[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81994] New: Copying a Graph from Excel to Impress causes data loss once printed.

2014-07-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81994

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 81994
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Copying a Graph from Excel to Impress causes data loss
once printed.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: for...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.4 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Graph imported from excel

The issue is when i try and copy a graph created in Excel to LO Impress data is
missing once printed.
It initial looks fine as data has been copied across and can be viewable on the
screen.

The issue arises when you then go to print or export to pdf the presentation.
Basically all the data on the graph is missing.

I have also tried a Paste special as a Bitmap. This works better as when
printed the data is retained. The only issue with the document then is the
image is missing the bottom and right outline borders.

This paper can be found here:

http://www.ucalgary.ca/icic/files/icic/36-TCS-2-DM.pdf

There is however no reference to a "repeat operator" in the work. Can you
clarify which page in that work and where on the page the operator is
indicated. Status set to NEEDINFO. Please set status back to UNCONFIRMED once
the requested information is provided. Thanks.

The attached DOCX file has a title and a subtitle, each has styles applied.
Both styles were set "centered".

When open with LibreOffice, the title is centered as expected, but sub-title is
not centered.

The file was created with MSO 2010. It's centered in both MSO 2010 and Kingsoft
Office.

Reproducible with:
LibreOffice 4.3.0.4, 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ 2014-07-21_06:04:54
Windows XP SP3.

Also reproducible with Apache OpenOffice 4.1.

This is because the MS Binary / OOXML formats do not support named list styles
(these are defined in ODF only). Refer this thread for further detail:

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/36453/why-are-my-list-styles-renamed-as-wwnumn-when-converting-from-odt-to-docx/

There is nothing LO can do about this. I think this bug can be RESOLVED as
NOTABUG.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65328] FILESAVE: after particular XLSX saving document structure is lost and it could not be opened in MSO

2014-07-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65328

--- Comment #3 from Timon  ---
LibreOffice Version: 4.3.0.4 Build ID: 62ad5818884a2fc2e5780dd45466868d41009ec0
on Russian Windows XP Professional SP3 (32bit)

Much better, but not perfect.

Document structure is lost, but visually file became more similar to the
orginal after reopening (font and backround colors lost in some places, but
some are as it was in original (for example, D259:D260 is as in original file);
bold text is lost. Problem places - A30:AMJ30 or A47:AMJ47 or D41:D46 and so
on. Problem with columns default width is fixed (they are similar to original
file).
File COULD be opened in MSOffice suite now (tested in 2007), but continues to
report an error. First we see the following message - In Example_32_2.xlsx
found content that could not be read. Try to restore content of the file? If
you trust the source of this file, click "Yes." After that MSOffice says that
"There are errors in file... But after that we can see file content. It's not
perfect, but we can see it!

It has been intruduced after 4.1.5.3.

Yes I think it's an export/filesave issue as described in bug description.

But your attached file in comment 11, if you created that using MSO, looks ok
since it shows $DPCache_Data.$A$1:$C$3 in source range. Refreshing & playing
with the filter also not destroying the data. So no problem if importing from

Wait again...WORKSFORME in 4.3.0.4!
Seems it's fixed somewhere.

Steps to observe:
1. Delete the sheet "data" in the attached ods file;
2. Save and reopen.

-> Pivot appears OK now!

right

if there are around 4 rows. then assume that replaced 6200 rows.

Join() called 6200 count and

inside Join(), loop from 0~0 to 0~6200. this is actual replace job.

after replaceall, trigger to call Join() every time above.

below is function call i found.

1. when push replaceall button

in sc directory

something more for handle click
ScDocument::SearchAndReplace
ScTable::SearchAndReplace
ScTable::ReplaceAll
ScRangeList::Join

2. triggering every time

svx/source/dialog/srchdlg.cxx
IMPL_LINK(SvxSearchDialog, TimeoutHdl_Impl, Timer*, pTimer)
trigerring

then in sc directory

ScDocument::GetSelectionFunction
ScTable::UpdateSelectionFunction
ScColumn::UpdateSelectionFunction ( here loop 1024 if selected col is only 1 )
ColumnSpanSet::set
ScMarkData::GetMarkedRanges
ScMarkData::FillRangeListWithMarks
ScRangeList::Join ( slow )

I disabled #2 function. then after replace all cpu 100% usage not happened.
i know it's wrong but i just tested.

I modified ScColumn::UpdateSelectionFunction to loop only selected col times
for testing.
but it was not enough.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 79332] self-contained pivot table, dataloss after after save and reopen

2014-07-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79332

--- Comment #9 from Kevin Suo  ---
(In reply to comment #8)
> This is not a regression, not even a bug since it was never supported to
> begin with.

This is a serious issue because it causes data loss:
Assume sheet1 has data, sheet2 has pivot. A user may delete sheet1 after he has
draw the pivot, and when he looks at the pivot at this moment it has numbers.
But when reopen he lost all the data! Before lost the user was not aware of it.

If this is a feature request and could not be fixed in time, I think we should:
make the pivot broken as soon as the user deletes sheet1. This will make the
user aware that he may lost data when delete, so he can UNDO to reserve it.

It is still broken in master and I think I found the problem. During the

make sense with a dot in the name.

I just need to find an editeng method that does the same but does not assume
that a dot is a word boundary.

main menu and was the same.

I've found the following workaround quirk:

Replacing the "..program\resource\smde.res" resp. "smfr.res", "smes.res" etc.
by
the english version *smen.res* will do the trick: lower case greek symbols à la
"%pi" are working again.

Problem: I can live with a partial untranslated GUI, but not with a non
functional formula editor. So I can still use all my 15 year old math

I tested your file by opening it and then modifying it and reopening it and it
was fine in 4.2.5. If you'd like a more updated version of libreoffice than
what is available through ubuntu's repos, you'll need to add the libreoffice

2014-07-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #11 from Kohei Yoshida  ---
(In reply to comment #10)
> Created attachment 103748 [details]
> callrgind result

Thanks! This helps. No need to use tar when compressing though; you can run
bzip2 directly on the original file if you are only compressing a single file.
That way kcachegrind can open the compressed data directly without you needing
to uncompress the file first. Just for a quick tip.

Now, the profile data suggests that the hot spot is

ScRangeList::Join()

which is interesting. This call is used probably while calculating the areas
where the replacement occurred so that Calc can highlight those areas at the
very end. Finding out why this becomes slow all of a sudden will lead us to
the right direction.

There are three copies of the same file in attachment, but in different

displaying incorrect with table in the middle.
Also in .rtf file's format the year 2014 is on the next page and the header in
second page is not so as it should be.

difference.

2014-07-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81976

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 81976
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Other: Base forms does not honor link master/slave
fields
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: goyod...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA PossibleRegression
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.3 rc
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 103761
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=103761&action=edit
Test database

This happens when there are more than two forms chained. The innermost form
does not show the correct records. Confirmed in Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.04.
Find attached a test database which shows the problem.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the form TestForm in the attached test database.
2. Click on the second record in the "Companies" grid (Id = 1)

Current behavior:
The "Employees" grid shows two records which are unrelated to the selected
company. See screenshot_lo43.png attached.

Expected behavior:
The "Employees" grid should be empty (as it happens with LO 4.2.6) since there
are no employees related to that company. See screenshot_lo42.png attached.

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.3.0.3 rc
Last worked in: 4.2.6.2 rc

yes, I think I did a god catch.

same issue with attachment 69966 which is again a single word of 63335
characters
the lack of white spaces is the crucial point that triggers the hanging bug.

I remove this from MAB4.3 since the feature works fine, this is just a very
weird corner case of a paragraph made of a single word with 63335 characters.

Just for the record, last stable LO version, 4.2.5, requires Java 32 bits on
Windows.
Indeed, LO can only be built in 32bit on Windows (whereas it can be 32 or 64 in
Linux and MacOs).
Could you give it a try with Java 1.7 or 1.6 (but 32 bits) and LO 4.2.5?

mmmhhh... wait a minute... maybe I've found what's wrong...

that text file, it's a basically a single word composed by 63335 numeric
characters.

I have a theory It hangs when you add a letter or another number and then
press enter because that 63335 words is somehow processed or checked against
autocorrect replacement tables... maybe there's a 16bit limit to single words
that are processed by spellchecker

if you enter a space before the last 63334th character then you can type
whatever you want and no hangs happens

what you think about it?
