[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87779] The document appears to be read-only after the last character by not ahead of it.

2014-12-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87779

Hi Rohinton,

So it looks as if you solved the problem, but do not know how ;) There seems to
be some content in the original file, that prevents editing at the very last
position...
It would be good to check with e.g. the Navigator for (read only)sections, or
maybe there is a 'locked' image?

If you want to have further support, may I suggest that you first try the user
support options listed here?
 http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support/

You may also send me the file - I can have a quick look.

I tend to resolve this issue as WorksForMe, but wait a little more..

Thanks,
Cor

@Andy: As some users may still enable the toolbar, even if it is in the
sidebar, it still should be put at the top. ;D

I confirm the bug is present under Win81 x64 using LibO 4.3.5 and that is not
present in LibO 4.5.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 2a20bf5105181d51aab40bdd4ce8c09615a0e599
TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:master, Time: 2014-12-25_07:55:29

hence the bug is fixed in the master branch so the status has to be changed to
RESOLVED WORKSFORME

however a bibisect would be very helpful to identify the fixing committ and
request it's backport to 4.3.x and 4.4.x

I'll add bibisectRequest to whiteboard. once this is done, please put

Shows the tables and views of Thunderbird-Addressbook in LO 3.*

The attached file should explain the difference between tables and views in the
addressbook. "Gesammelte Adressen" is "Collected Addresses" in English. The
following two views are groups of the "Collected Addresses". The views have
different icons in opposite to the tables. "Persönliches Adressbuch" is the
personal addressbook.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87820] New: Images not displayed properly in Calc

2014-12-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87820

Bug ID: 87820
Summary: Images not displayed properly in Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: eugene.kinya...@gmail.com

Created attachment 111452
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=111452&action=edit
After opening

Images are not displayed properly in Calc 4.3 and 4.4

1) Create new Calc document.
2) Insert image into it (Insert->Image...).
3) Save and close document
4) Open document.
5) Image is not displayed at all or displayed partially
6) After refreshing document (scrolling up/down, changing sheet,
minimize/maximize Calc window) image is displayed as expected.

Issue seems to be Calc specific. Images are displayed correctly in Writer and
Impress.

Calc 4.2.x displays images right away.

TESTING with LO 4.3.5.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 (x86-64)

(In reply to Frank from comment #2)

REPRO steps
> Step 1:
> Open a Writer Document - go to some arbitrary page and click the mouse; this
> sets what I am referring to as the "current page."

k

> Step 2:
> (as you surmised) Use the menu sequence "Tools | Options | General | Print
> Dialogs": Insure that "Use LibreOffice Dialogs" is Unchecked. (This causes
> LibreOffice to use the printing dialog boxes supplied by the Operating
> System - in my case the operating system is 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04)

k

> Step 3:
> (again, as you surmised) Use the menu sequence "File | Print" and insure
> that the "General" tab is the one displayed. In the lower "Range" section
> there is a grouping of three radio buttons labeled "All Pages", "Current
> Page", and "Pages".

For me it's:
( ) All pages
( ) Pages [box for range of numbers]
( ) Selection [greyed-out]

> The problem I am describing is that the "Current Page"
> radio button is always disabled ("greyed out") and there is no page number
> in the input box adjacent to that radio button when using LibreOffice Writer.

NOREPRO:
- There's a page number (currently "3")
- The text box is greyed-out when the radio button is not selected (but is live
once the radio button *is* selected)

> In the operating system printing dialog, the other tabs differ based on the
> printer that is selected as well as the application that is calling the
> dialog. For instance, the "LibreOffice Writer" tab is only present when
> called from Writer. So Writer seems to be sharing at least some information
> with the OS - just not the current page.
>
> Although the issue I describe could (so far) be related to either the
> operating system or the application, the reason I suspect the application
> (Writer) is that the identical OS printing dialog is used with other
> applications and all those I have looked at show the current page number
> filled in next to the "Current Page" radio button.

Not sure what to say: I can't reproduce on my system.

> It would therefore seem that Writer is not passing this information to the
> operating system's dialog box, at least in 64 bit versions of Ubuntu.

Just to be clear, are you using official TDF builds, or builds from Ubuntu?
(And if you haven't already, please try testing the LO 4.4.0.1 RC build)

Thanks for sharing your idea.

This is a little worrying. I can imagine other projects’ leaders roaring
because of alleged “unfair competition” (as if we were competing). Also, I
personally hate it when software adds advertisement to e-mails, such as the
hideous “Sent from my iPad”. Let’s face it, it’s advertising.

I would leave the users’ e-mail content alone, and leave the recommendation of
ODF-compatible software at their discretion.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87818] New: Resizing window does not redraw content

2014-12-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87818

Bug ID: 87818
Summary: Resizing window does not redraw content
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.0.beta2
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: lolwut...@gmail.com

Created attachment 111447
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=111447&action=edit
screenshot of graphical bug

Steps to reproduce:

1. Start LibreOffice Calc.
2. Resize the window by dragging the upper left-hand corner of the window.

When the window is resized to a larger area, the content remains in the same
area of the window and does not get redrawn into the expanded area. When the
window is resized to a smaller size, the content does not get redrawn. Instead,
the content is clipped.

If I leave the window sitting there for several seconds, the content will _not_
be redrawn.

Observed on:

-Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
-XFCE 4.10.0
-Linux 3.13.0-43-generic
-Nvidia proprietary driver, 319.60

you can see my openCL setting

Good morning to all programmer, and LibreOffice comunity.
i am marco, and i am using a multiple cell calculate formula using FIND.Vert()
when I DON'T enable openCL (intel support i7) I can see the exactly and correct
value of the cell, but when I enable intel openCL or AMD openCL (I have both on
my machine) it works but in one casestrangly the column doesn't update the
value of the referenced cells using FIND.vert formula.
Basically it turn in 0 the cell, without finding the value.
But only in one column (not all column, where I used the find.vert formula)

So I had to force to disable the openCL support...!

What is the problem ?

If someone know this is a bug or a setting of my machine problem ?

Thank you very much.

sot: re-work OLE2 offset-to-page computation

The gotcha here is that if we get ahead of ourselves, and read to
the end of the stream, we detect bad chains too early, so instead
incrementally build the page chain cache, which is also quicker
and behaves more similarly to the previous code.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87813] New: SIDEBAR: Incorporating the effects list into the animation tab

2014-12-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87813

Bug ID: 87813
Summary: SIDEBAR: Incorporating the effects list into the

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other

In impress, in order to add an effect, you click on a add effect button which
opens up a dialog where you select the effect you want to add. This seems to be
a very clumsy way of going about this when the contents of this dialog could
easily be integrated into the sidebar with a drop down list for effect category
and (ideally) a listbox for the effects list.

Another alternative is to have a single drop down list or listbox listing the
most important entries from each category that a user can choose from. When a
user doesnt find the effect they want to use, they will click on a 'More...'
button at the bottom of the list which would open up the effects dialog and
then a user can choose an entry from the list. Once chosen, that entry will now
be shown in the condensed list for easy access to the next time the user wants
to use it.

When attempting to print Draw doc in legal, landscape format page content shown
in print preview larger than actual page. Attempted to select "Fit to printable
page" but nothing happened in the preview window.

When I printed the doc content overflowed page. Fonts were much larger than
specified in actual doc. I reverted from LibreOffice v. 4.2.8.2 back to
v.4.2.6.8 (the version the doc was created in) and "Fit to printable page"
worked OK again.

I took the original file created in v.4.2.6.8 and selected a text block from
it. It measured 4.85" x 0.13". I pasted it onto a new blank draw doc created in
v.4.2.8.2 and the text box now measured 6.81" x 1.28".

Had to trash v. 4.2.8.2 in order to be able to print.

animation list tab in various presentation apps

In the custom animation tab of the sidebar in impress, the animation effects
list control shows 3 pieces of information per entry - how the animation
starts, what category the effect belongs to, and the name of the object. Only
the name of the object is written as text, while the other two are represented
as images, with no means to understand what they could mean unless you clicked
on each entry.

It would be useful to be able to know more information from a glance without
having to click on each one of the entries, most importantly i would assume
would be the effect name. It possible, a tooltip might also come in handy for
mentioning stuff as well.

Here are what other presentation apps show in the animation sidebars:

Google Docs: Mini Object Preview, Effect Name, Effect Action
Powerpoint: Order Number, Effect Category, Object Name
iWork Keynote: Order Number, Object Type, Effect Name
WPS Presentation: Order Number, Effect Action, Effect Category, Object Name

Shape rotated 90 degrees containing text rotated 270 degrees.

This is similar to fdo#87488, since I was trying to make a test document for
that. However in this case, the text is stored with different XML elements and
so won't necessarily be processed the same way by LibreOffice. My patch for
87488 has no effect on this document.

The right-pointing arrow shape itself isn't rendered properly by 4.3.5.2, it
displays as a rectangle. This seems to be fixed in Master.

The shape is rotated by 90 degrees and the text inside is supposed to be
rotated by 270 degrees, so that it is displayed the right way up.

The document was created using Word 2010 on Windows by inserting a
right-pointing arrow shape, rotating it by 90 degrees, selecting a point inside
the shape and typing random text, then finding text direction properties in a
menu and selecting 270 degrees. The net effect in Word is to rotate the shape
by 90 degrees while displaying the text the right way up.

A spreadsheet .tsv file, if opened in Calc via File -> Open... doesn't come up
as a spreadsheet (asking me if I want to use Tab as a field separator.)

Instead it starts Writer and I see it as a text file.

However, if I open it via opening the Home Folder (getting icons for
subdirectories and files) and then clicking on the icon for the .tsv file, it
will open as a spreadsheet.

Or I can change the file name from .tsv to .csv - and then Calc will open it
(asking me if I want to use Tab as a field separator.)

This creates extra work to open a .tsv file.

The elements in the custom animation tab of impress are taking up to much
width, for no particular reason that i can see. You can see the main list
element is being cropped on the right, as well as the options button on the
direction line. I think we could easily change the options button from a text
button to an image button with an wrench icon. Doing this would also make room
to push the various controls from touching the left side of the sidebar.

Note: The size of the toolbar shown is the minimum size used in the properties
tab.

Hi Cor,

I do have some images in the original maybe removing those changed the
structure?

And yes I see that I can extend that test file too, however when cleaning
it still had the problem.

However the issue still exists in the original. Here is what I can do.
I can mail you the file in question. If you can generate the test case
and keep it sanitized you are welcome to use it. If you cannot then you
will delete it.

Or give me instructions on what to extract from the file/zip and I can post
them here.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open IMPRESS
2. Go to INSERT -> MOVIE AND SOUND and insert a sound or video file
3. (Optional if you had never activated the Media Playback in the past) Go to
VIEW -> TOOLBARS -> Select the MEDIA PLAYBACK toolbar
4. Click on the media file

Result: The Media Playback toolbar appears at the bottom.

Through this the main window jumps up and down and this feels fitful/jerky. I
would also think that it should be moved up at the top.

@Jay: In the Bug Report 87794 you also propose alternatively to move the Media
Playback toolbar into the Sidebar. What would prefer most, to move it into the

this:

1) Start with xls file, Save As ods file
2) In ods file, make change, do not save as ods, instead Save As xls.
3) Read saved xls file with xlrd.

Then there is still the issue of why xlsx works?

Yes there aint tooltips for it, you should file that one. CC me if you want me
to confirm it. :D

Yes the gradient on the stroke is causing it not to look that crisp. Yes they
are all falling back on the tango icons.

> Does the Scale View drop-down list box have any effect for you?

No it is disabled for me and the tooltip just says 'View' which i was wondering
what that was supposed to mean.
