Installed Scientific Linux 7 64-bit on a VM. Installed Xfce 4.10 and
xterm-295-3.
Could not reproduce the problem with these:

Version: 4.1.4.2
Build ID: 4.1.4.2-3.el7

Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 9763b55eb946cf425220d26dab91bf220890b180
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@46-TDF-dbg, Branch:master, Time:
2015-01-08_12:56:53

I could not get 4.3 to work, so was not able to test.

Please test on Xfce 4.10.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88223] New: Font for exported comments not properly handled.

2015-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88223

Bug ID: 88223
Summary: Font for exported comments not properly handled.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tcor...@ix.netcom.com

I have inserted comments in an ordinary text document and tried to get bold
style on some portion of the comment using the toolbar. In LibreOffice, the
bolding of the text is correctly displayed in its version of a comment.
However, when exported to PDF, the bold (or italic) style is not present.

I have also used the LibreOffice feature for formatting all comments to specify
a specific font size and style. Inside LibreOffice, it is perfect, but upon
export to PDF -- even when specifying via the File Properties Option that
embedded fonts should be passed to the PDF, the font face and style are NOT
honored in the PDF version as displayed by Adobe Reader.

Interestingly, if I were willing to live with the "In Margin" option, which I
am not, I do notice that in that mode, the resulting PDF document does get a
comment displayed in the correct font and face. So, I know you know how to do
it, but it is not being done in the required case of exporting comments that
will be displayed in a popup box by Adobe Reader.

Apparently, there seems to be no official way for an app to opt to use this
cursor itself – the OS sets it when the app is unresponsive:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13274975/how-can-i-set-the-mac-colorful-loading-cursor-to-an-nsimageview

This makes me wonder: if you try to open a really big document (one which would
take ~10 seconds to load), does OS X replace this hourglass cursor with its own
spinning wheel? If so, then perhaps the solution is to simply not change the
cursor to busy state from within LibreOffice at all?

Additional tests showed: Ordinary spaces in contact with the line break are
abolished together with the break independent of their character format if the
next character in frontof the first space and behind the second space are
differently formatted. The U+FEFF zero width space on the other hand is treated
as letters and can prevent abolishing a line break between two specimen of it
in same format. Having two U+FEFF differently formatted and a line break
between: The line break will vanish, the two zero spaces will persist.

How to reproduce bug 88208 in two different Writer versions

Thanks for the responses. Sorry you were unable to follow my earlier
description; I hope the attached document contains enumerated instructions that
are easier to follow.

I've fiddled with this behavior some more, and there doesn't seem to be any
doubt that it is reproducible using whatever techniques I could come up with to
do it differently. I would have tried other Writer versions, but those
referenced in the document (4.3.3.2 and 4.4.0.0.alpha2+) are the only ones I
have loaded, although I can't normally use the 4.4 because of some of its bugs
clobber my documents significantly.

If you still can't reproduce the behavior I described, just close it, as it's
not that hard to avoid using alternate table borders, and I realize there are
certainly more serious bugs to work on.

- Frank

Minimalistic repro .rtf file.

Problem description:
[I am not 100% sure if this behavior is to be expected or not]
A default font has been set in the .rtf using the \deff0 command and by setting
up a font table using \fonttbl. When ending a line with the \par command, the
next line starts (as expected) with the default font as defined by \deff0 and
\fonttbl. When ending a line with the \line command however, the next line
starts with LibreOffice's Default Font (Western) as defined under

Tool > Options > LibreOffice Writer > Basic Fonts (Western) > Default

The line's text (if there is any) itself however is correctly set to use the
.rtf default font. This can cause issues with empty lines whose height is then
solely defined by LibreOffice's Default Font's height.

Steps to reproduce:
Load the attached .rtf file.

Current behavior:
Different fonts are set depending on the command used for ending a line.

Expected behavior:
The default font as defined by the .rtf itself should be used everywhere.

ionto the ask.libreoffice forum.)
The attachment https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=111979
shall demonstrate that the issue is depending on the surrounding of the hard
line break.
During my investigation the error did not occur if at least one character in
front of and one character behind the hard line break were uniformly formatted
and thus were completely inside of a single text field.

The same sheet saved in XLS and then reloaded did not show the error.

Carriage return disappears upon re-open in Calc and in MS Office (mac 2011)

Did some discussing isolating this, which seems to be a legitimate issue that
happens under specific circumstances. See this thread and the "answer" for
further information. I'm incluing my test file here.

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/44693/calc-text-carriage-return-disappears-upon-re-open/

The problem seems to be that if formatting is not the same on either side of
the carriage return, it breaks in this file format. But see answer in thread
for more information.

first of two example files
Very slow scrolling (and general response e.g. letter typed, > 1 sec, appears
on screen) when PNG image is embedded.
"Same" image as JPEG (same resol.) does not lead to visible problems.

Does Libreoffice (Writer) use other techniques to bring the images to display?
Or is the culprit hidden somewhere else? (GPU driver?)

Always: As soon as the image is off screen scrolling/response is back to
normal.

I also have a second file with different images but bringing up the same
problem. (PNG vs. JPEG) Also there are PNG files which do not slow down writer
(at least not noticeably), regardless if they are true colour, 8 bit color or
greyshade. Sadly I have a lot of these files and must put a lot of them in long
documents...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88212] New: Load At Startup Option During Install Does Not Work

2015-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88212

Bug ID: 88212
Summary: Load At Startup Option During Install Does Not Work
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jmadero@gmail.com

Win 8.1
LibreOffice 4.3.5
LibreOffice 3.6.7.2

Steps:
1. Download LibreOffice;
2. Install
3. During install make sure to select "Load at startup" (or the equivalent of
that)
4. Reboot after install

Observed:
QuickStarter does not load on startup. Go to Tools -> Options -> Memory ->
"Load LibreOffice during system start-up" and note that it is not checked.

Expected:
QuickStart loads up and option is checked.

Broken at least sine 3.6.7.2 from what I can tell. Wasn't available in 3.5,
probably never worked right.

Setting to:
Trivial - workaround is just to check the box in the settings after you
install. Doesn't really slow down anything in terms of creating professional
quality work.

Tested on:
LibreOffice 4.3.5
Windows 8.1 x64

My results:
During the install prompt I do get a "load libreoffice on startup" or something
similar with a checkbox.

So as far as this bug - from what I can understand - it worksforme. I suspect
this was a side effect of bug 80927 where we disabled the QuickStarter due to a
serious crashing issue.

That being said, there is a separate issue that needs to get reported. This is
that the checkmark during install doesn't actually work. If you check it, then
reboot, LibreOffice does not load on startup. But there is an easy workaround
(go to tools -> options -> memory -> check "Load LibreOffice during system
start-up."

It is a bug, and I'll file it now.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88208] New: Table Borders in Writer

2015-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88208

Bug ID: 88208
   Summary: Table Borders in Writer
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.0.alpha2
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fobe...@enteract.com

Not sure when this first appeared as I haven't used non-default table borders
for a while, but I don't recall seeing this behavior earlier.

I'm using Ubuntu 64 bit 14.04 LTS with LibreOffice Version: 4.3.3.2
Build ID: 9bb7eadab57b6755b1265afa86e04bf45fbfc644

When doing Table Format - Borders, if I choose any doulbe line Style, the
display in the dialog shows just a really fat border, although the border
displays properly in the document. The problem with the display in the dialog
box doesn't seem like it has anything to do with my own graphics, since the
lines display fine in the drop-down box.

But wait - it gets better!

If I save the document and then reload it, any table lines that were originally
double lines (of at least several flavors - I obviously haven't attempted every
permutation) show up as blank.

As far as I can tell, the color used doesn't seem to make a difference, and
I've tried several different point sizes.

I've located several bugs that appear similar (although not identical) but
they've all been marked as Fixed.

I am moving this to NEEDINFO. It's not going to make any progress at all with
current information. We need the test document or a test document that we can
reproduce the issue - without this it's really impossible for us to do
anything.

If you can try to strip out the confidential information by randomly replacing
#'s and letters that is an option. Once you provide either:

1. A test document with clear instructions on how to reproduce; or
2. A way to reproduce with a blank document

please mark the bug as UNCONFIRMED. Thanks

2015-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88206

Bug ID: 88206
Summary: Change uses of cppu::WeakImplHelper* and
cppu::ImplInheritanceHelper* to use variadic variants
instead
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sberg...@redhat.com
CC: libreoff...@lists.freedesktop.org

Since

"Variadic cppu::WeakImplHelper" and

"Variadic cppu::ImplInheritanceHelper" uses of cppu::WeakImplHelper1,
cppu::WeakImplHelper2, etc. can drop the trailing "1," "2," etc. (and likewise
for cppu::ImplInheritanceHelper), and instead of the various
cppuhelper/implbase1.hxx, cppuhelper/implbase2.hxx, include just
cppuhelper/implbase.hxx.

Find (lots of) places in the code that can be cleaned up (see the two commits
for examples).

(Note that this is a LIBO_INTERNAL_ONLY feature that cannot be used in external
code though; in general, just keep away from files in include/cppu,
include/cppuhelper, include/sal, include/salhelper, include/uno, and
odk/examples.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88205] New: Adapt uses of css::uno::Sequence to use initializer_list ctor

2015-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 88205
Summary: Adapt uses of css::uno::Sequence to use

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All

Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sberg...@redhat.com
CC: libreoff...@lists.freedesktop.org

Since

"css::uno::Sequence ctor with initializer_list," that class has a ctor taking a
C++11 std::initializer_list, which can greatly simplify some code constructing
Sequence instances (see the commit for some examples).

Find places in the code that would benefit from adapting them (good candidates
are "getSupportedServiceNames" functions that return statically known OUString
Sequences).

(Note that this is a LIBO_INTERNAL_ONLY feature that cannot be used in external
code though; in general, just keep away from files in include/cppu,
include/cppuhelper, include/sal, include/salhelper, include/uno, and
odk/examples.)

just upgraded to 4.3 on OSX 10.8.5 If the application background is any color

The two colors are: the Application background, set in preferences and a
slightly muted hue of same color. The second color is the same color toggled
when LO loses focus. (i.e. toggling between open desktop apps)
The attached image, gives clear example of what is happening.

is not fixed in version 4.3.3 as stated in comment 13. It still lasts about 15
sec to open the first example document without displaying the Navigator and
about 2 sec with displaying the Navigator.

Hence status set back to UNCONFIRMED because this bug has never been confirmed

I tried on win8.1_x64 with latest LO 4.3.5.2 today.
Same Problem !!
It seems to be a problem with filenames, path or access rights while
opening/decrypting the file from the encfs-dokan-folder.
The tmp-path keeps the same while the names of the tmp-folder and the tmp-file
in that path varies, when you try to open the again and again.

Also reproduced when "Locale setting:" was "English (USA)".
It seems to be reproduced when "Default Languages for Documents" for "Asian:"
was "Japanese" or "Default - Japanese".
Other asian languages can open the file.

Created attachment 111955
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=111955&action=edit
simple test file

Sequence followed for creating the file was :

1. New file
2. Name and save empty file
3. Enter text in file
4. "Save as" same file name with password 123456
5. Share file
6. Try to save file. Doesn't save using "save" button, File/Save, or closing
window and selecting save from dialogue
7. Close file unsaved from dialogue
8. Re-open file - file is now marked as shared
9. Add text in cell C1 (or make no change to file)
10. Can't uncheck shared button under Tools/Share Document
11. Can't save file (with or without change to file)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61683] 64-bit version of LibreOffice on Windows

2015-01-08 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61683

There are no reasons to -not- make LO64. I might be wrong but Google Chrome64
was made cuz it's more secure, so LO64 should be too, if done correctly. And
the performance improvement in addition to RAM limit removal (or at least
increment).
