It is not possible to backport libvisio-0.1.0 to 4.2--it would have to be a backport of the single commit that fixed the problem (I assume that would not be hard, but I might be mistaken.) Moreover it shows up withing LibreOffice's print dialogues as it actually shows the extra pages in the page count! For example, if I was printing something that should take 10 pages, the print dialogue will show it taking 19 pages. Things get worse when colour is involved, as all pages except the first have the colours messed up. The only workaround is to select records so that only one page of forms prints at a time. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67464] Request for built-in EPS rendering ...
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67464 --- Comment #15 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- (In reply to comment #14) Xpost has a number of licensing advantages; the alternative - having to have another out-of-process converter that is shipped only in some configurations is really not ideal IMHO no matter how nice the fidelity. Didn't mean to suggest that we had to go with xpost, ghostscript is very much a functional resource, xpost is appealing as an alternative, especially if it could be built and bundled for all OSs. The project logo simply made a good EPS example. If filtering EPS to convert it to SVG--the dvisvgm utility does it in one step, but has several dependencies as noted. An alternative, and perhaps more appealing choice would be to use the ghostscript provided tool ps2pdf -dEPSCrop command to take each EPS to PDF, and then use a poppler and cairo wrapper to move from PDF to SVG (or other format). Dave Barton's pdf2svg is a poppler cairo based wrapper to do that conversion. I've used it a bit, and it is much cleaner than passing PDF (or EPS) through inkscape. --ref-- http://www.cityinthesky.co.uk/opensource/pdf2svg/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83360 Priority: medium Bug ID: 83360 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: wrong behaviour for svg:viewBox and svg:d in draw:connector Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: t_d_...@gmx.de Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.3.3 release Component: graphics stack Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 105568 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=105568action=edit example files Draw seems to be incompatible with some values of svg:viewBox and svg:d in the draw:connector element. It seems to assume that all values are thousandths of a centimetre. All other values don't work. I'm working on a converter that creates odg files. While doing that, I've come across the problem, that calligra flow and libre office don't display all files equally, even though they both create odg files. One problem is that when you create a file in calligra flow with a connector that is only connected on one end or not connected at all. These files are not displayed correctly when opened in libre office draw. I've attached a file created with calligra flow with a connector that is not connected on one of its ends (calligra_created.odg). In libre office connections like this always end near the top left corner. I've unpacked a libre office draw file and noticed that is uses thousandths of a centimetre in svg:viewBox and svg:d of draw:connector. Draw seems to rely on that. This can be seen when you devide all values by 10. I deleted the last digit for all numbers. Of course this is not an exact divions but it should be almost the same curve as the values are very big. Then libre office draw diplays the open end of the connection near the top left corner. In calligra flow both files look the same. Created by draw (draw_created_original.odg): draw:connector draw:style-name=gr2 draw:text-style-name=P1 draw:layer=layout svg:x1=9.8cm svg:y1=11.4cm svg:x2=5.829cm svg:y2=20.362cm draw:start-shape=id1 svg:d=M9800 11400v4732h-3971v4230 svg:viewBox=0 0 3972 8963 After removing one digit (draw_created_modified.odg): draw:connector draw:style-name=gr2 draw:text-style-name=P1 draw:layer=layout svg:x1=9.8cm svg:y1=11.4cm svg:x2=5.829cm svg:y2=20.362cm draw:start-shape=id1 svg:d=M980 1140v473h-397v423 svg:viewBox=0 0 397 896 -- This is a big problem for my converter that creates a lot of half-connected connectors and also causes compatibility issues between calligra flow and draw. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83362 Priority: medium Bug ID: 83362 CC: albrecht.muel...@astrail.de Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Blocks: 83071 Summary: UI: Numbering Style window does not show numbering style Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: albrecht.muel...@astrail.de Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.5.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice In the Numbering Style window it is difficult to see how the style looks like and it is easy to inadvertently change the style. To see the problem, press F11 to get the Styles and Formatting window, and press the List Styles button. Right click on some style offered there and choose modify to open the Numbering Style window. Depending on the tab that is shown you will have difficulties to determine what the style will do. Some tabs may show various styles, but it not clear which one is the current style. If you happen to press a cursor key you will see that some style is marked differently. You may not be aware that this action changed the style. The expected behaviour is that this window always clearly shows how the current style looks like. A solution to this problem could be to add a preview part to this window as shown in attachment 105321 of bug 83071. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83364] New: UI: Help information missing in the Outline Numbering tab of Paragraph Style window
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83364 Priority: medium Bug ID: 83364 CC: albrecht.muel...@astrail.de Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Blocks: 83071 Summary: UI: Help information missing in the Outline Numbering tab of Paragraph Style window Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: albrecht.muel...@astrail.de Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.5.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice In the Outline Numbering tab of the Paragraph Style window there a controls to define the outline level and the numbering style of a paragraph. This may not work as expected as there are two different concepts of how the numbering for some paragraph works. Therefore the user may need help information at this point. To see the problem, press F11 to get the Styles and Formatting window, and press the Paragraph Styles button. Right click on some style offered there and choose modify to open the Paragraph Style window. Select the Outline Numbering tab. You will see somethink as shown in attachment 105322 or attachment 105323 of bug 83071. The controls are disabled if the paragraph is some header style that can be changed using the Tools - Outline Numbering window. They are enabled for other paragraph styles. The user may want to change the outline style and is not aware that there is something like the Outline Numbering tool. The only thing he or she sees are disabled controls. So how it is possible to change the outline style. On the other hand the user may want to define a header style. He or she sees the controls enabled, selects the outline level and the numbering style and will notice, that this does not work as expected: The outline level will not match the corresponding level in the list style used for numbering. In both cases the user may try to get help using the help button. What he or she will see is something like attachment 105324 belonging to bug 83071, i.e. no useful information. You may also have a look at bug 62032 to find someone else who fell into this trap. The expected behaviour is that there is useful help information which explains that a) You cannot define Outline Numbering using this window. You have to use the Tools - Outline Numbering window for that purpose. That is why the controls are disabled. b) If you define both an outline level and a list style, these things are independent of each other and serve different purposes. The outline level can be used to include this paragraph style in the table of contents in addition to the standard header styles. The numbering level that is shown at some paragraph is not controlled by the outline level of the paragraph style (specified in the outline level control above) but set for each paragraph individually using the tab key at the beginning of a line. This works the same way for paragraph styles that define some outline level and those that represent body text. There is an important special case you cannot define this way: It is outline numbering. The problem is that all the ingredients to define outline numbering seem to be there, so you can get lost for a long time until you find out that you have to use the Tools - Outline Numbering window to achieve the intended effect. To see the problem, press F11 to get the Styles and Formatting window. There are buttons for Paragraph and List Styles. You may define a list style with some outline numbering (press List Styles button, right click some list style, modify, outline and/or position and options tabs), and use this style in some paragraph style (press Paragraph Styles button, right click some paragraph style, modify, select Outline Numbering tab). You can set there the outline level and the numbering style. Unfortunately in many cases this may not work as intended. The expected behaviour is that you can access the Outline Numbering functionality from the Styles Formatting window.
