Argh! The issue is more weird than expected (by me): it occurs only if I select
a part of the main title of the attached text document.

Step to reproduce:
1/ open the attached text document
2/ try to select something in the title "Guide pour la rédaction d’un mémoire
de stage ou de thèse".

-> crash.

Selection works as expected in the body of the text. Works too in Calc and
Impress.

Best regards. JBF

NB:
- selection works in the about dialog.
- Ubuntu / Unity does not like the crash, I had difficulty to return to the

Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: wiena...@gmail.com

 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Related to 75130 but is still present in 4.4.0.0.alpha of 20-Aug-2014:

I draw a border in LibO. I save as .xls or .xlsx. I open the file in Excel
(2010, on Windows). The border shows up as a dotted line.

The message thread re. 75130 indicates it is an issue of line thickness. As a
minimum, set the LibO defaults such that Excel produces borders similar to the
one drawn in LibO. Better yet, ensure that >solid< borders drawn in LibO
>never< become dotted ones in Excel.

This is independent of .xls or .xlsx file format. Also fairly independent no
the version of Excel used (Excel 2004 Mac produces the same dotted border).

I totally get you're saying but I disagree. This is a workaround not a
solution. In Word there's no need to deselect autocorrect options to select
just part of a hyperlink. This is not about autocorrect options but about
LibreOffice treating hyperlinks as a unselectable blocks, whereas Word treats
hyperlinks as links AND text. In a text document there's no reason why
hyperlinks should be treating as an object instead of editable text

The first key is _ ^ _ / _ ", _ " _ is obtained using the shift key. The

If it is a Kubuntu bug, why does the problem occur randomly only with Libre

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82802] FORMATTING: custom conditional style

2014-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82802

Hi Sophie!
Yes, it's a bit confusing, that you can only modify it if it was saved with at
least one style applied to the conditional style. Even if you create it with
some styles applied, and removing them later causes the unability to modify. I
can imagine some scenarios when this occurs, like you make up your mind with
some formatting, and have it closed when there are no styles applied at the
moment.
Styles should be able to be designed as conditional styles even after creating
them. As I see this wouldn't cause any problem, because the conditional ones
are still modifiable later, so why couldn't the normal ones be. More so, if you
have the conditional style checked, it should mean that it's meant to be a
conditional style, even if it has no styles applied to it.
/This time I tried it with LO version 4.2.4.2 under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS./

This sounds like a painful workaround. I'm migrating from Microsoft Office and
this is the sort of thing that puts off new users.

In Word you don't need to deactivate a function to do a quick selection and
then activate again. This sounds like a bug to me.

Being able to do something simple with 10 clicks doesn't mean it's ok. How
could I at least request this as a possible feature to add?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82873] New: Default behaviour of inserting an image in a list

2014-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82873

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 82873
CC: libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Default behaviour of inserting an image in a list
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: ux-advise
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 104987
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=104987&action=edit
how the bullet entries appeared

By default, when you set the before and after text indentation to a paragraph,
the inserted image will take up the non-indented part, but when only the before
text indent is set, like in a bullet/number list or an indented section, the
image is inserted above this section and takes up the full width of the page.

Steps:
1) open new writer document
2) add a bullet entry
3) on the bullet line, add an image

If the image is smaller than the width of the page, it will push the bullet
entry to its right as if wrapping was set to after. If the image is larger than
the page width, it will shrink the image and place it above the bullet line.
Both are shown in the attached screenshot.

But outside of this, i dont understand why the default behaviour of inserting
an image would be centered in the paragraph/page when the paragraph alignment
is set to left.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82239] Graphics handling on scaling was changed

2014-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82239

--- Comment #15 from thorsten.bran...@brace.de ---
@jay: Picture 1 was made simply as showed by reducing the size of the frame.
The picture size stays and you get the "second" frame if the frame is smaller
then the picture.

You are right, when using only relative to width it works, thanks.

As said, I cannot reproduce Picture 2 any more (which really ticks me off).
Picture 1 is also in that form not reproducible, however, as seen in the video
you picture gets bigger than the frame it is in, which is a similar behaviour.

I suspect actually with most of my LibreOffice problems serious memory
management difficulties.

I could reproduce some of the behaviour when I set the "Options -> Memory"
settings to maximum values (I have plenty of RAM). Then the problem of picture
2 occurs under the following circumstances:
- Insert picture
- Scale picture (just a little bit)
- Add description with frame
- Click picture (usually "picture" shows sometimes on the first right click,
sometimes I have to click something else and then redo)
- Type->Scale->Relativ to, BUT there is an additional buttom "Automatic" which
is selected but does not show always. IF THIS BUTTON is selected, picture 2
happens.

As soon as I start the screen recording, I don't get this creepy button
anymore...

Hi Marcell, in my tests yesterday it works even with a custom style, but I
applied the condition inside the dialog box.
Now I understand what you said, in fact, if you do not apply a condition during
the creation of the style, it's not possible to modify it after saving the
document because the conditional possibility is lost.
On one hand I find it normal that if you don't apply a condition, the
conditional style doesn't exist, on the other hand, the possibility to modify
it once created should be offered.
Set it as New - Sophie

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82857] FORMATTING: Formatted text in cell contents not replicated when another cell "targets" those contents

2014-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82857

I agree that a formatted cell does not/should not carry its formatting into
another referring cell because cells are their own discrete entities and should
carry their own discrete attributes.
Additionally, I would expect a copied cell to carry the attributes with it,
but, the content's attributes are just as valid as any cell with a numerical
basis and I wouldn't expect to refer to a numeric cell with 12345 in it and get
54321. Would you disagree?
Also, is it significant whether other office suites are also flawed - surely
the objective is to build a superior product not just an "also ran". However, I
do accept that if the original spec was flawed then this particular facet may
well be System Normal.

Looks like you attached a file which is already corrupted. Another note: your

Was the hyperlink/url missing after filesave?

Please provide step by step procedure so we can replicate the problem.

Owen, I Second this, I'm sure in a previous version there was an option to
'remove hyperlink', and believe this a good feature.

In MS Excel 2003 the right click context menu contains 'remove' which converts
the link to plain text.

This option should ideally be available from the context menu and the hyperlink
edit panel.

Could you please add one copy (export of the data for the whole database) with

mysqldump -u  -l  > /home/user/database.sql;

or a command like this?
Put the file together with the *.odb-file in a *.zip-package and it could well
be downloaded and installed here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82857] FORMATTING: Formatted text in cell contents not replicated when another cell "targets" those contents

2014-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82857

Looks like notabug. It also doesn't work if whole source cell bold/italic.
Wondering if any office suite behaves like what is described.

But it's interesting..could be an enhancement request.. :)
Lets wait someone opinion if this could be a valid enhancement.
