[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93690] New: toggling into read-only mode with ctrl-shift-m does not put focus on document

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93690

Bug ID: 93690
Summary: toggling into read-only mode with ctrl-shift-m does
not put focus on document
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.5 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@vandenoever.info

When pressing ctrl-shift-m in edit mode, read-only mode is enabled.

In this mode, buttons like page-up, page-down, or going back to edit mode
(ctrl-shift-m) do not work initially. They only work after the user has clicked
in the document. It would be good to give the document focus automatically when
entering read-only mode.

The same behaviour applies when entering read-only mode via the toolbar button
or the entry in the 'edit' menu.

The VCL backend vcl/inc/salframe.hxx has an (apparently almost entirely unused)
'Sync' method. Callers of that could call Flush instead which is almost as good
(and a duplicate on windows).

We should check if in fact Sync() is used outside of the outdevgrind tool
(which can use flush instead). Best to remove the method and see what happens
=)

// flush output buffer, wait till outstanding operations are done
virtual voidSync() = 0;

If we need it back we can add a parameter to Flush(... bool bWait = false); or
something which is a nicer API anyhow.

Thanks !

Special characters created in Excel do not translate properly to LibreOffice
such as typographer's quotes (“”) or accented letters (ñ). I use Excel on a
virtualized Windows XP machine. My spreadsheets are for catalog building and as
such often need special characters. I use LibreOffice to open these documents
on an Apple MacBook Pro to create CSV's to import into InDesign as LibreOffice
is much faster at computations (usually) than Excel 2008. However, the
documents often show translation errors such as Jalape√±o instead of Jalapeño.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93689] New: EDITING: Paste Special DDE link: no result

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dhr@gmail.com

I can't create a dde link between two -Writer- documents.

Reproduce:
Create untitled 1.odf or untitled 1.xdoc file in writer.
Type aaa on first line.
Save the file on desktop.
Select aaa and hit ctrl+c.

Then create 'untitled 2.odf' or 'untitled 2.xdoc' file in writer.
Select Edit/Paste Special/DDE link.
A link is created, but there is no result: aaa doesn't appear in file 2.

Also changes in 'untitled 1.odf' or 'untitled 1.xdoc' are not reflected in file
2.

I have had this bug since I started with LO under Win 7, and it persisted till
now: LO 5.0.0.5 / Win 10. Creating a new user profile didn't solve it.

Clearly we're going to need to have some more 'Flush' events at the tail end of
rendering; for the curious - we get a scad of these on startup (under windows)
- as we render the progress bar (say 20) - but I guess that's a feature =)

As indicated within the attached and the screenshot, I find it not a good
example of software design that postcodes are not automatically recognized when

Every country has its own postcodes so this would be quite a change in the
software.

Postcodes in Malta can be looked up through the online tool at

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93688] New: String ref syntax incorrect for new documents and in UI

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 93688
Summary: String ref syntax incorrect for new documents and in
UI
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: katarina.behr...@cib.de

This is a spin-off of bug 92256, the implementation of requirements specified
therein went 1 bridge too far, in a sense that CalcA1 | ExcelA1 syntax is used
not only for imported documents whose string ref syntax is unknown, but also
for the new documents. There are two aspects of that issue now:

1. Opening an existing document that *doesn't* have string ref syntax property,
UI (Tools - Options - Calc - Formula - Detailed calculation settings)
shows string ref syntax from user's prefs and not CalcA1 | ExcelA1 as it
should b/c this is how Calc interpreter really behaves in such case (string ref
syntax unknown during import)

2. For a new document, string ref syntax as specified in user's prefs should be
used. Instead (and incorrectly so) CalcA1 | ExcelA1 is.

The SI GUI is in english on the first page but you cannot interact with it, it
then reverts to German and it neither downloads a program,[expected] nor does
it link with LibreOffice, non of the fields are editable but it may suddenly
say that it is installing to an empty 1TB drive [L:] but doesnt. For us idiots
it needs a guide, I find it more difficult than Linux to understand what the
writer is trying to achieve.

than the bug still exist and It is not the only one problem, if in the design
of the table, you merge all the cells of two column and finally two columns
become in one column and you have to delete other column, this disapper too and
only remind the columns than never has been merged at all.
The table need to handle the cells individually too, if you want to enlarge or
short any single cell, you can't do it.
I've tested in LibreOffice 5.0.0.5 in Win 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.04 64 bits both.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93685] New: WORKDAYINTL function has a new parameter that make old spreadsheet in error

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93685

Bug ID: 93685
Summary: WORKDAYINTL function has a new parameter that make old
spreadsheet in error
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.1.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rpn...@free.fr

The WORKDAYINTL (named WORKDAY in the help?) from LO 4 has this schema :
WORKDAY(StartDate; Days; Holidays).

But in LO 5.0.1, it has this schema :
WORKDAY(StartDate; Days; number or strings; array) with array matching with
Holydays in fact. A new parameter (number or strings) was created.

So old spreadsheet have errors because Holidays are arrays and number or
strings are required with another meaning.

To assure compatibility, the 4th parameter should be in the 3th position.

More, the English labels in the Function wizard are not clear (number or
string and array).

It is a bug that make obsolete all spreadsheet that use this parameters.

So please, fix as soon as possible.

Yes this issue is based on the theme, as when i go through the themes on linux,
some of them have a line separator (crux, industrial, redmond) and some dont
(clearlooks, mint-x, mist). But for the ones that dont, the separator does
appear when the toolbars are docked at the top.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93691] New: Update external links does not update cells containing dates and times

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93691

Bug ID: 93691
Summary: Update external links does not update cells
containing dates and times
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: helpdesk@national.shitposting.agency

Created attachment 118207
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118207action=edit
zip archive containing two .ods files

Overview:
It is possible to reference cells in another document. When opening a file that
contains such references they can be manually or automatically updated.
However, in my case updating only works for simple text data, and silently
fails for things like dates and times.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Create two empty ODS files.
2) In file A, add references to a couple of cells from file B. Save close.
3) Open file B, change the content of those cells in file B - fill them with
strings, numbers, dates and times. Save.
4) Open file A again. You will be asked if external files should be updated
(depending on your settings). Afterwards, all fields will show the correct
values. Save close.
5) Go back to file B, change the content, save.
6) Open file A again. Only simple text and numbers will be updated, but not
dates and times. Those are still the old values.

Actual Results:
Fields with date and time keep their old, outdated values.

Expected Results:
Everything should be updated.

The attachment contains two files that were produced after step 4), with A =
test-references.ods and B = test-data.ods. (You will have to fix the paths if
you don't store them in D:\)

 Whiteboard|bibisected target:5.1.0 |odf bibisected target:5.1.0

--- Comment #5 from Michael Stahl mst...@redhat.com ---
there are several different bugs in the handling of background in styles in LO
4.4 here:

1. the frame style encarts has a background color set via
fo:background-color but that is not imported

2. the paragraph style Titre Avis expert has a background color,
and the style Avis expert questions derives from it and
overrides the background color with fo:background-color=transparent
but that is not imported properly so it wrongly inherits parent
   style's background

3. on export the derived paragraph style did not have the legacy
   attribute fo:background-color=transparent so an exported
document imported in LO 4.3 would have a Sky Blue background color

all fixed on master now.

On OS X, I have postres with a table containing a Date field.
I make a pivot table in Calc, and choose registered data sources, and then
choose this table as the pivotable source. Adding the date field as a column in
the table shows the dates as integers, even though the cells which are holding
the dates can be manually formatted as dates which correctly represent the
dates.

So the bug is that dates are not being formatted as dates.

Rendering is a big issue in 5.0.0.5 in both calc and writer, with writer being
a huge issue. I'm going to revert to 4.4.6 until this issue gets fixed.

It seems that if I open either an .odt or .ods that I have to wait for about 20
minutes for rendering to 'settle down'. It's as though 'stuff' required for
stable rendering takes that long to 'load' and the documents to become stable,
i.e. not 'jumping around'.

I added a Tag of 'Rendering' to this bug.

But here are the steps to reproduce:

1. Open Writer.

Basic... - Edit.
3. Insert the line MsgBox(ThisComponent.dbg_methods) between Sub Main and

Issue not reproduced after resaving as DOCX in Word 2010

Problem still present in

However, I can't reproduce the issue if I resave the document as DOCX in Word

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93475] Macro library isn't shown

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93475

Maybe the macro library isn't fully correct as the modifications have caused
this issue. But since LibreOffice successfully accepted this library on
importing I think it should also correctly handle it then. An alternative would
be to strictly validate macro libraries and reject invalid ones on importing.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93673] New: Formulas with dates don’t work any more (since 4.4.3)

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93673

Bug ID: 93673
Summary: Formulas with dates don’t work any more (since 4.4.3)
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: libreoffice.20.geckoespre...@spamgourmet.com

Created attachment 118187
  -- https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=118187action=edit
Time sheet (German)

In the attached spreadsheet (a time sheet), I use the following formula to sum
up time values depending on the current date:

F2: {=SUM(($B$4:$B$368=TODAY())*$F$4:$F$368)}

Column B contains dates, Column F times.

Starting with version 4.4.3, the formula resolves to #VALUE!, the status
message telling me “Error: Wrong data type”.

The document is German, but I marked some fields (times) which you can edit in
orange. As soon as one line is filled with values, all cells in row 2 should
display proper values.

I checked that this happens only in versions 4.4.3 and above (currently 5.0.0).
4.4.2 and below worked fine.

Hopefully you accept this as a bug, since it renders several of my spreadsheets
useless. On Windows I could stay at version 4.4.2 if necessary, but with
prepackaged Linux distributions, I will run into serious trouble soon…

Thanks for your help.

--- Comment #5 from Alex Kempshall mcmurchy1917-bugzi...@yahoo.co.uk ---
I've subsequently -

1.
installed a new instance of Lubuntu 14.04 LTS in virtualbox;

2.
pulled the latest LibreOffice source code from git;

3.
compiled LibreOffice to obtain -

Version: 5.1.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 74bc7cb59c1bc3f7acdb4d1492fe563ebcefee6c
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8)

The problem I initially reported, for LibreOffice 5.0.0.5, is not reproducible
in 5.1.0.0.alpha1+ on this new install of Lubuntu 14.04 LTS. Neither is the
problem reproducible using 5.0.0.5 on this new install of Lubuntu 14.04 LTS.

The problem is still there for 5.0.0.5 on an old install of Lubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Not sure where we go from here!

Probably there is some specific to windows port.

For me (LO 4.4.4.3, external built binary package on amd64 GNU/Linux system,
with standard HDD and 2 GB RAM) it takes abou 65 seconds to open this file.
The only strange thing is that process bar goes almost to end in about 30
seconds.

Word is very different application.
It's designed to _look_ quick.
But if user will look inside, he can see, that it is not right.
I've seen how word processes large (thousands pages) document.

The only wrong is that LO Writer half time of opening this document don't show
it's doing something.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93669] Problem with printing multi-sided documents via Fax-Printer

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #3 from Michael michael.kair...@web.de ---
There's no fax-printing problem when I export my two-sided helloworld.odt to a
PDF-File. It works also for a multi-sided wordpad- or notepad-document. My Win7
is up-to-date (registered for Win10 but not upgraded yet).

In the Issue 122984 of Apache OpenOffice Bugzilla (see my previous link) the
same procedure was discussed. Please read the last comments of Armin Le
Grand. He wrote that a PrintJob for every single page caused this behaviour.
Maybe it's a PrintJob-Problem with the MS Shared Fax Driver on Windows 7, but I
seems to be fixable. The OpenOffice Target Milestone was 4.2.0, but it was
never released.

Attached the corrupted tiff file created by MS Fax printer - see Comment 2.

Thanks.

Hi Navdeep, thanks for your feedback. Could you provide a sample document
with the chart and a step by step of what you did to delete the datas so we
can reproduce exactly the same process you followed.
For the second defect you experienced (copy/past corrupted the chart) please
open an other bug with the sample and steps to reproduce the behaviour.
For importing data from an xls sheet, ask for help on the users@list here
 http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/community-support/
 Set as needinfo - Sophie

As i was figuring out the way to solve problem, it looks like using Ctrl+C
Ctrl+V , duplicated the chart in same drawing area (i suppose it has to create
new drawing area with chart). That created two overlapped charts in same area
but when i try to edit data, changes were getting applied to the chart in back.

Sorry for my vocab i don't know what these objects are called actually.

Bug ID: 93678

  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: iko...@yandex.ru

LO's build system builds all components, doesn't providing options to exclude
one (or some) of them, not needed for user.
That requests time to build and disk space (for now usually not critical, but
may).

For example — Gentoo GNU/Linux's default conf builds LO Base in unusable state
(no back-ends available). Because of build system don't provide options to
exclude it.
Although some binary distros provides separate packages for LO Writer, LO Calc
/etc…

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 93679] New: Cannot open any LibreOffice files with Windows 10

2015-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93679

Bug ID: 93679
Summary: Cannot open any LibreOffice files with Windows 10
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: paolaxpire...@gmail.com

I have downloaded Windows 10 a week ago, since then I cannot use Libre Office,
files do not open. Have deleted and reinstalled LOffice 5.0 but no luck.

Also, when I print .odt files (or word files), page numbers do not print. This
is a big problem as I am working with official documents that need numbering.

Please help.

Paola

Bug ID: 93680
   Summary: Sidebar cannot be resized
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.0.5 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: marvin.lud...@web.de

When I try to resize the sidebar it starts flickering / moving very fast
between two sizes. The mouse pointer freezes, I can still move it, but cannot
click anywhere. Not in Libreoffice nor anywhere else. Keyboard works,
Libreoffice must be killed by terminal.
