2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85428

Bug ID: 85428
Summary: Imported PDF displays extra-long lines for shaded area
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Drawing
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: qu...@runcibility.com

Importing PDF version of UW campus map into Draw results in shaded areas to
render lines too long.

Original: https://www.washington.edu/static/media/campus-and-vicinity.pdf

Affected parts of the map are the "Construction Area" regions, both on the map
and in the map's legend.

Tested with LO 4.3.2.2 and 4.4.0.0.alpha1 on Ubuntu 14.04.

Map displays correctly in Firefox 33.0 and Evince 3.10.3.

Here are the original files. BTW, I noticed also some glitches when navigating
letters. For example, I can't navigate to the start of the second line, and
would need to advance to three of four letters in case I want to delete the
first letter in the second line. I think this is logical vs visual issue.

Indeed, whatever the choice made for the Calc configuration option "Update
references when sorting range of cells", sorting gives the same result and it
is different from the result given by LO 4.2.6.3, 4.1.6 and 4.0.6.

This case is similar to the case of bug 81633 and bug 85215 (attachment 108255)
but it is different because in your case the configuration option seems to have
no action.

Problem reproduced with
Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 1df0656c4bb139606081625fb19e39fbef9f8890
and
Version: 4.3.4.0.0+

do some vlookup or filtering commands the file crashes.

This is a major concern for us since we deal with lot of hige files.

Hi Stuart,

Having a button in the templates dialog is not the same as being able to browse
through the online templates with LibO.

What i was thinking is that we can add a 4th folder listed within the template
start center and dialog called 'Online Templates' and once you click on it, it
queries the template website for screenshots and make it easy to download and
add selected templates to 'My Templates'.

Thanks, Andy.

Just earlier today learned about the decimal limiter preference option, but I'm
hesitant to use it. Guess I could set it to four decimals (rather than two) as
3-4 that is the max I typically use.

Still think though that the exhibited behavior of going from 4,5,6 decimals
shown to 10 and then down one at a time, is not the proper or expected
behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85424] New: The execution of a little macro produces a LibreOffice crash

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85424

Bug ID: 85424
Summary: The execution of a little macro produces a LibreOffice
crash
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.6.3 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: oswald@free.fr

Created attachment 108374
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=108374&action=edit
gdb backtrace / strace.log / hs_err_pid.log / +2 files in order to reproduce
the crash

LibreOffice Version: 4.2.6.3
Build ID: 420m0(Build:3)
Ubuntu 14.04

The crash is easily reproductible.
In the attached files, you find the code of the macro.
Its execution leads to a crash on almost ( but not all ) documents.
I also include the document with which I got the backtrace and the strace log
files.

Template manager dialog button to launch browser and get more templates

@Jay, *,

We sort of do already.

Start Center --> Templates --> Edit Templates which launches the Template
Manager dialog. And on the Template Manager the "Get more templates for
LibreOffice" button as highlighted in the clip.

Launches a web browser session and allows user to search select and download a
template into their own cache of templates.

Rather than cluttering the Start Center -- I think having it delivered from a
web browser interface is more efficient and cleaner.

Placement and labeling on the Template Manager might be improved though to
make it more obvious.

Stuart

1. I renamed the user-profile directory in Windows
2. then installed LO 4.3.2.2. from LO Homepage
3. installed step by step the extensions, including XRay-Tool.
4. in each step I opened the example odb and tried to edit the macro

no problem, no bug. It works well, have a look at comment 3.

Only LO 4.3.0.x will crash immediately by editing macros. As far as I'm
concerned, we can close this one.

Hi Brad, new bug report should have UNCONFIRMED status. Someone else will mark
NEW if same problem confirmed.

Not sure why you had ODF Version set to 1.0/1.1 or 1.2, while the default is
1.2 Extended (recommended) ?

You're using an old and unsupported release (3.5 branch). Please try again
using latest stable release from Ubuntu PPA:
- 4.3 branch:
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/libreoffice-4-3
- 4.2 branch:
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/libreoffice-4-2

Then please change status back to UNCONFIRMED after posting result

Yes a fully thought out plan would be the way to go, just like i did for the

Please read this message in its entirety before responding.

Your bug was confirmed at least 1 year ago and has not had any activity on it
for over a year. Your bug is still set to NEW which means that it is open and
confirmed. It would be nice to have the bug confirmed on a newer version than
the version reported in the original report to know that the bug is still
present -- sometimes a bug is inadvertently fixed over time and just never
closed.

If you have time please do the following:
1) Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of
LibreOffice (preferably 4.2 or newer).
2) If it is present please leave a comment telling us what version of
LibreOffice and your operating system.
3) If it is NOT present please set the bug to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a
short comment telling us your version and Operating System

Please DO NOT
1) Update the version field
2) Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
3) Set the bug to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that
is not appropriate in this case)

LibreOffice is powered by a team of volunteers, every bug is confirmed
(triaged) by human beings who mostly give their time for free. We invite you to
join our triaging by checking out this link:

There are also other ways to get involved including with marketing, UX,
documentation, and of course developing -

Lastly, good bug reports help tremendously in making the process go smoother,
please always provide reproducible steps (even if it seems easy) and attach any

If I type it as described in the bug report then I get also "2". But I think
this is a mistake in the formula, because there are brackets missing:
As per LO help the correct formula would be: =SUM((A1:A3<14)*B1:B3)
Then I get as a result "5".

Would you agree resp. can you confirm this?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85409] New: Transparent background of Frame prints as white, covering background images

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85409

Bug ID: 85409
Summary: Transparent background of Frame prints as white,
covering background images
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pa...@landau.ws

Created attachment 108358
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=108358&action=edit
Sample document with transparent frame, and resulting PDF.

A frame with a transparent background prints with a white background, covering
the images and text underneath it.

This previously worked correctly at least until 16 June 2014 (I know because of
files that I created and printed then), but has been erroneous since at least
16 August 2014, if not before.

How to duplicate:

1. Create a Writer document containing an image and other items.
2. Create a frame to overlay the items. The wrap will need to be set to
"Through".
3. Add text to the frame.
4. Make the frame's background transparent: either "White" with 100%
transparency, or "No Fill".
5. Print the document, to either paper or PDF.

What happens:

* The frame has a white background, hiding the underlying image and other
items.

What should happen:

* The frame's background should be invisible, with only its text being printed,
and the underlying items visible.

Attached: Sample document containing an image, some text, and a rectangle, with
a transparent frame containing text and partially covering them. Also the
resulting PDF.

> original")

Let me correct myself. 'Merge Documents' and 'Protect Records' (this needs to
be renamed) are not related to 'Track Changes' but are related to 'Changes'.
According to ( https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Merge_Document ), merge
document "Imports changes made to copies of the same document into the original
document."

> Still, I need to chew longer ;)
> "Accept or Reject" is handling changes, not the same as tracking them..

Well 'Next Change' and 'Previous Change' is also part of handling changes.

> Is there some compelling reason that you come to this idea?

With change related items having their own separate section in the edit menu,
it is worth bringing the non-track change items out of the submenu and into the
main menu. This would look something like this.

- separator -
Protect Document
Track Changes >
 [...]
Merge Document
Compare Document
- separator -

Separate from this reason, other word processors use the word 'Track Changes'
in their menus. MS Word 2003 and WPS Writer have it in the Tools menu, while
iWork Pages has it in the Edit menu. So i think its a good idea to make it
easier for migrating users to find this specific wording in our menus.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85322

I am not sure if we are speaking about the same thing. I try to reword:
What I mean is that when I select the merged cells and place the mouse pointer
on the black small square in the bottom right corner, the mouse pointer becomes
a +, and, normally, if I hold down the left button of the mouse, I can drag
downwards and the effect of this movement is to fill the cells below with its
updated contents.
What I say, is that, when I try to do that with a merged cell (like A1:C1 in
your description), it does not work, it does nothing. Is it the same for you ?
It works if I first drag right (to D1) then below.

Best regards. JBF

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 31202] Can't delete Images from Slide Mask - Impress

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31202

Lastly, good bug reports help tremendously in making the process go smoother,
please always provide reproducible steps (even if it seems easy) and attach any
and all relevant material

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85413] New: Bad position of comments in a copied sheet

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85413

Bug ID: 85413
Summary: Bad position of comments in a copied sheet
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Chart
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: soueipa...@gmail.com

Created attachment 108362
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=108362&action=edit
one sheet with comments inserted properly and another sheet with comments
shifted from their original position.

Problem description:
When we copy a sheet with comments to an other sheet, comments shift from their
original position

Steps to reproduce:
1. insert and show comments in any cells
2. Move/copy sheet

Current behavior:
Comments in copied sheet are not placed at the same position than the comments
placed in original sheet

Expected behavior:
Position of comments must be the same in the original sheet than in the copied
sheet.

Awesome! Setting as WORKSFORME as 4.2 is EOL (or quickly approaching it).

This looks like an out-of-bound access in a std::vector, like e.g. accessing
the 5th element when there are only 3 elements.

Yes, I confirm. Seems to be a similar problem
This description looks close to mine.

Just updated to 4.3.2.2. The problem still persists.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84854] Calc issues with screen drawing(all Windows and 32-bit Linux)

2014-10-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84854

@Beluga, *,
(In reply to Beluga from comment #58)
> I believe the issues with buttons and charts being invisible are related to
> this screen drawing issue.

As you'd mentioned during yesterdays QA IRC meeting.

Yes I'd agree it is likely that screen painting issues caused by this
regression are impacting import filters for both the XLS and OOXML spreadsheets
referenced.

On Windows 7 sp1 64-bit en-US with
Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 9ecac3874d179b1d7aa6b45337001b1def06a9dd
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2014-10-22_06:32:56

Likely a manifestation of the drawing issues, the buttons do render, at
grotesque size (still absent their diacritics on the text labels) when zoom is
set to 65%. Likewise the chart is present (with legend items incorrect) but
also far oversize. As if they can't identify an anchor and a scaling factor for
placement.
