[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90597] TRACK CHANGES: Uno command for accepting/rejecting change without jumping to next change

2015-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90597

I'm finding my workaround is working quite well, since in areas where there are
many changes, there's often no need for me to temporarily introduce a spurious
change just to prevent the scrolling.

I do notice that there's one small improvement that would further help: if I
select a range of text that includes changes, I can right click to bring up the
context menu to accept or reject all the changes within. (That's an excellent
feature, BTW.) But the Accept/Reject buttons on the Changes toolbar are greyed
out: I think it would be a nice enhancement if they could be made available
directly from there with a single click (instead of requiring: right-click,
drag to option, release).

Would you prefer I submitted that as a separate enhancement, however?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90597] TRACK CHANGES: Uno command for accepting/rejecting change without jumping to next change

2015-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90597

I wish someone could find time to work on this enhancement (or even
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38726) - it's desperately
needed, for the production of high quality documents. When tracking changes, a
document can quickly become so messy with the visible deltas that you can't see
what it would look like with the changes applied. And if you do accept the
changes, LO then automatically jumps to the next change, so in general you have
a lot of scrolling to do to locate what you just did, and you lose the "visual
diff" you'd get from your own short-term memory at seeing the changes applied.

It makes what should be a simple task, enormously difficult.

I tried simply turning off "Show changes", and using the new Changes toolbar to
move from change to change. It's not ideal, though, as there is only an
indication of a specific tiny change, so you get no indication of whether there
are any other changes nearby. I also discovered that if you accept a change,
then it also turns the Show Changes back on. Nor can you see and accept a
whole bunch of changes in one operation.

The workaround I've had to adopt is to introduce a spurious change somewhere
below a set of changes I wish to accept/reject (like adding a space at the end
of a paragraph below), then selecting the text before that, then right-clicking
and accepting (or rejecting) changes. I can of course also accept/reject
individual changes as I wish, so this approach gives me as a user excellent
control. If I'm happy with the result, I then delete the just-added space and
move to the next set of changes.

Another option for the extension might be to add 3 more controls on the Manage
Changes dialogue:

Checkbox: turn off automatically advance to next change
Next change button
Previous change button.

Enter "=A1-A2" into A3.
The result is wrong. It should be 4560.42 but it result in 4560.421.
Minor error but it made a difference in my project :-)

Case illustration.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new document.
2. Edit the page style. In text grid tab, set Grid to "Grid (Lines Only)".
3. Insert a table, put some text in the table.
4. Enlarge the row height so that it is easier to observe the alignment.
5. Select the cell and set it to align to center vertically.
6. Select the paragraph and turn off "snap to grid" doesn't work.

Expectation:
When text grid is enabled, the text should be placed to the closest grid line.
In this case, it should be one of the grid line around the cell center in the
table.

2015-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92342

Beluga,
Thanks for caring.

The backups were where they are supposed to be:
C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\backup
(Fill in [User] with user name.)

Yes, there should be more time between them. Only one other file seems to have
been backed up like this, only a few copies, though. Also a Base file.

The originals reside on Dropbox and I am aslo working on those from another
system at a different location (work). Does Base have a problem with Dropbox?

Regards,

Bodvar

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92532] New: Page Setup: Remove (or increase) maximum page size

2015-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92532

Bug ID: 92532
Summary: Page Setup: Remove (or increase) maximum page size
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: wgbhm...@trashmail.com

Draw is currently restricted to a 'user set' maximum page size of 300cm x
300cm. I'd occasionally like to work with wider banner-style doc - I'm working
on one now that would ideally be around 400cm wide, for example.

Please remove (or at least increase) this page size restriction.

Sample drawing

I've created a diagram in Draw, 300cm wide by 29.7cm high - attached (sample
file).

I'm expecting that this will print across multiple pages which I can join
together to create a physical document of this size.

In practice, Draw fails to correctly format the drawing for printing; it only
prints one page, and the dimensions of that page are misinterpreted.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92458] Kill the “Human” theme and integrate “elementary”

Right. I would really not enjoy killing the Human theme, as likely it would
just mean that I would need to carry it as a cumbersome vendor patch anyway,
just creating lots of pointless work along the way.

What is the point/goal of this anyway? The human theme can be turned off by a
configure switch and IIRC isnt even enabled by default. If the goal is to make
Ubuntu ship a different default, this certainly isnt the way towards that goal
(see above).

If you want a different default in Ubuntu, the way to go about that is filing a
request on launchpad at Ubuntu and get that nodded of by Ubuntus design team.

(As a general note this bug doesnt seem to be too well scoped: it describes no
clear goal and mixes too many things: removing themes, adding themes, changing
defaults with the latter being off-topic here beyond TDF builds.)

Though the human theme isnt bundled by default with libreoffice, it is the
default icon theme used for LO in Ubuntu and its flavours, except Kubuntu, so
i'd assume it would be good to make sure that Canonical doesnt have an issue
with this. I believe Ubuntu uses the human theme as its default icon theme for
its unity desktop, so it maybe important to them to keep that consistency.
CCing Bjoern for his thoughts.

During my work on tango, i have copied a few of human icons into tango that
looked suitable, when tango was falling back on industrial or galaxy. Human
should really be falling back on tango rather than industrial with the amount
of improvements that are going into tango.

Cell G3 contains "Input Help" and the output is truncated by the
WindowFreezeRow between row 4 and 5

In "Calc" when you add "context help" using "Data->Validate->Input Help"
to a cell in a higher row than a "Window->Freeze (Row), the content of the
"Input Help" is truncated at the freeze line.

This IS NOT TRIVIAL as it does not produce a professional looking output - It
looks "broken"...

First noticed in 3.6 Linux and Windows, where I reverted to 3.4 and used this
version ever since.

Still present in 4.4.3.2 under Mac - Not checked under other OS's.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92508] : change table name support functionality not working

2015-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92508

example database illustrating problem

In Tables view, try changing the name of ClipSurvey to e.g. ClipSurvey_foo
(using right-click on name of ClipSurvey, Rename menu item).

You should get a complaint:

"Table is referenced by view: TrainingSet1 in statement [ALTER TABLE
"ClipSurvey" RENAME TO "ClipSurvey_foo"].

Click on OK.

You should get a dialog titled Rename to, with a data field labeled Table Name,
with the contents "ClipSurvey_foo".

If you click on OK, you should get the "Table is referenced ..." alert again -
at least I do. Only way out is to cancel on the Rename dialog (accomplishing
nothing, except a graceful exit).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92509] default value for Boolean in Table not working

2015-07-03 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92509

--- Comment #3 from jimrussell98...@gmail.com ---
Not sure earlier comment update made it into record.

It turns out that the problem is a little more subtle than I appreciated. I had
an existing table with ~180 rows of data. I edited the table definition, adding
several Boolean fields. The value of these fields for all existing rows got set
to No, even though in editing the table I had accepted the default of
for default value.

On the other hand, if I subsequently add a new row, its default values are all
handled correctly.

So, it is only during editing of the table definition, not during "normal" data
entry, that the incorrect default value is inserted. That is, this is a
narrower (but still real) problem than I realized.

Note: The special symbols dialog windows are resizeable, zooming the characters

Fixed, also the following regressions: (1) crash when clicking on the Edit

(not only in the starmath Edit Symbols window, but the inserting special

OK so on my F22 system which shows KDE as version 5 I re-installed the kde
integration rpm and yes the artifacts do indeed come back. I also checked and
although I was using Oxygen I am not using the GTK but the QT5 version. I
changed it to the standard Fedora 22 layout in desktop theme, I also tried Air
and Breeze and everytime I get the artifacts.

After inserting a column before A, the "Formula" column row 7 has: =SUM(B7:C7)

Debugger trace is pretty useless =) I guess some exception is thrown and
(during the catching of that and (hopefully) some helpful error output) - we
manage to hork ourselves in the rtl_bootstrap_code.

As a paragon of efficiency - the code here is quite amazingly poor - each
incremental circle appears to take ~300Kb of memory - which is ... frankly
amazing. No idea what python and librelogo and (of course) the drawing-layer
are managing to do between themselves to leak quite that much.

So - this is some OOM corner-case IMHO. I see no evidence that this is a
regression - so dropping the keyword.

Installed the profile into my dev-build; I get:

vcl/opengl/win/WinDeviceInfo.cxx:914: error parsing blacklist

but that looks benign; and no crash on tools->options ... looked around a lot
... 'ok', file->exit and ... nothing.

Then again it doesn't appear to exit terribly cleanly either; digging.

Random accessibility related warning, almost certainly of no real interest =)

vcl/unx/gtk/a11y/atkutil.cxx-case
accessibility::AccessibleEventId::INVALIDATE_ALL_CHILDREN:
vcl/unx/gtk/a11y/atkutil.cxx:g_warning( "Invalidate all children
called\n" );
vcl/unx/gtk/a11y/atkutil.cxx-break;

I guess we are missing a mapping to the native platform atk /toolkit for this
event:

void DocumentFocusListener::notifyEvent( const
accessibility::AccessibleEventObject& aEvent )
throw( uno::RuntimeException, std::exception )

has no code; same warning on OS/X ... discuss =)
