I have not yet upgraded to 4.2.5.2 (long biz trip since the new release) but
made a test in 4.2.4.2

Procedure as described above.

Result: the same.

Changed status to NEW and hope this is correct.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66250] Use a Named range as data source for Chart

2014-07-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66250

(In reply to comment #2)
Inserting a new row beneath the last row will then automatically update the
chart as expected. Same effect if inserting a new row prior to first row of
 data.

Thanks. I already do that. But I hope that someone actually adds this feature.
It doesn't make sense that you can use Named ranges for some features but not
for others. It's inconsistent and unintuitive ;)

the thing is that editing / inserting into a select (view) result is very
problematic at all (for the database behind base).

so i'd say that the real bug here is, that it seems like you could change the
data, and the UI should be improved to destroy that hope earlier.

In 4.3, LO rendering is suboptimal. Does not affect text rendering only (which
has been an issue in Mac OS for some time) but the whole UI, including window
system buttons. See attached scereenshot with a document from 4.3 (the blur is
not a result of because of image compression).

 (In reply to comment #12)
 ...
I was going to ask the exact same question. Simply disabling the recently
used text list is NOT the solution to this problem and if that is what is
 saying,

that's a temporarily workaround for those who wanna absolutely get rid of start
screen thumbs. it's not the final solution, since it has downside effect of
turning off the recent document list

... then the title of this enhancement and priority should be reverted
 back to what it was.

I agree. I reverted the title to the original description.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80813] FILEOPEN: Spreadsheet created in 3.6 crashes when opened in 4.2.5.2

2014-07-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80813

I could open the file in OpenOffice 4.01 and I found errors in sheet1 and
sheet2.
All cells with currencies was formatted as 'Standard' but showed correct as
currency (RED for negative values and BLACK for positive with a $ in front)
Column F in sheet1 has an error in conditional formatting (second condition
should be between 1000,1 and 2000 - not between 100,1 and 2000)

After correcting the errors I could open the file in LibreOffice 4.2.5

Hi Tommy27,

1 - I did experience de same issue in version 4.3.0.1.

2 - To activate Quickstarter (because the option to activate during
installation is ignored by the software):

2.1 - Tools Options LibreOffice Memory Load LibreOffice during system
start-up

3 - To disable I used the hardest way, I uninstalled the software and deleted
all remaining traces by hand (folders, files and registry keys I was able to
find) and then installed again. Probably I could simply erase the shortcut in
my Startup folder, but I preferred do perform a clean install.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80941] New: LibreOffice should be installable from a GUI.

  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: h...@deragon.biz
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

Following is the current instructions for installing the latest version of
LibreOffice on a Debian based OS:

--
When you unpack the downloaded archive, you will see that the contents have
been decompressed into a sub-directory. Open a file manager window, and change
directory to the one starting with LibreOffice_, followed by the version
number and some platform information.

This directory contains a subdirectory called DEBS. Change directory to the
DEBS directory.

Right-click within the directory and choose Open in Terminal. A terminal
window will open. From the command line of the terminal window, enter the
following command (you will be prompted to enter your root user's password
before the command will execute):

The following commands will install LibreOffice and the desktop integration
packages (you may just copy and paste them into the terminal screen rather than
trying to type them):

sudo dpkg -i *.deb
--

This is bad. It should be much easier than that and should be all GUI based
for all OSs.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 74834] CONFIGURATION: Option to disable documents thumbnails on the New Start Screen

(In reply to comment #15)

I do not understand what is different here from whatever document you are
editing; you are not obliged to show your screen to all persons around.

A user will probably not remember all the documents he/she has been working on
recently. If there is someone in their office within visual range of the
monitor and that user starts LO, it will expose actual document content for
others to see, not just a list of document names.

Another example- imagine your laptop connected to a projector for a meeting
with dozens of people watching and you open LO, forgetting that it is going to
show actual content of your recently used documents or you forgot that you
had been working on a sensitive document a few days before and WHAM- everyone
can see a part of it now before you fully open the document they are supposed
to see.

It is simply a very bad idea for LO to do this and give the user no way to
persistently turn it off. Should I make a sample screenshot that will
illustrate the danger, or does everyone understand the issue?

After that, the only way I've found to disable the red squigglies in my preview

Strange is the fact that I never had used field shadings before. So there may

just wanted to ask if there is anything new on this (I can imagine it is not

Just retried it on LibreOffice 4.3.0RC2 openSUSE 64bit and the only difference
to my prior experience (on 4.3 beta win) is that it crashes already after the
step when having confirmed the Data-Define-Range dialog with OK (as Eike Rathke
already observed).

A document with a TOC that becomes empty after update.

Ways to simulate bug:

1) Create a TOC following the standard method -- i.e. defining a few lines as
Headers 1, Header 2, Header 3, etc. and the rest as body. Save it.
2) Open saved document, and update the TOC - right-click on TOC, select Update
Index/Table.
3) Only the Header will remain and the rest becomes empty, and there appear to
be no way to recreate the TOC.

A work around that works:

1) Save the document as do a .doc or .docx file.
2) Open the document in LO and update the TOC, and it works fine.

I searched and couldn't find a bug report on this. I've attached a document
that displays this behaviour for your use if needed.

As noted by Marlin it works in the pre-releases of 4.3 but not in the 4.2

I can confirm the issue with LibreOffice 4.2.5 on Windows 7 64-bit using NVDA
as a screen reader. I tried it with and without experimental features
activated.

The issue does not appear in LibreOffice 4.2.5 on Mac and Fedora, both of them
report misspelled words, so it seems to be a Windows only problem.

There is no reason to select items in recent files pane.

They should be opened by the single click, unconditionally.

Would disagree, in that from a user perspective, following what their OS norm
is really is the correct behavior, i.e. a single or a double click.

But it does add dev complexity in forcing the GTK+ UI Widgets to follow the OS
or DTE behavior.

exported pdf too. Can't edit the document by hand, my process involve convert

 @Stuart
why did you label this as MABlobo inferiore sn. ?
since the issue is in 4.2.x a s well I think it should be moved to MAB4.2
 list.

The correction to confine the window frame to available screenscape and maybe
provide vertical scroll bar should be pretty simple. Efe Yalaman had withdrawn
from working on it due to his other GSOC project, so in closing bug 79489 as
dupe of this while looking at annoyances for for the 4.3 release (and as a
number of folks have been pointing UX solutions to inclusion in Expert
Configuration) simply had to pick one, so went with the 4.3 mab.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77472] Relative cross-ref in footnotes refer to position relative to text in footnote (not relative to main text with numerical footnote)

2014-07-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77472

Hello Jay,

thanks for your reply. I can't remember the version I originally did this on.
However, I just opened it with 4.3.0.1 and the problem is the same:

The cross reference links to the beginning of 'Paragraph Two', which is
correct.

There is however a footnote that is set to have an output of 'below' or 'above'
regarding the beginning of 'Paragraph Two'.

The current output is 'above' because Paragraph Two is above the text within
the footnote itself. But with footnotes the reference 'above' or 'below' should
be relative to the corresponding upper number (e.g. ¹) within the main text,
not relative to the text within the footnote. Therefore the correct output in
the footnote of the attached file should be 'below'. (Since 'Paragraph Two' is
below the ¹ within the main text).

English is not my first language, so I hope I made myself clear… Feel free to
ask any questions!

(In reply to comment #1)
 Hello vgoebbel

When i tested the example document, the cross reference linked to the
beginning of 'Paragraph Two'. Is this the correct behaviour you're looking
 for?

Which version of LibreOffice did you test this on?

This report (opening a DOCX) would seem related to bug 49785 (save ODT as
DOCX). Opening the document linked in comment 0 under GNU/Linux highlights an
improvement in the handling of the second main heading in recent versions:

- v4.1.6.2 Build ID: 40ff705089295be5be0aae9b15123f687c05b0a and v4.2.5.2 Build
ID: 61cb170a04bb1f12e77c884eab9192be736ec5f5 both render the problem as shown
in attachments.
- v4.3.0.2 Build ID: 14ed55896fdfcb93ff437b85c4f3e1923d2b1409 renders the
identifier as expected.

One way to find 'Used Styles' is:

Go to 'Styles and Formatting' (F11), and choose 'Applied styles'

This will sow all styles that are used 'somewhere' in the document.

It is not possible to find the location where they are used, which would be a
nice enhancement too.

It is time for developers to create a tour-de-force and solve all the
frame style bugs. They have been there for years!

I change the summary. I expect the version should be something as 'inherited
from OOo - since it's as such for a long time.

Cheers,
Cor

Open the dialog Insert Frame and see that some spacing, tab Type and
especially Columns, is odd. Too much spacing between elements on top and at the
bottom.

I'll attach a screen print from Windows

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80938] view not editable

--- Comment #1 from Terrence Enger lo_b...@iseries-guru.com ---
Created attachment 102306

example database

I observe:

(A) with embedded hsqldb (try1_hsqldb.odb attached):

(1) Edit in SQL view... on the view displays the expected
window, but the pane for the SQL statement is entirely empty.
This pane should show a sql SELECT statement.

(2) Edit on the view displays the Design View window, but the
tables pane is empty and the grid of columns selected into the
query is empty. The tables pane should show table example1
and the grid should show two fields selected: number and
words.

(B) with embedded firebird:

(1) There is no menu option Edit it SQL view... in the pop-up
menu for the view.

(2) Edit on the view displays a window like Create Table in
Design View, i.e. grid of fields, the columns being Field
Name, Field Type, and Description. All fields in the
grid are protected.

These observations are from master commit dc795cb, fetched 2014-07-02
2357 UTC, configured:

Hi Gergely,

Thanks for the issue.
In 3.5.x to 4.0.0 I see no fields at all, only text.
In 3.3.x and 3.4.x all the fields are shown.

regards,
Cor
