https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48353 Joachim Otahal j...@gmx.net changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |FIXED --- Comment #11 from Joachim Otahal j...@gmx.net --- As far as I can see it is kind of fixed in LibreOffice 4.4.2. If is fixed as long as far as .docx is concerned. When checking the .docx documents version after the reproduce this way steps it is cleanly removed and not there, so it is indeed fixed on the save as .docx layer. (Step 1 to 5 documents) When checking the .odt versions of the document Libreoffice never cleans up the unused style:name=P2 styles setting in the content.xml (step 4). It should though. However it will save it much cleaner when using the cleaned up Step 5.docx and save it as .odt again (Step 6). So it is fixed as far as the .docx bug initially reported is concerned. You're welcome. No guarantee for future experiences though ;) :) Every appendix will have a lot of pages and subheaders. Every (appendix) page needs to have Appendix number and some extra text displayed in the header. Hence my suggestion : you can place a cross reference to the title in the header ;) Well, since the title is in the header of the Appendix it would be a self-reference. I think with that it's fair to set this WorksForMe. [SNIP] If I really see this wrong: do reopen and give appropriate details. While my example might not be best one out there I would still say this a bug waiting to be stumbled upon. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91058 Bug ID: 91058 Summary: Show styles by means of subtle text background colours EDITING: Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.7.2 rc Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: c...@chrblee.net During correpondence with Henrik Just about his export filters Writer2latex and Writer2HTML (ePub variant), we discussed the importance of attaching a style to every element of a document and verifying that that has been done. This matters also for the eLAIX eBook exporter and more broadly for any usage where a template must be followed. Henrik showed that a developer like him can make style-specific background colours that can be switched on and off as required. I propose that this function be provided as standard. Ideally, the colours should be quite faint, one base colour for each style family, perhaps with variations of pattern or colour for the individual styles. Patterns of thin vertical or horizontal lines would enable, for example, character and paragraph styles to be indicated without mutual interference. Usually, not many styles are used in a given document so the range of colours should not be an issue, and their (automatic?) assignments could easily be identified from the Styles panel. Users would soon get used to checking a page just by glancing at it. The only slight difficulty I forsee is with list styles in paragraph styles. These can't be removed or changed without going elsewhere than the Styles panel to turn off Bullets Numbering, so there may be scope for the pretty colour scheme to get confused. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

This results in some text being ridiculously shrunk. * Not only that, but it is comparing apples to oranges; original font ascent/descent with the bounding box of the fallback glyphs, which results in different scale ratios depending on the shape of the glyphs at hand, which leads to all sorts of funny and irregular text. * Even worse, the PDF export is completely broken in this case; it uses the scaled down glyph widths but the unscaled font size, resulting in cramped unreadable text. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Also, there is a difference from LO3.3.0 when you click the icon: LO3.3 opens a web browser displaying file:///opt/libreoffice_3.3.0.4/basis3.3/share/template/en-US/internal/url_transfer.htm (on my system), which has a message explaining how to *create* a hyperlink. So maybe this square icon was intended to be some kind of help function ?? LO4.4 just opens http://; when you click the icon; there is no file namedurl_transfer.htm in the 4.4 distribution, so maybe there's a packaging glitch and the http://; is some kind of fall-back behavior (if so, it would be more helpful to show a message listing the missing file name and/or where to find it online). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
