Bug ID: 87737
Summary: EDITING: Date-parameter in queries don't work in
UI-language, if parameter is only in subquery
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Try input date in the parameter for both queries. One works in GUI-language,
the other doesn't.

Open the attached database.
Open the query "Saldo_Kategorie".
You are asked for 'qDatum'.
Write a date and finish.
The query would be executed.

Open the query "Saldo_Konto".
You are asked for 'qDatum'.
Write a date and finish.
The query would only be executed, if you will format the date right to the
SQL-standard, something like '2014-12-26'.

The difference between the two queries:
"Saldo_Kategorie" asks for the parameter in the condition of the query:
...FROM "Kasse" AS "a" WHERE "Datum" <= :qDatum AND "Umbuch_Konto_ID" IS NULL
The parameter is also askes for in subqueries, but it works well.
"Saldo_Konto" asks for the parameter only in subqueries and fails wirth
GUI-language, works only with SQL-well-formatted date.

Both queries work right in a form. The date in a form will be transported in
SQL-format.

My system: OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm Linux, different LO-versions, also 4.4.0.1
rc

prevents readily narrowing it down to a single commit, but the bug does seem to

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Example

Hi. Please open attached file. This created my me using LibreOffice. It contain
same statement repeated in 4 Arabic fonts numbered from 1 to 4. Each font
included same statement in 2 sizes except 4th which in 3 sizes.
Issue is old since version 3 when I 1st met LibreOffice & was very sever & led
me to not use program. Since version 4.3.0 it became less so I started to use
software really. However issue still exists but less sever.
With Arabic characters, at certain font size - deffer according to type of
font - there will appear a tag or dot at end of certain characters.
In the attached file it appear with terminal character ج in small size line
for each font except 4 font where it appear in largest font size in the
character و (on character right side). If you take line of issue & change it's
size to sizes that do not show issue then the tag will disappear. If you return
to previous size then it will reappear.
 Best

Error message after hitting save and LO Options

I recently updated LO from version 4.2.7.2 to 4.2.8.2. Now, saving spreadsheets
reported an error not previously seen.

After applying changes on sheets, hitting button 'save' spawns error seen on
file LO_error-01.jpg. It appears file is saved despite the error.

My diagnostics led to unchecking option "Always create backup copy" (file
LO_error-02.jpg), found on tools -> options -> Load/Save -> General, was a
workaround. Unfortunately, a backup copy is the only admitted security resource
accepted on our policies, so I came to you on this bug track.

System tested is a MS Windows Vista, not fully patched since internal policies
blocked some hotfixes.

Let me know if you need further information.

Best regards,
Walfred

I’d prefer the first option: having the button rendered in its “pressed” state

The vertical list of buttons is not meant to house every file type LibreOffice
is capable to create anyway. It’s just a way to open one of our six
applications. Let’s not clone Microsoft Works here.

+1 on what Stuart said, Writer/Web doesn’t function as an average IDE and is
severely lacking w.r.t. HTML’s newer standards (even when Sun was still around,
the component was already outdated).

To also address issue of bug 87701, guess we should allow selection--retain

This is a limitation of Writer as it has its own implementation of image which
doesn't support rotation. The situation is actually quite messy as the common
(Draw/Impress/Calc) implementation has some features that Writer implementation
doesn't and vice versa. The idea is to get rid of Writer implementation and
implement the missing features in common image implementation but this is quite
some work and not easy.

I think there is alredy a bug about this.

Bug ID: 87721
Summary: Menus: Not functional on Redhat Enterprise Linux 6.6
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tjaywea...@gmail.com

Menus only show up as underscores in full screen mode. When reducing the
window size, the menu names show up after moving the window. However, they
disappear when the mouse scrolls over the menu name. The names of the items in
the menu only appear as underscores. The popup names for icons on the menu bar
also do not appear.

I have tried the following in an effort to resolve the problem.

Changed the application font and font size
Changed the resolution
Uninstalled LibreOffice
Installed a different version 4.3.5 I believe.
Uninstalled version 4.3.5.
Reinstalled version 4.0.4.2 (Build ID:4.0.4.2-14-el6)

What is interesting is that when I take a screenshot, the menus and the items
in the menu appear in the screenshot.

Bug ID: 87720
Summary: Default image insert anchor and wrapping

  Hardware: Other

 Component: ux-advise

By default libreoffice inserts images as To Paragraph, Optimal and many users
coming from other word processors are not familiar with LO's image insertion
behaviour and may like to change this default behaviour. So i'd like to suggest
that in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > General, we add a section
entitled 'Image Insert' and provide two drop down lists - 1) Anchor, 2) Text
Wrap.

Defaults in other word processors:

MS Word - In Line (aka As Character)
WPS Writer - In Line (aka As Character)
Google Docs - In Line (aka As Character)
WordPerfect - Paragraph, Square/Both Sides (aka Paragraph, Parallel)
Abiword - In Line (aka As Character)
Calligra Words - Floating Free (aka To Page, Optimal)

Is there a reason why LO has decided to stick with this default anchor and
wrapping preset for insertion of images?

Scratch my last suggest, as the better thing is that to show the drag mouse

The most optimal solution is that when an image is dragged with 'As Character',

Reproducible with LO 4.4.0.0.beta1 and 4.3.4.1 (Win 8.1).

Text you can move everywhere you want by dragging it with the mouse. But an
image anchored as character can only be moved up and down. But if you move it
down then it becomes like an "enlarged" character (empty space above the image,
-> try to put the cursor above the image -> a further bug).

When opening attachment 79858 in MS Word 2010, MS Word translates this image
set to 'To Paragraph' and 'Optimal' to :-

Horizontal: Absolute position: 0", to the right of: Column
Vertical: Absolute position: 1.54", below: Paragraph
Text Wrapping: Square

When opening attachment 79857 in MS Word 2010, MS Word showed :-

Horizontal: Absolute position: 0", to the right of: Column
Vertical: Absolute position: 1.54", below: Paragraph
Text Wrapping: Square

So i dont think there is a problem with this as the document looks the same in
both cases, but that the ODF and DOC formats dont translate 1 to 1, so i
believe this is NOTABUG.

When an image is anchored as 'As Character' it is not possible to drag it
around like a character and drop it in a middle of a sentence. The only means
of dragging an image set to 'As Character' is up and downwards, but it simply
moves the image up and down according to the line its in, there isnt a means of
moving it left and right or to the previous or next line.

Great idea, because for me EDIT WITH EXTERNAL TOOL opens the standard windows
photo viewer, where I have no editing capabilities and therefore I never use
this function yet.
But would it also be possible that you could select between the different
installed software instead of only select out of a preselected software list,
because then it is not unlikely that LO does not list the right programme,
because there are so many existing programmes besides Jay's list like
PhotoFiltre, LightZone, ViewNX, XnView, Microsoft Picture Manager, Aperture,
Photoscape, etc. In addition, I don't think it is good to focus mainly on open
source software. Therefore, best it would be if LO would detect on its own all
installed graphic programmes and offer them, otherwise the list should be
extended.
Regarding Photoshop there is also a whole family (Ps, Lithroom, Elements).

That is not quite correct. libmspub parses some table-related data (I do not
know if it is all that is needed, or if more work is necessary there), but it
does not use it in any way. This was implemented purely for future use, because
the then used libwpg import interface had no support for tables.

We can do it now, though.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87714] New: CONTEXT MENU: Better integration with image editing apps

2014-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87714

Bug ID: 87714
Summary: CONTEXT MENU: Better integration with image editing
apps
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: ux-advise
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org
Blocks: 86349

As LO does not have image editing capabilities, it would be better to have
direct edit linking between LO and other image editing applications (primarily
open source ones), rather than simply having 'Edit with External Tool'
(.uno:ExternalEdit) load up the image in its default viewer, as most default
viewers dont have editing capabilities.

So i'd like to suggest that LO check for the following list of image editors

== Linux ==

GIMP - /usr/bin/gimp
Pinta - /usr/bin/pinta
Showfoto - /usr/bin/showfoto
gThumb - /usr/bin/gthumb

== Windows ==

GIMP
Pinta
Showfoto
Paint - c:\system32\mspaint.exe
Paint.Net
Photoshop

== Mac OS X ==

GIMP
Pinta
Showfoto
Paintbrush - http://paintbrush.sourceforge.net/
Photoshop
Pixelmator

With the ability to detect these external editors, we could have an edit image
context entry like this.

Edit Image With
  GIMP
  Pinta

  Default Viewer

While in the styles and formatting dialog, the right-click context menu gives
you easy access create a new, modify and delete a style, but no easy access to
duplicate one. It isnt a problem when you are in a style category which lets
you inherit from another style, but when for example you are in page styles
list and i want to have a duplicate copy of 'Default Style', it isnt easy.

Bug ID: 87709
Summary: Cell range definition incorrectly updated at re-open

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Created attachment 111326
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=111326&action=edit
attached spreadsheet is a test kit (as described above)

Problem description:
when a cell range is entered with the lower cell higher than the upper cell,
the range definition is corrected at re-open time.
But adjacent cells are incorrectly changed too !

Steps to reproduce:

open the attached spreadsheet.
column B contains numbers.
column C is the sum of the numbers in column B down to its row.
Columns E and F are copies of columns B and C, respectively.

1. Now copy cell F4 and paste it into cell F3.
2. save; close; re-open.
3. The formulas (and thus the values) in columns F have changed in the adjacent
cells below F3 (down to F6) !

Current behavior:
The formula text is changed in the cells F3 to F6.

Expected behavior:
The formula should be changed only in cell F3.

I could see emphasizing the Writer/Web HTML Document if we actually had any
support for external CSS2/3 style sheets, or HTML 4/5.

But as we don't really even support WYSIWYG markup--having to work in HTML
source view mode to edit markup and any inline style, which then does not
remember its position when toggling back to Web view--LibreOffice's HTML
Document feature is not what folks would expect, and so should not be accorded
its own Start Center button.

An item on a split button dropdown, perhaps paired with the Web Page Wizard,
would be about all the emphasis it merits.

In the borders tab of various dialogs (e.g. Table > Table Properties...) there
is a checkbox labeled 'Synchronize' that make sure that changes made to one of
the entries gets made to all. It would be useful for this same functionality to
be added to other tabs like Table > Table Properties... > Table > Spacing,
Format > Image > Wrap > Spacing, Format > Image > Crop > Crop, Format > Page >
Page > Margin, Format > Page > Header > Margins, etc.

Some times its useful to have it automatically checked, like how it is in the
borders tab.

At first I didn't like too much also, but after a bit of use, besides easier
work with tabs. I think the major benefit is that now it's an option set up in
the OS the width/height of scrollbars without worry about the tabs size,
specially if you like thin scrollbars.

I'm agree, about that we already have a lot of them.
More options more tickets for trouble.

I love this function, use the CTRL+Shift+C and CTRL+Shift+V to Copy/Paste
Format in the MS office, and very hope the libreoffice could to add this
function;

this function is very useful and handly, much more faster than the format
painter tool, its one cool function, Hope to add this :D

Can anybody else still reproduce this issue or can it maybe be closed as
resolved?

I tested it with LO 4.4.0.0.beta1 (Win 8.1) with EXPORT AS PDF and with PRINT
-> pdf printer.

-> I could not reproduce it as it is seen in the pdf attachment (but I don't
see the logo in the top left).

This bug is already quite old. Therefore, is this issue for others still
reproducible with the latest releases of LO?
Or is this a Linux only issue?

2014-12-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87702

Bug ID: 87702
Summary: SIDEBAR: Properties tab Area content panel needs
shadow options
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: ux-advise
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: philip...@hotmail.com
CC: libreoffice-ux-adv...@lists.freedesktop.org
Blocks: 65138

The Area dialog has 3 tabs in it (Fill, Shadow, Transparency) but the sidebar
only has settings for 2 (Fill, Transparency). So it would be useful to add the
shadow features, the least of which would be angle (drop down list), color and
transparency.
