[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83125] LO Writer loses/abandons cursor focus in encrypted password window
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83125 --- Comment #5 from MR Zenwiz --- I did some experimenting and the results are variable. I created a new unencrypted document and two encrypted documents. While I had the unencrypted document open, running libreoffice from the command line to open one of the encrypted ones did this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-3x0QT9-7fINzZuTGpsa1VUWHc/edit?usp=sharing Notice that the password window does not have the focus (the blue one has the focus). It did the same thing when I opened the encrypted document from the File->Recent Documents window, but when the screen snapshot came up, the password window grabbed the focus right before the screenshot. Wish I could prove that one. The exact same thing happened when I held the encrypted document open and tried to open the second one with the File->Recent Documents menu, and again the window grabbed the focus before the snapshot took place. But, if I opened the second encrypted document from the command line as before, this is what happened: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-3x0QT9-7fIdzIyb0RCaXp3WGM/edit?usp=sharing If you experiment around a bit with this, you should see the same problem. I will say that it seems to be more prevalent if the command line is either set to run in background ( &) or uses the xdg-open command, which effectively does the same thing. Maybe there's a correlation, though the Files->Recent Documents effect suggests otherwise. I hope that helps. let me know if you need any more information. In 4.3.1 most lowercase Greek letter are gone, among them some of the most important ones. The lowercase sigma, for example, the symbol universally used for standard deviation, is no more. You can add it manually to the catalog, just as you could do with a dozen other lowercase Greek letters missing. This is no real solution, however; if you insert your newly created symbol, e.g. "sigma", when you reopen the formula "sigma" in the code will be automatically turned into "SIGMA" and in the formula output you will have the capital sigma Greek letter instead of the lowercase. Non of this happened before, tough I am not able to tell exactly which release was the first to have this problem. This is a really huge problem: if you write a lot of formulas Libreoffice is basically unusable at present. Moreover, another danger lies in the fact that any old document in which you reopen existing formulas for editing will have them corrupted. Steps to reproduce: 1. open the attached presentation file. the first formula was written with an old well behaving version, and is correct. 2. the second formula was a copy of the first, which was opened with 4.3.2. As you can see the sigma e rho lowercase symbols were turned into capital letter, fully inappropriate here. 3. open the catalog, choose "edit" button and add two "new symbols named "sigma" and "rho". Then n the third formula, which was a copy of the second one, rewriting manually "sigma" and "rho" in lowercase replacing the capital letter codes gives you the correct symbols in the output. BUT: if you edit the formula again, they will automatically be turned into uppercase again! Current behavior: At present it is practically impossible to do any math editing if you make large use of greek letters (i.e. very often) Expected behavior: symbols catalog should take Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.3.1.2 release -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83407] New: First check for updates after installation of new version fails
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83407 Priority: medium Bug ID: 83407 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: First check for updates after installation of new version fails Severity: minor Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: cbkschroe...@yahoo.ca Hardware: x86 (IA32) Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.3.0.4 release Component: Libreoffice Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 105625 --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=105625&action=edit Window capture of the check for updates/version check bug. After the installation of a new version of LibreOffice on a machine --- in this case, 4.3.0.4, though I've seen the bug through many, many previous versions --- checking for updates the very first time fails. Checking for updates subsequently works. I cannot comment on whether this bug arises on fresh installs or not; I don't remember. I am reporting the bug for installs over previous versions. To make the bug appear, install a new version of LibreOffice over an old version, then go to Help>Check for Updates. Instead of version status information in the window which opens up, only %PERCENT% is shown; see window capture attached for more information. This is a minor bug, but it might as well be fixed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83406] New: Redesign LO update process
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83406 Priority: medium Bug ID: 83406 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Redesign LO update process Severity: major Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: f...@akerbeltz.org Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: unspecified Component: Installation Product: LibreOffice The installation process of updates needs redesigned as a matter of urgency so that LO can run some form of auto-update in the background (similar to what Firefox does these days) so end users always are up to date with the latest versions and, more importantly, security updates. Rationale: Most end users are (understandably) lazy and will update their software less often than they should, especially if the process is complicated or time consuming. In the case of LO, it is both. LO is not reliable in terms of carrying over the user settings from one version to the next (for example, it *always* tries to re-install 'English (South Africa)' for some strange reason; in the case of users where the UI locale is not the same as the OS locale, it sometimes will default back to English or the OS locale, not entirely sure which). This is not helpful for mid to low-tech users. Case in point, I have just had to upgrade 5 systems for a small office (as a favour), which had various version ranging from 3.2 to 4.0. I had mentioned the security fix I had noticed but they had never heard of it. When questioned, they pointed out that most software (like Windows or Mozilla) these days has a simple update/upgrade process where user intervention is often no longer necessary beyond restarting. I apologise for not being able to propose a patch or even a technical solution, I'm most active on the localization side and have almost no skills at coding. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This happens in Writer and Calc. I have not tried the other included programs, but would imagine that it happens as well. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Writer 2. Typing anything into the document 3. Open the save dialog 4. Choose any name and Save 5. Program freezes Current behavior: When I try saving a file, no file is written to disk, but the program just freezes. This happens in Writer and Calc. I have not tried the other included programs, but would imagine that it happens as well. Saving works fine if I open an existing document and "Save" it. LibreOffice freezes when I use "Save As" and save under the same filename or a completely different filename. I can "save as" if I save over a different existing Open Document file. Expected behavior: A file is saved after I choose a filename without LibreOffice window freezing I have tried to get a strace with Windbg by following the steps on https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg After I had attached the debugger to soffice.bin and saved a document as a new file, LibreOffice did not freeze and saved the document just fine. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83392] EXPORT: PDF export dialog needs access to options
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83392 Cor Nouws changed: What|Removed |Added CC||c...@nouenoff.nl --- Comment #1 from Cor Nouws --- Hi Jay, (In reply to comment #0) > Many users use the 'Export Directly to PDF' option to export pdfs as its > easily accessible in the toolbar, but once the export dialog appears, they > have no option to customize the export option. When they need those, Alt-F-D Enter (in English version) is their friend. I for myself won't pent time on bringing all that many users need under the few icons, cause people don't seem to need it so much that they use the office product as they should. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82359] Deprecate/Drop gstreamer 0.10 support
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82359 --- Comment #8 from Bryan Quigley --- For keeping gstreamer0.10 on LiveCDs it *could* happen in 6 months (I would say likely in 1 year): Fedora - the only blocker is building pidgin (used by empathy) against gstreamer1 (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=962028) Ubuntu - the pidgin move (used by empathy) (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+bug/1295207) And bluez needs an update (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1162781) For keeping in archives likely looking at 2+ years as their all still 30 or so apps dependent on gst0.10 in Ubuntu Utopic. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71248] Excel VBA: ActiveDocument is not tracking currently selected document
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71248 --- Comment #9 from jl...@mail.com --- In the description, I wrote 'closing the "last opened" spreadsheet causes VBA references to the ActiveWhatever to Basic Runtime Error.' Somewhere along the line, this VBA error part has been fixed (fix sometime earlier, but testing today with Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 1a91abb451806bd93a08953c6a1afdb88995705e). I tried to find the fix commit location with bibisect, but it hasn't been fixed in any of the bibisect series (still an error with "git checkout latest" Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha1+ Build ID: c15927f20d4727c3b8de68497b6949e72f9e6e9e). Now the super-interesting part - EVERYTHING WORKS NOW when the "last" document has been closed. I opened up 4 copies of the test document. At first, the macro in all of them points to the LAST opened document (the reason for the bug report). However, if I close the LAST OPENED document, the ActiveDocument status now PROPERLY switches between the remaining three!!! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
