Problem description:
On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated 2 days ago, I've got a lot of
warnings during building.
Sometimes it's due to external libs but sometimes it's in LO code (including
help part or translation).
I thought it could help to harden the code if we could reduce the number of
these.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83547] EDITING: Draw crash unexpectedly when editing a drawing

2014-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83547

--- Comment #8 from Robert Gonzalez MX ---
I have updated my OS from Win 8 to Win 8.1 with all the updates relevant, and
repeated the test with file test 2.odg, with the same results. Test 2.odg has
a small image in the right corner of the master layer and some other formatting
figures, it is the same content of the Test Template, but is was not created
from a template.

When moving the rectangle up or down with the arrow keys, keeping the keys
pressed, the image that is in the master layer, disappear, and suddenly Draw
freezes and then crashes.

Then I've tested it in Windows XP with the same results. But, at some point of
the movement of the figure, it begins to perform very slow.

I made another file Test 3.odg, and in the master layer draw a figure, and back
in the normal layer put the same jpg image, and repeated the movement of
another figure, and it seems to work well. Tested it in Win 8.1 and Win Xp.

Additionally I've found that when moving the figure to the very top of the
working area, when the page view is set to fit width, it resets the page view
to the center of the height, leaving the figure selected, but not visible.
Changing the movement down returns the view to the top and when it reaches the
bottom of the working area, the behavior is different, the view stays were the
figure is, as it was before this 4.3.1 release, and this the normal
performance. This doesn't happen when Writer is open, as I found, because I use
it tho check my orthography.

This happens with Test 3.odg and Test 2.odg

2014-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

I don't know if my comment needs a new bug or goes with this one. On Ubuntu
14.04, tested in both LibreOffice 4.2.6 that comes with it and 4.3.1.2 from
ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-4-3, if I export without marking "Selection", I get
part of the image cut off on the bottom and right, replaced with a transparent
strip 30 pixels wide. All default PNG options were used (width 14 inches,
height 8.5, resolution 96, compression 9, interlaced, save transparency). If I
"Select All" and export the selection (default PNG options of width 13.40
inches, height 7.89, otherwise same), I get the entire image.

I look forward to hearing from devs who are interested in making this a

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84127] New: FILESAVE/FILEOPEN arrangement not saved/retained

2014-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 84127

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: porcelain_mo...@vfemail.net
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Often, the arrangement--i.e. layering--of graphics is not stored (correctly) in
an open office writer file. This may also affect Impress files, but I notice
it more in writer.

I have experienced this many times over the years. I have several plots in a
document and with each one I often put a 1/4 size histogram, for example, of
the same plot and place it above the plot overlaping the one corner. No matter
how I set the layering arrangement, *some*, but not all, of the plots show
above the smaller histogram when I open the file at a later time. This happens
repeatedly. Every time I print the document (to PDF, usually) I notice the
error, and I have to check every graphic, reset the arragnement, and re-print.
When I save and close the document and open it again, the arragement is wrong
and must be manually fixed again.

If I copy text from anywhere in this attached document then I can reproduce it.
But if I copy it first to the Windows Editor and then from this Editor to LO
then everything is fine.

Still reproducible with LO 4.3.1.2 (Win 8.1)

Steps Done:
1. Open WRITER
2. Go to INSERT -> FOOTNOTE/ENDNOTE... and press OK
3. Change the font of the footnote (the footnote text itself at the bottom)
4. Go with the mouse cursor to the footnote number (not the one at the bottom,
but the one in the main text)

Result: The footnote tooltip is showing the footnote text, but not with the new
changed font.

I can reproduce only with LO 3.5.
In actual versions of LO - 4.2.6, 4.3.3, 4.4 is broken creating a link to
named ranges:
 LO 3.5
 =VLOOKUP(A1;'file:///tmp/file1.ods'#xrange;1;0)
 formula works
after save and reopen the formula just shows #NAME (even before the update
links dialog is answered). Manually updating the links does nothing. Editing
the cell (this involves actually making a change e.g. deleting the final
bracket and replacing it) makes the formula work again.

 LO 4.2.6 , 4.3.3, 4.4 :
  =VLOOKUP(A1;'file:///tmp/file1.ods'#xrange;1;0)
after press ENTER the formula is changed to
=VLOOKUP(A1;'file:///tmp/file1.ods'#file:///tmp/file1.ods;1;0)

Tested in Linux.

A (Andy) changed:

Still reproducible with LO 4.3.1.2 (Win 8.1)

If you try to type a password longer than 15 characters it doesn't work. This
is user-unfriendly because the user gets no information in the password dialog
box that a password longer than 15 characters is not possible. It is not
mentioned in the note below.
Only if you insert a password longer than 15 characters with copy&paste you get
an information: 'The inserted text exceeded the maximum length of this text
field. The text was truncated.'

I don't think that a maximum password length of 15 characters is useful and at
least the user needs to be informed.
All in all, there should be no length limitation or at least a much longer one.

Comparision of normal vs slideshow views

Jan's fix for Bug 819614 uncovered two move hidden bugs. Bug 75209 and this
one, where the grey gradient bar is not rendered in the slideshow view mode.
It's an insidious bug, as the objects will show in the normal view.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attachment 106028 document in Impress
2. Note the gray box behind the pictures
3. Start the slideshow.

Expect results:
Gray object sows in both views.

Actual results:
Version: 4.3.1.2 - Grey Gradient Rectangle: shown
Version: 4.4 - Grey Gradient: missing

Hi G.

thanks for reporting.
I change the summary from " Help/check for updates says "LibreOffice 4.2 is up
to date" when there is already a version 4.3 out " to " Help/check for updates
gives insufficient information about how is dealt with newer series "

The point is that the policy is that somewhere around x.y.2 or x.y.3 .. the
update for the newer series will be activated. That the Engineering Steering
Committee its discretion.

But the Help could give that information, or point to some url that explains
this. Maybe..

HTH
Best,
Cor

NB If 4.2.5 doesn't inform about the 4.2.6, then that IMO is another problem

If the laptop is connected with the network cable LO always waits 5 seconds
until it starts to save a file. The save process works fast, but the delay is
annoying. Also if he wants to close a file LO waits 2 - 3 seconds until the

The changes made by the Autocorrection option of the Basic IDE in the example

1. Open the attached Writer file and enable macros.

2. Open the Basic IDE

3. Check with Tools / Options … that in the "Basic IDE options" the
Autocorrection (in Code Suggestion) flag is selected

4. Put the cursor at the beginning of any of the lines starting with
a = com.sun.star.sdbc.DataType.

Hallo,

ich möchte hiermit mal eine sehr ärgerliche Fehler melden. In einer CALC
Tabelle sind die Zeilen A1 bis L1 mit der Überschrift gefüllt. Ab der Zelle A2
stehen dann fortlaufend Daten.

Die Spalte A enthält immer ein Datum, der Rest dann Bemerkungen. Diese Werte
werden täglich fortlaufen gepflegt.

Damit die jüngsten Einträge immer am Anfang stehen, wird diese Tabelle sortiert
nach Spalte A, absteigend.

Version: 4.2.6.3

Due to the fact that the text is very long you can't verify this on a normal
screen size by zooming out. You will need to print it for instance as a pdf
and then you can recognize that not all the text is shown. This is also a
similar problem with Excel, but it would be great if you would not have with LO
the same problem as with Excel. I experience this quite often when I insert a

Additional informtion:

*** LibreOffice 4.3.2.2 Mac – Slovene language ***
stores the font name in a way, that is either incompable with the windows
version of LibO or even loses formatting

 .odt
uses a broken name, that contains a combination of the family-name + the number
"1" and the font-adornment "Svetlo", which is the slovene UI-translation for
"Light"

 .rtf
uses only the family-name. when saved and opened again it falls back from light
to regular style, because the style-information is lost

{\f5\fnil\fprq0\fcharset0 Akzidenz-Grotesk Pro;}{\f6\fnil\fprq2\fcharset0
Akzidenz-Grotesk Pro;}

*** LibreOffice 4.3.1.2 Windows – German language ***
uses the full-name

 .odt

*** NeoOffice 3.4.1 – English language ***
using the full-name

 .odt

*** Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac ***
both, DOCX and RTF, are usisng the full-name

 .docx

 .rtf ***
uses the full-name but show also documents using the postscript-name properly:

{\f35\fbidi \fnil\fcharset0\fprq2{\*\panose
0200050604020003}Akzidenz-Grotesk Pro Light;}

*** Apple Pages Pages´09 Version 4.3 (1048) ***
uses the postscript-name

*** Bean Version 3.2.5 ***
uses either the full-name or the postscript-name

 .odt
uses the full-name

 .rtf
although using the postscript-name compatible with Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac,
thus shows also documents using the full-name properly:

{\fonttbl\f0\fnil\fcharset0 AkzidenzGroteskPro-Light;}

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84114] FILESAVE: Error by saving a file

2014-09-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84114

This is for me not reproducible with LO 4.3.1.2 (Win 8.1).

Steps Done:
1. Open IMPRESS
2. Write a wrong typed word in the slide text field
3. Go to TOOLS -> SPELLING and let correct this word
4. Go to FILE -> SAVE AS and save the file (as odp)
5. Reopen this saved file

Result: The correct word is shown.

Therefore, could you please give more information about the different single
steps to reproduce it, if this is not the right procedure to try to reproduce
it.
Otherwise, it could maybe be a Linux only problem?
