[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84646] New: UI improvement: Google Drive check password before accepting it
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84646 Bug ID: 84646 Summary: UI improvement: Google Drive check password before accepting it Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: lukebe...@hotmail.com Currently when setting up a Google Drive connection, in the username and password entry dialog, you can enter an invalid password. To improve the UI, we should: 1) Have better error handling. Currently you are allowed to enter an incorrect password. And later in the process you get a "General input/output error" along with other strange behavior. Instead of this general, non-descriptive error message, we should get an invalid username or password error and the Authentication Required dialog should popup. 2) The Authentication Required dialog should not allow you to "OK" until you have entered a valid password. You should be able to cancel, but if you enter an invalid one and press "OK", it should give you the descriptive error message from 1) "Invalid username or password" and pop back up allowing you to enter the correct credentials. Both these changes should be made together, because if just 2) is implemented, people like me that change their password often will have to deal with the buggy current behavior when the password is incorrect. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46447 --- Comment #143 from Jer --- I was using LO 4.2.6.3 (Build ID: 420m0(Build:3)) on Ubuntu 14.04.1 32-bit (up until Monday 29 Sept when I installed Xubuntu 14.04.1) and encountered that problem constantly. As with others, it did not matter how I put the pictures in (Insert; Copy/Paste; Drag/Drop) eventually some of them would disappear. I always 'fixed' it by right-clicking on the empty image box and clicking "Change picture" and basically re-assigning it. This would often cause other pictures in the presentation to disappear. I started encountering another issue with the Slide Pane not being visible but I don't know if that issue belongs here. Since I just reformatted and they weren't working anyway I do not have a sample doc to post but for now I will stick with Google Drive. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: (1) First, create a number range variable: Insert > Cross-reference... > Variables > Number range > Illustration > Insert (2) Second, create a cross-reference to this variable: Insert > Cross-reference... > Cross-references > Illustration > Numbering > Insert (3) Save as docx. RESULTS: The cross-reference is not converted correctly to text format in the .docx document. It doesn't show the content of the field, but the type of the variable instead.
