   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major

Hello,

OK I tried LO 4.4.0.3 and so annoying but this bug still is present. That's so
sad - the same behaviour as 4.3.x.

What can I do to push this to the developers attention?

There's been some work on signing and certificates lately. It's possible that
this idea could build on top of what's been done there.

If the drop-down list is supposed to contain the colors applied to the document
(non-color-theme included), then this is a technical bug.

(In reply to Adolfo Jayme from comment #2)
> What I understood was that this list of colors wasn’t a collection of colors
> you’ve applied...but the colors in a document’s theme (if you create a

If the list of colors is just what's present in a document's theme, then this
is a Documentation/UX bug, as the label 'Document colors' is apparently
unclear.

Either way,

67995 mentions various improvements that are not mentioned here, including
saving the palette alongside the document. I think that these bugs are related,
but not equivalent enough to be considered duplicates.

Well, I spend a few hours over the weekend do look at the LibreOffice code.
Expected to find a class BasicIDE with a method Appear where I can find the
structure of the properties it accepts. But I did not find any.

It seems to me, that there is alot of old code mixed with new code. The
basicide stuff seems to be more of the old code.

I found a couple of invocations of the code in my codesample sOpenMacroEditor.
But this of course only means that this code worked somewhen. I can't tell if
that code is still active or not used any more.

I could only reproduce this issue if I set my UI font size bigger than the OS’

I’m not sure it it’s worth to fix such an ugly widget anyway. That dialog needs
a rethought design.

Yes, it is an intentional change. Not every dialog box has to be resizable
manually, and I am skeptical that the change severely blocks any user’s
workflow. That dialog in particular is pretty wide already (due to another bug
in the General tab related to non-scrollable, non-ellipsized information
labels), so I don’t believe you, as a user, need to manually resize it to
acommodate more content. Besides, doing that just makes the layout uglier in
all the other tabs.

I was really looking forward to this feature! I'm glad it's here, but I am
disappointed about the quality.

I tried it with the released version of Writer and Calc (4.4.0.3 on Linux Mint
17.1). The behaviour in Writer is erratic. I've seen it work partially (one of
four colors shown) in a document that I started from scratch. But in others the
list remains empty. In Calc it seems to work properly.

However, there seem to be some performance issues as well. Open the attached
document (created with LO 4.3, not too fancy I would think), click on the arrow
near the fill color, then change to "Document Color". It takes about five
seconds for the list to appear.

In Calc the list is updated dynamically. Every change is reflected immediately.
I am not so sure whether that's good. Imagine you are editing a document that
was created by someone else and you don't have the color palette. The document
contains three colors, and the first one is used only once. You change this to
one of the other colors and then you want to use the first one again somewhere
else in the document. However, since you removed the only occurence, it's gone
from the list. Maybe additions should be reflected immediatley, deletions only
after reloading the document.

What I would really like to see is a color palette that gets saved together
with the document (I know, that requires changes in the container spec.) An
easy way to create, save and load palettes would help too.

fdo#78939 [DOCX] Hang while opening due to incorrect modification of Style

http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/source/core/unocore/unosett.cxx#1884
Modifies the refernced style of the numbering rule to use the current
numbering rule.
Actually the refernced style is not supposed to be modified.
As the numbering level formatonly uses that properties particular style,
which may or may not be a numbering style

For this Particular document the numbering format refers the "Default
Style" (Normal).
Almost all of the styles in style.xml are based on it. Normal was modified,
and as a result the whole document was bulletized; Which caused the hang
while opening

Removed the addition of style as a PARA_STYLE, as the properties of the
refernced style are already added in ListLevel::AddParaProperties

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89033] New: MicroSoft document DOCX containing multiple images scatters/overlays images

2015-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 89033
Summary: MicroSoft document DOCX containing multiple images
scatters/overlays images
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libreoff...@scwalkl.demon.co.uk

Created attachment 113041
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=113041&action=edit
Holiday Itinerary including Map images.

Having successfully edited and printed a document sourced from MS DOCX and then
saved and exited on reloading said file images are either scattered
through/over tables or image copies are stacked on the first page. Tables are
over lapped by the images. Program also freezes. Table cell height properties
change.

Multiple attempts fail just as I reach a conclusion. LibreOffice Write seem to
loses track of the basic document layout forcing a re-start from the original
Microsoft Word (unknown version) DOCX format from a single source author.

My actions on original document include: deleting images set in tables,
converting images to be locked to PAGE, re-formating table contents justifying
to centre/centre and centre on page, font changes.

Happy to share the screwed file but will be off-line till 19th Feb.
File is attached.

OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: marcoagpi...@mail.telepac.pt

Hello!

In 2013 I forked the en_GB dictionary in order to add/delete/fix words.

So far I have added 10'000+ words to it.

I have made it available for Apache OpenOffice and Mozilla.

I was wondering if it could also be used by LibreOffice.

More information in the open-source Proofing Tool GUI project (upper right):
http://marcoagpinto.cidadevirtual.pt/proofingtoolgui.html

and the files can be accessed from my GitHub (.AFF + .DIC + README + wordlist):
https://github.com/marcoagpinto/aoo-mozilla-en-dict

I don't use LibreOffice, so, someone might want to create an OXT for it.

Thanks!

Kind regards,
 >Marco A.G.Pinto

I added two screenshots that illustrate the problem. A temporary workaround
could be to add the background color the font, but then you need whitespace at

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89031] New: EDITING - Calc Function suggestion too agressive

2015-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89031

Bug ID: 89031
Summary: EDITING - Calc Function suggestion too agressive
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: a...@patternjugglers.co.nz

Manually editing an existing formula now aggressively autocompletes function
names.
Example:
1/ I have a cell containing the formula =D1*5
2/ I want to edit the formula to reference cell E1 instead, so I postion my
cursor in the Formula Editor, delete the letter 'D', type 'E' and press
[ENTER].
3/ The formula is autosuggested to read =EASTERSUNDAY()*5

While not major, it interrupts workflow substantially for any user typing
formulas with cell references: seems to have been in place since about 4.3.5.1,
have verified that it wasn't the can in an old install of 4.1.6.2

I would like to turn it off: I don't suppose there's just a setting I've
missed?

Maybe. Let's again look at then when the side bar issues are implemented and
used for some time.
An advantage of the toolbar and panels is that you can drag the two/three that
you need and float them where needed. really makes working faster an reduces
mouse movement.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86329] EDITING: Image crop shouldnt be set to proportionate in Impress/Draw

tmacalp changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||tmac...@gmail.com
 Whiteboard|bibisectRequest |bibisectednewer

Oddly enough, when I tested this in 4.4.0.3 and current master, only the
PREVIEW for a crop is proportional. When you release the mouse button, the
resulting crop is not constrained. In fact, holding shift only changes the
preview to be non-constrained and the resulting crop is still unconstrained.
So it is actually currently impossible to get a constrained crop.

So, the following changes need to be made:
1. Fix the constrained behavior to make the preview while dragging consistent
with what is actually set.
2. Reverse the shift-constrain behavior, so the default behavior for crop is to
NOT be proportionally constrained.

Whatever the case, it looks like the new crop interface made it into the
bibisect-44 repo. The latest revision in the repo still has the old dialog, so
I'll mark this as bibisectednewer.

It might be a little tricky to fix this one since, like everything else in LO,
a lot of the code touches other behavior. For instance, when adjusting image
size was flipped to default to being constrained, it also made moving images
constrained as well. My guess is that a similar patch will need to be produced
to specifically fix cropping too.

Accidentally hit enter while preparing.

When this chart is exported as SVG (right-click - export as image - SVG), the
X-axis labels do not appear.

See the other attachment for the resulting SVG.

1) Reproducible no option for change sheet from absolute to relative.
But I'm not sure this is a bug, the label ranges I think are not part of sheet
so they are not copied with it, like named ranges.
In the help:
"You can set label ranges that contain the same labels on different sheets.
LibreOffice first searches the label ranges of the current sheet and, following
a failed search, the ranges of other sheets."

2) Reproducible, saving and reopening solves the issue.

3) I think not an issue here, seems recover the point 2), but always remains
calculated over Sheet1.

Please review.

As I started trying to bibisect this bug, the bug appeared in all versions that
I checked, the oldest commit being "oldest" in the "bibisect-43all"-repository,
i.e. commit 65fd30f5cb4cdd37995a33420ed8273c0a29bf00,
source-hash-d6cde02dbce8c28c6af836e2dc1120f8a6ef9932.

However, this was only the case for content newly inserted into cells, i.e.:

* The bug occurs when I do the following:
1) create a new calc sheet
2) insert "abcdefgh" into cell A1
3) copy the content of A1 to A2
4) replace the lower-case "e" in A2 by an upper-case "E"
5) confirm (by pressing "Return" or clicking into another cell)

* The bug does not occur when I do the following:
1) open an existing file that has "abcdefgh" in A1 and A2
2) do steps 4 and 5 from above

Therefore this does not seem to be a regression between the mentioned versions
(except the bug had been fixed reintroduced after having been fixed).

In this case, the "bibisectRequest" keyword should possibly be removed.

For me, the behaviour as described above was the same when using 4.3.3.2 on

I am having a problem with LibreOffice running very slow. This has only
happened recently, it used to be okay. It is version 4.2.7.2, Build ID:
420m0(Build:2). My Ubuntu is 14.04 with XFCE. I have increased the graphics RAM
available to 256 MB and 20 MB per object, and disabled Java.
Yet when I try to type things in Writer, it goes very slow and very lagging
behind what I am typing, or clicking on. It is becoming quite unusable.
Is there way to fix this?

2015-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 89026
Summary: The text in dropdown buttons (like linespacing and
kerning) are not editable using the keyboard when
selecting a custom value
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: franciscoadriansanc...@gmail.com

As the title describes, when selecting a "custom" linespacing or kerning value
it isn't possible to manually set a specific value. It's only possible to
select a value with the arrows of the text box, or the mouse well.

This affects the sidebar buttons from LibO 4.2 and above and also the new
linespacing button in the format toolbar in LibO 4.4.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a new text document

2) Using the sidebar, change the paragraph linespacing (or a word kerning) into
"custom". It could be "proportional", "fixed", etc, for linespacing, or any
option that seems to let you fix a value in the textbox. For kerning, any of
the 2 options (expanded/condensed) are the same.

3) Try to type a specific value in the textbox

Actual results:

Although the cursor changes into "input text", the textbox isn't clickeable and
is not possible to set a specific value.

Expected

It should be possible to set a specific value, as when opening the format
dialog window.

Stumbled on a user (https://twitter.com/dangillmor/status/561613904237715456)
who wanted to have documents default web layout over print layout and the
solutions available on ask libreoffice (
http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/1835/changing-the-default-layout/ ) are
to write a macro or create a new template with web layout set in it.

I think both solutions are bandages and not real solutions and this feature
should be selectable in Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > View.

On pc Debian x86-64 with 4.3 sources some days ago, I don't reproduce this
whereas I could reproduce this 4.4 sources.
So definitely a regression.
Increase a bit importance since it's in all OS.

screenshot of writer with sifr missing icons

When using LibreOffice with the SIFR icon theme, there are a lot of missing
icons replaced by text.
I can't name it since I use it in french and not in english, but I found it
several times in Writer, Calc, and Impress.
It makes it look ugly.
Some other icons are replaced by old gnome-style icons.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89022] New: Libreoffice Crashes when duplex printing

2015-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89022

Bug ID: 89022
Summary: Libreoffice Crashes when duplex printing
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Printing and PDF export
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: myemail...@tampabay.rr.com

I cannot print in duplex mode from Writer or Draw. The print progress bar
shows page two and then freezes. Using various documents makes no difference.
I have not tried printing from Impress, Base or Calc.

This computer is an HP Pavilion dv7 AMD processor.
Operating system is Linux Mint 17 64bit.

Front side only printing seems to work as expected. PDA export works as
expected.

I have this same operating system and version of Libreoffice on a Dell Inspiron
Desktop with Intel processor. Opening and printing the same documents in
duplex mode works correctly. I have tried duplex printing on 3 different
printers with the same result, so I think I can rule out printer drivers.

This is an upgrade from Libreoffice 4.2.x. Accomplished by adding Libreoffice
ppa to software sources.

I have also uninstalled and re-installed Libreoffice on this computer with no
change.

I am hopeful that this can be resolved. I have been using Libreoffice for
several years and rely on it as our sole word processing program for our
office. It is a great program. I like the new features of 4.4 and hope it is
not necessary to revert to an earlier version.

Probably nothing... but that is an issue for the ESC.

Unfortunately it looks like there remains a lot of work still to be done other
than making this connection to the general system clipboard. Here is Jonas'
list as of mid-2013.

http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/starmath/visual-editor-todo

Some folks have poked at its pieces, but no dev since Jonas' initial GSoC work
in 2010 has really dug in to move the Visual formula editor along.

Hey Ajinkya,

Thanks for dropping your suggestion in. :D

So presently with the sidebar fully open, it has a size of approximately 270
pixels or more if you are on the properties tab. So if i resized LO's window to
half of my screen width, the sidebar would take up half of the available window
space. So in order to save a step for a user to have to hide the sidebar, it
would be useful for the sidebar to fully collapse or collapse to just showing
the sidebar tab buttons.

Well, the good news is that this isn't exactly prebibisect. The bad news is
that it is very difficult to bibisect. Occasionally, under some miracle
conditions, this document will not crash and will successfully load the
document. Sometimes it can take me over 100 tries. Other versions/attempts
never seem to be able to load the file.

I have no idea what would be causing the file to load sometimes, but not
others. I've been making use of a while loop to run LO repeatedly until it
actually loads. I've tried adjusting for other factors by wiping my config
directory, removing the document lock file, and cleaning the bibisect directory
in between every launch, but nothing seems to help with the crashes.

I attempted to perform an actual bibisect, but I keep running into situations
where I can never actually launch the document. I can at least limit the
problem commit to somewhere between "last40onmaster" and "last41onmaster," but
that's still a range 108 revisions. I was able to somehow launch both of those
versions and the "last40onmaster" revision had the full text, while
"last41onmaster" showed the current cut-off behavior.

All I know is that I've racked up 2606 segfaults in my syslog testing this one.
But I might be doing something stupid and someone else might have better luck
bibisecting, so I'll leave the whiteboard status as bibisectRequest.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88744] Experimental Visual formula editor does not link to system clipboard, also is missing Copy and Cut buttons in its selection context menu

2015-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88744

After having this issue fixed... what prevents us from removing the Visual
formula editor's "experimental" state?

According to some quick and dirty tests, it seems to work! In case if it still
has some issues, they will will be revealed after this feature is not "hidden"
anymore and used by more people.

I made some additional tests a found the cause of this problem. It appears only
if "Use OpenGL for all rendering" is enabled.

Used system configuration:
- Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32bit
- GPU NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
- NVIDIA graphics driver 340.52
- default driver settings

It looks like this is not a bug after al, but a missing dictionary. Forgive the

@Adolfo, looks like we changed documentpropertiesdialog.ui "resizable" property
to false with:

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=fc293cecec7732a365d791089a2c92bf2f85fea9

Any advantage to leaving it that way?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89020] New: Insert point cursor in wrong position in Impress

2015-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89020

Bug ID: 89020
Summary: Insert point cursor in wrong position in Impress
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: louis.steinber...@gmail.com

Created attachment 113032
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=113032&action=edit
odp presentation that reproduces the bug

Insertion point cursor is in the wrong place.
macOSX 10.7.5, LibreOffice Version: 4.3.5.2 (Cannot run 4.4 in osx 10.7)
Build ID: 3a87456aaa6a95c63eea1c1b3201acedf0751bd5

TO reproduce:
  - start a new LibreOffice running
  - open bad-cursor.odp (attached)
  - maximize the window
  - go to page 2
  - click on '//' Insertion point appears to be in the middle of the /. Also
out of position for many other characters, but more subtly so. I have seen it
off by several character widths, but cannot reproduce that.

This has been going on since 4.3, maybe 4.2, but I only today managed to make
it reproducible.

Sometimes I cannot insert at all - mouse pointer stays as the arrow instead of
insert-bar, but I cannot reproduce this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87643] SIDEBAR: New Shapes Tab and content panels

2015-02-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87643

(In reply to Viko Adi Rahmawan from comment #4)
> Just an idea inspired by basic shape dropdown in standard toolbar,

> preferably grouped and have recently used.
> this is how MSWord insert toolbar is.

The creation of a split/drop down button for shapes has been suggested in bug
84350.

> this way drawing toolbar can be hidden and user doesnt need to change
> sidebar pane back and fort between properties and shape if they want to draw
> and change properties

This argument was discussed in bug 84350 as well and having a constantly
visible toolbar or sidebar when you need to add multiple different shapes has
an advantage over a split/drop-down button.

The design team discussed last week about this sidebar panel and Kendy
suggested that the sidebar tab also have the ability to set the shape's area
and border colors from the sidebar, which is possible to set in the line and
filling toolbar before a shape is drawn. So it would be useful to copy the
'fill' entry from the area properties section and the 'width' and 'color'
entries from the line properties section, and these entries would only effect
newly drawn shapes.
