Confirmed with libreffice 4.3.0.2, ubuntu 14.04 x86.

Scrolling and editing the Chinese document is very slow, compared with the
english document.

It may be because of the font fallback.
Western font was applied to the Chinese chars. If you set a Chinese font (for
example, SimSun, Wenquanyi MircoHei, etc) it will be fast again.

Set to NEW, changed summary to reflect the font fallback issue.

Hi Regina Henschel,

This issue seems fixed in the newer versions. I tried with 4.3.0.2, it works as
expected, when copy to Writer, percentage format is not lost.

Will you please check with the latest version (4.2.5.2 or 4.3.0.2)?

Thanks.

Your bug was confirmed at least 1 year ago and has not had any activity on it
for over a year. Your bug is still set to NEW which means that it is open and
confirmed. It would be nice to have the bug confirmed on a newer version than
the version reported in the original report to know that the bug is still
present -- sometimes a bug is inadvertently fixed over time and just never
closed.

If you have time please do the following:
1) Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of
LibreOffice (preferably 4.2 or newer).
2) If it is present please leave a comment telling us what version of
LibreOffice and your operating system.
3) If it is NOT present please set the bug to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a
short comment telling us your version and Operating System

Please DO NOT
1) Update the version field
2) Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
3) Set the bug to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that
is not appropriate in this case)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 32281] Export a log of emails not sent in 'Sending e-mail messages' dialog

Please read this message in its entirety before responding.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 33279] Let the user specify the footer and header locations if desired

2014-07-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=33279

Please read this message in its entirety before responding.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78677] PRINTING: solid line polygon prints with one edge dashed in user-provided file

2014-07-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78677

Found out the problem: The right hexagon has an empty bitmap set as the
background pattern. For some reason, on Windows only, this renders background
colors in a checkered pattern outside of the bounds of the object. It does not
seem worth investigating further - if this problem exists for non-trivial
bitmaps, it will be quite evident and can be investigated then. In this case,
user work-around is to use a solid fill color (which was intended in the first
place).

Not bibisectable unfortunately.

Repro Steps:
1. Download attachment
2. Open Writer
3. File -> open (select your downloaded html file)

Obeserved: The borders can be seen on screen but they are empty (no color) and
the borders are not black (just the outline is visible)

Expected: The color from the original html file is retained and the borders are
black as seen in the image attached in the description

Minor - can slow down professional quality work (you'd have to reapply the
colors after opening the file).
Medium - regression so bumped up from low

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81132] Removal of formatting options from the right-click context menu

2014-07-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81132

Hi guys,
So, a couple of thoughts:

1) It'd be good to get feedback from the a11y team on this. I wrote to their
mailing list, hopefully someone will comment. (Michael, do you happen to know
whether toolbars are exposed to accessibility technology, and, if not, why?)

2) Font name and font size should be removed no matter what the final decision
is -- it's very bad practice to hard-code these, styles should always be used
instead.

3) Christophe mentioned fast keyboard access. Given the numbers for context
menu usage and given that, based just on my own experience, most people trigger
this menu using their mouse, this faster access is rarely used, and it's still
not anywhere near as fast as memorizing the shortcuts for individual commands.
For quick access to context-based commands, it would be nice to show shorcut
combinations over the toolbar when the Ctrl key is pressed, in a similar way to
MS Office's Alt key handling [1].

4) Christophe also mentions memory load. He's right, but the contextual
toolbars and the new sidebar should ideally keep users from searching through
menus and dialogs. It'd be nice to get more things into the sidebar and slowly
get rid of the need to use dialogs. It'd be good to invest energy into that
rather than customization.

5) It'd be nice if "Clear formatting", "Change Case", and "Synonyms" didn't
appear when no text is selected. Conversely, "Page..." should appear only when
nothing is selected. Would that be feasible?

6) If the commands under "Style" are kept, the title of that menu should be
changed to "Decoration", "Effects", or even "Format", as "Style" should always
just refer to our Styles feature.

7) On the topic of styles, it'd be nice to have a "Paragraph Styles" and a
"Character Styles" here.

Anyway, I'm for the changes Jay proposed. They're backed by data, easy to
implement, and just as easy to reverse if they prove unpopular.

Confirmed:

Reproducible Steps:

5. Print to file
6. Open the pdf with a pdf viewer

While later working with the files I noticed the file started working, and any

Could be there's some line of code which causes the selection window to

Meanwhile I've upgraded to 4.2.5.2, and cannot replicate the original problem.
I confirm it might have been the selection you've shown in the screenshot.
Thus, sorry for bothering you.
I may only suggest this option is turned on by default (so it's on even when
one does not expand "other options") - it would be more "dummy resistant"

Can you please tell me how the test document displayed on your system: was the

The Ubuntu bug people need to know which of their versions is incorrect: LO3.5
on Ubuntu 12.04, or is it LO4.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 which is incorrect.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81198] Other: physical constants

2014-07-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81198

Interesting approach, I didn't even knew the "named ranges". I've always putted
the values in a cell and call the cell's index (letter-number) in the
functions.

Nevertheless I don't have a problem rather than an enhancement request.
What I'm suggesting is calc to have them already integrated in the functions
menu in order to easily refer to them in any spreadsheet, without having the
user to search for the values, write them, name them etc. For example in the
function menu we have "economical" "logigal" "mathematical" etc menus, we could
have also a "constants" menu with all the basic constants. I believe that it
can be easily implemented and would be a plus in usefulness.

As I see the problem of the linked forms (one to many, not many to one) seems
to be solved. Some feature-request are still there. But this should be reported
in a new bug. Could be it's also no request if you see the difference between
Base and Access and have learned to work with the functions Base provides.

You could get the englisch Base-Handbook for download here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/e/e8/BH40-BaseHandbook.pdf

It's a little bit older than the German original. I hope it would help you a
little bit.

I will close this bug as WORKSFORME. Feel free to reopen if you don't see it

A Very Slow Chinese Document

I tried writing some long documents using Chinese. However, as the number of
characters approaches 1000, the scrolling becomes so slow that if I scroll
once, I need to wait for several seconds for it to stop. I have created some
simple comparason documents for Chinese and English. The English document is
very fast though.

I am under Funtoo Linux, amd64. The version I use is 4.2.5.2, but it also
appeared for earlier versions. The attachments are the two simple documents I
used for comparing.

test ods file showing how to use Named Ranges

Hi, you can use "Named Ranges" to do that. See my test file.

Just prepare a sheet which contain all the Constants you want,
first column are their names, second column are their values,
and then "Insert-Names-Create", make sure "Left Column" is selected in the
pop-up dialog.
You can use the named ranges anywhere in the spreadsheet during your
calculation.
