Moshepack was right. Hit "Find" button will correctly searching based on
direction selected (rows/columns).

This issue is only appear by hitting "Find All" button, the result list won't
respect to rows/columns direction.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82774] Other: Base crashes during form design -Table Control

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82774

Hi Robert,

I renamed the old file as indicated by you in the first instance! The
re-installation was a later attempt. In fact I have shifted to 4.2.6.2 now
but the problem remained. Which is why I am starting a new form (file) to
get over some inadvertent error on my part while designing the crashing
file.
My doubts on the table control however remain unanswered.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83178] New: Tools - Language - Chinese Conversion... crashes

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83178

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 83178
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Tools - Language - Chinese Conversion... crashes
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: fdb...@neosheffield.co.uk
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Observed on OSX 10.9.4 / LO 4.3.0.4 and master

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new Writer document containing "啊"
2. Select all
3. Open Tools - Language - Chinese Conversion... (requires Asian language
support to be enabled in Options - Language Settings - Languages)
4. Click on "OK" ("Conversion Direction" can be either way)

However, this only occurs on my own build and not the release build of 4.3.0.4.
This could be a result of differences in the build environment (release builds
are still built on 10.6 ...) or the fact that assertions are not enabled for
release

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82088] EasyHack: Clean up starutil namespace alias

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82088

It seems like someone already fixed all of the occurrences. I found one
additional namespace alias "utl" for the same namespace and changed it
(dbconversion.cxx).

In addition there are some other inconsistencies with namespace aliases for
"::com::sun::star::util::NumberFormat" and
"::com::sun::star::util::MeasureUnit" by sometimes using an alias and sometimes
not using it. Shall I fix them as well?

As I am new to LibreOffice and C++ I'd like to offer my patch for this bug. Do
I have to follow these steps
(https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/gerrit) after testing my
changes?

Best regards, Stefan

Hi Peter,

I could confirm the behavior for every 4.3-version installed here. Doesn't
appear in LO 4.2.6.2.

When I open the form in 4.3 it hangs for some seconds, showing a readable entry
in the field. Then it switched to such things like showing which fonts are
installed or only squares.

Could you add the database and the *.sql-file as a *.zip as attachment to this
bug so other people could have a look at it? Should I do it? Or should I delete
the data and rewrite with some nonsense-content, which will show the same buggy
behavior.

Try to switch to LO 4.2.6.2 - there it will work.

Set this bug as New, regression and the version to the first LO 4.3, because I
could also notice it with LO 4.3.0.0alpha

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83171] New: QUERY EDITOR: Unexpected handling of function-created NULL values from subqueries, GUI syntax error

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83171

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 83171
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: QUERY EDITOR: Unexpected handling of function-created
NULL values from subqueries, GUI syntax error
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: dougt901-2...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 105366
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=105366&action=edit
demonstration document

1a. Create query in Base/HSQLDB that includes function that returns NULL /
EMPTY value for column. This is Query1 in example, using CASE WHEN.

2a. Create second query that uses record set from first query. This is Query2
in example.

3a. Enter criteria "IS EMPTY" in Query2, for the field where Query1 returned a
function-created NULL / EMPTY value. Or, in demonstration document open Query2
for editing.

FIRST UNEXPECTED RESULT: Syntax error.

Can switch into raw SQL view, draft and, execute query, works. However, when
switch back into GUI, continues to return Syntax error (and prevent return to
raw SQL editor without deleting criteria). This is Query2 in example.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: GUI-built query should execute like raw SQL, no syntax
error.

1b. Again make Query1 containing function that returns NULL values, this time
with MySQL back end. For example, IF() statement that returns NULL value for
some. but not all, rows

2b. Create second query to COUNT instances of output from first query. MySQL
is supposed to COUNT non-NULL rows.

SECOND UNEXPECTED RESULT: COUNT function from MySQL counts ALL rows, including
those that are supposed to be returned NULL from the first query's IF()
statement. That is, the function-generated NULL value is being treated as
something else (non-NULL) in second query, unsure what, exactly, Base is
treating the output as. (Because null values only are inferred in Base
interface, no special character displayed)

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: Function-created NULL value from first query should be
treated as NULL value in second query, not counted in MySQL COUNT function.

Encountered LO 4.1.6, LO 4.3.0.4 on OpenSuse13.1 and Windows 7.

Workaround is to use 'views' in native MySQL rather than stacked queries in
Base.

Noted potentially similar Bug 32964 in that title there involved mishandling of
NULL values in queries, but this problem exists in releases subsequent to that
fix.

Robert, I have now removed the mysql-connector, rebooted and tested, and the
problem is still the same. Then I noticed that there was a upgrade for the
libmysql-java so I did another update and retried my garadge.odb but it is
still getting the same errors. To the best of my knowledge the garadge.odb uses
JDBC although it is a long time since I set it up and my database skills are
minimual.
For security reasons I will send you the data base file directly, plus some
others directly.

That is OS X's own Open dialog, and it does not come from LibreOffice, nor is
it translated by our translation teams. Does the bug occur in other OS X apps?

Still crash in LO 4.3.1.1 - Ubuntu 12.04 x86

I forgot to tell, crash reproduced after selecting 'Old manual' worksheet then
scrolling down.

No crash if only selecting 'Old manual' worksheet then selecting back '333b1 -
by function'

So the crash is triggered by scrolling down in 'Old manual' worksheet

:) Ok, I believe I knew what is user profile. I have asked what do YOU mean
"fresh profile".
After your previous comment I have uninstalled LO, renamed /home//.config/libreoffice folder and installed LO again. The 4.3.1.1 build is
not good for real life, it has some issues, but Ok, I will test it more.

Hi Julien, sorry for not making this report clear enough after confirming.

Steps to confirm the issue:
1. Open attach file
2. Find and replace (ctrl+H)
3. Search for: Wilson
4. Click 'Other Options' in the bottom of dialog box
5. We can choose in 'Search direction' either Rows or Columns

Issue: ordering of search result (search direction either rows or columns)
doesn't give any difference as explained in comment 3

Yes it's a minor bug or perhaps an enhancement (since feature of displaying
find all result just introduced in 4.2), no dataloss.. :)

Thanks Matthias for looking into this, but most icons have white 2-pixel

Also as there are only two pieces in the pie chart, i think a 90 degree small

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80448

Well i have Linux Mint on my 2008 desktop and Windows 7 on my 2007 laptop, both
running on the inbuilt intel graphics card which has OpenGL 1.4 support. I dont
know how wide spread this will effect users, but i'd assume any user running a
Windows Vista-era or prior desktop/laptop without a dedicated graphics card
would be effected by this.

This is not just effecting one person as Florian has also confirmed this in
comment 4. It would be good to know what OpenGL version and graphics card
Florian is running to see how likely it is to effect users. It also has to be
taken into consideration that most users are still running 4.1 or 4.2, as 4.3
is only a month old and if they upgraded and things crashed, they would
downgrade.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83169] New: Calc crashes after cells deletions using "Del" & "Backspace" keys

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83169

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 83169
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Calc crashes after cells deletions using "Del" &
"Backspace" keys
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: nom...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

This is a strange bug. Tested with the same file in two formats (.csv) and
(.ods).

"I have a csv file of my Firefox passwords (I use the extension "password
exporter"). The first column display the URL's of the website, the second
column the Log-in ID, the third column the password, etc.

I want to copy & past the URLs, from Calc to the address bar of my web browser,
to check their validity"

How to reproduce the bug:

1. Open the file in Calc
2. Click on a cell containing an URL (Column A)
3. [Important] Select & copy the URL displayed in the "input bar" or "formula
bar"
4. Past the URL in the address bar of the web browser (let's say the URL is not
valid and I want to delete the cells content in Calc.)
5. Return to Calc.
6. Select the complete row or only the cells (URL, id, password, etc.)
7. Press "Del" or press "Backspace" key.
8. Calc crashes randomly after a few deletions (points 2 to 7).

On my system at least: selecting a cell + copying its content on the address
bar + deleting the cell (or deleting the full row) crashes the application.

How to avoid the bug:

3. Copy and past the cell content (vs. copy and past the "input bar" content).

Hi Cor,

Yes the ranking of 6th place means that its the sixth most added element into a
document. Here is the ranking of inserted elements and their main place of
activation.

1) Table (84% from toolbar)
2) Image (86% from menu)
3) Symbol (95% from menu)
4) Insert Break (99% from keyboard)
5) Line (99% from toolbar)
6) Insert Footnote/Endnote (98% from menu)

Most documents of any kind will footnotes in it, including books, guides,
reports, wiki pages, etc. It is the number 1 used reference/cross-linking
element.

For the sake of clarity, this problem is documented in bug 82288. The missing
package (core05) only affects certain tools (e.g., beanshell, javascript,
mediawiki, nlpsolver, report builder, etc.) that are not likely related to the
problem reported here of embedded images being dropped from a presentation.

It was possible in v3.x and up to v4.1.6.2 to edit the CSV filter settings,
delete the field delimiter and have the file export without these characters.
Sometime during v4.2 this behaviour has changed and now the field delimiters
are exported regardless. Confirmed. Status set to NEW. Platform set to All/All.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83121] BASE QUERY EDITOR: silently changes one-to-many relationships in complex query, impossible to set reliable outer join relationships

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83121

Yes, in direct SQL mode Query1 actually very simple, should be all LEFT JOINS
from the leftmost table. Although there are a lot of joins, it is a real-world
query structure (not real-world data) that displays the descriptions of table
values, which otherwise simply are stored as keys.

When I attempted to switch to direct SQL mode, every time tried to view back in
GUI the relationships became corrupted again, so bug impacts reliability in all
circumstances.

Confirmed the GUI nit, that is understandable and focus of bug report is
raising of error in raw SQL outside GUI. Reconfirmed that adding options
DISTINCT or SEPARATOR (with string) on my system raises nondescript Syntax
Error in SQL Statement, SQL Status: HY000, Error Code: 1000, and the usual
complaint about syntax. Using MariaDB rather than MySQL (drop-in substitute).
Copy-paste same command to Heidi/command line, runs fine. Same GROUP_CONCAT
phrase runs fine after removing those options.

My system Win7 32/LO 4.3.0.4/MariaDB 5.5.5/10.0.13 both JDBC and Native

Does this also say how often people use it?
I'm highly surprised that Insert > Footnote would be so often used.

A little misunderstanding.

Point 7 describes a 2 pixel spacing to the boundaries of the icon. This has
nothing to do with the drawing inside, it is simple a 2px frame around the
icon. ;-)

What are you thinking about a cake with the pie without this unnecessary white
line between them?

See the two icons, which I'm uploaded.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78703] SLIDESHOW: fading slide transitions start with a white 'flash'

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78703

I know next to nothing about GL, but I ran the same test above using qapitrace,
a graphical front-end to GL API tracing. qapitrace shows each of the API calls
in sequence, and in frame number 2 (which is the third frame), it is showing
the frame turning white after this API call:

glDrawArrays(GL_TRIANGLES, 0, 6)

It's probably also important to note that because of different screen and slide
aspect ratios, the display puts vertical black bars on either side of the slide
to fill the screen, and the white screen has those black bars on either side.
So it looks as though something really did intend to show an all-white slide.

Here is a list of some of the API calls before that glDrawArrays() (from
'apitrace dump'):

348 glPushMatrix()
349 glDisable(cap = GL_DEPTH_TEST)
350 glBindTexture(target = GL_TEXTURE_2D, texture = 1)
351 glPushMatrix()
352 glScaled(x = 0.8989751098096632, y = 1, z = 1)
353 glEnableClientState(array = GL_VERTEX_ARRAY)
354 glEnableClientState(array = GL_NORMAL_ARRAY)
355 glEnableClientState(array = GL_TEXTURE_COORD_ARRAY)
356 glTexCoordPointer(size = 2, type = GL_DOUBLE, stride = 0, pointer =
blob(96))
357 glNormalPointer(type = GL_DOUBLE, stride = 0, pointer = blob(144))
358 glVertexPointer(size = 3, type = GL_DOUBLE, stride = 0, pointer =
blob(144))
359 glDrawArrays(mode = GL_TRIANGLES, first = 0, count = 6)

I'll keep the trace around. Its over 2MiB so I'm not sure if it can be
uploaded.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83162] New: DATALOSS: serie name not retained if another field is filled before pressing "ok"

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83162

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 83162
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: DATALOSS: serie name not retained if another field is
filled before pressing "ok"
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: bruno.bi...@cegepsherbrooke.qc.ca
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.0.4 release
 Component: Chart
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 105353
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=105353&action=edit
expected bahavior of the dialog box (datarange series name)

To reproduce:

1) Create a simple XY chart a single series.
2) Edit the chart, then menu: Format/datarange
3) In this dialog box, press "add" to create a new series. Then enter a name
for the new series.
4) Now select the cells for X and Y.
5) Press ok to quit the dialog box.
6) Return in Format/datarange. You will see that the X and Y cells for the new
series are retained but not the series name.

Workaround: you have to *end* the serie name (press ok just after) and it will
be retained.

In LO4.2, the name was "captured" instantly (even if ok was not pressed, see
screen capture). However, the name was lost file was saved and reopened. In
LO4.3, now the series name is now correctly saved, but the user interface
should still memorize (capture) the name before we press "ok".

So this is a follow-up of bug 64722.

On pc Debian x86-64 with LO Debian package 4.2.6, it seems ok.

Could you give a try to a newer LO version?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 78703] SLIDESHOW: fading slide transitions start with a white 'flash'

2014-08-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=78703

Further information: I ran 'apitrace trace /usr/bin/loffice' and showed a
couple slides that flash during transition. It produced a ~/soffice.bin.trace
(rather than loffice.bin.trace ? ). I then ran 'glretrace -s /tmp/frame
~/soffice.bin.trace' which produced little PNG thumbnails of all the frames as
it's fading in the slide.

The third frame in the sequence is all white. The two before it look all black.
The one after it is a dark rendition of the slide.
