[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82318] Form editing repositioning of screen, away from control being edited
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82318 --- Comment #7 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk --- (In reply to Doug from comment #6) The ability to type into the background of the data access form ... not seeing why that would be useful. Unexpected that invisible, vestigial background carriage returns would have that effect, partly because from an Access background it is not intuitive that background would have attributes of Writer document, because purpose is quite different. I mean, in light of this feature I would think every form should just have a line of carriage returns down the side as a default not seeing why it would make sense to require people to add that just to make form work correctly. The framework for database forms dating back to the origins of OpenOffice.org was always based on Writer (the ability to use spreadsheets was only introduced later). In case you hadn't noticed, form controls can be anchored, not only to the page as a whole, but alternatively to a given paragraph, to a character, or as a character. This, if I am to understand your reference to Access, actually offers more flexibility for the form developer than Access allows. The point being that Writer allows for form creation independently of any underlying or bound datasource, the fact that one can build database forms on top of the Writer model/view/controller paradigm is an added bonus. I would point out that Base is not Access, nor has it ever pretended to be, and in all likelihood never will be Access, so there are things that are just different. If you feel that any given behaviour can be improved upon, then by all means, please contribute code. Unfortunately, I have no such skills, but I have been using Base in its various forms for nearly 20 years now, and have become aware of its shortcomings and failings. My point here is that LibreOffice Base will only be what its volunteers make it be. Obviously, where coding is concerned, that requires a certain skill set, and the Base module in particular has very few volunteer developers (and none paid) to work on it, so naturally, new developments tend to be limited to suumer of code projects, and people with itches to scratch. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85206 Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |WORKSFORME --- Comment #9 from Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl --- So let me explain with a few more words, Donovan. When Autocorrection is activated, it starts for example numbering / bullets when you type at a new paragraph e.g. * apple or 12.00 pause and then Enter. In your case: if there is a paragraph with numbering, enter always continues that, independent from Autocorrection being activated or not. In this example typing Enter again, will remove the numbering from that paragraph. (And note that it looks as if in your example Edit Changes Record is on, which makes it more complicated ) Hope this helps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84914] Too much RAM used because of SVG page background
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84914 --- Comment #6 from Darius Daniel Grigoras daniel.grigo...@movidius.com --- I've just noticed that one doesn't need to work with a 2000-page master documnet to encounter this problem. I have been working recently with a 150 page sub-document and encountered the same problem. In other words, scrolling down a document with and SVG background, in a rather constant manner, in order to check it for issues makes LibreOffice eat more and more memory (despite me having 16 GB of RAM) until the system crashes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83171] QUERY EDITOR: Unexpected handling of function-created NULL values from subqueries, GUI syntax error
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83171 Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever confirmed|0 |1 Severity|minor |enhancement --- Comment #5 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk --- (In reply to Doug from comment #4) Using views instead of queries seems to be a best practice on the user's end, making pseusdo-tables available on the back-end and for the reasons you describe. If you were coding LO from scratch, seems natural that nearly all queries would be 'views'. LO 'view' support already seems mature; swapping in user support would involve largely aesthetic changes. You could classify that as an enhancement request, and it is so natural that I'll bet it already is on a list somewhere. So let's set this as rfe, but am not entirely convinced that the largely aesthetic changes you refer to are as easy to implement as you think, that would depend on a dev's evaluation, and not my place to say. If the request is already present in the system someone will mark this as duplicate. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83122 --- Comment #6 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk --- The LO built-in SQL parser can unfortunately not reasonably be expected to understand every sql dialect and function set of every existing database implementation, hence the possibility to pass the instruction directly to the backend. There is also the real possibility that connector driver code over/under-states what it is truly capable of, and then expect LO to be able to deal with any inconsistencies, which IMO is unreasonable. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85282 --- Comment #2 from Laurent BP jumbo4...@yahoo.fr --- (In reply to Cor Nouws from comment #1) Hi Laurent, (In reply to Laurent BP from comment #0) Bug NOT reproduced with: - LibO 4.1.6.2 Nor with 4.3.3 release candidate 1 :) I do reproduce, as other on fr-qa list, with many versions as indicated. I will ask other to report with their versions. My tests were made with SI-GUI, so with new profiles. All tests were however made on Windows OS. That could make a difference? And note that the 4.2 series is at 4.2.7.x currently. SO filing a bug against 4.2.0.4 makes little sense? The bug is still present in master, so it makes sense for me to report it. The version should reflect the earliest version where the bug is present, or am I wrong? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
