[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88484] New: Sample fonts in font name combobox don't display

2015-01-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88484

Bug ID: 88484
Summary: Sample fonts in font name combobox don't display
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chris.sherloc...@gmail.com

Created attachment 112329
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=112329&action=edit
Example of missing text

I've noticed that the font combobox we use in Writer, Calc, etc is not always
showing the sample characters. As an example, Abyssinica SIL on Linux is not
displaying the corresponding Ethiopic sample text next to it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77896] FORMATTING: Calc do not recognize "text:span" of cell text in ODS file, thus shows wrong font color

The font colour, weight, etc. seem to have gone wrong as of the below commit.
(among other issues, the fact that the text is permanently bold suggests that
the font-weight-asian attribute isn't being set/reset properly)

commit fa23b694c1979254c9a045bcf51d281c29d80c8d
Author: Kohei Yoshida
Date: Fri Feb 8 19:43:22 2013 -0500

Import formatted spans correctly.

There are more format types to cover. I'm not done yet.

I see what's going on here.

The issue only applies to 0.05pt lines. Anything thicker than that is shown
correctly with dots/dashes provided that the zoom level is high enough. 0.05pt
lines, however, are shown solid at any zoom level.

Thanks for the steps.
EPEL 7 apparently doesn't have clipit, so I only tested on SL 6.6.
I could not reproduce the truncation, so I'm setting back to unconfirmed.

The faintly visible table borders aren't a bug but a configuration option to
let you see all borders while editing. See Tools - Options - LibreOffice -
Appearance - Custom Colours - Table boundaries.

The rendering of the actually visible borders looks basically OK to me in
4.3/4.4. It could be more precise, but there are other bugs regarding that
issue and it isn't anything specific to this file or .docx import in general.

Note however that there is at least one other bug in 4.3 and later which may

Can't bisect this any further - it doesn't take enough seconds for me to get a
reliable reading on speed (0:10-0:18 from the bibisected range through to
4.4.0.2, varying a couple of seconds at random)

In any case, if there is a current issue then it's more a job for

Nobody asked, but can confirm this bug also appears in win7 ultimate 64 bit
(AMD) on 4.4.0.2. LO waits for a few secs then just dissappers without a trace.

I can reproduce the original issue from the bibisect repository. However, on
current releases:

4.3.5.2 isn't visually perfect while scrolling, but catches up immediately
after.
4.4.0.2 looks perfect to me and the performance seems acceptable.

Closing this as RESOLVED WORKSFORME

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 41572] Please make it possible to add custom animations to master slides

2015-01-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #17 from bugquestcon...@online.de ---
@Reuben Thomas - Thanks for your additional information.

I read again through your original posting and your comment comment #13 and I
understand your request as:

The default for grouping under
Effect options > Text animation > Group text should always be "By 1st level
paragraphs"

If my understanding of your is now correct:

1 - I fully support this request because the current default - by the lowest
level - is always consuming a lot of time to change to 1st level. My personal
opinion is that most user present paragraphs on 1st level, but I never ask a
representatively large group.
2 - My original enhancement request Bug 60466 is a different request. I
explained my request in different words in comment #15.
3 - My original report Bug 57186 is also a different one.

Your next comment could really be clarifying a lot and I am looking forward to
this. Thanks in advance!

@ raal and @Cor Nouws - Thanks for the solution and the sample. This works on
my XP machine. Hope I can make this to small macro.

Should I have a bit time I will place an enhancement request for an additional
combined entry of current date & current time.

BTW, just as side note I might most likely file a bug report for a wrong
function in v 4.3.5.2 on a Linux kubuntu 14.04 LTS machine. Need to check
details again. If I can confirm what I saw I the bug report will be a separate

OS: Windows (All)

  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

In the status bar you can select 4 different selection modes. But the according
icon displayed in the status bar is always the same. According my understanding
the main task of the status bar is the display of different program, editing,
system, etc. states in order to support the user during editing. This is not
the case with the selection mode. Hence I expect different icons for the 4
modes.

That is a bug. With a clear profile, the undocked Sidebar is opening to a width
slightly less than that of of the Tabbar, with no indication of the Deck
available to the left by drag out. Clicking any Tab element is not opening its
content panel in the Deck. Worse, when dragging left to open the deck, an
unidentified Arrow is becomes visible before any of the Deck's content panel is
exposed.

Clip attached.

Adding to 4.4 MAB, this is very broken.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88329] Document preview under Windows 8.1 does not work [Hard to reproduce]

2015-01-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88329

(In reply to Tony Szanto from comment #6)
> I have MS Office 2010. The LO and Staroffice files that I can view were
> created around mid 2011.

Okay, theory time:

1) Looks like ODF 1.2 was released at the end of september, 2011
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenDocument)

2) From what I can tell, Office 2013 was the first rev to (really) support ODF
1.2:
http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsofts-office-2013-odf-1-2-support-could-be-true-catalyst-for-openoffice-adoption/
http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Microsoft-Office-15-to-support-ODF-1-2-1560464.html
http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/9504/ms-office-2010-not-opening-doc-files/

3) ODF documents created w/later LO revs are probably in ODF 1.2 format

RESULT: Assuming that MS-Office is the tool that's driving the previews in
Windows Explorer, this explains why you (w/Office 2010) aren't seeing modern
ODF documents w/previews, and why Beluga (w/Office 2013) is.

Solution? Aside from upgrading MS-Office, I'm not sure. I wonder if there's a
way to get LibreOffice to provide the previews...

Okay, I'll test some versions out on Ubuntu 14.04.

LO 3.6.7.2: Opened up; looks somewhat like the example rendering (attachment
111889)

I see you're using an 'XITS' font that doesn't seem to be distributed with
LibreOffice. Can you reproduce the problem with a different font, e.g.
Liberation Sans? (If not, this might just be a font problem)

The buggy behavior first appears with this version:
Version 4.0.0.0.beta2 (Build ID: 4104d660979c57e1160b5135634f732918460a0)
beta1 of LO 4.0.0.0 works right. I have set the version to 4.0.0.3 release,
because beta2 isn't listed.
When I open beta2 and set the cursor to the last field of the tablecontrol in
last row 4 (Name: Angela) and go up with the arrow-key to Name:Barack the
navigation to last row would be inactive in row 3.

It is the same behavior up to LO 4.4.0.2 here with OpenSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm
Linux.

Simply Ctrl+A when somewhere in table works for me in 4.3.5.2 on Ubuntu in all
tables, except #6.

Tried to drag from bottom right to top and that indeed leaves bottom left
unselected.

Is that the same for you?
And if so, we may consider to close as wontfix, since there is a good way to
select the cells?

Confirm the problem.

There is an issue (# ...) for the situation where a header has the property
'keep with next' set, that causes a table cell that splits over one page to end
at the bottom of page one.
I don't see a heading however, and select all, turning 'keep with next' off,
does not change it here.
Ubuntu 32 bits 4.3.5.2

Apart from that, performance is dramatic ..

CONFIRMED with LO 4.4.0.2 + Ubuntu 14.04
The SVG is much slower; hopefully there's something we can do about speeding
that up.

> Notice also that, for the svg image, the scrolling down is faster than the

NOREPRO: Going both up and down is slow, but scrolling down seems a bit faster

(This makes sense to me, because when scrolling down, the SVG is the first
thing on the first page, and is already fully loaded. When I put the SVG on the
2nd page, it was just as slow to scroll up as down)

I'm the author of that extension, but it contains no code or script, just
galleries of shapes that were hand-drawn in LibreOffice itself. If the cpu is
running at 100%, it's running code, but certainly no code in the extension I
wrote - if you look at the extension you'll see it's basically just an archive
of gallery files bundled with an image, manifest, license and translations of
the description.

Happy to help in finding a solution if you need help, but there's no code for
me to "debug", just packaging and files put together as per OO/LibO docs.

FWIW, unless someone said the word "checkbox" to me, I wouldn't associate this
interface with checkboxes
- It doesn't have well-defined squares to check
- (As is the nature with all context menus,) one can only choose one item
before the menu closes, so the concept of selecting more than one item doesn't
seem natural

But an update is fine with me :-)

Agh, it was because in 4.5 alpha there is not an edit button for templates and
I was unknowingly opening a new presentation based on the template by double
clicking it.

The bug is old, it can be verified using the latest LO official version, I'm
using the latest LO on Fedora but I really doubt that is relevant.

If you are not seeing the templated has been updated message, then you have a
different problem (you should see it) I suspect that either your presentation
