I received the document via email and had the exact same display problem. To help improve LibreOffice, I tought I make a minimal example (since I can not attach the received .docx). I therefore copied the image into an .odt and attached it here. Your Believe the .ODT was incorrectly created. can not be correct. I opened the original .docx, copied/pasted the image into a new .odt. What did I do incorrectly ? And why is the image displayed in LO-draw but not in LO-writer ? Seems all captions of images are hidden behind the image in the German document. When editing the English document and changing an image the caption will also be behind the image. A little bit dragging of the caption-frame with the mouse will show the description for the image where it should be. Try this example: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/e/ea/Base_03_Tabellen_V50.odt First with all versions before 5.*: Open the example and scroll to page 5. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93386] Crashes when closing a Database with macro editor open
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93386 --- Comment #17 from Jean-Pierre Ledure j...@ledure.be --- Hi, I could test the ODB file in 2 environments: - Win 7 + LO 5.0.0.5 - Ubuntu 14.04LTS + LO 4.2.8.2 As a preliminary remark the Sub Start code should be changed in both environments as follows: Sub Start If GlobalScope.BasicLibraries.hasByName(Access2Base) then GlobalScope.BasicLibraries.loadLibrary(Access2Base) End If openConnection(thisDatabaseDocument) openForm(Saisie_Cave) End Sub to have the Access2Base library loaded and avoid the bahaviour described by Alex (comment 4). Now my observations: - in Win 7 / LO 5.0 the execution runs smoothly, no buggy behaviour detected. - in Ubuntu LO crashes indeed in next both cases: on the openForm statement or when opening the Saisie_Cave form manually (normal open or open in edit mode do not matter, macros may be deactivated when opened manually). Note that the 2nd form Saisie_Mouvements opens gracefully. I also removed the automatic execution of the Start macro, I even removed the PJG Basic module : still opening the Saisie_Cave form crashes LO. My conclusion is that Basic has nothing to do with the crash I observed. Maybe there is something within the internal format of the form that causes trouble in LO 4.2 up to ... ? Maybe the form was created in a recent version and became unreadable in an older one ? Pleas tell me if I can help further. When i deleted a series from my Line Chart (with points), the chart graphics didn't get updated. These are still showing the old chart. But when i select the different series from drop down list from chart edit mode, the green select point appears on new positions (as they are supposed to appear on the data, but line is not there, because chart is not representing updated graphics.) Before that i tried to copy paste my chart as i needed two copies of it. I simply selected the chart and i used keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v, but instead generating a copy of chart it somehow corrupted my chart. And is there anyway i can backup my chart data because it took me an hour to make chart by entering data in each cell. (Please provide multiple cell selection in next version of chart data tables) Also please can you provide option of importing data from xls sheets into charts or copy-paste option for multiple cells as i tried to do it. It copies all the data into single cell of Chart data. The attached spreadsheet contains external images - e.g. the RAM sheet contains http://i.dell.com/images/global/configurator/general/collapse_notselected.gif and others. There are known issues with loading external images - especially if something causes the image to load slowly (e.g. DNS issues) or the remote site to silently not connect at all. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93447 --- Comment #11 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- @Martin, (In reply to Martin Koller from comment #9) I am using Version: 5.0.1.1 where I still see the problem (openSuse 13.2). This is the version I created the bug for. tommy27 and I checked then with an older version, too. I attach the same test documenta as .docx here with the same problem (I fail to see why this should make a difference though) So what was the source of this .docx? Looking at the OOXML archive it shows as having been created with LibreOffice. Sorry, but that is not going to work, the problem with LibreOffice's libvisio filter processing of the Visio drawing OLE embedded in the OOXML has already occurred. Going to need the original .DOCX or a redacted version of it done in MS Office for this to be valid. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93318] Buttons on extreme left of Tab bar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93318 --- Comment #8 from tommy27 ba...@quipo.it --- @Adolfo I agree about the plus button. but regarding the double-click vs Ctrl+Click I still think that the we should change the behaviour since double-click is a rapid one-hand-only action while Ctrl+Click needs two hands and in many cases also visual checking where the Ctrl key is. so I see the double click a more efficient and intuitive way to achieve the last sheet and first sheet actions. so IMHO we should reserve WONTFIX just for the plus button issue, while the first/last sheet action should be considered for a change. according to what Tomaz said in comment 3 it is very easy to change the code to accomplish this. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84277] TOOLBAR: Invisible separator
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84277 --- Comment #6 from Maxim Monastirsky momonas...@gmail.com --- It seems that we already have toolbar:toolbarspace, that can be used instead of toolbar:toolbarseparator. But it has some bugs, that should be fixed before we can make any use of it. Another thing I noticed is that under Windows (as well as under Linux when running with SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen), the separators between the comboboxes aren't visible, although they are visible in other places on the toolbar. Would be useful to check whether it's just a bug, or it was done intentionally by someone, and in this case how could we reuse that for the GTK interface. (In reply to Yousuf (Jay) Philips from comment #1) It would also be useful to be able to change the default number of pixels used by the separator in the form of an xml value in two possible manners. 1) total pixels - toolbar:size=10px 2) pixels on either side - toolbar:size=5px,5px 3) multiple of the default size - toolbar:size=*2 Seems overkill to me. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93064 --- Comment #6 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk --- (In reply to Yousuf (Jay) Philips from comment #5) Hi Jay, Just so you know, LO's minimum target resolution has been set to 1280x768 in the HIG and various UI elements will be optimized for that resolution, like the improved toolbar buttons in 5.0. So if you have users with 1024x768 screens, i'd recommend you upgrade their screens. When Dave and I discussed this on IRC, we discovered that the problem also affects users 1366x768 resolution monitors, i.e. standard 19 screens. The problem is that the new LO HIG resolution you mention in your reply fails to take into account the smaller area available on OSX when the Dock is present/visible, which is the default in the majority of OSX installations. Currently, LibreOffice is the only application that I know of, whether proprietary or open source) not to respect the presence of the Dock. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47825] SLIDESHOW: Show formatted notes in presenter console (Instead of converting to plaint-text)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47825 --- Comment #16 from Patric bzk0...@aol.com --- Back to the original bug report: I think the correct display of notes in the console is a serious issue, not just a medium enhancement. What do others think? I definitely consider this a serious issue as well. Having completely unstructured notes is definitely not worth much, since during presentation you want to look at your audience, wander around, look at the projected screen, and quickly glimpse at your notes again while talking. Having no way of structuring them makes quickly spotting where you left really difficult. If at least the spacing was preserved that would already make a huge difference. What I will do for now, as a workaround, is introduce some CAPITALIZATION and plain-text bullet points like *** to have at least something to orient oneself towards. However, properly rendering the notes as they are formatted in the notes view is a vital requirement for future versions in my opinion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93064 --- Comment #7 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips philip...@hotmail.com --- Hi Alex, (In reply to Alex Thurgood from comment #6) When Dave and I discussed this on IRC, we discovered that the problem also affects users 1366x768 resolution monitors, i.e. standard 19 screens. Yes this issue affects all resolutions with a height of 768 or less. To my recollection, standard 19 monitor have a resolution of 1280x1024 and a widescreen 19 is 1440x900. 1366x768 is the standard resolutions on laptops these days. The problem is that the new LO HIG resolution you mention in your reply fails to take into account the smaller area available on OSX when the Dock is present/visible, which is the default in the majority of OSX installations. The target resolution mentioned in the HIG is the user's screen resolution, irrespective of the panels/docks they have in their desktop environment. When dealing with issues that affect height (e.g. the sidebar), i cater to the assumption that a user has 1 horizontal panel in their desktop environment (windows, ubuntu's unity, gnome 3, kde, lxde, cinnamon). If a user has more than 1 panel, it it wont look as great for them (e.g. a scrollbar appears), but it shouldnt make it unusable. Currently, LibreOffice is the only application that I know of, whether proprietary or open source) not to respect the presence of the Dock. Yes this bug does cause LO not to respect the panels on any OS, which is why i reported this, as i saw it on my 1280x768 laptop and knew it would arise months back when Andreas decided to go with larger icons for breeeze than with any other icon theme. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 75518] UI: Add Print to File (PDF) to list of printers in Print dialog
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75518 V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Resolution|--- |WONTFIX --- Comment #7 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- (In reply to Yousuf (Jay) Philips from comment #6) The only OS i think this option might be useful for is on Linux, as the option to export to PDF isnt available as a virtual printer on Windows, which is why there are many free PDF printer drivers around (e.g. PrimoPDF, CutePDF, etc.). Actually as Adolfo points out in Comment 5 -- Windows 10 now implements a virtual PDF print device, similar to their long present XPS. On Linux, there isnt a virtual pdf printer installed by default, though it is easy to install one by installing the cups-pdf package on Ubuntu. So with this in mind, and knowing that CUPS has this capability and is installed by default on most Linux systems, the gnome print dialog has a 'Print to File' option that exports as PDF, Postscript and SVG. Calligra is also aware of this and provides Print to File options for PDF and Postscript from its print dialog. Yes printing on all Linux flavors I'm familiar with is CUPS based, which makes use of ghostscript--so PDF is derived there. Earlier Windows PDF printers do similar, just bundled for Windows. Now with native PDF support at Windows 10. Not sure how useful it is to pursue this enhancement when it is quite limited in its scope, we provide direct access to pdf exporting, and it would likely involve quite a bit of development. So lets see what devs think about how easy this is to implement. IMHO, the existing menu Export as PDF using LibreOffice filters is sufficient. Also, no need to add either a Print to File, or change the existing Print dialog which includes either the OS provided, or an installed PDF printer (e.g. CutePDF or Adobe Distiller). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93436] Too many bugs. What about change priorities to stability?
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93436 --- Comment #5 from moze...@inbox.ru --- to Adolfo Jayme. That was not the bug report for sure. I just want developers that coordinate work on LO to hear the users. And I call 4.4.0-beta, 4.4.1-rc1, 4.4.2-rc2, 4.4.3-rc3 etc. But there is no release, there is only next beta - 5.0... That's not right and correct statement. But that is how many users feel - always beta. And to be clear I don't blame anyone. And I sent several bug reports here. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93473 Aaron Paden aaronbpa...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #8 from Aaron Paden aaronbpa...@gmail.com --- Hm. So by default, Use OpenGL for all rendering is unchecked. Actually, if I click on it, then ok, then go back to the options, the option shows as unchecked again, so I'm not sure if it's actually ever being turned on or off. This is on a fresh profile, and it's true also if I click Force OpenGL even if blacklisted. So if Use OpenGL for all rendering is supposed to be enabled by default, I'm not sure if it is or not because I'm not sure if I can trust the checkbox. Note that I'm using my distros package, so I'm not sure it isn't an issue with one of their config flags or something. https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trun/PKGBUILD?h=packages/libreoffice-fresh I'm in the process of building 5.0.1.1 so I can see if this issue exists there. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76991] Writer destroys aspect ratio when scaling graphics
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76991 --- Comment #10 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- OK, reading the test document and OP closer. I do see the weird loss of aspect ratio when the Width relative is adjusted a second time. The first setting is correct, but when a change is made to the Width relative percentage the Height is set to a matching length. The same occurs setting a Height relative, and adjusting a second time. The first setting is correct, but a change made to the Height relative percentage results in Width set to a matching length. Suggests there is a logic error in the resize/fixed ratio action--somewhere around here... http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sw/source/ui/frmdlg/frmpage.cxx#1162 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
