[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93131] New: Libraoffice Draw fails to read all the pages inside OpenOffice Draw document

2015-08-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93131

Bug ID: 93131
Summary: Libraoffice Draw fails to read all the pages inside
OpenOffice Draw document
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ishik...@yk.rim.or.jp

This problem is very serious and confused me greatly.

I created an draw file consisting of a dozen or so pages.
They basically contain a few diagrams and texts.

Now, it was done an on a windows 7 (64-bit) PC and I think I used OpenOffice
Draw program.
Sorry for using THAT program, but that was available on THAT PC.

Then when I tried to open it on ANOTHER Windows 7 (64-bit) PC,
the LibreOffice DRAW was configured to open .odg file there.

When I opened the file, though, only the first couple of pages were shown and
no subsequent pages containing graphics, et al, were shown (!?)

I thought I had failed to copy the file to my Dropbox directory where it was
there, and actually travelled to my parent's home where I originally created
the graphics a few times, and still could not find the looked-for pages and
could not find it there also.

So I though I must have screwed up and deleted the file (sigh), and re-created
new graphics file.

But after this ordeal, I just happened to open this using the old file by
OpenOffice DRAW.
VOILA! All the missing pages are suddenly displayed!!!

Now, I can understand the UI difference and functionality difference between
the two office suites after the fork from the original OpenOffice in V3 days.

However, at least, I hope for the DATA COMPATIBILITY between the two suite.

Even if it fails to draw the pages correctly, or cannot open and draw
completely, LibreOffice should at least tell the user that

"There is more data that is shown,
but LIbreOffice cannot render it due to technical difficulty
(or maybe a data incompatibility: USE OpenOffice to open the file first,
and export it in XXYYZ data format so that LibreOffice draw can edit it)"

or something like that.

I feel this is a SERIOUS MAJOR bug that ought to be fixed.

I am not sure if this problem is relate to the following bugs, but from the
description there, I don't think they are:

- Bug 42112 - WMF/EMF from particular DOC file not properly loaded and shapes
not visible (workaround : comment #14)

- Bug 31814 - EMF regression: failure of displaying ChemDraw objects

I can only make the file in question available after Sept 9th since I am going
to use the graphics (actually in the newly created file using Microsoft
PowerPoint, not the original file with this problem) in a conference/workshop,
but once it is done, the original file can be made available.

TIA for your attention.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93131] Libraoffice Draw fails to read all the pages inside OpenOffice Draw document

2015-08-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93131

I think what I wrote was not clear in a key place:

>So I though I must have screwed up and deleted the file (sigh), and re-created
>new graphics file.

I meant to say that I thought I somehow deleted the final version of the edited
file, which contains my final graphics, by mistake because I only saw the
first couple of pages when I opened my .odg files by LibreOffice Draw
and re-created new graphics file.

When I created the graphics file the first time around,
I left a few versions along the way when I created the graphics file and left
file-v02.odg
file-v03.odg
file-v04.odg, etc.

When I opened them by LibreOffice Draw, I only saw the first couple of pages
and not the graphics I thought I had created and quite confused and searched
for everywhere using the search function of Windows on the few PCs!

> But after this ordeal, I just happened to open this using the old file by >
> OpenOffice DRAW.
> VOILA! All the missing pages are suddenly displayed!!!

So just today, I opened the remaining file-v0{2,3,4}.odg, etc. using
OpenDraw without thinking much
and suddenly I saw the graphics I HAVE created and have looked for before
deciding to re-create the graphics afresh.

I am glad that the original graphics has been there all along :-),
but I have re-created them anyway and it took extra time :-(

TIA

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93132] New: Printing on Brother HL-1110

2015-08-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93132

Bug ID: 93132
   Summary: Printing on Brother HL-1110
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.4.3 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: schampail...@skynet.be

Created attachment 117662
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=117662&action=edit
A document my Brother HL 1110 won't print

Hello LO,

when trying to to print to my BROTHER HL-1110 it occurs now and then that I
can't print at all. The problem seems linked to the fact that I embed some
images in the document. Usually a simple document with just one picture fails
to print.

I though it was the picture resolution or picture size that prevented printing
but it doesn't seem to be that. I'd say this bug is related to the complexity
of the picture, but again, I've not much confidence in that.

LibreOffice does the printing fine (it sends the document to CUPS) and then, I
think, CUPS fails to print it. So one might think that CUPS is the cuplrit.
CUPS seems to send the document to the printer correctly as well (no problem
reported on the regular user interface; job marked as completed).

However, if I ask LO to export my document to a PDF, then I can print the PDF
(with the very basic xpdf). So I guess there's something wrong in the way LO
prepares the document for printing.

I've been experiencing that kind of trouble for more than a year, which spans
several versions of LO. So I definitely can live with it, but it gives bad
reputation to LO in my family :-)

I've attached a document which fails to print. The first page prints well, the
second doesn't.You'll notice that the complexity of the second image is higher
: more roads, more stuff.

Running LO on a fairly recent (about 3 months old for most of the packages)
Debian testing.
CUPS version is : 1.5.3 (older than 3 month, but since installing the Brother's
driver was a bit tough, I fear to update CUPS :-))
The printer drivers are rather old (installed when I installed the printer
about a year ago)

Hi Jay, thanks found it, however it's not a View function (it has always been
at a wrong place), either an Edit one or a Slide one. It would be more logical
to have it with New Master and Delete Master.
Also, what about moving the Display functions from the Slide menu to the View
menu?
Will go on after some thoughts :)

Indeed, I installed Windows Explorer Extension with both versions.

In my case the VS2012 redistributable was not installed before installing
5.0.0.5. Nethertheless the parallel versions worked as expected. Hence the
installing of this redis is not unconditionally necessary.

I did some more research: If I save the files msvcr110.dll and msvcp110.dll
before installing version 5.0.0.5 and copy them back to C:\Windows\System32
after installing 5.0.0.5, the parallel version worked as expected at least at
first view. So may be a simple workaround.

Eike, your hint that this problem is mentioned in the wiki is right. In the
moment this hint is not translated into the German version in the wiki. I think
I will do this soon.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93133] New: shift+f3 in calc change wole cell, Order: checking word before changing is necassary, cursor at beginning or end of word

Bug ID: 93133
Summary: shift+f3 in calc change wole cell, Order: checking

   Product: LibreOffice

  Hardware: Other

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: d.des...@gmx.de

P.S. in Libre office calc shift+f3 change all words in the cell, not just the
marked word (or which is the cursor touching). Would be great to change this,
so also single word can be changed

I do not know anybody who really uses shift+f3 in Libre office. it is because
reportet bugs (Especially because of Order of changing from lower case to First
Letter Upper Case to ALL UPPER CASE to all lower case ist not always the same
If the casEs aRe ,MIxed it schould be changed to "all lower case"
So it is necassary that after pressing shift+f3 the case of the letters are
checked. And after they are changed depending of this check.
(At a moment I guess that this check is not done)

This is reported in earlier bug reports (shift+f3) -

Also shift+f3 doesn't react if cursor is at beginning or and of word, This
schould also work and in ircrosoft Office it does

like this oder i and othes do not use!
That is a pity!
It is very comfortable! and in microsoft word i use it regulary and there it is
very good done.It is necassary for languages which uses a ot of Capital Letters
(for example every substantive)
Thanks a lot for yours work!:-)

OK, it is intentional, but personally, checking for updates, I'd rather see

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93136] New: [FILEOPEN] Cannot insert tiff file into draw, reports format being unknown

2015-08-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93136

Bug ID: 93136
Summary: [FILEOPEN] Cannot insert tiff file into draw, reports
format being unknown
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.7.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: matthias.ro...@zeutschel.de

I cannot insert a tiff file into a draw document. Error message is that the
image format is unknown. This is true both when dragging the file into the
program window, or using the menu insert → image → from file. The open dialog
appearing in the second variant explicitly lists tiff files in the file type
select drop-down element, so tiff should be supported. The tiff file was
generated using ImageMagick and opens fine in common programs such as gimp or
irfan view, so the problem seems to be in draw.

It took me hours to find out that the reason was that the tiff file had an
alpha channel. Removing the alpha channel from the image makes it possible to
import it.

Solution should be to change the error message appearing to something
meaningful, like: “Tiff images with an alpha channel are not supported.” − or
make it possible to open them, perhaps by internally converting them to PNG.
PNG files with alpha channels seem to work.

create new 'enum class' SotClipboardFormatId to unify types

of which there are several.

There are some issues here I am unsure of
- the SW and SC and CHART2 modules essentially ignore the enum values
and assign their own ids
Perhaps I should change them to use the common values and create new
enum values where necessary?
- the sc/qa/ and sq/qa/ and starmath/qa/ code was doing some dodgy
stuff. I translated the code to pass down the stuff
numeric values to the underlying code, but perhaps further fixing is
necessary?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93137] New: Document Recovery fails - logical error.

2015-08-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93137

Bug ID: 93137
Summary: Document Recovery fails - logical error.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: kie...@gmail.com

I deleted some cells, Libreoffice crashed (for the 100th time).

The document recovery did not work - a very common thing.

Error Message:

"C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\backup\10
SatFat.ods_0.ods does not exist."

Followed by

"Object not accessible.
The object cannot be accessed
due to insufficient user rights"

And then it goes totally retarded, it recovered nothing, reverted to the
previously saved document, it then pops up a dialogue asking me if I want to
save the already saved file in some directory that I never use!!! And for
some icing on the cake - if I click yes, IT DOESN'T SAVE IT THERE
ANYWAY! In fact it
doesn't save it at all!

Do you have a room with an infinite number of monkeys in writing LibreOffice
code? It's so bad it boggles the mind.

The file name is not called "10 SatFat.ods_0.ods" it is called "10 SatFat.ods"
And none of the files in the backup directory start with "10 SatFat"

Why is

(1) LibreOffice looking for a file that doesn't exist
(2) in a directory that contains no recovery information

It's bad enough that Calc crashes very frequently, but then to lose 10-20 mins
of work is maddening.

LibreOffice should autosave every 60 seconds by default since the document
recovery is so bad. - I've changed my setting to this.

If one creates a bulleted list, presses home to go to the beginning of the line
and then presses left arrow to place focus on the bullet, nothing is spoken by
Orca. It would be nice to have the screen reader speak bullet and even possibly
describe the bullet such as something like "large square bullet."

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37932] Smart art support

2015-08-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37932

What is really painful is trying to edit a presentation in LO when the original
author used SmartArt to generate it in MSO.

The import function isn't smart enough to preserve the full automation, but it
does leave enough "hooks" that editing doesn't work easily as if the objects
were simple text + background images. For example, if I want to edit the text,
I sometimes get an editing box which is 4 characters wide, and 100 lines tall.

The result is that if a slide was generated in smart art, it is much easier to
re-do it from scratch than to edit it.

Comments

This printer does work in Linux using the proprietary driver supplied by
Brother, however there are some issues, namely the fact that I had an "out of
memory" error (many PDF files do not print in standard resolution with this
printer, which has a very limited amount of memory), and in Linux it never
explained what the error was. It simply activated the flashing red LED and
refused to print, while in Windows it displayed the actual error message.

This screenshot shows some documents that display two pages horizontally next
to one another - as if they are glued. No matter what I do, I cannot separate
them to that they display one below the other. BTW, this has nothing to do with
the size of the viewport. I deliberately dragged the viewport smaller to show
you. Usually, when pages display horizontally next to one another and one
reduces the size of the viewport, the documents snap vertically below one
another. This no longer happens in 4.4.4.3

As soon as the last colon in any of the escape text is entered, apart from
replacing it with the appropriate replacement, AutoCorrect also adds a colon in
the end. This might be a bug or a feature (if intended for chaining). If it is
a feature, it would be better to place it as an option, and add it to Writer

I can't remember which file disappeared off to the left-side. But that also
happens to some files.

SUGGESTION: in older word processors (e.g. Ami) one could adjust the margin
size between the viewport frame and the document display frame. That would be a
very useful feature.

  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jnx...@gmail.com

Escape sequences like ":12:30:" exist in the replacement table of AutoCorrect.
However, as soon as the second colon is entered (like ":12:"), the text is
replaced, and no change is made for the last few characters.

Error in CALC-Formula

Hi,

attached please find the File without private Data.

I tracked down the Error to Page 2 (Auswertungen) - Cell D28.
When I remove the Formula in this Cell, the Error an Page 1 (Kasse) Cell H5
disappears.
However, the calculation on Page4 "Finanzamts-Auswertung" and some other pages
does not work.
In Excel the Formula and the whole Spread - Sheet works fine.

Kind Regards

Hi

It is possible to include in Table of contents index marks created as such.
Unfortunately these Index marks are not considered as hyperlinks.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open the HyperlinkIndexMarker.odt attached
2. Move the mouse (or click) in the index on the H1 line

Expected & actual results:
- the "Ctrl+Click to follow link" tip is displayed
- Ctrl-Click effective

3. Move the mouse (or click) in the index on the TOC index entry line

Actual result: no tip, no hyperlink

But seems something strange with the document.
Appears all in one page without the page break.

Changing e.g. the option in:
Menu/Tools/Options/Writer/View - Ruler - Horizontal/Vertical Unit.
recover the page break.
The same with the option:
Menu/Tools/Options/Writer/Compatibility - Use printer metrics for .

Can you reproduce the issue with a new document?

So perhaps the bug has to do with the display flow of pages.

I in languages with many words in Upper Case not so useful but perhaps in
english?

if the sentences is marked and you press left arrow cursor is at first position
of first word. the problem is, that with cursor in this position shift+f3
doesn't funktion. Go0ld would be if shift+f3 changes the word even if cursor is
just touching the word at end or beginning (helpful by jumping from word to
word bei ctrl+arrow left(right)

Check for updates has been broken in a multitude of ways for a long time - it
usually just takes you to the website. Do you have a non W10 machine to test
on? I'll give it a go on W7 but not going to do the upgrade to 10 so would be
nice to know if this is W10 only.
