2015-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90669

Bug ID: 90669
Summary: Feature Request:Monochrome printing from Calc
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kg_oooh...@ashisuto.co.jp

Created attachment 114849
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114849&action=edit
Attached sample pic

Feature Request:
I request the additional of the same features as the "black-and-white print" of
Excel.
For example,if you set the "black and white" from the print properties, the
background color will be printed in gray.
I want to print with no background color.

Best regards.

(In reply to Joel Madero from comment #9)
> I have no idea where you got "tedious" or "slow" language.

Straight out of the "Bug Priority Triage Flowchart Suggestion" chart listed on
the document foundation.org:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/0/06/Prioritizing_Bugs_Flowchart.jpg

Going through it, it says "Does bug cause crash, loss of data, inability to
install [...]?" My answer was "no".

Next is "Does bug involve a serious glitch such as tediously slow [...]?" My
answer was "yes", it then points to "Major, High".

> This is a normal bug. Resetting the importance.
>
> Normal - can prevent high quality/professional quality work.
> High - I'll leave the high since it's a regression and bibisected.

I have no problem with your changing it, I am not an expert in setting the
priority, just trying to follow the given instructions and appreciate your
experience and help setting it correctly. Although I might be misinterpreting
what it says, I do suggest someone investigate if the flowchart is outdated or
has wording problems and might need revision, replacement, or removal.

> If it's affecting your clients - I highly suggest (as I have before) getting
> paid L3 support.

I am not sure if you are confusing "thin clients", with "clients" from my
comment. I have no clients. As for paid L3 support, I have no access to funds
to do so. So I try to contribute in other ways which I can, including testing,
filing bug reports, encouraging co-workers to do the same, promoting
LibreOffice and FOSS and open standards, training people to use LO and
associated software, answering questions on several FOSS related forums,
personal contributions to the EFF and local user groups, etc.

Bug ID: 90668
Summary: EDITING: No color border when reference more than 31
cells
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yanjing...@gmail.com

Created attachment 114846

Calc_No_Border

When I edit a cell reference more than 31 cells, the cells later than 31 do not
have color border.

Step:
1. Input something in A1 to A40
2. Input this in C27 and press Enter:
=A1+A2+A3+A4+A5+A6+A7+A8+A9+A10+A11+A11+A12+A13+A14+A15+A16+A17+A18+A19+A20+A21+A22+A23+A24+A25+A26+A27+A28+A29+A30+A31+A32+A33+A34+A35+A36+A37+A38+A39+A40
3. Double click C27

You can see in Cell A1 to A31, they have color border, in Cell A32 to A40, they
don't have any border.

Maybe color is not enough, but maybe it can show black border?

the tabs dissapears.
When I try to put manually using the index editor with another tab the "Tab
position relative to paragraph style indent" doesn't work.

Sorry for my english.

Setting to High/Minor, as suggested.

For what it's worth, I try to use your bug priority triage flowchart whenever
I'm attempting to prioritize ANY bug, including my own. According to that
flowchart, loss of data or crashes warrant critical or blocker status, not
major.

Please don't set the priority for your own bugs - there is no way to be
objective about it.

IMHO:

Minor - can slow down but will not prevent high quality work;
High - serious enough regression to be pushed to high

I'm not going to change this one as I don't want to get in some screaming war

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90666] New: FILEOPEN takes 60-70 seconds for LibreOffice Draw

2015-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90666

Bug ID: 90666
Summary: FILEOPEN takes 60-70 seconds for LibreOffice Draw
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: markus.kra...@posteo.de

Created attachment 114843

The odg files that takes 60-70 sec to open on Windows

Hello,
after working very well, some files, among them the attached file, cause
LibreOffice Draw 4.4.2.2 to freeze for 60-70 seconds on opening.

Only a new, very simple files is opening normally/fast.

I killed LibreOffice Draw about 4 times and removed the .~lock.___.odg# files.
I have reinstalled LibreOffice 4.4.2.2
On MacOS 10.6, the same file is opening fine.

What else can I do?

Thank you
Markus

This is really bad on thin clients (and remote use through ssh), and worse in
scope than my somewhat similar bug 88678. The behavior is easy to replicate
and affects all documents with graphics added (not just at certain zoom
levels).

When test scrolling a sample document in 4.1 vs 4.2+, I am seeing more than
double the network bandwidth and CPU load. But the curious part is that
neither resource is anywhere near pegged, so I am not starved of any resource
(on the LO machine or the X11 machine or network) and yet the scrolling still
lags far behind real-time (like there are micro sleeps thrown in). It goes
from very impressive performance to something very poor, in comparison. And
the more images and the bigger they are, the worse the performance becomes.
Very much a regression.

Based on the instructions of how to set bug "Importance", this seems "tediously
slow" and should be marked as high, major which I just changed (please correct
if this is wrong).

the attached data pilot shoud show count 2 values instead of 3 (1 is a
duplicate)

In the data pilot, when choosing the processing to apply to a field, we
currently have sum, number, etc.

However, if the range contains duplicate, the "number" processing is counting
duplicate.

I would like something that doesn't count duplicates.

I can confirm this.
After a quick look at the file, problem is cause by double-quotes just after
the Tan in line 163:

Invalid_Partition_Size"{0}" is no valid partition size. Please use inter

Changing "Text delimiter" to single quote cure the problem.

Example document showing slow scroll behavior

Description:
In LibreOffice 4.4.x, there is a serious rendering performance regression when
viewing items with backgrounds set to an image under Linux. This seems to
affect applying image backgrounds to pages, frames, tables paragraphs, etc...
This is most noticeable when simply scrolling up/down with the mouse wheel, but
also affects typing or any type of editing. While using certain documents, it
is quite noticeable when running LO locally, it can make using LO painful over
a LAN, and practically unusable across the internet.

I discovered this behavior while looking at bug 88678. While this might be
somewhat similar, I'm pretty confident that this is a different bug. It also
seems similar to bug 89204 with poor rendering performance when any images that
are NOT a background are inserted.

I've attached a simple example file that contains a frame with its background
set to an image.

I've bibisected:

Hi.

When someone goes to a typography site to check the fonts existing there, it is
possible to write a few words to see how they would appear in every available
font at the same time to compare them. But in LibreOffice, you have to manually
select the text and then font you want, one after one, after one...LibreOffice
could include a similar "font preview" function? As an addition, in that
function, the text could editable and each font could be "turned on or off" to
compare only the ones that matter...

Interesting. This bug appears to affect all bitmaps, even those chosen from
the list.

Also, bug 82784 can add confusion to those testing this bug for those
attempting to fix the 100% transparency in frames with an image set as the
background. If you use the normal frame properties dialog and visit the Area
tab, the bitmap list will change your custom image to the first item in the
list, "Blank." At that point, the background really will be white.

I'm guessing other people testing this bug were fixing the transparency by
using the sidebar?

Bug ID: 90661
Summary: EDITING: Drag from Navigator "As Copy" or "As Link"
doesn't work starting with Libo 4.4+
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.0.3 release

OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ray.ouelle...@sympatico.ca

Close to bug 43023 [https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43023],
it is now impossible (or at least inconsistent) to drag from the navigator as
copy or as link from document A to documewnt B.

The result is an empty section (a rectangular empty box). You can't undo the
drag (as shown in bug 43023) and you need to use the format menu > section, to
remove the section (or via the navigator > section > edit).

This is a regression as I can drag as hyperlink, as link or as copy in pre 4.4
LibreOffice (4.3 and less). Tested with the same documents on 4.4.x and 4.3.x
under Ubuntu Linux 64 bits. I use the official TDF deb packages and not the
distro's one.

>

No, the "Arrow Style" command button remains on the Drawing Object Properties
toolbar. Once a line is created, the end style can be directly assigned.

With the Line command button globally available, the Arrow Style command button
is available on the Drawing Objects Properties to directly style both ends of
any line. And the Arrow Style command button can also be added to any active
toolbar with a customization: Customize Toolbar -> Add from the "Format"
category.

> As you said, "Connectors" appears only in Draw and Impress. Should they do
> the same in Calc and Writer too?

No, Calc is not the UI/UX here, this is an enhancement for Writer.

The grouped "Lines and Arrows" or "Connectors" sets of predefined line styles
are not currently exposed to Writer (just to Draw and Impress). So, this is
about making those collections of styled lines directly available in the Writer
module from a suitable toolbar location. They would then be of some general use
there (as opposed to working in Draw with a copy/paste of the objects into
Writer).

> I observe that clicking on "Points" icon from "Drawing toolbar" in Calc
> doesn't bring up any additional toolbar which does in all the other 3
> applications. Is this anything to be worried about too?

Worried? No. But off topic.

I tried reproducing from scratch in LibO 4.4, following in your footsteps by
pasting "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." and then doing the
changes.

My results were much cleaner.

Very minimal style definitions:

.P1 { font-size:12pt; font-family:Liberation Serif; writing-mode:page; }
.T1 { font-style:italic; }

{ }

No sign of the monstrous span soup breaking words apart:

The quack brownish fax jumps over the lazy dog again.

However, with htmltidy I got the same "Character codes 128 to 159 (U+0080 to
U+009F) are not allowed in HTML;"

I'll change this report to be about those.

I have a spreadsheet with about 300 sheets and each sheet contains some data
and formula calculating the mean and the standard deviation of the data. It
takes about 25-30 seconds to save the file every time, even after a minor
change of a cell.

I am using LibreOffice 4.2.7.2 on Ubuntu 14.04.

If I convert the same file into MS Excel .xlsx format then open it in MS Office
in Windows, the file can be saved instantly after a minor change.

all related to the importer of Word 6.0 documents, and all related to numbered
lists. See the attached document. This should look like the attached screenshot
of Word 6.0.

Problems:

Currently in LO, the two lines in the headers are numbered (2. and 3.). They
should not be numbered.

Currently in LO, the first line in the body is numbered (1.). It should not be
numbered.

Currently in LO, the following lines are numbered 2., 3., 4. etc. They should
form a list starting with 15. (followed by 16., 17. etc.).

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90656

Bug ID: 90656
Summary: Metadata in Word 6 imported with wrong encoding
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: filters and storage
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: k...@huftis.org

Created attachment 114826
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=114826&action=edit
Sample document, which is rendered incorrectly in LibreOffice

The metadata (document properties) of imported Word 6.0 documents seems to have
the wrong character encoding, rendering all non-ASCII characters as black
question mark character.

I’ll attach an example, a screenshot of how it looks in LibreOffice and one of
how it should look (i.e., how it looks in Word 6.0).

Basically, document title is shown using a field (placed in the header). It
should say: ‘Men takene mine får du aldri, svar på spørsmål’. But in
LibreOffice, it is rendered as ‘Men takene mine fr du aldri, svar p
sprsml’. The latter is also what is shown under ‘File → Properties’. So it
looks like it’s a problem with *importing* of Word 6.0 documents, not of
rendering fields.

The characters that are incorrectly rendered are the non-ASCII characters (å
and ø, both available in ISO 8859-1).

(The document also has other rendering bugs, but I’ll file separate bug reports
for this.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 82784] bitmap list in Area dialog must not have pre-selection, when called from a shape with background image

2015-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=82784

tmacalp changed:

   What|Removed |Added

It appears that this bug affects more than just Draw. As of LO 4.4, this bug
affects ANY LO object that allows for setting the area to an image.

For instance, in Writer, this affects applying an image background to page,
header, footer, paragraph, frame, table, etc...

This regression is really quite nasty. Basically, once you've set an object's
area to an image, the only way to open the object's properties dialog without
losing that image is to somehow open the dialog without landing on the area
tab. Since the dialog remembers your last tab, I guess a work-around is to
open the dialog, click another tab, cancel, and then reopen the dialog. But
that is a lot of extra work.

The more I think about it, the more I think merging the fill types of "Bitmap"
with "Image" into a single tab is a mistake. There may be a lot of overlap
with their settings, but it's unintuitive, cludgy, and currently broken.

I'm upping the priority from Normal->Major because it is extremely difficult to
set object properties from the dialog without losing data (your image). It's
also a regression that now affects multiple components.

This should probably be moved from Draw to something more generic, UI?

I get the same result as Gabriel in 4.4, zooming and all.
In Image viewer (eog) 3.12.2, 100% zoom shows the right side of the letter a in
sl33v51a slightly inside the edge of the container. With 200% zoom, there is
padding between a and the edge.

Exported with an old version (3.6.7), the SVG has other issues, font is
different and the title text is placed too high. Also, it tends to crash eog..
However, when playing with the zoom in Firefox, the letter a in the
3.6.7-exported SVG stays put in relation to the edge.

In an SVG exported from 4.2.0, the jumping sl33v51a is already present.

I'm marking this as a regression.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90651] Arrow tool in draw function toolbar in Writer

Libreoffice Version: 4.2.7.2
Build ID: 420m0(Build:2)

Platform Ubuntu 14.04.2 (x86)

Hi!

@M Henri Day
I can use the "arrow tool" after drawing a "Line" using "Drawing toolbar" in -
Draw
Impress
Calc
Writer

with no difficulty. Did the reported version 4.4.2 lose this ability?

@V Stuart Foote
As you said, "Connectors" appears only in Draw and Impress. Should they do the
same in Calc and Writer too?

I observe that clicking on "Points" icon from "Drawing toolbar" in Calc doesn't
bring up any additional toolbar which does in all the other 3 applications. Is
this anything to be worried about too?

Yes, the patch doesn't make anything worse, so I pushed it through now. But
I'd still highly recommend to get a proper fix for

"Make SvtHistoryOptions not return files if they can't be opened." (And even
on GNOME you only use nfs URLs when accessing NFS via GVFS, not when mounting
it into the filesystem.)

2015-04-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon

A similar problem exists with the Navigator menu. If I use the sidebar
navigator to move among headings in my document, the (horizontal) Navigator
menu (comprising only two icons: back and forward) pops up and steals a quarter
inch of my screen height. Using the View|Toolbars menu to hide the
(horizontal) Navigator does not solve this problem. It does, initially, hide
the menu, but as soon as I change headings in the sidebar, it pops up again.
