Not every dialog box has to be resizable manually, and I am skeptical that the change severely blocks any user’s workflow. That dialog in particular is pretty wide already (due to another bug in the General tab related to non-scrollable, non-ellipsized information labels), so I don’t believe you, as a user, need to manually resize it to acommodate more content. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67995 wanchai changed: What|Removed |Added CC||r...@whoever.com --- Comment #10 from wanchai --- I was really looking forward to this feature! I'm glad it's here, but I am disappointed about the quality. I tried it with the released version of Writer and Calc (4.4.0.3 on Linux Mint 17.1). The behaviour in Writer is erratic. I've seen it work partially (one of four colors shown) in a document that I started from scratch. But in others the list remains empty. In Calc it seems to work properly. However, there seem to be some performance issues as well. Open the attached document (created with LO 4.3, not too fancy I would think), click on the arrow near the fill color, then change to "Document Color". It takes about five seconds for the list to appear. In Calc the list is updated dynamically. Every change is reflected immediately. I am not so sure whether that's good. Imagine you are editing a document that was created by someone else and you don't have the color palette. The document contains three colors, and the first one is used only once. You change this to one of the other colors and then you want to use the first one again somewhere else in the document. However, since you removed the only occurence, it's gone from the list. Maybe additions should be reflected immediatley, deletions only after reloading the document. What I would really like to see is a color palette that gets saved together with the document (I know, that requires changes in the container spec.) An easy way to create, save and load palettes would help too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Having successfully edited and printed a document sourced from MS DOCX and then saved and exited on reloading said file images are either scattered through/over tables or image copies are stacked on the first page. Tables are over lapped by the images. Program also freezes. Table cell height properties change. Multiple attempts fail just as I reach a conclusion. LibreOffice Write seem to loses track of the basic document layout forcing a re-start from the original Microsoft Word (unknown version) DOCX format from a single source author. My actions on original document include: deleting images set in tables, converting images to be locked to PAGE, re-formating table contents justifying to centre/centre and centre on page, font changes. Happy to share the screwed file but will be off-line till 19th Feb. File is attached. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 86329] EDITING: Image crop shouldnt be set to proportionate in Impress/Draw
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86329 tmacalp changed: What|Removed |Added CC||tmac...@gmail.com Whiteboard|bibisectRequest |bibisectednewer --- Comment #9 from tmacalp --- Oddly enough, when I tested this in 4.4.0.3 and current master, only the PREVIEW for a crop is proportional. When you release the mouse button, the resulting crop is not constrained. In fact, holding shift only changes the preview to be non-constrained and the resulting crop is still unconstrained. So it is actually currently impossible to get a constrained crop. So, the following changes need to be made: 1. Fix the constrained behavior to make the preview while dragging consistent with what is actually set. 2. Reverse the shift-constrain behavior, so the default behavior for crop is to NOT be proportionally constrained. Whatever the case, it looks like the new crop interface made it into the bibisect-44 repo. The latest revision in the repo still has the old dialog, so I'll mark this as bibisectednewer. It might be a little tricky to fix this one since, like everything else in LO, a lot of the code touches other behavior. For instance, when adjusting image size was flipped to default to being constrained, it also made moving images constrained as well. My guess is that a similar patch will need to be produced to specifically fix cropping too. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

However, this was only the case for content newly inserted into cells, i.e.: * The bug occurs when I do the following: 1) create a new calc sheet 2) insert "abcdefgh" into cell A1 3) copy the content of A1 to A2 4) replace the lower-case "e" in A2 by an upper-case "E" 5) confirm (by pressing "Return" or clicking into another cell) * The bug does not occur when I do the following: 1) open an existing file that has "abcdefgh" in A1 and A2 2) do steps 4 and 5 from above Therefore this does not seem to be a regression between the mentioned versions (except the bug had been fixed reintroduced after having been fixed). [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89026] New: The text in dropdown buttons (like linespacing and kerning) are not editable using the keyboard when selecting a custom value
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89026 Bug ID: 89026 Summary: The text in dropdown buttons (like linespacing and kerning) are not editable using the keyboard when selecting a custom value Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: franciscoadriansanc...@gmail.com As the title describes, when selecting a "custom" linespacing or kerning value it isn't possible to manually set a specific value. It's only possible to select a value with the arrows of the text box, or the mouse well. This affects the sidebar buttons from LibO 4.2 and above and also the new linespacing button in the format toolbar in LibO 4.4. Steps to reproduce: 1) Create a new text document 2) Using the sidebar, change the paragraph linespacing (or a word kerning) into "custom". It could be "proportional", "fixed", etc, for linespacing, or any option that seems to let you fix a value in the textbox. For kerning, any of the 2 options (expanded/condensed) are the same. 3) Try to type a specific value in the textbox Actual results: Although the cursor changes into "input text", the textbox isn't clickeable and is not possible to set a specific value. Expected It should be possible to set a specific value, as when opening the format dialog window. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89022] New: Libreoffice Crashes when duplex printing
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89022 Bug ID: 89022 Summary: Libreoffice Crashes when duplex printing Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.0.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Printing and PDF export Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: myemail...@tampabay.rr.com I cannot print in duplex mode from Writer or Draw. The print progress bar shows page two and then freezes. Using various documents makes no difference. I have not tried printing from Impress, Base or Calc. This computer is an HP Pavilion dv7 AMD processor. Operating system is Linux Mint 17 64bit. Front side only printing seems to work as expected. PDA export works as expected. I have this same operating system and version of Libreoffice on a Dell Inspiron Desktop with Intel processor. Opening and printing the same documents in duplex mode works correctly. I have tried duplex printing on 3 different printers with the same result, so I think I can rule out printer drivers. This is an upgrade from Libreoffice 4.2.x. Accomplished by adding Libreoffice ppa to software sources. I have also uninstalled and re-installed Libreoffice on this computer with no change. I am hopeful that this can be resolved. I have been using Libreoffice for several years and rely on it as our sole word processing program for our office. It is a great program. I like the new features of 4.4 and hope it is not necessary to revert to an earlier version. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Here is Jonas' list as of mid-2013. http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/starmath/visual-editor-todo Some folks have poked at its pieces, but no dev since Jonas' initial GSoC work in 2010 has really dug in to move the Visual formula editor along. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89014 Jay Philips changed: What|Removed |Added CC||philip...@hotmail.com Blocks||65138 Summary|Suggestions for Sidebar |SIDEBAR: Sidebar function |function while working at |while working at half of |half of screen (e.g. while |screen (e.g. while working |working with two LO |with two LO sessions) |sessions) | --- Comment #4 from Jay Philips --- Hey Ajinkya, Thanks for dropping your suggestion in. :D So presently with the sidebar fully open, it has a size of approximately 270 pixels or more if you are on the properties tab. So if i resized LO's window to half of my screen width, the sidebar would take up half of the available window space. So in order to save a step for a user to have to hide the sidebar, it would be useful for the sidebar to fully collapse or collapse to just showing the sidebar tab buttons. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75614 tmacalp changed: What|Removed |Added CC||tmac...@gmail.com --- Comment #8 from tmacalp --- Well, the good news is that this isn't exactly prebibisect. The bad news is that it is very difficult to bibisect. Occasionally, under some miracle conditions, this document will not crash and will successfully load the document. Sometimes it can take me over 100 tries. Other versions/attempts never seem to be able to load the file. I have no idea what would be causing the file to load sometimes, but not others. I've been making use of a while loop to run LO repeatedly until it actually loads. I've tried adjusting for other factors by wiping my config directory, removing the document lock file, and cleaning the bibisect directory in between every launch, but nothing seems to help with the crashes. I attempted to perform an actual bibisect, but I keep running into situations where I can never actually launch the document. I can at least limit the problem commit to somewhere between "last40onmaster" and "last41onmaster," but that's still a range 108 revisions. I was able to somehow launch both of those versions and the "last40onmaster" revision had the full text, while "last41onmaster" showed the current cut-off behavior. All I know is that I've racked up 2606 segfaults in my syslog testing this one. But I might be doing something stupid and someone else might have better luck bibisecting, so I'll leave the whiteboard status as bibisectRequest. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89020 Bug ID: 89020 Summary: Insert point cursor in wrong position in Impress Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Presentation Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: louis.steinber...@gmail.com Created attachment 113032 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=113032&action=edit odp presentation that reproduces the bug Insertion point cursor is in the wrong place. macOSX 10.7.5, LibreOffice Version: 4.3.5.2 (Cannot run 4.4 in osx 10.7) Build ID: 3a87456aaa6a95c63eea1c1b3201acedf0751bd5 TO reproduce: - start a new LibreOffice running - open bad-cursor.odp (attached) - maximize the window - go to page 2 - click on '//' Insertion point appears to be in the middle of the /. Also out of position for many other characters, but more subtly so. I have seen it off by several character widths, but cannot reproduce that. This has been going on since 4.3, maybe 4.2, but I only today managed to make it reproducible. Sometimes I cannot insert at all - mouse pointer stays as the arrow instead of insert-bar, but I cannot reproduce this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87643] SIDEBAR: New Shapes Tab and content panels
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87643 --- Comment #6 from Jay Philips --- (In reply to Viko Adi Rahmawan from comment #4) > Just an idea inspired by basic shape dropdown in standard toolbar, > how if instead of just basic shape it changed to show all available shape > preferably grouped and have recently used. > this is how MSWord insert toolbar is. The creation of a split/drop down button for shapes has been suggested in bug 84350. > this way drawing toolbar can be hidden and user doesnt need to change > sidebar pane back and fort between properties and shape if they want to draw > and change properties This argument was discussed in bug 84350 as well and having a constantly visible toolbar or sidebar when you need to add multiple different shapes has an advantage over a split/drop-down button. The design team discussed last week about this sidebar panel and Kendy suggested that the sidebar tab also have the ability to set the shape's area and border colors from the sidebar, which is possible to set in the line and filling toolbar before a shape is drawn. So it would be useful to copy the 'fill' entry from the area properties section and the 'width' and 'color' entries from the line properties section, and these entries would only effect newly drawn shapes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
