpha), I can no longer insert any video
file into Impress (Insert - Image/Video) - all of the formats I have tried so
far give me the message that they are unsupported, including those that play
fine in Quicktime.

It makes no difference whether I build with --enable-vlc or not.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77439] Changes for #77300 & #75741 result in very slow changes to range names

2014-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77439

--- Comment #5 from t...@tim-passingham.co.uk ---
As I reduce the number of charts and sheets, mostly unrelated to the range name
I am changing, the time taken to make the change reduces.

Before this fix, and in earlier versions of Calc which didn't have the fault
that has now been fixed, there was no significant delay when changing the range
of a range name.

I'm sorry I can't (yet) provide a demo, due to the very private nature of the
data in my real sheets. I have been trying, but without success so far.

It ought to be possible to look at the change that has been made and get some
sort of idea about why it might take a really noticeably long time with a
complex set of sheets with many inter-relationships between the cells and with
many range names.

Sorry chap, the file is now ok as per my second post. It seems that opening and
saving it with Excel 2013 fixed the problem. If it happens again I will take a
copy of the file and post it.

Example with macro loop.

I add a new example loop that don't work in Libreoffice calc.

The code contain a loop:

Range("c2").Select
While ActiveCell <> ""
If parent = ActiveCell.Value Then
check = check + 1
End If
ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
Wend

but the Libreoffice don't in into the while and check is always 0.

A couple of ideas, none of them very easy, I fear:

(1) Use another program, perhaps Excel, to strip the confidential
information from your file.

(2) If the present bug happens to be a regression, and if you have
enough bandwidth and disk storage, an older version of LibreOffice
available through "How to Bibisect"
 may let you
open the file so that you can remove confidential information. As
a happy byproduct, the process will identify approximately when
the bug entered LibreOffice. I do not use Mac, so you will need
to find help elsewhere if you have problems.

(3) Install valgrind, run LibreOffice with command-line option
--valgrind and make the crash, and attach a typescript of the
terminal output.

Good morning!
Use LibreOffice to write my documents in linux Elementary.
I updated the version of libreoffice on my PC to version 4.2.3.3.
But after this, I can not see the screen or in print, any table inserted.
However, when opening a document translated. Any write doc, I can view the
table in other text editors (Kingsoft Write and MS word).
But in LibreOffice Writer, this version does not.

hugs,
Rafael

Summary: FILESAVE: saving a new file
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: thejun...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.5.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: When trying to save a new spreadsheet Libreoffice crashes

Steps to reproduce:
1. open new spreadsheet
2. add data, or not
3. save or save-as
4. crash

Current behavior: this only happens after the first time you save a new file.
An existing file is not affected. I first noticed this one maybe 2-3 versions
ago (versions from Debian Jessie (testing)) when copying groups of cells out of
an existing spreadsheet to a new one then trying to save it, which resulted in
a crash. If the new file was saved first the crash did not happen. But now I
can only save the new file once after a computer restart. Trying to save a
second new file results in crash.

The system is Debian64 Jessie (testing) patched weekly, with KDE. Libreoffice
reports that it is
Version: 4.1.5.3
Build ID: 410m0(Build:3)
and was installed out of the Debian Repos.

Expected behavior:
To be able to save a new file.

Operating System: Debian
Version: 4.1.5.3 release
