[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85420] START CENTER: Integrate online template website into start center
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85420 --- Comment #9 from V Stuart Foote --- Frankly the existing template and extension hosting is horrible. As are most of the out of date template content posted as projects to the site. In its current state, I'm not convinced it makes any sense to invest more design or development effort for Start Center than the existing simple web link in the Template Manager dialog. Admittedly, making it a core function of the Start Center would draw more attention to it. But the data infrastructure and design of the hosting would need to be improved before we could reliably parse it for viable content. I think before we get too wrapped up in this as an enhancement to Start Center implementation, there needs to be agreement on the direction and support of the role the project wants to fill in governance and hosting of templates. What exists is clearly inadequate in quality and quantity to make it a feature of the GUI. -=ref=- http://templates.libreoffice.org/template-center -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85750 Bug ID: 85750 Summary: EDITING Custom Animation timeing does not retain settings Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.6.3 release Hardware: x86 (IA32) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Presentation Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: gregor.shap...@gmail.com Problem description: Motion paths do not repeat Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Impress 2. Create an object (e.g. a rectangle), with the object selected: 3. From the objects context menu or the "Slide Show" menu choose "Custom Animation" 4. Click the [+] to add an effect 5. Choose the "Motion paths" tab 6. Select a motion patn (I tried both "Arc Down" and "Freeform") 6a. If "Freeform", draw the path 7. Select the [...] button and the "Timing" tab of the effects properties (or right-click the motion path item in the Custom Animation pane and choose "Timing") 8. Choose a number in the "Repeat dropdown list" (I tried 2, 3, and "Until next click) 9. Click OK 10 Reopen the "Timing" tab of the custom animation effect. Current behavior: The "Repeat" 3 has reverted to "none" "Until next click" remains but the slide progresses to the next slide (or the slideshow ends if it is the last slide) Expected behavior: The "Repeat" has remained as set and when tested (the slideshow run) the effect will repeat the number of times set. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

What’s the exact element you can’t get rid of for > your language, and how does it affect your workflow? Screenshots are helpful. As far as I know every language use different system for word break. In LibreOffice we don't have an option to set the word breaking character. I am from Kerala a state in India. My mother tongue is Malayalam. Even in Malayalam people follow different standards to represent word break. In traditional system we don't have any hyphenation character to represent word break. So the proof readers who follow the traditional system wont allow the hyphenation characters. So people have to use Shift+Enter to avoid the situation. So is there a reason why this > behaviour of clicking outside of the central button is made to work in this > fashion? I think that is a bug... there's a lot of time where I want to move the scrollbar and if I'm not very accurate with the mouse I accidentally hit the sidebar causing it to pop out. IMHO the sidebar should be opened only by clicking on the small dots sensible area. being sensible to clicks above and below it and with a different behaviour can cause confusion for user in different scenarios... either for those who truly wanted to expand the sidebar (but clicked a few pixels higher or lower) and see it auto-hide when going back to the document (Jay's case) or those (like me) who just wanted to click the scrollbar (but clicked a few pixels right) and see unwanted appearance of the sidebar. let's consider opening a clean new report about the real issue which is that sidebar can be expanded even clicking outside it's pop-up button -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Yes it would be more practical to use all unique icons, but see the likelihood of the floppy icon appearing on a user's OS and LO's toolbar being very slim, that wouldnt warrant us having to change the icon. I see that as long as LO doesnt use the same icon twice to mean two different things, we use the icon to represent what we want in the app. > > I think the blue fits in better than the purple if you see the icons in the > > standard and formatting toolbars. Yes i can see how the unique purple color could be associated exclusively with saving, but as no purple floppy disks were created, having an object in a color it is never know to be colored in doesnt work that well. > > About it looking outdated, with icons at > > 16x16 and 24x24, users can barely see the level of detail being put into > > these svg icons which result in them looking blurry and unclear, so the > > simpler the design, the easier it is for users to see. That's why there's symbolic/Sifr. They had designed these icons at 5 different icon sizes knowing that users would be having various screen resolutions that these icons can be shown. But as LO only has 16x16 and 24x24, these icons do look small and sometimes unclear on most screen available these days. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85747 --- Comment #3 from A (Andy) --- Thanks Maxim. It could really be linked to bug 68806. If I go to FORMAT -> PARAGRAPH -> tab INDENTS & SPACING then I see there 5.0 pt and now I know where Jay had the 5.0 pt. But why do I have a difference with 10 pt in the Sidebar if I change the Measurement Unit? If I take the attachment from bug 68806 then I have there in the Sidebar again 10 pt after changing to Centimetre and back to Point which is also not the same as in FORMAT -> PARAGRAPH. That is really weird. Maybe there are two buggy issues? One regarding differences in the Sidebar and in FORMAT -> PARAGRAPH. And one regarding differences after changing the measurement units. To come to the next cell you need to press the Tab key or use the mouse and this works for me a expected. But is there maybe only a misunderstanding? Does it really work for you to get to the next cell by using the Enter key? Or are you only entering text in the next line which is not visible until you enlarge the table? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 85693] TANGO: Save and save as icons
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=85693 --- Comment #12 from Mirek2 --- (In reply to Jay Philips from comment #11) > (In reply to Mirek2 from comment #10) > > > Was there a reason why you didnt use the icon directly, as most of the > > > gnome > > > tango icons were taken as is, and the black floppy is quite nice and is an > > > actual color of a real floppy. > > > > The intention was to have something that looks distinct from the Gnome > > floppy icon. I dont see the problem in this as most > of libreoffice's users are not gnome users and most computers these days > dont have floppy drives, so most people wouldnt see a floppy icon in gnome > as well. Gnome icons are used well beyond Gnome, so not just Gnome users would be affected. Even if floppy disks aren't generally used, it's simply good practice to not reuse the same icon for different meanings. You never know where the floppy icon might pop up -- e.g. it could be used as part of a generic "removable devices" icon, and there it really should be clear that it's meant to represent a floppy, that it's not an icon meaning "save to a device". > > > Also was there a reason for not keeping the > > > original tango floppy, as i still find it clearer to see than the gnome > > > black floppy. > > > > It doesn't fit in with the new icon set (and it looks outdated). > > I think the blue fits in better than the purple if you see the icons in the > standard and formatting toolbars. You have blue in quite a number of icons, > while you have no purple in any. We could make it blue. The overuse of blue was why I chose purple, though. If we're going to have colored icons, it's useful to associate those colors with something -- that speeds the user up! Right now, black stands for text or lines, blue for selection, highlight, or shape, orange for transformations (moving, resizing, rotating, etc.), red for help or error, yellow for comments and highlighting, etc. Purple is underused, and it could be associated with saving. > About it looking outdated, with icons at > 16x16 and 24x24, users can barely see the level of detail being put into > these svg icons which result in them looking blurry and unclear, so the > simpler the design, the easier it is for users to see. This is one of the > problems i see plaguing the gnome tango icons at such small icon sizes. > > https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/attachments/download/325/ > tango%20formatting.png > These icons were designed for these icon sizes, and by people who had years of experience designing icons. (In fact, some of the very people who worked on the original base Tango set.) The level of detail is just right as far as Tango icons go -- that is, these icons have to work on both dark and light backgrounds, have the prescribed lighting and shadows, and so on, and that makes them a bit complex. That's why there's symbolic/Sifr. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Then, on the left part of the view > table, I right click and select Copy. Next, I go in Calc and paste in the > destination cell. > > Hope that it will help you to reproduce the error. Well, to be honest that didn't help me understand the process, although I now managed to get the same result as you. First, I thought that I had to use the Create view functionality. In the View design I was quite lost. I could run a query to display the floating point numbers I had created, but I could not copy multiple cells at once. Then I went back to the Table Data View and there I realized I could highlight all the data by using shift-click on the grey boxes on the left side of the data, where the green triangle appears. Now when I right-clicked a grey box, I could copy all of the data. If right-clicking a cell, it only copied the contents of the cell, which is frankly quite unintuitive when having a multi-selection. When I pasted the data to calc, the format was indeed changed to ###.## and Format Cells didn't change it to ###,## no matter how hard I tried, even though the whole time it said Format code is 0,00.
