[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89236] FILESAVE Error opening password protected calc files

2015-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89236

--- Comment #17 from yuri.musashi.miwa.tam...@gmail.com ---
I reproduced it on Windows7-64bit (Libreoffice 4.4.5.2)

But the file seems collectly saved on Ubuntu-15.04-x86_64 (4.4.2.2)

I think it happens when the file contains a lot of data.

I confirm it... to solve this inconsistency do you think it's better to change
the actual behaviour (bordered table) or change the documentation (borderless

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 35287] feature request: smooth scroll

2015-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35287

I confirm this issue in Windows 10 64-bit Libreoffice Dev Version:
5.1.0.0.alpha1+

While my scroll speed and smoothness works well in most apps, LibreOffice
scrolls a page at a time, making scrolling with my trackpad or middle mouse
button impossible.

It would be great to see LibreOffice incorporate smooth scrolling like
Chrome/Firefox Microsoft Word etc. Maybe even have an in-app option for how
many lines should be scrolled, or to turn smooth scrolling off/on.

I assume this is possible as many other Windows applications have such a
feature now.

LibreOffice reads and writes gradients in the tag, but cant
import linear and radial gradients from and
 tags found in styles.xml (
http://docs.oasis-open.org/office/v1.2/os/OpenDocument-v1.2-os-part1.html#__RefHeading__1416462_253892949

Below are xml examples taken from the attached file.

As and tags are capable of having
advanced gradients (gradients with more than 2 colors), only the first and last
tags should be read, as LO doesnt have capabilities of handling
advanced gradients. LO does the same thing when importing advanced gradients
from ooxml files.

When you insert a shape in LO, it insert it with the continuous line style and
a line width of 0.00cm. This causes a problem because even though the line
width is 0, it shows the border around the shape, and when a shape is set to a
line width of 0 in some apps (e.g. Calligra Words), it doesnt show a border,
which causes interoperability problems.

The bug is when you finish writing a word in Arabic and after pressing the
space-bar to add new word to the sentence, the space moves the previous word to
the left and once you start typing the new world the previous word will move
back to its position. As you continue writing a complete sentence, some
character disappears.

msi don't start on Vista system.

V4.3.7.2 works fine, but all newer version can't be installed, because the msi
don't start.

I tried also V5. No result, too.

In case of 'variable' element the attribute 'visibility' is allowed. To not
write 'VISIBILITY=""' a similar '' element is needed as it is used
for the 'ahelp' element.

The case of 'switch' element is more difficult. In xmlhelp.dtd the attribute
'localize' is not allowed for the 'switch' element. But the comment in the
transformation xmlhelp2soffice.xsl mentions it. So first it is needed to
examine, whether an attribute 'localize' is currently evaluated for a switch
element. If it is evaluated, an '' element has to be used and the
doctype has to be adapted. If it is not evaluated, this special part in the
transformation can be dropped. [ I yet don't know how to examine it.]

I think it is something with the png file cause when I say png for rgb than it
works but when there are only selected colors (1-2 colors) than you get this
problem.

Breeze and Tango themes have the same problem but no issues with Galaxy theme.

I agree that -3^-2 should be treated like -(3^-2) not like (-3)^-2
Some argue about compatibility but I strongly disagree, a mistake is a mistake.
I prefer not being compatible or at least detect such cases and propose to add
parenthesis. The (or should I say "my") problem is, it's not majority opinion
at least for LO Devs.

Anyway, it's indeed a duplicate of tdf#37271. I'm really sorry to say it won't
be fixed as you and I would expect :-(

So as Microsoft developers has made a mistake 20 years ago, LibreOffice also
copied this mistake without even checking. And now, to maintain
retro-compatibility, we are going to have this wrong behaviour until the end of
the time?.

Today, I lost 2h until I discovered why the hell my function with around 30
parameters was wrong to discover that Libre-office was wrong.

I asked a Mathematician community to be sure before and I end-up against these
comments.

Possible solution:
Change the behaviour to the correct, and add parentheses while opening old
files from before the update so they still work.

Write -(3^-2) if you want the negation of the formula.

I attempted to add a sound via "other sound ..." option for an Impress session.
The sound was not added, but "no sound" was chosen. I tried this on sounds
from different directories, and in different formats with the same result. In
addition, I tried to add a sound to an existing presentation, with the same
result. Existing sounds in the presentation played successfully.

This is running on Ubuntu 15.04, Libreoffice version 4.4.2.2.

I should have been more clear in the last comment I made, but it is in the
title.

This affects printing too, so printing to a PDF doesn't work either. If it's
still not a major bug after knowing this, then change it, but if there's no way
to save it through Writer to make it printable or exportable without issue, I
consider it a major bug.

2015-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 94578

OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical

  Reporter: robert_a...@yahoo.com

I am using LibreOffice Version 4.4.5.2., Build
a22f674fd25a3b6f45bdebf25400ed2adff0ff99

I have an application whereby I need to copy two cells (cols. B & C) from a Row
(say Row 2) and then paste them into two other cells (Cols. I & J) of another
row (say Row 3), and then copy cells from Cols. B & C of Row 3 and paste them
to Cols. I & J of Row 2. I repeat this criss-crossed copy and paste operation
down the spreadsheet for subsequent pairs of rows: 2&3, 4&5, 6&7, etc.

The specific operation I use is to drag the cursor across the cells in Cols B &
C with the mouse to select them, and then I do a Ctrl C. I then mouse over to
Cols I & J in the other row and drag the cursor across them to select them, and
do a Ctrl V. I can do this very quickly as I move down the page.

During these operations, LibreOffice Calc hangs up and I have to use the
Windows Task Manager to kill LibreOffice in order to go on. At first I thought
it had to do with my performing these operations during a "Save" operation,
this seems not to be the case as I have set the interval for saves to be a
large number and the hang up continues to occur. I have turned off
auto-correct and spell checker and the hang ups continue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is an abundance of open source database solutions out there. LibreOffice

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94576] New: Cancelling Input of Search Term in Template Manager also Cancels the Whole Manager Dialogue

2015-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 94576

also Cancels the Whole Manager Dialogue
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.2.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

In order to reproduce the bug:

[1] Open Template Manager.
[2] If template folders are not displayed, click “All Templates”.
[3] Click Search icon. The search line is displayed.
[4] Enter some random letters. If there is no match with existing templates
neither templates nor folders are displayed any longer.
[5] Suppose now you like to find a specific template by browsing through the
template folders. Cancel search function with Esc. The whole template manager
dialogue is cancelled and you have to open it again. Expected: Only the search
function should be terminated with Esc. In almost all cases closing a dialogue
with Esc is the right behaviour. But in this special case, at least my
automatic reaction is the use of the Esc key in order to display the template
folders again.

One hint:
Ubuntu doesn't install the Report-Builder when choosing LibreOffice Base to

would only be created by the wizard with the old legacy report-engine.

Do you get the packages from Ubuntu or from LibreOffice directly?

I don't think so, if we use features from 1.6 it won't work on 1.0-1.4 afaiu.
If we use 1.0, it will run fine on 1.0-1.6.

Are there features from 1.6 that you want?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94574] New: paragraph not visible with 4.4.2.2 and newer VIEWING FORMATTING

2015-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94574

Bug ID: 94574
Summary: paragraph not visible with 4.4.2.2 and newer VIEWING
FORMATTING
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dietmar...@sags-per-mail.de

Created attachment 119099
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=119099&action=edit
the first paragraph in this file is problematic

Hi,

I encountered a problem in some of my documents. Everything looked fine up to
(and including) Libreoffice 4.3.6.2

With 4.4.2.2 (and v 5) a number of paragraphs are not displayed by default any
more. A minimal example is in this document (also in the attachment):

https://www.dropbox.com/s/a3qy2mth5q5newn/Unbenannt%201.odt?dl=0

It contains one paragraph with the text "unsichtbar" (invisible), this is the
one that is gone (i.e. invisible) by default. Below there is a paragraph
"sichtbar" (visible) that is still displayed although I thought that it should
be the same formatting.

The result from the discussion on the German mailing list is that somehow the
font "Courier" made it into the formatting of the paragraph, under Win7, Win10
and Win Server 2008 this font is not available. It should be "Courier New".

A workaround that helps is Tools > Options -> LibreOffice -> Fonts and add a
replacement rule there.

Without a replacement rule, I can not even mark the paragraph in question. I
try to mark it in order to change the formatting, but before I can do anything
the marking is removed.

I produced the document attached by copying such a problematic paragraph to a
new document with 4.3.6.2 and changed the text in the paragraph. The problem
stayed the same. Years ago (about 2009/2010), there was a .doc version of the
original document, then the document got edited by various people using
OpenOffice and LibreOffice on various computers (including a Mac).
Interestingly, on Mac there is both "Courier" and "Courier New". Since the
document has been displayed nicely for years it is not possible to tell for
sure whether the Mac is to blame or whether the strange formatting happened on
a Windows machine that had also MS Office installed (probably Win XP or Win
2000).

With the replacement rule, there is a workaround, but I think the behaviour is
a bit strange.

best
Dietmar

Sorry for taking a bit of your time, but I mistaked my example, the last valid
address with 3 letters seems to be AMJ, so please can you try with anything
below amj_.*, SUM(abz_begin:abz_end) per example? Let me know if you can't
reproduce it with a valid cell address, and I'll try in LO 5.0.2 as soon as it
commes in debian testing.

So, I think the online version of libreoffice and future desktop versions,
should also have support for collaborative editing of documents. Only an idea.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94573] New: invalid encoding in hyph_zu_ZA

2015-09-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94573

Bug ID: 94573
   Summary: invalid encoding in hyph_zu_ZA
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Linguistic
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mat...@mapreri.org

The current zu_ZA hyphenation patterns has the following first line:
ISO08859-1

I believe the current string is a mispelling for
ISO8859-1

I'm somewhat unable to find a documentation reference for this, except from
looking at the other .dic files.

I fail to find the original source of that dictionary, so I wouldn't know where
to report it otherwise.
Wondering if you're ok at diverging for a single byte from the original :)

For cross-reference, this was original reported as a Debian bug, at
https://bugs.debian.org/702425

Hi Beluga,

you are right if you are a user with admin rigths. In this case you modify the
template for all(!?) users of your system. On my system, if I work as a user
with no admin rights the behaviour is as described in my first description.

Cheers
