[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45372] Provide a WALKUP() function
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45372 davidfischer...@gmail.com davidfischer...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOTABUG --- Comment #2 from davidfischer...@gmail.com davidfischer...@gmail.com --- The purpose of the function is to walk up a column testing for a value that is displayed. When it finds a displayed value, it returns the row. This sounds exactly like the MATCH() function to me. I am going to mark this bug as Resolved and NotABug since I believe the functionality you are looking for already exists.(In reply to Terri from comment #0) I would like to propose a walkup function. The purpose of the function is to walk up a column testing for a value that is displayed. When it finds a displayed value, it returns the row. Spreadsheets originally tried to mimic a ledger. A ledger uses a few columns on the left that have identifying info like, a date, a description, and a dollar amount of the purchase or expense. The columns to the right of those normally indicate various logical accounts with the effect of the transaction on that particular account. An entry is made in the transaction amount in the first set of columns and then in the appropriate column, same row, showing how much is added/subtracted from that particular account. This leads to a very clean and easily understood array of cells that join a particular credit/debit (the row) to a particular account (the column). Since each entry in an accounts column is dependent on the last balance for that account, anyone maintaining a spreadsheet has to constantly update the cell references to ensure each transaction is properly posted using the last previous balance of that particular account or column. The function would have a single argument, the column to walk up. The row would be assumed to be the row value of the cell calling the function. It would walk up that column from the cell's row, subtracting 1 from the row each time until it found the last value of the account from the last transaction. It then would return that value. If an intervening row were inserted and a new transaction affecting that account were put in that new row, the next recalculate would deliver that new row value of that column. In that way, the running value of that account is maintained, all the way down the spreadsheet regardless of changes made above. Enhancements for later might be to allow an argument using a different row or column. But I think that is for later. I will provide more visuals upon request. I am going to work on a simple sample spreadsheet demonstrating the idea which I'll add as an attachment. This sounds exactly like the MATCH() function to me. I am going to mark this bug as Resolved and NotABug since I believe the functionality you are looking for already exists. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93586] New: Slow spell checking when using Linux Libertine G fonts
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93586 Bug ID: 93586 Summary: Slow spell checking when using Linux Libertine G fonts Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.0.5 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: kn...@gmx.com Hello, I'm having a problem with the spell checking function of LO Writer under Windows 10 (64 bit) and the Linux Libertine G fonts. When I use the spell checker (F7) in a document that is using these fonts (Linux Libertine G, Linux Biolinum G, Gentium), it takes about 3-5 seconds to load, and every time I press the Ignore or the Add to dictionary buttons, is the same (3-5 secs to show the next word). I know that the G version of the Linux Libertine family implements the Graphite technology, so I think that there's something with the way LO Writer handles these type of fonts that produces this problem. So, the steps to reproduce the problem are: 1. Open a Writer document (I tried using files 5-8 pages long, nothing complex, with and without pictures attached). 2. Change the font to Linux Libertine G, Linux Biolinum G, Gentium or another Graphite font. 3. Hit F7 to open the spell checker. Current behavior: the spell check tool takes about 3-5 secs to be ready and the same amount of time for every misspelled word. Expected behavior: the spell check tool should take 0-1 sec to load/work. If I use another font, like Arial, Times, the Liberation fonts, the problem doesn't happen (the spell checker takes 0-1 sec to load). If I use Linux Libertine O or Linux Biolinum O, the problem doesn't happen. Disabling the auto spell check function doesn't help. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91441 --- Comment #8 from Maxim Monastirsky momonas...@gmail.com --- (In reply to Yousuf (Jay) Philips from comment #7) Yes ideally it should be pulled from the OS but even that data isnt always correct, because users dont always put their real or complete name into the OS's user account. But when it comes to creating documents and those documents having their real name visible in it (e.g. in a comment), users are more likely to put it in, which is why even MSO shows a dialog on first run asking for it. OK, makes sense. I'm assuming it still exists in git if it had to be resurrected as it used to be My point was that you can't just git revert it, as it will require fair amount of work to adapt to the current code base. And given that we're not going to use it as-is anyway, I think that trying to resurrect it is simply a waste of time. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93221 --- Comment #3 from Andrew zpm...@gmail.com --- The Basic code works on any version prior to version 5. Currently I reinstated version 4.4.5.2 and the encoder works fine. The attached file has the text to be converted: someem...@domain.com in field B2 and gives the result: 539f1ea12038c073ab9c59a01caef6ac in field B3 I cross-referenced the result with one of the online converters. The one I used was http://www.md5.cz and the result was identical to the above I assume the attached file will throw the BASIC runtime error. Object variable not set. at the time when this file is opened in LibreOffice 5. I actually installed the 32 bit LibreOffice version 5 later and had the same error with that one too. Both 64 and 32 bit LibreOffice V5 variants generate the same error with this encryption code but on prior version of LibreOffice was working fine. I use this encoding on a daily basis for about 2 years now, so I would have picked up any misbehaviour on previous LibreOffice versions just like I did with the shorter than 32 character code generation which is another matter relating to the Cryptographic service. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I deleted the contents of some cell (cannot remember the range, I think it must have being A2:W34). I expected to see all numbers disappears, but in cells I32, L32 and V32, the old result from the formula still is visible. How can that be? Bug? As far I know, all cells that the formula refers to are empty. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
