retested again under Win7x64 using LibO 4.2.4.2

I think I found where is your problem...

go in "Tools/Autocorrect options/Options"

put the flag on "T" in the "capitalize first letter of every sentence" option

if you have that option flagged it works.
if that option is not flagged I experience your issue.

so I'm closing since it was not a bug but a matter of autocorrect option
settings.

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1.  Tools ==> AutoCorrect Options
2. scroll down to the listings (explained below)

Current behavior: There are two incorrect entries. 1. docuement corrects to
documents 2. faetures corrects to feature.

Expected behavior: Both those autocorrections are wrong. They should be as
follows: 1. docuement corrects to document (not plural) 2. faetures corrects
to features. (it is plural)

Other way to reproduce problem: In a document, simply type "docuement" and
"faetures." You will see that they autocorrect to the wrong thing.

Screen Capture - SAVEAS with 3 Icons in Upper Right

After Launching Writer from the Taskbar in Windows 7, with a user profile,
attempt to do a 'SaveAs' and create a 'NEW FOLDER', prior to doing a SaveAs,
when clicking the 'NewFolder' Icon, the 'SaveAs' window exits, but no 'New
Folder' window opens up.

Expectation is to function as it has in the past, where a user could create a
new subfolder in any writable directory, then perform the save to the new
folder.

Clicking the 3rd Icon to the Upper Right Causes the 'SaveAs' screen to exit,
without a NewFolder Dialogue being launched. (Does Not happen on 4.2.4.2 for
Windows x64 on WOW using IA64 CPU)

The issue for past-special skipping empty cells has been solved by Kohei in
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77735,
verified it works in:
Version: 4.2.5.0.0+ Build ID: d758875cd0ea87f8c7bbe1bbb78e49d06254cbee
  TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:libreoffice-4-2, Time: 2014-05-17_04:23:54
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/libreoffice-4-2/

With Paste-Special [Ctrl+Shif+V], only is needed select the option "skip empty
cells" the first time using P-S in the session, the next time you call P-S the
last selected options remain, so [Ctrl+Shif+V]+[Enter] can do the job. Also
it's possible add a button for P-S in a Tool-bar
(Menu/Options/Customize/Toolbars) so only with a couple of clicks or
click+[Enter] can do the job.

Hi Steve, thanks for reporting.

Reproducible:
Win7x64Ultimate
Version: 4.2.4.2 Build ID: 63150712c6d317d27ce2db16eb94c2f3d7b699f8

I think more recent option for statistics needs a new short-cut.

Hola Jorge, thanks for reporting.

I think it is not a bug only the column it's not wide enough to show the
result.

Give more width to the column, if this no solves the issue please attach a
sample file, only with the image it's no possible see the issue.

Sample file to test

Currently is not possible search in functions using regular expression in a
case sensitive mode, the finder has their own option for it.

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/33989/case-sensitivity-using-calc-countif-function/

e.g. =COUNTIF(B$1:B$4;"x") find all 'x' in the range no matter their case.

In the icu regular expression operators
(http://userguide.icu-project.org/strings/regexp) there is:

(?ismwx-ismwx: ... ) Flag settings. Evaluate the parenthesized expression with
the specified flags enabled or -disabled.
(?ismwx-ismwx) Flag settings. Change the flag settings. Changes apply to
the portion of the pattern following the setting. For example, (?i) changes to
a case insensitive match.

But those seem don't work. I guess they aren't implemented.

'i' is the flag for the case insensitive mode:

=COUNTIF(B$1:B$4;"(?-i)x")

(?-i) should deactivate case-insensitive mode, so the formula should find only
lower case 'x', but it is not the result.

The result should be a number, but instead the program shows those pesky #
symbols

Problem description: Everytime I try to execute the formula ¨PAGO¨ (I don´t
know it´s name in english), the program doesn´t show the number as a result,
instead it shows those ## symbols.
Currently, I know that copying and pasting the number solves the problem, but
it´s still quite annoying. I have tested a few more formulas, so I can´t say
much about the others.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Click the functions icon
2. Search for function ¨PAGO¨ (Again, sorry)
3. Type some random numbers and execute

Current behavior: The program shows ### symbols

Expected behavior: The program should give a number as a result

Setting status NEW in view of backtrace.

Master commit 49dff05, fetched 2014-05-12 14:59 UTC, crashes the same
way. This is before commit 48eccfb, which is what brought me here in
the first place.

4.2.4.2 does not crash for these actions, but it being a product build
can well account for the difference. Thus, I am *not* setting keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78499] EDITING: Spell check

2014-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78499

I have found it really does not do any good to record a bug about either OO or
LO, especially this particular bug. I have logged this bug about a year and a
half ago. I had the bug on a Windows 7 machine on a totally different laptop
than the one I am having it on now. Yet after a year and a half never has
anyone from the OO team either contacted me to say they are working on it and
the bug still continues. I have seen that there a plenty others who are having
this problem yet they still have not addressed it after all this time.

I filed this bug simply because it is still there and I had never been
contacted by the OO team to say they even saw my filing.

If this is the type of response the OPEN SOURCE developers have then how in the
world can they rave about how great Open source is? I know out of every bug I
have found in a paid piece of software that I have found, even ones that just
might be a bother without it affecting the overall operation the paid software
people would find and fix the bug is short order. I know this to be the case
because I was part of bug fixing teams with, Borland International, Starfish
Software / Motorola, and finally MetaWare Inc. Though I am not a coder, I was
one of the ones who were responsible to make sure all bugs were fixed in short
order. Yes there were bugs that would take long periods of time to fix but it
never involved the actually functionality of the software. I hate to tell you
this but not having a working spell checker is a show stopper for using the
software. I guess I will have to do the Evil thing in Open Source  and forget
about OO or LO and go ahead and
buy MS Office. Bummer, I was hopping Open Source would be a viable option to
expensive programs. I guess that was just a pipe dream.

Recent versions do not show this bug anymore. They don't crash anymore even if
there is still some difference with preceding versions: when usig a custom
font, Writer shows all text in italic, but when I change the style it accepts
the roman/normal style (and shows the font name in italic).

When exporting as PDF, it complaints that the font is missing and that it will
not include it, but when analysing the PDF file, the font is there.

Maybe this form is malformed, that's all.

I can confirm no crash is reproducible in LibreOffice Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha1+

I still can reproduce a crash in 4.2.4.

Lets mark this bug as RESOLVED WORKSFORME as of the fact we do have to little
manpower to hunt down the fix, to get it backported in 4.2 branch as well. Time
will fix it ;-).

I tried to remove this version and install 4.6.1, which I have gathered is a
stable version. It did the same thing, although it worked without a problem on
the previous version of my system. I tried changing the openjdk version from 7

The problem proved to be incompatibility between KDE's klipper and Libre.

With clipper running, the paste does nothing, without complaint.

hi Thomas.
I confirm the bug under Win7x64 in 4.2.4.2 and 4.3.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: a1dd961c3093f5f7624e4d1f2240e9120fd13f23

after testing with previous releases I can tell the correct typing is "Position
X" and "Position Y" like it was in LibO 4.1.5.3 and it is in AOO 4.1

"Position X:" and "Position Y:" in first tab started appearing from 4.2.0.4

did you find other similar issues in other places of the UI?

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see any requests for more info.
Another user confirmed the bug (although he says he failed to do so, and then
says the entry is not recognized as a date).

I am happy to supply more info but I don't know what more I can say.

To reiterate:
1. OS Ubuntu
2. LO vs 4.2.4.2
3. Set date acceptance pattern to DD/MM/YY
4. Set date format to DD/MM/YY
5. Enter 17/5
6. In LO vs 3.6.6.2 and earlier this would result in a cell entry of 17/05/14
 (recognized as a date).
7. Since vs 3.6.6.2 the result is a text entry of 17/5

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77776] regression: "could not start printer" when printing to remote cups server

2014-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6

The 4.2.4.2 (RC?) update/upgrade from the launchpad.net/libreoffice (testing?)
PPA did not fix the inability to print on my Ubuntu 14.04 LTS system.

The HP C4210 printer still prints perfectly from the LibreOffice suite on the
Windows 8.1 computer (that the printer is physically connected to) as it does
from every other program on either system.

The LibreOffice suite on the Ubuntu system does not bring up an authentication
pop-up dialogue after you have clicked on the "Print" icon (as do all of the
other applications on the Ubuntu system). Obviously, the Windows host computer
requires no such authentication dialogue in order to enable printing.

Of far greater concern to me, after the installation of this PPA, I am now
getting a triangular warning notification in the Panel that when clicked upon
readsas follows.

"The update information is outdated. This may be caused by network problems or
by a repository that is no longer available. Please update manually by
selecting 'Show updates' from the indicator menu, and watching for any failing
repositories.

I can confirm all of the behavior described in the above comments occur using
LibreOffice 4.3 alpha.

I also agree that simply adding another check box for the slides themselves
(probably checked by default??) and then just exporting/printing the elements
checked (i.e. slides, notes, etc.) would be fine.

Problem description: LibreOffice sometimes crashes when trying to operate it:
creating a new document, accessing the settings or the "about" section, etc.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice
2. Try to create a new document or go to Help>About LibreOffice
3. Sometimes it will work, and sometimes it will crash

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58282] FORMATTING: AutoCorrecting spelling and capitalizing of a word at the same time doesn't work

2014-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58282

Not fixed here. Re imaged hard drive before installing, so no traces of any
of old versions interefered. Now installed Version: 4.2.4.2 (Build ID:
63150712c6d317d27ce2db16eb94c2f3d7b699f). Here are results:

I auto-corrected the word [isnt] in lower case (within a sentence) to be
[isn’t]. I also auto-corrected it at the beginning of a sentence, so [Isnt]
becomes [Isn’t]. Now to type something:

There isn’t any way that by now there should be such an easily fixed bug
within the program, but there still is. isn’t it a shame that it is still
not working right, since I just started this sentence by typing [isnt] and
it auto-corrected by adding the apostrophe but didn’t capitalize the word.
isn’t it ever going to be fixed?

I'll try another, that I set up in advance, using the word [didn’t]. I
left out all the apostrophes as I type and see what happens:

I didn’t do my homework last night. I didn’t know it was due today, did
you? didn’t you do yours, either? We didn’t have time because we went to
the ball game. didn’t we at least have a good time? isn’t it a shame we are
going to be in trouble? didn’t this happen once before when we didn’t do
our work?

Again, not getting auto-corrected spelling AND capitalization.

I typed the same paragraph in Word, and all was fixed as I went along:

I didn’t do my homework last night. I didn’t know it was due today, did
you? Didn’t you do yours either? We didn’t have time because we went to the
ball game. Didn’t we at least have a good time? Isn’t it a shame we are
going to be in trouble? Didn’t this happen once before when we didn’t do
our work?

Some elements in save, open, and export windows are also not translated. I
described in Bug 78834.

I could reproduce it on many machines with Mac OS X 10.9 or 10.6 and with a
clean installation of LibreOffice. Therefore I can confirm this bug.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78835] New: segfault during initaial save of .odb with embedded Firebird

2014-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78835

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 78835
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: segfault during initaial save of .odb with embedded
Firebird
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: lo_b...@iseries-guru.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

STR

(0) Ensure that you have enabled experimental features. ( Tools >
Options > LibreOfficeDev > Advanced > "Optional (unstable)
options" > "Enable experimental features". If that was not
already selected, restart LibreOffice. )

(1) From Welcome Center, click "Base Database". Program presents
"Database Wizard" step 1 "Select Database".

(2) Observe that radio button "Create a new database" is selected.

(3) In dropdown list "Embedded Database" select "Firebird Embedded",
and click . Program presents "Database Wizard" step 2 "Save
and Proceed".

(5) Observe that "Open the database for editing" is selected and
"Create tables using the table wizard" is not selected.

(6) Select "No, do not register the database" and click .
Program presents dialog Save.

(7) Enter the pathname less ".odb" of a not-existing file. Program
segfaults, leaving the named file with a size of 1751 bytes.

This observation is from commit 48eccfb, fetched 2014-05-15 00:50 UTC,
configured:
--enable-option-checking=fatal
--enable-dbgutil
--enable-crashdump
--without-system-postgresql
--without-myspell-dicts
--with-extra-buildid
--without-doxygen
--with-external-tar=/home/terry/lo_hacking/git/src
built and running on debian-wheezy 64-bit.

Note well, for comparison, that I do not see the problem in commit
49dff05, fetched 2014-05-12 14:59 UTC.

This bug is less important than bug 78813 "Java core dump, segfault,
when creating table", because this one happens with an experimental
feature. However, a fix to this on may help that other by localizing
it to HSQLDB or by enabling a backtrace not mangled by the JRE. So, I
am setting this bug to block the other, but do not take it too
seriously.

Save window in German localization

Problem description: Since version 4.2 of LibreOffice some elements of the
save, open or export window are not translated into the chosen location. I have
checked it only on Mac OS X 10.9 and 10.6 and only with the German, French,
Japanese and Polish localization. Other localization may also be affected. I
have not looked into other systems, so Windows and Linux may or may not be
affected.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice with an installed location different than English
2. Save a document
3. Check if e.g. the Save-button is translated

Current behavior: Some UI elements are in English language instead of the
language of the localization.

Expected behavior: All UI elements should be translated

Following Alex's instructions and creating an embedded HSQLDB, I have created a
segfault in the same routine. However, my terminal output, after the URL for
bug reports, ends with
[error occurred during error reporting , id 0xb]
and it has been just sitting there for several minutes.

My LibreOffice is master commit 48ecccfb, pulled 2014-05-15 00:50 UTC,
configured as:
--enable-option-checking=fatal
--enable-dbgutil
--enable-crashdump
--without-system-postgresql

--with-extra-buildid
--without-doxygen
--with-external-tar=/home/terry/lo_hacking/git/src
build and running on debian-wheezy 64-bit.

Note well that I did *not* have this problem with master commit 49dff05,
fetched 2014-05-12 14:59 UTC.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78705] EDITING: Option to merge data when copy/pasting

2014-05-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78705

--- Comment #4 from peter.morph...@googlemail.com ---
Hi, thanks at first for taking care of this and trying to find a solution.

@Joel: Thanks for that hint. Actually I cannot merge the data with paste
special and merge data. In my version, the data is not pasted at all ("2" in B2
is not pasted although I use paste special, skip empty cells and confirm "yes"
in the overwrite dialog)

In general, my point is not about this "merging" data like it was described by
Joel. This can help but in my use case not really helpful (you still need to
click multiple times) and I would rather stick to copy/pasting normally then
seeing if paste special can make it (my personal feeling).

I think I need to get a bit more familiar with the pase special feature, maybe
it helps more than I can foresee now, but I would love to see a feature that
would make this extra detour unnecessary.
