Reproducible with LO 4.3.1.2 portable under Win7 x86

Still don't have a clue how to repro from scratch with a simpler case.

Ugh. I think that statement (in context) is wrong i.e., the SVG specification
is referenced, but not for these attributes. It is the XSL specification that
ODF references in relation to units of measurement of type Length:

http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/REC-xsl-20011015/slice5.html#section-N8185-Definitions-of-Units-of-Measure

It appears a unit is mandatory, and as JBF indicates these are not altered in
the document simply by changing the unit of measurement in the options.

Mock up

It will be nice if there is an option to

1. hide the title bar of LibreOffice like Mozilla Firefox.

2. add toolbars to the remaining blank space of the menu bar.

3. reduce the horizontal width of the formula bar and place it insame row
along with toolbars.

The above will make more working space for spreadsheets etc. and will be
convenient especially in small screens

> I disagree, changing the measurement unit does not change the values that
> are stored in metric units in the document.

Hmmm. I see what you mean. Because ODF references the SVG specification a 2x2
cm rectangle drawn at offset 2 cm (x) and 2 cm (y) with default 1 cm margins
results in:

That is a problem at the SVG specification level. There is provision in the SVG
specification to use User Units:

http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/REC-SVG11-20030114/coords.html#Units

... however that may require a large change to the manner in which measurement
units are currently handled in LO (and maybe ODF). Even then this feature of
SVG may not be sufficient.

It would be good if there was a way (for example) to create a scale drawing
using metric and send it to someone using imperial and have them see the same
thing. Currently scale drawing interoperability is difficult across locales
with differing measurement units.

Office Open XML Spreadsheet
(.xlsx)を使った方が効果的だと思います。

(Summary in English)

When a formula such as =VLOOKUP(B1,$C$1:$D$983040,2) is saved as an old style
.xls (not .xlsx) and reloaded, the target is corrupted to $C$1:$D$983040

Reproduced on OSX 10.9.4/LO 4.3.1.2

Steps to reproduce:
1. In cell A1 of a new spreadsheet, enter the formula
=VLOOKUP(B1,$C$1:$D$1048576,2)
2. Save the file as .xls (Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP/2003)
3. Close and reopen the file, and check the target range of the VLOOKUP

Excel shows the correct result when opening such a file, and has no problem
saving/reloading it itself, so this is probably an issue in the import filter
for .xls.
The fact that 983040=1048576-65536 is probably relevant.

The obvious workaround is to use an .xslx for file interchange when possible.

=VLOOKUP(B781,ページ.$A$1:$B$1048576,2)

=VLOOKUP(B781,A:B,2)
という書き方になりますが、このA:BがCalcへ移ったときに、
=VLOOKUP(C34,$ページ.A$1:B$983040,2)
のように、勝手に数値が入力されていました。

xls形式の保存は保障外だったかもしれませんが、
ひとまず以上を報告させていただきます。
よろしくお願いいたします。

I have the same problem in libreoffice 4.3.0.4. I didn't knew that having the
base component was important for the bibliography database and when I pressed
it libreoffice crashed without any warning. A good fix would be to inform the
user that can't work dew to the missing base component (of course if it can
work without would be even better).

So the bug is either not fixed or it is broken again. Should I reopen this bug

Can't swear it's EXACTLY identical, but substantially identical. No parental
controls. Thanks for the thought, I can try to tweak them to exactly.

Is your antivirus configured exactly with the same parameters on each
PC? For
example did you setup some parental controls on the PCs where downloading does
not work?

2014-09-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81089

I've read the comments on the other thread (bug 81633).
Surely if someone wants the formulas to move with the entries they can include
those columns in the sort range.
If they're not in the sort range then they should stay. In any event I can't
see any logic in the way they move.
And as I do most of my routine changes with macros it is particularly annoying
to have to then make manual changes.
I hope we don't have to wait till next year!

This is exactly what mine does. Although the first 3 columns are sorted the
formula columns shouls stay where they are.
Sorting your attachment (and my Spreadsheet) means all the intermediate totals
are wrong unless you manually copy/drag the formula down the column(s) again.

2014-09-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83859

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 83859
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Name box selection does not support arrow keys on
Linux
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: b...@herbison.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.1.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Steps to reproduce:
* Create or open a spreadsheet with several defined names.
* Click on the arrow key to the right of the Name Box.
* Types some letters to position the name list.
* Press an up or down arrow on the keyboard.

Expected result:
* The up/down arrow key should move the selection up/down one selection.

Actual result:
* With Windows 7 the behavior is as expected.
* With Ubuntu the arrow keys have no effect.

I believe this is a regression, but I'm not positive.

It's not a bug, it means that for some reason Calc imported these numbers as
text. The tick before a number is a mean to force Calc to treat it as text.

To go further we need more informations:
1/ a CSV file
2/ a screencopy showing the csv import dialog when you choose your import
parameters.
3/ the resulting .ods file

Set status to NEEDINFO. Please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have

@Gerry: 256 color rendering with 'gv' has been for ages in the codebase but it

Well this is actually happening on version 4.2.6.3, but you don't have that
option so I chose 4.2.6.2 which is the closest.

Description:
This doesn't make any sense. Calc is prepending tick character ' to the small
numbers. If I open a file in notepad the tick is not there.

Steps to reproduce:
1. have a text csv file with small numbers like 0.0190001477994
2. open it in calc
3. now every number contains ' character like this: '0.0190001477994

And I think this is not limited to csv. It's just that csv can be easily
checked with the text editor.

There is another workaround faster than adjusting column width with the mouse:
instead of pasting as "Formatted text [RTF]", paste as "Unformatted text", then
select the pasted text and go to the menu Table > Convert > Text to Table... >
keep the default parameters and validate.
It works for me (the resulting table has the same width as the text area) even
if there is so many columns that each pasted line is split on 2 lines.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83739] EDITING: AutoText changes font

2014-09-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83739

Jean-Baptiste Faure: Yes, thank you for responding. I still have the same
problem when I do it that way. The difference is doing it that way does not
push me down to the next line (undesired).

In previous versions, choosing "New" (without "text only) produced the problem
of changing the font, but did not force the cursor down to the next line.
Choosing "New (Text Only)" forced the cursor down to the next line, but,
fortunately, did not change the font. I therefore used the latter,
circumventing the forced-to-next line problem by programming Ctrl+H to the same
thing as the backspace key.

Therefore, previously, I was able to (if I did it as in the example) type the
letter K and then hit F3, making my character name typed, but I would be on the
next line, requiring a quick Ctrl+H to get back up where I really wanted to be.

I guess you could call that being forced down undesired to the next line
another bug. Should I file a report for that or is this one sufficient?

So, to recap:

Michael

I have now run a couple of tests, trying to create signed PDFs with three
different certificates:

- Soft certificate ("softtoken"). This was a plain PKCS#12 file imported into
  the Mozilla NSS DB store.
- Advanced certificate ("hardtoken"). This was a plain PKCS#7 certificate on
an RSA token with associated private key on the token. Key usage was
authentication/signing (i.e. no encryption).
- Qualified certificate ("qualified hardtoken"). This was a PKCS#7 certificate
stored in the SigG partition of the same RSA key, together with its private
key.
Both "hardtoken" certificates were visible through the NSS DB, where the token
had been added and the appropriate PKCS#11 library configured (libCVP11 and
libCVP11LCB respectively). This library is used by the NSS DB to communicate
with the RSA token and handles all token commands, prompting for PINs through
own helper programs if necessary, etc. The token works in both Thunderbird and
Mozilla.

The Acrobat version I used was Adobe Reader 9, Version 9.5.5 04/26/2013 on
Linux amd64. It would of course be necessary to verify the attached PDFs in a
newer version on other OSes (Tamas, could you do that on Win, maybe?).

The results already look better than we thought in the beginning, but there
are some errors that might be hard to track down.

Here's what I've found (The build was still 4.4.0.0-alpha0 with debug symbols)

1) Softtoken: The signature operation creates a signed PDF. It remains unclear
though, what the purpose of the "Certificate Password" field in the
certificate selection page is. Since the NSS DB store is already unlocked in a
separate dialog, I don't see any purpose in entering an additional (which??)
password, and leaving it empty made no difference.

The signature can be validated by Adobe Acrobat and any other tool that I got
my hands on! The only point was that Adobe has to have the root CA of the
signing certificate imported and trusted.

So the PDF signature seems to work per se, but the dialog could be improved to
make the options clearer (a help page would also be very useful!)

I created both signed PDF and PDF/A. See files sigtest.pdf and sigtest-a.pdf.

2) Hardtoken: After inserting the token, I first ran the program normally
(i.e. without gdb or valgrind).
The NSS dialog now correctly asked for two token passwords (one for the
internal NSS DB store and one for the token), then all certificates (from
softstore and token) showed up in the list. I selected the "normal"
authentication certificate from the hardtoken, and the signature was made
successfully. It also could be validated in Adobe! See file
sigtest-a-adv-sig.pdf.
Then i tried to repeat the procedure, and got this error on the console (where
I had started soffice.bin), when I clicked the "Select" button on the "Digital
Signatures" tab:

(process:26412): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion
'sys_page_size == 0' failed

The program then stopped responding and froze. It had to be killed.
I tried to reproduce this under valgrind, but unfortunately, it didn't freeze
under valgrind. I've attached the trace nevertheless:
valgrind-trace-4.4.0.0-nocrash-ok-advanced-sig-hardwaretoken-with-dbg.txt

3) Qualified hardtoken: First, without gdb/valgrind. Everything was the same
as above, with the libCVP11 correctly launching an external program
(/usr/local/bin/swisssign-pin-entry via /bin/sh) in order to request the
signature PIN of the SigG partition. After selecting the file to write, the
program crashed again with the output captured in
output-4.4.0.0-crash-qual-sig.txt.

Then the same under valgrind: As before, the program didn't crash and produced
a PDF. But the signature PIN was never asked for (most likely a valgrind
artefact), and the resulting PDF shows to be signed, some non-cryptographic
attributes of the signature (date, comment) are present. But the signature
itself is completely broken and cannot be validated in any program.

Actually, it even crashes most of the programs I've tried to validate it with.
One produced a Java stacktrace, from which I'd guessed that the signature was
not even a valid structure:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: can't decode PKCS7SignedData object at
com.itextpdf.text.pdf.PdfPKCS7. (PdfPKCS7.java:434)

Which makes sense, since the signature PIN was not requested (seems the helper
program segfaulted under valgrind).
Actually, the resulting signature is all zeroes (see lines 285ff. of
sigtest-a-qual-sig.pdf).

Looking at the Signature Properties -> Verification error in Adobe Acrobat, I
get the same (totally inconclusive) message as Tamas did in his original post:

Error during signature verification.
Error encountered while BER decoding:

The output from that is in
valgrind-trace-4.4.0.0-nocrash-broken-qualified-sig-hardwaretoken-with-dbg.txt

So we seem to have different conditions under which LO still crashes when
trying t

Somehow it loads just fine with the new version under linux', but not under

But this file has some other issues too.

- When you load this file and pressing 'F11', the 'styles and formatting'

- Trying to save it, makes the program freeze. Ie. doesn't respond anymore.

Maybe file another report (or 2) for this/these other issue(s).

To make it short and reproduce-able, this issue happens all the time when you
paste from LibreOffice Calc a table with nine or more columns into LibreOffice
Writer using the "Formatted text [RTF]" option. There is no option to resize
the whole table other than what "Jean-Baptiste Faure" suggested. This is very
detrimental from a usability point of view, as there is now way to scroll to
the right to "grab" the right edge of the table, even if you zoom out. This is
not the default behavior on Microsoft Office. In Microsoft office the table
width is set to the maximum width of the paper, which makes a lot more sense,
as the user can then adjust it comfortably. So, no, this is a bug, and not a
helpdesk request. I am grateful to "Jean-Baptiste Faure"'s explanation on how
to deal with this issue, but there will be other users facing the same problem.

This issue supposed to be fixed.
Checkout https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80499
The error should be in the *saving* part, not the loading.
Yes, the file can't be opened, but that's because it's somehow a bit corrupted.

Can you reproduce the bug again, by loading the correct file and saving to a
corrupt one ?

Sure thing, it's an administrative law outline, so there isn't much private
info to be had. By the way, just rechecked after turning off my machine for the
night and I can still reproduce it.

Without test document and a clear step by step scenario to reproduce the
problem, it impossible to reproduce it and to fix the bug if there is one.

Set importance back to standard value until this bug has been confirmed.

Please try again with the current stable version 4.3.1.

Set status to NEEDINFO. Please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have

Reproducible for me with version 4.3.3.0.0+ built at home under Ubuntu 14.04
x86-64.
Already reproducible in Versions: 4.1.6.2 and 4.0.6.2

In fact, selecting a slide in the left preview pane, select the title of the
slide in the outline pane. If you copy and paste to another slide, you change
the title of the second slide by the title of the first slide.

Workaround: duplicate the slide and move the duplicated slide where you want.

I needed several experiments to see that because when you do this manipulation
you are looking at the left preview pane and small changes (like Conclusion
becomes Introduction) are not very visible.

Not sure if we have there a bug, but, for me, this behavior is clearly
sub-optimal and should be improved.

Could be I haven't understand it the right way.

Have created a query with two parameters.
Executed the query and were asked for the fist parameter.
Input the first parameter and type "Enter".
Asked for the second parameter.
Input the second parameter and type "Enter".
Query is executed well.

If there is an error in the query (wrong type of parameter) it will be shown
with a dialog (wrong data-type).

My system: OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm Linux, LO 4.3.2.1

I don't know what the title of this bug should express.

The item has been removed on purpose, see discussion in issue 60858.

For the plain rule you can use the autocorrect options or assign the paragraph
style 'Horizontal Line'. For an image-rule you can use any picture and set its
width and height manually, for example copy the images from the old Gallery to
your new installation.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83853] New: Other: Printing from File>Labels fails without error message

2014-09-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83853

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 83853
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Other: Printing from File>Labels fails without error
message
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: mar...@workersliberty.org
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.6.2 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: Printing from File>Labels produces no output. This is
equally true if the option to print output to file is selected (i.e. it's isn't
a printer problem with us).

There is no error message and the program appears to function normally (e.g. it
prompts for a filename for the output in print-to-file and for a folder into
which to save the output)... only, there's no output.

We have this bug currently on LibreOffice 4.2.6.3 on three different Arch Linux
machines. Printing still works on LibreOffice 4.2.4.2 on a Mac in our office
running OS 10.6.8.

We had this same problem some months back and reported it on the LibreOffice
forums. There was some discussion there, but nothing which helped resolve the
problem. The problem cleared up then as mysteriously as it had appeared.

We hoped that it was fixed by an update in LibreOffice, but evidently not.

This time, the bug first appeared on a machine which the same day, only an hour
or so before, with the same version of LibreOffice, and without any intervening
restart or anything, had printed ok. It would appear not to be a new bug in
4.2.6.3, but maybe a longstanding but erratic bug.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a database in LibreOffice
2. Select File>Labels and use already-existing format for labels
3. Click on New Document
4. Choose print.

Current behavior: As above, everything appears fine except that there is no
output (not even if we select print-to-file).

Expected behavior: To get output.

Operating System: Linux (Other)
Version: 4.2.6.2 release
