https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92620 Bug ID: 92620 Summary: Password protected Macro lenght limited Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.3.2 release Hardware: x86 (IA32) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: BASIC Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: a.nard...@gmail.com Created attachment 117122 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=117122action=edit Error during password protecting macro I prepared a complex macro made of about 50 subs with about 5300 lines of code (about 20 characters). When I try to password protect it I receive an error indication related to the fact that the library seems to be too large to be stored in a binary format. So it is impossible to protect it without splitting it in smaller modules. This are the steps I follow to obtain the problem: (I use the italian version of Libreoffice) 1. Strumenti - Macro - Organizza Macro - LibreOffice Basic... 2. Gestione 3. Librerie Then from the Posizione drop down menù I select my spreadsheet name (I created a library other than the standard one) then I select the library name and clic on Password button. Then I insert new password and I confirm it. Then click on OK button then clic on Chiudi button and then on Chiudi button again. Then I try to save the file with name and I obtain the following attached error. The error is present also in version 4.4.4.3 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92617] New: Base is crashing frequently when EDITING data and switching Forms
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92617 Bug ID: 92617 Summary: Base is crashing frequently when EDITING data and switching Forms Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.4.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: Base Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: t...@tim-passingham.co.uk Created attachment 117119 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=117119action=edit An extract of the ubuntu crash report In bug #70703 I had regular crashes switching forms. That was fixed. However, the same symptom has now resurfaced, but it appears to be a slightly different cause since my demo of that crash does not crash in 4.4.4.3. I'm running MariaDB (10.0.20) and Libreoffice from the Ubuntu 14.04 ppas. The crashes usually occur when I have entered or modified data in a form which has been invoked from a series of previous forms, close that one and automatically expect to see the previous one show again. I use Basic macros to provide a type of modal user interface for the application. To explain briefly, it is a music catalogue, where I have a record set (eg one or more CDs), with several performances, on tracks, of pieces and/or parts of pieces. I can therefore view the record set, edit/add a performance or an existing or new piece, and return back to the record set and see that it now has a new track on it. There are quite a few bells and whistles. A number of forms and sub-forms are involved, and a number of tables and queries. My suspicion is that it is a GUI problem, as opposed to a Database problem, but I could well be wrong. I have some .xsession-errors but they are not time-stamped so I can't match them up with the syslog and may well be unrelated. I am well aware that this is insufficient information to help diagnose the problem(s). Supplying a copy of a fully populated database and instructions on how to use a non-trivial application, with inconsistent results, is, however, not very practical. I have run this in the debug version, and have a ubuntu crash report. That's over 40MB, so not very practical to upload here. I have therefore edited it to remove the core dump and attached that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92616] New: PIVOTTABLE: Grouped Column Fields problems including with drill to details
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92616 Bug ID: 92616 Summary: PIVOTTABLE: Grouped Column Fields problems including with drill to details Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.5.2 release Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: a...@patternjugglers.co.nz Created attachment 117118 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=117118action=edit Sample workbook with data and multiple demonstroatin pivottables Sorry, but there may be multiple issues rolled into this. -I'm also aware that Pivottables are typically for brave souls only. This arose in assisting a user with an existing Pivottable, but I have replicated with a simpler example. Original issues were on 4.3.5.2, detailed testing done on 4.4.3.2 (both windows). The attached example sets out to create grouped columns of 'category', and then drill to details within these. Step 1: Basic table with 'Category' in Columns, 'Type' in Rows, and Value in data. Issue 1: Enable Drill to Details hidden and unchecked by default. IME Drill to details is fairly standard expected behaviour - is there a performance advantage to disabling it? Once 'Enable Drill to Details' is checked, drilling works as expected prior to any grouping being attempted. Step 2: Attempt to Group the columns so that a1,a2,a3 are together, b1,b2,b3 are together. -Select column headings a1,a2,a3 and then DataGroup and OutlineGroup Issue 2: Grouping does not work AT ALL if the 'Category' field is beneath the 'Data' field in the 'Edit Layout' dialog (which is the only place you can place it. To remedy this you need to either demote or delete the 'Data' field. The sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_1' has been left in the ungroupable state. The sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_2' has been fixed by removing the 'Data' field Step 3: Drill to details -Double-click on values in sheet sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_2' to show rows of original data in new sheet Issue 3: Cannot drill into values in a non-grouped column. In the example sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_2' categories a1/a2/a3 and b1/b2/b2 are each grouped and category c1 is not grouped. No groups are collapsed. Double-clicking on Cell B4 will not drill. Cell C4 will drill. The sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_3' is a direct copy of sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_2', except with category c1 grouped (into a group of 1). Issue 4: Attempt to rename Group causes Group to vanish. The sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_4' is a direct copy of The sheet 'Pivot Table_Data_3'. I edited Cell B2 which contained the header for Group1, to attempt to rename it 'Group of A'. At this stage the entire group of records disappears. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Please check the following link: https://web.archive.org/web/20141008170023/http://www.mathjax.org/demos/copy-and-paste/ Notice how MSWord can integrate with MathML generated with MathJax via Import and Copy and Paste. We request that LibreOffice integrate with MathML generated with MathJax via Import and Copy and Paste. If you have MSWord then you can use it and see how the MathJax syntax functions within the Word processor to generate accurate and beautiful formulas, functions, and math! MathJax Syntax MathJax uses LaTeX syntax to display math notations. For inline math, enclose the LaTeX syntax in dollar signs ($). For displayed math, enclose the syntax with two dollar signs ($$). For example, to display x squared inline (x2) type $ x^2 $ or type $$ x^2 $$ Syntax for MathJax can be found at the following Web address: http://www.suluclac.com/Wiki+MathJax+Syntax The ability to enhance and/or modify the existing MathML features of LibreOffice to work with MathJax would greatly impact the usage and desirability of LibreOffice. You will also find how MathJax and its syntax is used in the next two Web addresses: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h7mMFFWer0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TairRxyy_Hs LibreOffice often is NOT used because IT DOES NOT support this extremely useful and important math functionality! ( See: http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/25223/embed-latex-math-equations-into-microsoft-word for additional information on MathJax usage in Word. Please note that LaTeX is not as easily used for the purpose of cross-application-integration. For example, we can generate the desired MathML based on MathJax syntax and implement it in Word or on the Web or within publications, etc! ) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92628] New: EDITING: Double click in formula sometimes gets wrong word boundaries
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92628 Bug ID: 92628 Summary: EDITING: Double click in formula sometimes gets wrong word boundaries Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.4.3 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: eugene...@gmail.com Created attachment 117132 -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=117132action=edit Speadsheet with example formula for testing double click word boundaries When double clicking a cell reference inside a formula, sometimes the wrong word boundaries are used resulting in more being selected than expected. Specifically, if the cell reference is followed by numbers, the cell reference and the numbers end up being selected, instead of just the cell reference. In the spreadsheet attached, the formula =IF(A3=,,IF(LEN(A3)=135,A3,IF(LEN(A3)=260,LEFT(A3,SEARCH( ,A3,125)),LEFT(A3,SEARCH( ,A3,130) is used as an example. Double clicking the cell reference A3 works as expected in most cases. Double clicking the A3 cell reference in the SEARCH() functions results in A3,125 or A3,130 being selected instead of just A3 being selected as would be expected. As a work around, adding a space after the comma (i.e. SEARCH( ,A3, 130)) makes double clicking work as expected. I think it's always been like that. the cursor changes into bucket in order to paint the text you select later. 4. Click and drag over some text to apply font color. 5. Right-click on the page and the font-color is undone. Further right-clicks undo the typed text! = Certainly unexpected! Without applying the font color, right-clicking doesn't undo the text. This behaviour is optional in GTK+2, but is now mandated in GTK+3 and cannot be disabled - the underlines are only shown and only functional while the Alt key is held. This functionality is missing from LibreOffice. I have added it as best I can to the 4.3.3 branch (used in Debian Jessie) - this seems to work and to behave as GTK+3.0 does. There are also a few related bugfixes for inconsistent UI behaviour in LibreOffice, such as in some cases accelerator keys working in windows whether or not Alt is held. I've pushed the changes onto the 4.3.3 branch in gerrit - https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/16868 I don't have the time to merge these with the master branch, but they (or something offering the same functionality) ought to be integrated in order to match the behaviour and appearance of GTK+ 3.0 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Find the item in menu Tools in the Equation Editor module. As LibreOffice cannot natively render MathML, the import is transformed to StarMath. That has some known problems. -- Your description is still not clear. Perhaps you need to separate it into different issues. I guess you have the following wishes; correct me, where I'm wrong: (1) If the clipboard content has suitable MathML, then LibreOffice should offer paste-special and insert a formula immediately. [That has a performance problem, because you can only know, whether the content can be transformed, when you try to transform it.] (2) If you are in formula editing mode and the clipboard content has suitable MathML, than allow to paste it. [That have I done, see above. For MathML the parser and a piece of code, that transforms MathML to StarMath already exists for file import and 'only' need to be used for clipboard too. MathML is the language, which is specified for Formulas in OpenDocument.] (3) LibreOffice should offer to import clipboard content, which is actually Tex or Latex. (4) Allow to write Tex or Latex and transform it on demand into StarMath. But I do not see, what is the role of MathJax in all this. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 91340] Multiple selection with text objects should not allow text editing inside one object
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91340 --- Comment #6 from MarjaE erw...@alumni.beloit.edu --- I read your report. I don't understand it. I doubt you understand my concerns. When selecting more than one object, selecting text inside any object should be disabled! I am not suggesting to disable text editing in general. Only when selecting more objects when text editing does not apply to all objects. I would need to completely give up on LibreOffice Draw if this were implemented. I need to be able to edit text. I need to be able to select a group of groups and edit all the text in all the groups. As it is, the inability to do so, except by creative use of undo, makes it much harder to use LibreOffice. It is a nightmare to have to individually edit each text frame. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88709] Allow Multiple References to Same Footnote
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88709 Frank fobe...@enteract.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||fobe...@enteract.com --- Comment #8 from Frank fobe...@enteract.com --- I also use the cross reference to make additional references to the same footnote, but haven't experienced any problems having it update when other footnotes are inserted prior. But, I sure like Heiko Tietze's suggestion to have special treatment for footnote cross references. I suspect all it would need to do is automatically use the current character style for footnote references when such a cross reference was made, or at least offer that as a default and permit Ctrl+Z (or whatever is used for undo) to turn it back into a regular reference. That would save a lot of tedious formatting ...
