[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78826] UI: inconsistent fields labeling. "Text:" or "Text"?

2014-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78826

--- Comment #8 from Stefan Knorr (astron) ---
Caolan, why not do the mass addition now, especially as Julien appears to be
volunteering? Afaik, string freeze is still a bit out.

Also, defining what labels are "high-profile" is an unsolvable issue without
user data.

Hi Joel Madero,

Just adding some more information, This is as MS Office 2007 version file. If
we open it on MS Office 2010 version and save without removing anything and
open it again on LO latest master, file work properly. I am trying to optimize
this file by removing pages on MS Office 2007 version. After removing aroung 10
pages file started saving properly.
Trying to find out specific data which is causing hang/crash.

Regards.

I think bug 78902 may be a duplicate of this one but two different files. Both
are complex. That user says if you modify his document at all (even just
deleting a character) you can save. Therefore, I'm afraid that getting a
simpler document may be difficult. Adding bug 78902 in see also because I'm

In the future please do not add bugs to most annoying bug list without knowing
what belongs on there - I am removing it from the list.

Note that other bugs on MAB list are mostly crashers, hangers, or if not, are
bugs that are going to affect a large portion of our users. This bug has 4
total comments over almost 2 year period - it's really not affecting many
users.

Please do not add it back to the list - it won't make it get fixed faster,
it'll just make the MAB list less useful because bugs that don't belong on
there will be sitting on the list.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65675] LibreOffice 4.2 most annoying bugs

added bug 78883 - regression, bibisected

Pretty simple document is unable to be opened at all in LibreOffice. Might be a
minor release regression (from the bibisect it seemed likely).

Confirmed as NEW.
Indeed, I reproduce the problem. I do not see a mean to modify the hyperlinks
in your test file. The problem seems to be linked to the
"Excel_BuilIn_Hyperlink" style.

Best regards. JBF

@Sushil - it would be really nice if you could narrow down the bug by getting a
simpler document. One way to do this is just to start deleting pages and trying
to save. See what page is actually causing the hang. The more complex the
document the harder it is for devs to figure out what's going on.

Email me if you need additional help - we'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Added bug 78904 - regression

DOCX file opens fine but when you try to save it again as a docx it crashes
LibreOffice. It's a pretty complex document (75+ pages) - I will tear it apart
if asked to do so but a bibisect is available so maybe that's sufficient. I
will ask OP to try to narrow down the document also.

This is an interesting one:

New - confirmed
Major - crash/loss of data
Highest - regression

Notes to Devs: Different results with different versions, 4.2 series
hangs/crashes, 4.3 apparently for OP did the same (at least hung), but I tested
with master from last week and I first got an error but now I can't reproduce
the error, now just hang and crash.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78912] Text autocorrect function does not correct according to the selected language

2014-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78912

mhhh... not reproducible under Win7x64 using LibO 4.2.4.2 if I digit "en" and
"con" in your test document inside the "spanish" paragraph I see no
autocorrection to "em" and "com"

did you check if those "en -> em" and "con -> com" autocorrect entries have
been erroneously been entered in the spanish replacement list or in the [All]
replacement list?

click "Tools/AutoCorrect options/Replace" then select "Spanish (spain)" and dig
trough the autocorrect lists. If there's nothing there, do the same in the
"[All]" list which is at the very top of the dropdown menu.

other thing you can do is to reset the user profile (backup first).
instructions here: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile

please also give exact informations about your Linux distro

Not a new problem - verified on at least 4.2.4.2 - it actually crashes after
some time.

version is oldest version we can confirm the problem - not the latest that it
has been tested on. Going to bibisect now to see if it ever worked

Please test again with a later master - I just opened it fine with 4.3 built a
few days ago.

Ubuntu 14.04 x64

marking as NEEDINFO - http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/

You can get a new daily there, try with a fresh profile:

If you can still reproduce, mark as UNCONFIRMED again and I'll get additional
tests. If it's resolved, mark the bug as RESOLVED -> WORKSFORME. Thanks!

Not a blocker - updating that. If you're interested to know how we prioritize,
shoot me an email (just FYI blockers almost always have to be basically
crashers that will affect virtually every user). This is just a normal bug (can

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78866] EDITING: Find goes to wrong set of cells

"I think the right in this case is notabug."
Here's were a "slippery slope argument" can be used...
let's call everything that can be fixed by deleting the configuration files
notabug... even if it was something our program screwed up on, and happens to
everybody.

I'm not saying this particular bug affected anyone besides me. But that calling
everything that can be fixed by deleting a (or the) configuration file(s)
"notabug"(or even "fixed")* might not be the best way to go about things.
"notabug" sounds like saying it's supposed to work like this. I doubt 'find'
was supposed to go to unmatching cells.

Perhaps adding an option called something like "resolved" "Workaround"**, or
something like that. This "Workaround" could even have common sub choices like:
"reinstalled", "deleted configuration file(s)", "other", etc...

*("fixed" implies the cause/source of the problem was found and corrected)
**("workaround" implies the cause/source of the problem may or may not have
been found, but something that can deal with the issue has)

Also - it's always recommended to use a ppa with Ubuntu/Kubuntu -
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/libreoffice-4-2

The package is NOT the same as the one on libreoffice.org. Install that ppa,
pure libreoffice, install libreoffice (you'll have 4.2.4) and then test again.
If you can still reproduce - give us a good screenshot with some magnifying
program showing the toolbars and mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Thanks

Please provide much simpler explanation. While we appreciate the extensive
documentation - we have hundreds and hundreds of bugs to go through and having
to read 4 pages of explanation is just too time consuming.

Please just write a simple set of instructions (on the bug report itself) and
attach the simplest test case you possibly can. Also, is this a regression or a
new problem?

Marking as NEEDINFO - once you provide much simpler steps and a much simpler
test case, mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED and we'll try to confirm. Thanks for
understanding - we truly to appreciate the effort you put into your
explanation, just our volunteer teams are stretched much to thin to dedicate
that much time to just reading about a single bug.

In this case - I think you just have much too much information. I would
recommend possibly taking this to the UX team and sorting it out with them.

Hi Adam, thanks for reporting.

I can reproduce with:
Win7x64
Version: 4.2.3.3 Build ID: 882f8a0a489bc99a9e60c7905a60226254cb6ff0

I think it is in relation the style:
Excel_BuiltIn_Comma
_-* #.##0,00 _F_t_-;-* #.##0,00 _F_t_-;_-* -?? _F_t_-;_-@_-

there four formats without any condition, so only positive; negative; zero
values, could be applied, and with several defined spaces (_ followed by a
character).

Giving enough width to the cell shows the value (about 6cm), seems as if the *
is producing the issue repeating the space after it, needing a wider cell.

Deleting the * in the style, seems to solved the issue.

(*) No crash.

(*) Cell B4 after the in the last of the original STR (Whoops!
I forgot to number the steps. Careless.) correctly shows "abcd"
in Liberation Sans and "efgh" in Courier 10 Pitch.

(*) After Save, Close, Open, B4 still shows the two fonts. (This is

OS: All

Created attachment 99362
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=99362&action=edit
Document with test cases (code) to reproduce the problem, screen shots to
clarigy the discussion, and further details regarding the behavior and the
impact.

Problem description:

The “setFormula()” method in Calc appears to be broken. It will work for very
simple formulas (e.g. “= 1”) but displays an “Err:508” in the cell for even
slightly more complex formulas ( e.g. “=and(c2,e2)” ). I have tested this in
both Linux and Windows environments and the problem occurs in both.

Steps to reproduce:
  -- oCell.setFormula("= and(c2,e2)") will create an "Err:508" message
-- see attached included document for additional information and examples.

Current behavior:
-- Using the setFormula() method will set the formula but in MOST cases will
leave the cell showing a "Err:508" message. This can then lead to other very
bad behavior. See the attached document for a further description and screen
shots.

Expected behavior:
Working setFormula().

changed that. I installed 4.2.4.2 and copying directly from webmail works as
expected. After copying the same image from both gimp and webmail
successfully, I saved the file and opened it in 3.5.7.2 also successfully.
After successfully copying from Gimp an attempt to copy paste from webmail into
3.5.7.2 incremented the page count from 4 to 13/14 and ultimately 22 in about
15 minutes before freezing Ubuntu 12.04.

Thanks for your request. Paste now works as expected. I didn't expect such
rapid improvement.

Not at the time of reporting but subsequently, yes.
Same result. Eventually, I cleared all program directories, roaming
directories, and purged all the registry entries relating to LibreOffice. Still
same result. I suspect there is a problem with how the .msi file is being
handled locally.
The only way I can now run LibreOffice is to install the portable version. That
would be ok, but I prefer to have the help pages local, which doesn't seem to
be possible.

Using the command "insert rows above", after Selecting a row with a cell

Unexpected results, operating on the same Resulting range, even with the use of

The same thing happens with any command that uses the range.

Greetings,
I am a not-tech-savvy user. As you know, the Wizards (writer, fax, agenda)
were not working on 4.2.4, which I downloaded yesterday because they were not
working on 4.1 that I previously had.
I have used the fax wizard in the past, so I know these work somewhere.
I am unable to discern from the comments how to get my Wizards working again.
Thank you so much.
Linda

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78927] New: FILESAVE: east asian characters: ods files saved with different font render in the same cell will brake the archive

2014-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78927

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 78927
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: east asian characters: ods files saved with
different font render in the same cell will brake the
archive
  Severity: critical
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: yuli...@yandex.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Version: LibreOfficeDev 4.2.5.0.0 Win-x86 build from May 19.

Reproducing: Create a new ods file with LibreOffice. Inside a cell, type any
character and choose one type of font for it. In the same cell, type any east
asian character (kanji/hanzi, katakana, hiragana, hangul) and choose a font
render other then Microsoft YaHei to render east asian characters, and that is
also different from the font of the first typed character. Save the file and
close. When you try to open the archive, it will give an error indicating the
region of the file that has the problem.
Note: you may have to save the file first, reopen it again and change the east
asian character font for another, since LibreOffice defaults east asian
characters to be rendered with Microsoft YaHei after they where firstly
introduced in the cell and after the file was firstly created.

This bug may be related to 77537: bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77537
In LibreOffice 4.2.4 and prior versions, trying to using different font types
in the same cell of an ods file would result in bug 77537, where cells from the
file would retain only one of the fonts selected after it was saved.

Michael: I guess the fix would be to make sure that we ignore
style:background-transparency if draw:opacity is present. I tried to do that,
but it seems that the normal content filters are evaluated only for the
style:graphic-properties's attributes, not for child elements' attributes (like
style:background-image); I wonder if you know of an example where we handle
something like this already.

commit bcc52fb2ebdf77a1cc089857775fd742085b45b6

add support for in-place style preview

specifically the additional call to Execute_Impl
from ~SfxCommonTemplateDialog_Impl()...
there is a ridiculous hack in Execute_Impl
to detect if the "this" instance has been deleted,
and that hack is not re-entrant, i.e. there
are 2 Execute_Impl on the stack now, and the
"outer" one will not return early and accesses
deleted members.

fixed on master.

hmm now i notice:

commit dda842bec338efb06457551136678340d0718807
Author: Noel Power
AuthorDate: Thu Aug 29 17:22:48 2013 +0100

disable/disconnect style preview from styles dialog

... which #ifdefs out a bunch of code, but strangely
duplicates the code in ~SfxCommonTemplateDialog_Impl()
- i assume this is an accident and it should have been
#ifdef'd instead?

will push a patch to remove this to master, if i'm wrong
it can always be reverted :)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78925] New: EDITING: Formulas with custom functions are not properly handled

2014-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78925

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 78925
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Formulas with custom functions are not
properly handled
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: a...@ferrit.net
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.3.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 99355
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=99355&action=edit
A test case file

Version: 4.2.3.3
Build ID: 4.2.3.3-1.fc20
System: Linux Fedora 20 x86_64
Desktop: Cinnamon 2.0.14-15.fc20.x86_64

Steps to reproduce (100% reproducible):
1) Open a new Calc document
2) Go to menu Tools->Macros->Organize macros->LibreOffice Basic
3) Select "Untitled1" (or whatever the current file name is) and click New to
create a new module "Module1"
(But this bug also applies to global macros)

4) In the module enter the following 2 functions

Function fn_1(d as any) as any
  fn_1 = "FN_1"
End Function

Function fn_2(d as any) as any
  fn_2 = "FN_2"
End Function

5) Select Sheet1
6) Enter this formula in cell A1: =FN_1(1)
7) Enter this formula in cell B1: =FN_2(1)

Expected result:
- cell A1 has formula "=FN_1(1)" and shows string "FN_1"
- cell B1 has formula "=FN_2(1)" and shows string "FN_2"

Actual result:
- cell A1 has formula "=FN_1(1)" and shows string "FN_1"
- cell B1 has formula "=FN_1(1)" and shows string "FN_1" (the bug)
- attempts to re-enter the formula "=FN_2(1)" in B1 again are ignored (the
formula is reset back to "=FN_1(1)" on Enter).

PS. Attached a file with those steps performed (but not sure you want to open
someone else's file with macros :-) ).

2014-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78908

Aha, it seems that the bug is about how a bitmap background and transparency
interacts. In the past, style:background-transparency (which is 100%, e.g.
fully transparent) was ignored, and in case the user set a (semi-)transparent
background e.g. to 90%, then the child style:background-image's draw:opacity
attribute was set to 100-value, so "10%" in this case.

The new behavior is incompatible (though it's consistent with drawinglayer
shapes): it parses style:background-transparency, that's how in the document
the background bitmap is not visible.

Summary: UI: Regression: toolbars have different heights
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: sergio.calleg...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA PossibleRegression
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.4 release
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

Issue also affects impress in addition to draw.

Issue has been tested with the kde integration and without the gnome
integration packages on kubuntu 14.04, using the libreoffice packages
distributed on the libreoffice site (not the distro ones).

Problem description:

Since LibO 4.2 the 'line and filling toolbar' and the 'text formatting toolbar'
have slightly different heights (maybe 1-2 pixels). Up to LibO 4.1 all
toolbars had exactly the same height.

As a consequence, when one needs to draw something that is just a bit complex,
the drawing continuously jumps up and down by a few pixels, whenever one
selects or unselects text. This is very annoying, you feel like trying to
prepare a drawing while standing on the tube since the pictures moves under
your eyes.

The issue is present with the automatic and small settings for the icon sizes
and not with the large icon size.

I suspect that it may also manifest differently depending on the screen
resolution, etc. However, my point of view is that the toolbars should have a
fixed height, no matter what.

Bernhard: Please don't answer from Thunderbird. You can read the comments from
your emailer, it's normal since Bugzilla sends the comments to the people who
created the bugtracker and people put in CC List of the bugtracker.
To answer, click on this link:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78364#
and add a comment.

To understand what I mean, just take a look to your comments in
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78364
You also may see there's no attachment to the bugtracker.
About >3MB attachments, I read about
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla-Attachments but didn't
understand how it worked.

Anyway, could you try this:
- create your document without any specific fonts and test if
open/save/close/reopen works
- create your document with 1 (not all of them) specific font and test if
open/save/close/reopen works

The pb could be 1 (or more) of the fonts. Could you give name of them + link
where you retrieved them?

With a debug build of commit 20c5618, fetched 2014-05-18 20:13 UTC,
the segfault is gone.

Thank you, Julien, for the heads-up. But that commit referenced
fdo#41295, "MAILMERGE Corrupted PDFs in massmailing". Is that what
you intended? If so, the resolution should be FIXED.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76463] Expose fielded date values to direct formatting of the Format -> Change case menu

Summary|Add a character effect to |Expose fielded date values
   |capitalize the first letter |to direct formatting of the
   |of a sentence   |Format -> Change case menu
 Ever confirmed|0 |1

Fielded dates like the example receive autoformat/completion

The default lowercase formatting in fr local seems correct for date inputs in
that local.

With the specific date code (from
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Number_Format_Codes ) of J - I get
the correct date entry for French language use-- e.g. "lundi 19 mai"

Or, working in en-US if I open a new document, and insert a Field then apply
the Date formatting code of D - I get the expected capitalization --
e.g. "Monday, 19 May"

So the auto-formatting and completion is correct and WAD.

Also, most formatting actions from the Formatting tool bar or the F11 Formats &
Style dialog seem to apply to the fielded date without issue.

But, can not use the actions from the Format -> Change case menu, i.e.
Sentence case, lower case, upper case, Capitalize every word, or toggle case
against dates inserted into these fields.

The enhancement would be ability to apply a capitalization style to format the
fielded date data.

Related to bug 66914--to integrate fielded data into paragraph formatting--but
here would be to expose fielded date entry to formatting actions not currently
available to use.
